Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Character's Physical Description: First of Akazukin looks exceptionally young for age; she’s an adult but looks like a teenager. It is believed that this is due to the influence of the demon’s corruption. To turn evidence of her demonic powers is seen in her left eye. Her right eye is a scarlet red which is a little strange, but within her lift eye was a clock. The clock in her left eye always told the correct time except when using her powers. When she uses her powers the hands of the clock go haywire before returning to saying the proper time. Akazukin often wears red and can sometimes be seen wearing the old riding hood she had when she was a child.

Character's Mental Description: She is a more of a look before you leap type of girl, though her way of looking is a bit different than your normal person. She can see into the future, but not too far mind you. She can see far enough ahead to keep herself out of harm’s way and uses such powers a lot. Despite having this power she loves to gamble without looking into the future. She absolutely enjoys being surprised once in a while. Though often she at casinos she uses her powers in the name of training.

Character History/Kinjutsu App:
Once upon a time there was a dear little girl who was loved be everyone within the small village. As tradition for her clan she was born in the wilderness. She was born on the night of the Hunter’s Moon which painted the forest in a blood red light. Her grandmother loved her most of all and there was nothing that she would not have given to the child.

Akazukin was born to a clan of Inuzuka that specialized in what they called the art of the hunt; the ability to track down and captor one’s prey. Like most kids in the clan Akazukin was given a wolf pup at a very young age. She was to grow up with the animal and form a deep bond with it. Akazukin did indeed form a special relationship with her canine companion as he never leaves her side, but even now she is incapable of communicating with her pet at the same level as her parent can with their canine companions. Despite both parents being Inuzuka she did not inherit any traits of that bloodline. Such outcomes are unfortunate but not exactly rare for Akazukin’s grandmother was the same way. While her parents took an animalistic approach to hunting their prey, her grandmother taught her how to be a trapper. She would teach little Akazukin on her visits how to create special scrolls that can hold jutsu in them and will detonate according to the set trigger.

Seeing the unfortunate truth they hesitantly send Akazukin away to live with her grandmother. Akazukin would travel alone with only her wolf as is tradition. With tearful eyes they hugged and kissed her. Her mother hands Akazukin a basket with an apron hiding its contents. “I packed you some treats in case you get hungry. Set out before it gets dark and do not run off from the path. Darkness lurks in the forest and you will not be able to find it again if you go astray.”

“I will take great care, mother,” says Akazukin. She then puts a couple of fingers in her mouth and gives a loud whistle. Soon her canine companion come barreling out of the house to Akazukin’s side. They then set out on their way.

The grandmother lived out in the woods a half a league away from the village. It was just outside the borders of the outer borders of the hidden village. The forest felt sick like a disease was set upon it. Most of the trees were dark to an almost ebony hue. The leaves of the trees nearly blocks out the very sun as if placing the inhabitants in a contestant night. They say that the very air is heavy with illusion. Gazing at such a forest puts Akazukin at unease, but the path seemed warm and comforting in this dark terrain. Cobblestone wandering and weaving through the trees. Trees as white as snow grew along the path with a particular aura about them. A sweet scent surrounds these trees that attract fire flies as if to light the way.

As she makes her way through the forest she meets a fox siting just off the trail. Her wolf untrusting of the creature gives a low growl, but the fox paid one heed. The fox neither runs away nor attacks, but simply stares at the new entities that would enter its forest. See the fox taking no offensive actions Akazukin told her companion to back down. The fox smiles and bows his head, “Greetings, human child.”

Akazukin bows in turn, “Good day mister fox.”

“It is unusual to see one of your kind so young in this place. Are you lost? I could show you the way out.”

Akazukins shakes her head, “No I’m heading to my grandmother. She lives in this forest. Surely you must know of her.”

The fox gives a nods for he did indeed know off her and not in a good way. Her grandmother would hunt her kind as some sort of sport. The fox could not let this little one live, not that he would not have killed her anyways. Food is food.

So he walks for a short time by the side of Akazukin and then he says to Akazukin, “See how pretty the flowers are about here? Why do you not look around? I believe that you do not hear how sweetly the little birds are singing; you walk gravely along as if you were going to school, while everything else out here in the wood is merry.”

Akazukin raises her eyes and when she saw the sunbeams dancing here and there through the trees, and pretty flowers growing everywhere. Strange she did not notice any of this before now; she was sure it was almost as dark as night. Her mind felt foggy and she did not question the sudden differences. Even her canine companion was walking like it was drunk; tripping its own paws from time to time. “I suppose grandmother would enjoy a bouquet flowers. It is early in the day that I shall still get there in good time.” Completely under the foxes spell Akazukin runs from the path into the woods to look for flowers. Plus whenever she had picked one, she fancied that she saw a still prettier one farther on and ran after it. Deeper and deeper she goes into the woods. When she had gathered so many that she could carry no more, she remembers her grandmother and sets out on her way.

Immediately she finds the path right before her despite coming from the other way. “I don’t know what mom was talking about. I found the path again quite easily.”

Akazukin flows the winding path with canine companion merrily skipping along behind her. The two of them playful ran through the forest following the cobblestone before them as it lead them deeper and deeper into the woods. Eventually she comes across a door, but something was strange. The door was big and round, but also built into a hill. Akazukin did not know much about grandmother’s living arrangements, but she did not seem the type to live in a hole in the ground. However she was not aware of anybody else living in this area, so she knocks on the door.

“Who’s there” Called a voice behind the door and it was warm and familiar. It was her grandmother voice and it put Akazukin at easy to know she finally arrived at her destination.

“It’s me, Grandmother, Akazukin.” She waits for grandmother to open the door and give her a big hug.

“Akazukin my sweet I’ve been expecting you. I’m afraid I’m a little under the weather. I’m too weak and cannot get up. Please let yourself in.”

Akazukin lifts the latch and the door springs open. “Totoro you stay here for now, like a good boy.” She then went straight to the bedroom to meet her grandmother. When she enter the room she calls out to her grandmother, “Good morning” but received no answer; so she went to the bed and drew back the curtains. There lays her grandmother with her night cap looking very strange.

“Oh grandmother, what big ears you have”

“All the better to hear you, my child.” The fox realizes his illusion was slipping with his excitement.

“But grandmother, what big eyes you have”

“All the better to see you with, my dear”

“But grandmother, what large hand you have”

“All the better to hug you with”

“But grandmother, what a terrible big mouth you have!”

“All the better to eat you with!”

Immediately after saying this the fox drops the illusion altogether and attacks. The fox mystically pulls Akazukin’s soul out of her body and eats the whole thing in one bite. Unfortunately the fox seems to have forgot something. Akazukin did not come alone and we he took down the illusion the wolf saw the forest as it truly was. Seeing what was once a house now become a den of fox demons, it ran off to find help.

The wolf finds a travelling priest that has come here to exterminate the demon infestation. The wolf guides the man back to the den and the priest sees the fox and the body of a young girl. The girl shows no signs of being injured. In fact the skin still had some color to it, but it did not look like she was breathing. The priest defeats the fox and inspects the body and finds out that her soul was taken from her. Tearing into the fox’s stomach he retrieves the girl’s soul and places it back into the vessel to which it belongs. However her soul was tainted by the experience like a piece of meat marinated in salsa. Her soul practically oozed with the demons dark energy and as it is returned to her body it begins to change her in ways she does not yet understand. It was if her powers were merging with that of the demons. The element of the demon had an affinity for was not one of the five mastered by man; the foxes affinity was Time.

Time goes by as normal until one faith rainy day. Akazukin was returning to grandmother house only to see a group of bandits ransacking sacking the place. In the corner of the living room laid her grandma on the floor soaked in her own blood. Unable to accept the loss of her near grandmother her consciousness retreats into her mind, but instead of shutting down in some type of nervous breakdown, something else emerges. Her left eye changes and suddenly she finds herself slipping through time. The bandits had no way of defending against her and soon the floors became soaked with their blood.

Akazukin runs away and joins a caravan of entertainers. These entertainer called themselves gypsy and they moved from village to village. Went the cavaran come to suna She goes and registers herself as a shinobi. Being that she had no rank beforehand she was given a test to figure out what rank would best suit her experience and power.

Time Lord Core Ability:
Ripple Effect - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
The rate at which a jutsu is cast and dispelled is variable to a Strider, allowing them to have it break up and attack multiple targets over several rounds, or even the same target over time.
Effect: Any Ninjutsu can be split in damage in up to four pieces (multiple hit Ninjutsu can instead be split into however many hits there are.) Each piece can be set to strike a target up to three rounds in the future. Pieces set to strike during the next round or afterwards receive a +2 accuracy bonus. This cannot be done more than once per round, and no more than two jutsu can be aimed at a single target this way at a time. (Added jutsu can be cast at the same target once previously cast jutsu have reappeared.)

Delayed Action - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
Time being like so much liquid to a Strider, then can easily throw their chakra forwards in it to form into its essence later--even controlling where and when it appears.
Effect: Any Ninjutsu can be cast into the future by up to three rounds (1 Round minimum), gaining a +3 accuracy bonus. Ninjutsu cast in this manner are modded at the beginning of the round they are cast into. This cannot be done more than once per round, and no more than two jutsu can be aimed at a single target this way at a time. (Added jutsu can be cast at the same target once previously cast jutsu have reappeared.)

Hasted Steps - Chakra Style (2 points)
The term "speed kills" is the mission statement of the Temporal Strider. By increasing their chakra output, they can cause all of their actions to quicken.
Effect: While in this style up to two actions per round may be "accelerated" for no additional cost. An "accelerated" attack is modded as being 1 AP faster than it's base AP cost. All jutsu cast by the user cost 5% additional CP.
Note: "Acceleration" may be applied twice to a single attack to cause it to be modded as being 2 AP faster but this spends both of the user's "accelerated" actions for the round.

Fatetwisting - A-Rank Non-elemental Ninjutsu (1 Point, 1 to rank up)
Restriction - A-Rank
Time travel is impossible. This is an immutable truth of the world as such a power simply sits too far outside of the moral scope of ability and treads water into the realm of beings which could be described as divines. That does not mean however that there aren't ways to cheat time. Temporal Striders are able to step into the currents of causality and hop "between" strands of probability... and drag their opponents along with them. This means that any time an opponent would choose to face a Temporal Strider with the proper mix of cunning and strength they do so with the forces of fate itself working against them.

Rank 1: For the duration of one full round the user may select any two actions which require them to roll a d20 and roll an additional d20, taking the result which favors the user more and discarding the other one.
Rank 2: For the duration of one full round the user may select any four actions which require them to roll a d20 and roll an additional d20, taking the result which favors the user more and discarding the other one.

Rank 1 Cost: 3 AP and 2,500 CP
Rank 2 Cost: 3 AP and 3125 CP

Note(s):
- Selecting an action does not cost additional CP or AP and likewise is modded as instantaneous as a result. Casting Fatetwisting still takes time as normal however. Additional rolls last until they are spent but do not stack. If the user casts Fatetwisting while they have lingering additional rolls the amount of rolls they have available is set to the amount which is normal for the rank that they know Fatetwisting at.
- User may select an opponent's action which is targeting them as long as there is a d20 roll involved on the part of the user (e.g. "If my opponent uses a Called Shot on me I would like to spend one of my additional rolls on the Called Shot success chance"). This is done reflexively and therefore requires a conditional.
- If an action contains multiple d20 rolls (e.g. a Ninjutsu attack which has a Secondary Effect) the user must specify which d20 roll they are choosing to roll an additional d20 for. The user may spend more than one roll on a single action but each roll must apply to a different d20 roll occurring as a part of the action. In the case of actions which have built in re-roll effects (such as the Feint Affinity Move) spending an additional roll only applies to one of those rolls of the user's choice -- not both.
- User may not ever roll more than one additional d20 for a single roll.

Ritual Casting – Passive (3 points)
Tsuchimikado practice the way of Onmyodo, and a telltale sign of this are the Ofuda that they wield in battle; slips of paper inscribed with mystic seals. These special charms are what they use to perform their techniques in place of handseals.

Rank 1: The user gains 1 Talismans at the start of each round (unused ones carry over and stack to a maximum of 3). A talisman may be used to cast Ninjutsu or Genjutsu with One-Handed Seals.
Rank 2: The user gains 2 Talismans at the start of each round (unused ones carry over and stack to a maximum of 4). A talisman may be used to cast Ninjutsu or Genjutsu with One-Handed Seals.
Rank 3: The user gains 3 Talismans at the start of each round (unused ones carry over and stack to a maximum of 5). A talisman may be used to cast Ninjutsu or Genjutsu with One-Handed Seals.

Special Action: When performing a Jutsu in this way, the user may set the talisman as a Seal rather than using it normally; the jutsu will not be cast until the seal is triggered. Seals are considered targets during battle, and are destroyed by attacks aimed at them (they cannot dodge, and are not valid targets for enrage/redirection-type effects). They are also targetable via Called Shot: Weapon, which will dispel them with no chance of triggering it. Untriggered seals count against the user's total Talismans, and cost 1% Max Cp upon using this action and at the start of each round maintained. The user chooses one of the following which will activate the Seal;
• The seal will trigger when [X] is hit by an attack (X is a target of the user's choice, chosen upon casting), targeting the one who attacked them. This setting will not trigger the round it is set.
• The Seal will trigger one or two rounds later from the time it was cast (user's choice upon casting it)', targeting a target of the user's choice (also chosen upon casting).
• The Seal will trigger when the user no longer maintains it, targeting someone at random.
• The Seal will trigger when someone attempts to destroy it through any method other than a Called Shot: Weapon, targeting the one who attacked it.
Note:
- A seal's trigger may be seen by those with the Insight ability.
- May not have the same Jutsu sealed multiple times simultaneously.

Divination - Independent Special Move (2 points)
The Onmyou are capable of sensing the natural order of the world, and through occultic means may read the fates of themselves and those around them. Though vague, this insight is more than mere fortune telling, and can often guide them on the proper course of action for themselves and others.

Effect: The makes 3 rolls, which are saved for later use in the following round or the round after (if still unused after that, it is lost). The user may replace any d20 roll in battle with one of these stored rolls for no cost, at which point it is spent. May be used once per round, and any unused rolls from previous rounds are discarded if recast.
• Rank 1: When the user is told what their rolls are, they categorized as either; Unlikely (1-10) or Likely (11-20)
• Rank 2: When the user is told what their rolls are, they are categorized as either; Unlikely (1-8), Time will tell (9-12) or Likely (13-20)
• Rank 3: When the user is told what their rolls are, they are categorized as either; Misfortune (1-4), Don't count on it (5-8), Time will tell (9-12), Likely (13-16), Great Fortune (17-20)
Cost: 1 AP, 500 Cp

Notes:
- The user is told what results for their rolls are at the end of the round this is used. They are not given the exact number, but instead various phrases that grow more accurate depending on this jutsu's rank.

Ofuda Sealing Tag - Non-Elemental Ninjutsu (2 points)
Through the use of their onmyoudo ability, the Tsuchimikado may consecrate a special tag used to drive off negative forces. These tags are said to ward against vengeful spirits and misfortune, and make it difficult to act on feelings of aggression.

Rank 1: Sets a sealing tag on the target. While on the target, the victim suffers a -1 penalty to any 'check' they make. Lasts 2 rounds.
Rank 2: Sets a sealing tag on the target at +1 Accuracy. While on the target, the victim suffers a -2 penalty to any 'check' they make. Lasts 2 rounds.
Rank 3: Sets a sealing tag on the target at +2 Accuracy. While on the target, the victim suffers a -2 penalty to any 'check' they make. Lasts 3 rounds.

Cost: 1.5 AP, 300 Cp/Rnd

Notes:
- May be cast through barriers (including Omnyou Warding) and prison binds. May be used on a bound target without dispelling the bind.
- A victim may attempt to remove the tag for 1 Ap; this requires a Ninjutsu check, and may only be attempted once per round. Failing this check deals 2% Max Hp damage.

Renewal - Independent Special Move (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up.
Sometimes, the Strider does not like what the last few seconds did to them. So they undo it, at least for themselves and whatever hit them. It can be quite the baffling sight to those unsure what just happened.
Effect: Negates the effects of the last jutsu to hit the user. This includes all damage, debuffs, bleed increase, chakra loss, bindings, poisoning, and sealing. Can only be used three times per battle.

Danger Sense - Passive (2 points)
A Temporal Strider occasionally experiences flashes of what is to come during battle. These precognitive flashes of insight allow them to more effectively predict and evade an opponent's attack before the attack is even performed.
Effect: +10% Auto-Dodge

Note(s):

Special Action: When performing a Jutsu in this way, the user may set the talisman as a Seal rather than using it normally; the jutsu will not be cast until the seal is triggered. Seals are considered targets during battle, and are destroyed by attacks aimed at them (they cannot dodge, and are not valid targets for enrage/redirection-type effects). They are also targetable via Called Shot: Weapon, which will dispel them with no chance of triggering it. Untriggered seals count against the user's total Talismans, and cost 1% Max Cp upon using this action and at the start of each round maintained. The user chooses one of the following which will activate the Seal;

RP: Akazukin was on her daily hunt with her canine companion. “Come on Totoro.” While her parents took an animalistic approach to hunting their prey, her grandmother taught her how to be a trapper. She would teach little Akazukin on her visits how to create special scrolls that can hold jutsu in them and will detonate according to the set trigger. It sounds quite common, but Grandmother’s ways was far from casual. Her arts leans towards being religious in practice.

After locking her door she stands there and makes her usual pray. “I am far from the bones of my ancestors, but if there is some friendly spirit that will hear my request. Guide my aim today at let my hunt be prosperous.” Akazukin remembers her grandmother teaching her this pray. It was the root the art of the trapper. Her Grandmother was a spiritualist type that asked the spirits for aid and Akazukin would learn to do the same. Akakuzkin places a paper talisman on the front of the door, according to her grandmother it was a type of ward. Grandmother had all sorts of unique barriers, but it is unfortunately Akazukin lost touch to most of them when she became awaken to the powers of Time. Still practices the old rituals in memory of her beloved grandmother. “Okay Totoro let’s get going. It will be daylight soon.” Her dog gives a happy bark eager to get started and follows after her as she heads out to the great desert of Suna.
