Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Objective: Obtaining the ability to move freely at sea would be optimal, being able to function without become sick would be the minimum.
Description: Being at sea is something Kamaru isn't use to, to further expand his skill sets when seeking work he's opted to try and get his sealegs early in case there are missions at sea for ninjas. He thinks it won't be too difficult since he already knows how to swim.
Choppy storm weather

Kamaru closed his eyes and thought. The sound of the crashing waves in front of him were a reminder to his time recently at sea. In a way it faded into his mind as background noise as the water ebbed and flowed into the rocks. Barefoot the rocks felt comforting against his feet, he realized subconsciously he might have just been glad to be on dry land again. With the taste of salt on his lips he remembered the salve he was given. Even if the area close to Maruishi and Iwa village was fresh water the wind and the sun would easily leave him with a bloody lip. He was surprised at the nature of ninja that readily went out to sea. To fight injustices and the very force of nature that was the ocean they had to have some ‘stones’ at the fisherman on the boat called it.

Think back the trip could have been worse with Kamaru and the other two but then again it could have gone a lot better as well.

Hiring on as extra help on a fishing boat seemed like an easy way to get one’s sea legs. Asking questions about as Iwa ninjas were mentioned during the chatter got some decent intel which was what Kamaru was after. Supposedly Iwa ninjas patrolled the waterways around the village as well to deter pirates from pillaging and raiding merchantile or passenger vessels. They also would go out on a search and rescue mission at a moments notice as well. Kamaru was thankful that how he’d first meet the ninja of Iwa on his trip out to see. To be put simply is seemed to just be another part of the job for Iwa ninjas to be at sea to do their job. The fishermen seemed to respect them since the ninja respected the fishermen for doing their job as well. It seemed to just be how things were.

Kamaru thought of the times he had used water jutsu and although very flexible and versatile it was very different than nature itself having a hand in the manipulation of the element of water. It was probably about three days in and Kamaru finally was able to walk freely without the nausea which had completely subsided. Too stubborn or foolish he had done the tasked required of him the first few days and in a friendly manner he was teased in the first two days relentlessly by the veteran sailors. When the sudden call came to pull in the nets Kamaru assisted taken off guard when it suddenly changed from day to night as a storm rapidly rolled in. As the fishing vessel suddenly dropped Kamaru felt the vile rising again in his stomach. He had just gotten use to the motion on a calm sea now he had to deal with when she got violent. The rain came down but orders were barked out over the crackle of thunder and the booming of waves around them while they were pelted by rain.

As they shot up into the air Kamaru wasn’t the only one swearing as he suddenly became weightless and the deck beneath his feet moved away. As the crew that wasn’t quick enough to hold onto something landed he heard the call going out of someone flying overboard which added to the already dangerous situation. He wondered what he was doing already overboard diving towards the water away from the mock safety of the ship.

At best he was an average swimmer in still water maybe. In the darkness he was trying to find someone who may or may not be conscious. Light went on the sides of the boat which helped a bit providing light and a buoy of sorts to come back to. Kamaru felt the chill of the water around him. It was still pretty dark and he had a rough time, his only grace was diving head first to where he thought the man was. Something brushed up against him and latched on. Coming up the person with him as well as Kamaru sputtered for a bit a sensation of drowning as a wave came crashing down on them. Underwater Kamaru heard a distinct soft knock almost and looked around close to the boat’s hull to see a motionless body sinking. Underwater shaking his now swimming partner he pointed as they moved closer towards their new goal. Getting to him was the easy part with burning longs and darkness entrenching around them the lights from the boat seemed very far and high above them. Kamaru moved through handseals as they grabbed onto the unconscious mans’s sinking formed and expelled the air in his lungs. The man next to him a little taken aback wanted to ask questions as they both looked up. The waves churning against the boat seemed less harsh as they flew on an unseen current to the surface.

”I guess this is kinda a thing, so if no one asked me about it I ain’t saying nothing…” simply said before they exploded to the surface the bubble popping in the foam. Kamaru voice seemed clear enough for people to notice as ropes were thrown out. The unconscious man was hoisted up while Kamaru and the other fishermen braced themselves in the unlikely event of another swell dragging them down.

The rest of the trip was uneventful in comparison. Talk of what would have happened if the whole boat had flipped came up and ninjas from Iwa showing up. Kamaru was curious about it so he asked. While they probably wouldn’t have been able to save Kamaru and the two others if the boat had capsized they would have been called out to pick up the survivors and take them to safety. Kamaru hadn’t had the most glamorous of missions in Leaf before he left but he had to consider you really did have to have a set of ‘stones’ to come out in weather like this openly and of your own accord.

Scratching his face that felt slightly warm he opted to get out of the sun for a bit, didn’t want to show up in Iwa village with sunburn, it would look good or that he was very competent.
