"Ah, there you are, Satoru-kun, not a minute too early, as usual," a middle-aged man greeted Satoru as he arrived, hinting that he'd rather have the boy arrive earlier next time. He didn't reply. Satoru just showed himself ready to pick up the package he was there for. To him, this was simply another one of his many courier jobs, which he enjoyed doing because he could put his speed on display. Lately though, the student was starting to become complacent as, of course, these assignments weren't very challenging (aside from the rare speed delivery, with which he usually had no trouble anyway). Part of him felt like he should try to find missions that put his other skills to the test more, and the other part felt like not bothering. Besides, there weren't that many anyway, and the more important missions were assigned to the top achieving students at the Academy.
"Here. Take this to the pawn shop at...," the man started giving him instructions as he received the package. He was then told to pick up another item and bring it back there. No time limit. "...and be careful with that thing, it brought me a lot of yen and I want it back the same way I left it there!!"
The boy hit the streets at a good pace. Lately, he would give himself a time frame in which he tried to complete the run, just so he could push his limits a bit. This was one of those times. The fact that the package was fairly small also allowed him a bit of leeway to jump about some small buildings and cut through some paths that he'd learned, showing off some of his shinobi acrobatics. He arrived at the designated shop and soon enough, he was on his way back. "Right...now back to the starting point... ."This time though, the item he was carrying was quite bigger and with his slim musculature, it was one he would have a bit of difficulty with, but the student resolved to challenge himself even harder this time. This was a good reminder that he had to train his body more. Surely after becoming a Genin, he wouldn't be able to get by so easily without some physical strength to complement his speed. At least that's what he thought then, as he hurried through an alley with the big box on his back.
When he arrived back at the mansion from where he first left, Satoru stopped for a minute to catch his breath before knocking on the door. He was panting heavily and he had sweat quite a lot. Leaning back on a nearby wall, he gazed up towards the sky and tried to estimate the time it took him to get back. "About 2 minutes...late..."
