Running toward the Phoenix Gate with all his speed Shinobu heard the sounds of a battle already well underway. "Running late as usual dummy, but it couldn't be helped, there was business in Stone I had to take care of, business that might be important to Leaf." Determination on his face, the large nosed shinobi picked up the pace and began jumping over obstacles with leaps and bounds.
The chaos of the gate was spilling over into the forests and Shinobu dodged a stray bolt of lightning , the smell of ionized air polluted his senses. From around him all of a sudden a ringing of sound pierced his ears and caused him to drop to his knees. While subdued on the ground a pair of samurai charged him, the sword strikes cut deep into his back flaying the flesh open. Standing as they made a tactical step back he pulled out a handful of sawblade shirukens and said. "My turn now"

"Yes, we are in now, this is my chance to make a new name for myself, I will never run from Konoha again, now I only run to protect this place." moving forward he tried to join one of the teams going through when a squad captain stopped him. His wounds were too grievous, Shinobu was assigned to patrol the outer wall, sensing for anyone trying to flee. Disappointment was his first reaction, then he shook it off and looked at the walls and gate before him.
"No complaints from me, I will do whatever task will serve this city, I will do whatever I can to protect my home."
