Name: Himura Saburo
Dream Travel Destination & Why: The stars, so that I might find a place that can shine as brightly as your beautiful eyes.
1. Compare and contrast the scope of practice between genin, chuunin and jounin. (3pt)
Genin traditionally goof off and pretend that being a shinobi is all fun and games, chasing cats for coin and shit. Chuunins are that rare breed that consider themselves hot stuff while being simultaneously the most ineffectual bunch of mid-rate fighters, but at least they get to experience some real danger in support of the village. Jounin are the cream of the crop, being the ones that really get to influence the world around them to a lasting degree; they traditionally go on missions that would make Genin piss themselves.
2. Outline the roles and responsibilities of medics, main branch and ANBU shinobi. (5pt)
The Anbu exist to uncover secrets and to hunt down those threats to the village that could be either internal or external in nature. The main branch is here to preserve the peace, helping to assist with guarding areas like the village gates and the prison system, while educating the young on how to be more effectual within the community. Finally, medics are here to heal the rest of us... like how I might need to be healed from heartache, if I never get to see you again after this class is over.
3. Which country had been taken over by That Country? (1pt)
In the history of the world, there has never been a country that hasn't been invaded and taken over by another country. If this is about that whole samurai versus shinobi, thing, though... who cares? Samurai are lame. Leaf did try to invade Mist, though, once... that was pretty sweet. Plus, I hear once, long long ago, that the Sound nin even invaded Konoha... but that could have been the ramblings of an old drunk.
4. If a Sandworm is 50ft tall, how long is its length? (1pt)
I guess it would depend if it was sitting on its ass or not. If it was towering with its mouth in the air, it'd be a small bastard with a girth of only about 7.1 feet. If it was laying down in boring ole sandworm fashion, I suppose it'd have to actually be 350 feet long.
5. List the noble clans of Leaf. (4pt)
Nobility is an illusion. Power is taken or it is given, but since morality is subjective, nobility is just as subjective. I could be boring and say something like the Uchiha, the Nara, the Abarame, and the Akimichi... but that would be denying the Yamanaka the glory of being noble in their pursuits of botany. It would be a disgrace to the Inuzuka who recognize the nobility of animals who are undoubtedly purer than all of us. Are we all not noble? Are we all not equally damned?
6. Who was the first Hokage and his affiliations - rumoured or known? (2pt)
I can't say that it is known by most, but I live in Crater City where we make it our life mission to keep track of famous bad boys like Kami. Yamaguchi Kami was the head of the Yakuza by all accounts even if he might not have been publicly known as such. He was also a kickass Anbu shinobi too, as I recall, which makes his duplicity all the greater for it. No one knows exactly what happened to him, but some of the guys like to believe his spirit still resides in all of us living below the "Red Line".
7. Write out your understanding of the history of Konoha. Start the timeline with the fall of Leaf City to current. (6pt)
Eh, history is boring... basically the Daimyo is like, yo, I want the money AND the village. Leaf shinobi are all "no way dude", so they fight and like bitches, the shinobi wind up having to retreat to Stone to lick their wounds. While there, they get some other big bads to join in on the fight, Leaf comes back to Fire country, kicks the Daimyo's butt. Being a little too soft in my opinion, treaties are all drawn up and signed and now our village gates show influences of both shinobi and samurai design. I live in Crater City, however. Out in what might as well be called the ghetto, we pretty much live as we have always lived: marginalized.
8. Describe the Red Rain. (3pt)
The red rain is a ghost story about Leaf being subjected to a thousand years of blood raining down from the heavens. Supposedly, no one could survive in the land and arguably it might be true, but mythology is even more subjective than the idea of nobility.
