Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Fuu was born into the Yamanaka Clan, as such she shares the genetic profile and propensities of this secretive clan she has also realized the bloodline limit of this clan fully. Known as the 'Mind Clan', it was unsurprising that the Yamanaka side of her family had close ties with the Oracle Order. Yamanakas possess a sharp mentality that not only enables them to cast powerful illusions, but also have the unique ability to project their consciousness outwards to directly manipulate the wills of others. These were useful skills, desired among Oracles. Her parents were intellectuals, her mother a quicklearner and a professor, her father a Yamanaka and psychotherapist. Their beautiful minds was what attracted them to each other and it was as if she was genetically predisposed to become an Oracle. Becoming an Oracle as a position of prestige in the eyes of the Yamanaka Clan elders so it was encouraged that she join. She was the youngest of three, her brother and sister were also rather clever children but they had their mothers quick learner genetic traits more so than their father's. They did not apply to become Oracles, only Fuu did as a young child. Her mental fortitude was apparent from a young age, she had the uncanny ability to see through lies and illusions in her earliest years. As she matured, so did her mental prowess. She would be accepted into the Oracle order and she would eventually become a masterful illusionist at the expense of her physical skill some could say.

Presently she spends her days hiding, observing and recording.

Fuu was never conscripted into the ANBU Branch, however she observed the ANBU Branch intently and they have observed her. Over the past few years she had earned not only their attention but also their ire. Her association with the Oracle Order, her potential wealth of information, her association with the terrorist group known as the Cabal, her association with the Soverign and the Diamyo has placed her under the magnifying glass. As such Fuu has learned through observation how the ANBU work but she has garnered no benefit beyond the emulation of their skillset. Similarly, she has not gained the respect of civilians and shinobis alike as she held no recognized rank in this branch.

She has no particular aspirations to become an ANBU beyond the fact that she might be able to learn something among their ranks. In truth she is apprehensive being associated with this branch. She feels that she has earned the ire of two Sennins associated with the branch: Sennin Roku and Kazuki.

Fuu was never conscripted into Sunagakure as a Sunan shinobi, however she is considered to be a security risk. She has recorded a number of their secrets and it is likely she has observed much that has not been transcribed. In addition to this, she was also a veritable oasis of information regarding Sora, the Daimyo and the lost Orders. While she is not a recognized member of Sunagakure, thus not the recipient of the respect and authority that comes with the rank but she is considered to be an S Rank threat. One that they would not willing wish to see leave Wind Country or return to the Daimyo. So her 'position' in Sunagakure is tenuous at best. She knows if she tries to run, she will have yet another enemy. She believes that she is frequently being followed, she is likely not wrong but she is good at hiding. They know that she has not left the country and that she has not reconnected with the Soverign, however the exact place where she rests her head can only be speculated.

Character's Physical Description:
  • Application said:
Fuu has two known physical descriptions. Her first physical description was that of a female that stood five foot 6 inches and weighed about 130 pounds. A thin build with a plain face and basic, utilitarian attire. Her hair was snow white, cut into a short bob with wisps of hair tucked behind her ears. Her eyes brown. Her skin a milky white. She could be quite pretty if she made an effort but she was opposed to this, beautiful people were noticed. She had two defining traits, the first being a trio of seals that were burned into her body. The second being her compulsive need to record. She usually has a book and a pen in hand and can be seen taking notes during her idle moments.

Fuu was transformed into a Deep Court Hybrid a few years ago. To escape Nao's seals she had to die, so die she did. Her body and her memory have survived but she was changed both physically and mentally. As her physical appearance is what is relevant here, one could say she got smaller. She presently stands at 5 foot 2 inches and weighs approximately 103 lbs. Her short white hair turned dark and she has been trying to let it grow long but it is a slow process. She has not become vain, and continues to dress plainly in utilitarian garb and she does not wear make-up. The scars from where she was previously sealed remain in place but few know of their relative location. The exceptions being Roku, Mikaboshi, Katsuo, and Kazuki because she has either shown them the markings or she lacked covering during a time that they interacted. In addition, her compulsion to write notes remains unchanged from before, she is often found with a large book with a pen in hand.

Character's Mental Description:
  • Application said:
She is serious but a more accurate statement is that she is socially awkward. She was isolated as a Oracle hopeful during her youngest years and while she was imprisoned during her youth as a potential Soverign candidate and prisoner she missed a number of milestones and social interactions normal people experience. She never had a boyfriend. She never had a period of adolescent rebellion. Most of her life was about succeeding or surviving, not about friends. Due to her upbringing she does not yearn for this but that is only because you cannot desire what you do not know. Maslow put it best when he found a hierarchical relationship between certain needs being met before higher needs needed to be actualized. At this present time she seeks a sense of safety and security. While she is free from Nao's influence she does not feel that way, she is a wanted woman by more than one party and this pervades her thoughts. She is always looking over her shoulder, hiding in the shadows.

She can be manipulative when necessary but she prefers to take a truthful approach so her lies are often short-lived. As a Deep Court Ancient Hybrid she cannot lie but half-truths can be told and due to the duplicitous nature of Deep Court Ancients she does do this unnecessarily sometimes without realizing.

She does not desire the things most people do -- love, a family, friendship. These are ideas she had forgotten about a long time ago and she does not consider them possible or feasible. She wants to learn and see new things and is enamored by this. She trusts only one person: Kaito, her longest friend, but they are not presently on good-terms. She turned on him and attempted to force him to hybridize. It was an attempt to save his life, she was aware of the effect Ancient hybridization had on her own body and while it was only a hypothesis, she felt that it might keep his illness at bay. Kaito is dying from cancer, it is end stage and this far he has declined any treatment. In truth, he wants to die.

She is viewed as a Deep Court loyalist by some due to the hybridization that made her a member of the Deep Court. in truth she fears Mikaboshi. He freed her from Nao's curse and hybridized her in the process. She does not think Mikaboshi is 'good' and feels threatened by him. She discovered the fact that he was possessing Katsuo and that he was alive through unfortunate means. She was not proud of what she did to pull Katsuo away from Mikaboshi for that moment but she had to know if he was still alive. She does feel indebted to Mikaboshi because he liberated her when nobody else would and she has a sense of honor, she will repay him before she moves on.

She is bitter and she is scared. Bitter because her life was wasted in more ways than one. Scared because she does not feel that there is anybody that she can trust. Because of this she has been honing her new body, she is trying to get stronger. Stronger before she gets killed or caught. She spends the early morning hours exercising, she emulates examples in books primarily.

She is intelligent and curious. She likes to learn new things. It is all she knows. While she has not experienced much, she has lived many lives through the books she has read.

Multiple Personality Application:
  • At first it started as a game in the basement of the Soverign Academy. "If I could be any person, who would that be?" At first it was frivolous things such as a princess or a dragon but as time went on and the hunger grew sharper. It was progressive of course, she stopped thinking who and instead considered what. Someone strong. Someone who was not afraid. Someone who was more clever than she was. She started to define how this her would respond and acted in accordance. How this her would be 'better.' She would give this persona a name, 'Fuu.' It was not her true name but rather the name the Oracles has given her, she had forgotten her first name and the Soverign had given her another. That was one of the first steps, revoking their identity. When they did this she made a new one.

She took on this personality as needed, it represented her almost inhuman or rather inhumane ability to monitor and record despite the carnage. Her ability to think analytically and without passion. It represented her role as an Oracle and for a time this was not a secondary persona but her primary persona. It was better than who she truly was. It was dangerous to be who she was. To express her fears and her aspirations. To pursue her ambitions. So she let her true self sink away, it was always there screaming just beneath the surface.

This persona does not serve as a kill switch but it gives her the ability to do what this young Oracle was not normally capable or willing to do. She always has control over this or she liked to believe it. In truth she forgot that this was only a facade, it became a true part of her. She was always cognizant of what she is doing and why, to claim otherwise would be a lie. With her hybridization into a Deep Court hybrid, her previous passions and her true sentiments came out, that she portrayed was a lie. In truth, underneath it all she was always angry and she was always scared. She would not have said anything if she was working under her created, uncaring persona but deep down beneath it all she felt everything. She had been treated as intrinsically worthless most of her life, used only for the information that she could share. A fact that a part of her almost agreed with, that was why she was willing to risk her life to tell Sunagakure secret truths at a risk to herself. In the end they did not use that information and they came for her. They would keep coming for her and she would have to die. She would die and it would be for nothing!

Still her persona pushed it down... deep below her calm surface.

She was able to do so until the shadows replaced a part of her soul. Then she felt things, things so much more intensely than before. She could not choose to be stoic, not like she could before. She was a serious person by nature certainly but her expressions were lies. She could not lie. But the persona she created, in one sense or another existed in her somewhere. It has been who she was for so long. So it was there, somewhere deep down...

Character History:
  • Application said:
She was once known as Fuu, but even that is not her real name. Her real name would have been whatever her parents gave her but from her earliest memories she was only called Fuu. It meant 'Wind' and was a celebration of the Country that she represented in the Order. For some reason the name 'Michi' always stuck in her mind as the name her parents had intended, she liked the sound of it if nothing else.

She was Three. From a very young age, people could see something in her -- she was intended to be an Oracle. An Oracle was someone who was a part of an Order of men and women that dedicated their lives to transcribing history. They were not intended to be participants but rather passionless observers. This was not a natural but a learned state for Fuu. Most learn this through meditation, she learned it through repeated psychological trauma years later. This was the earliest truth she knew as a child, to deny her passions and her wants and to learn everything that there was to know. This was something she did as successfully as a child could but she was a good student and she had a mind that would likely one day rival the greatest scholars as well as a steady hand that could draw what her eyes saw with such photorealism it was hard to believe that they were merely drawings.

She was Six. She was just a mere child when it happened, when the Diamyo's men attacked. The weeks the preceded the attack the Oracles knew it was coming, or so she later realized. They had transported her along with the other youths like her from city to city several times in a matter of weeks without explanation. The doors were locked and there was even a few hired guards before they came. Fuu was the youngest Oracle at the time, the Order itself never required many and she was an apprentice who would likely be learning under her master for another decade before she was on her own. The Oracles were powerful in their own way, they tried to defend themselves using their wit when their strength failed them but most of them died. Those that were not killed were captured, she was taken as were a few others. She never learned what happened to the rest although she did ask, but they were older and she feared they were less compliant and likely killed or so she concluded.

She was nearly Eight. Her time locked away in the Palace of the Glorious Immortal was not terrible in comparison to the fate of so many others. Yes, she was trained as a Soverign and she suffered and survived as they did but her mind was resilient. Perhaps it was in part due to her Oracle training or the Yamanaka bloodline limit. She was not malleable they concluded. The could have killed her, she would have been too weak in her younger years to resist but she was a resource. Rather than die and rather than build another child warrior she would be of greater use if she lived up to her potential so she was expected to learn. She was expected to fulfill her fate and become a true Oracle but under the Diamyo's sole command. And she did just that by the time she was sixteen. With the proper resources she demonstrated what a brilliant mind could achieve, she would have been the youngest Oracle in Sunan history.

Perhaps her mind or mental fortitude was why the Diamyo took an interest in her or perhaps it was simply a whim or the product of convenience. Their time together was not consensual and she became pregnant with a son that she would name Shouki meaning "sanity" ironically. Hers was dwindling, despite her great mental fortitude, years of limitations and birth that was the product of force her once desire to maintain was 'sanity.' She thought she would find that in her son, but he was taken from her as soon as he could survive free from her bosom. It was then that something sparked within her, a hint of passion and intent. She would be free of this place and she would take her son with her. It could have been her maternal instinct or the fact that she was no longer a child and in time she would have sought freedom regardless, whatever the reason she wanted to be free.

With time and effort she did just that. She broke out of her cell when she was nineteen -- a glorified library filled with tomes she she written as well as many others she had read through. Before she ran she hid and she watched. She found her son, by now a toddler as it took her several months to formulate an escape. She could see it in his eyes, he was his father's son. How he screeched. How his chubby little arms swung. How he attacked those small animals. He was not her son, he was a monstrosity. Perhaps it was a product of nature... of nurture... Perhaps if she was a better woman, someone willing to try to make him overcome these impulses, things could have been different but she did not take him. She was appalled by him and she ran into the desert wilderness.

She made a living, scraping by using her knowledge or lore and literature to support a meager lifestyle. She had no desire for wealth, only freedom. Eventually she would be found of course, by an adventurer named Kaito accompanied by a few friends. They were seeking lost and forgotten artifacts and they were seeking a local lore expert to learn more. She supplied them with whatever information they sought for a reasonable price, eventually they took her under their employ, offering her the one thing she truly wanted -- a chance to see the world and expand what she knew. She was twenty two at the time, this was her prime. Yes, she was a coward for avoiding the Diamyo and for never returning for her son. She never shared what Shiro did to her. What he was doing. She watched as the storm which isolated the various cities gave him the oppertunity to consolidate his power. She knew he was getting stronger. She knew what happened to those missing children that nobody lamented. She never tried to undermine him even when she noticed his influence spread. Perhaps if she had, things would have been different, but she was scared. She was always scared.

She was also not very good at hiding. She was seen a number of times with the Cabal, while not particularly famous they were well known and their descriptions eventually got back to the Diamyo after they uncovered a particularly rare artifact. It was a set of twelve silver rings, one that she would eventually wear before she gave it away to Kasha. He was able to observe her from afar and he knew about her dealings for years before Shouki was sent to find her. Eventually Shiro sent Shouki in search of his 'mother.' Shouki knew full well who Fuu was to him, it only made their interaction worse. Perhaps the Diamyo was testing Shouki's cruelty or resolve. If so, no test was necessary, Shouki was a monster through and through. It was more humorous than anything else.

Shouki would have been fifteen, going on sixteen when he was sent to find Fuu. He already had the body of a man and stood at nearly six feet in height even then. Shouki would find her when she was apart from the group he attacked her and beat her nearly to death before he dragged the unconscious Oracle back to the Diamyo. Upon doing so she spent weeks in the Soverign Academy, there were several attempts to reprogram her a second time but all of the attempts failed. Torture was involved in the conditioning as was genjutsus. The techniques were more refined in the modern day and they would have been effective if she had not already learned how to cope with the torment through the use of her persona. She was able to not only keep a grip on reality but also on her resolve that she was her own person. Because of this, they had to find another way. A seals expert named Nao sealed her with 3 distinct seals that ensured the Diamyo could maintain control over her. It was effective. She was sent back to the Cabal and with the threat of death if she shared what happened to her, Shouki was there to ensure that this threat of death would become a reality. It was a secret she maintained for a long time. Shouki was added as a member of the Cabal and was an active member for nearly a year before they were summoned by the Diamyo for a mission/adventure to Sunagakure. Everyone was involved, but everyone had a different reason and purpose to be there. Fuu was just supposed to record.

The attack was a success. The Cabal overtook the city and they were going to destroy it. Fuu dutifully recorded their dying days. That was until she saw what she believed was 'hope.' A vigilante named Kasha that was defending the weak despite the anarchy. She pleaded with him to run after seeing his dedication to justice with her own eyes. A true hero is a rare things, she would know. She shared what she knew of an escape with him in hopes that he would take it. That perhaps in time he would be the hero Sunagakure needed. She would also gift him with something -- her ring. Her ring was bound to the Bird Contract, she hoped that it would protect him so that they would meet again.

They would both survive. Sunagakure would even survive. Most of the Cabal would be captured. She would be a criminal that was not actively hunted but still sought. So she hid. She watched. That was what she was supposed to do and she did it. She was sharing her findings with the Diamyo. She had no choice, she was compelled to do so but she also tried to get help. She sought out heroes. She sought Kasha and fed him information. She sought a mysterious foreigner that seemed to stand out from the rest, Kazuki and did the same with them. The information she shared would prove useless and irrelevant, they did nothing with their findings. The Diamyo would grow suspicious of her over time and a part of her knew it. She also knew the Diamyo was preparing to act soon, so she prevented herself from intervening the only way she knew how. She picked a fight with Kasha. She was beaten. Her timing was poor, the Soverign had come for her and nearly killed her in her weakened state but Kasha was able to drag her to safety. Safety was the Obsidian Palace. When she regained consciousness she gave what little else she knew to a pair of Sennins and attacked herself to ensure that she would not return to the Diamyo but she knew that her days were numbered and that she would be dead within the week. They wanted her dead and those seals would compel her to her doom.

She was left alone, unconscious in the Obsidian with a pair of guards at the door. Deep Court Lord Mikaboshi took this as an oppertunity and he procured some information from Fuu as well, transforming her in the process into a hybrid of the Deep Court. Doing so severed the hold the seals has over her and he then granted her freedom from the Obsidian. In doing such, Fuu, now known as Michi owed the Lord a great debt she would one day repay. She shared with Mikaboshi what she knew of the Soverign and was brought to speak before the Sennins and Kazekage. She did not have kind words for them. She felt betrayed because they did nothing with what she shared and continued to do nothing. What she knew was now old and getting more outdated by the second. She rebuked them for their lack of resolve and perhaps made enemies doing such before she left but she decided it was time to take matters into her own hands.

She gathered two former allies -- Kaito and Naganisa and brought them before Mikaboshi. Her intent was two-fold -- to reveal the Sunahoshi beneath the mask and to empower her allies as their strength was waning.

She would sneak out of Sunagakure, she went to the badlands in search of a treasure. A construct from Baylos, a city of forgotten wonder. She was going to sell it to the highest bidder once she found it, the technology was fantastical but it was old. She could not only replicate it but improve upon it. She just needed the funds to do so. That was where the bidders came in, she would repay Mikaboshi and release Katsuo in a single gesture if she could provide a residence for the Ancient amalgamation of shadow. It would not work out, she would be double crossed. The buyer wanted both her findings as well as her, there was a price on her head and a value in learning what she knew. She would fight her way to freedom and make her way back to Sunagakure in time to learn two things:

    First, her son was dead.

Second, there was World Martial Arts Tournament about to start, hosted by Tea Country.

    She needed Kasha.

Kinjutsu Application: Grandeur Phantom
  • She was nearly eight years old when this limit was realized. It started during the time she was locked away in the Palace of the Glorious Immortal. Indeed, her time in the Palace and later the Soverign Academy was not terrible in comparison to the fate so many others endured. Soverign Training was done to the young. To the ones that would not be missed because most would not survive the process. She was durable enough to endure but she also possessed the mental fortitude to withstand their attempts but it would only be a matter of time before she either cracked or died like all the rest.

It started as a game in the basement of the Soverign Academy. Number fourteen.

That was one of the first steps, revoking their identity. The irony was, her true name and identity was revoked years ago. They gave her instead an impersonal number, but as humans we always needed to assign meaning so even her name had a meaning. It meant that there were at least thirteen others besides herself, Eventually her name would become thirteen and twelve, that was because she had outlived two of her predecessors. They told her this, that was how she knew. It was quite cruel telling a child this but this was simply a matter of life.

She endured all the same, strong enough in body to survive despite always believing that she was weak perhaps she was stronger than she had credited herself. Her mind was another matter, being intelligent did not mean that she was stable. She was, stable that is but sanity can be rocked if given enough time. They started simply of course, making her hungry and cold. She was not alone of course, she was with others and then they would toss a few slices of bread or a threadbare blanket down the hatch and the children would claw at each other until one emerged victorious. At first the children would hold onto the morals their parents taught them if they did not already knew the way of the world. In fact that was how one could tell the streetrat from the recent orphan. Parents often raised their children well, and they suffered for it. At first she did what all 'good' children did. Proclaim that they could... should share but she quickly realized that was not going to happen. She that part of her was tucked away. She was not proud of it but she fought to survive like the rest.

That would prove to be the first step of many, to reduce a child to a beast. Her true self was reduced to such, but she had a semblance of intelligence. They thought it was because she could resist them but she was not that much stronger than the best. She just lied. She was barely holding onto her sanity so she made herself into a new person first inside her mind and through a shear force of will, a powerful intellect and necessity. She took on a new personality as needed, it represented her almost inhuman or rather inhumane ability to monitor and record despite the carnage. Here it demonstrated her ability to impassively do as requested but to maintain cognition throughout. Her ability to think analytically and without passion was . It represented her role as an Oracle and for a time it was the key to her survival. It became her primary persona over time, she forgot who she was. This 'person' she created was better than who she truly was. It was dangerous to be who she was. To express her fears and her aspirations. To pursue her ambitions. To feel or at least express her anger and her passion. So she let her true self sink away, it never left entirely. It was always there screaming just beneath the surface.

This persona was never a 'kill switch,' if anything this was a less violent side. It gave her the ability to do what this young Oracle was not normally capable or willing to do. She slept better before she was changed, even with her autonomy at risk and death being dangled in front of her she was able to how you say... fake it until she could make it. Now she wakes up screaming. Her abandonment of Shouki bothers her, she regrets something she never regretted consciously before. His death creeps into the back of her mind as well. Even her former association with the Diamyo, before she ran. She saw the interaction differently. Shouki was born from an act of violence but there was a passion involved. It was not simply a physical act, if that was true there would be dozens of other bastards like hers. Emotions were always something she overlooked when her persona was in control unless she was actively looking for them.

She had made new enemies as well. Egos are fragile, none more than a Sunan in power. It seemed to be a trait. She would not have said anything. She should not have said anything, it would have been better for her. If her persona was in control, that lie that seemed to now lurk in her shadow rather than her head, she would not have told them what she did. But she felt betrayed. She felt as if she had no value in their eyes. She had been treated as intrinsically worthless most of her life, used only for the information that she could share. A fact that a part of her almost agreed with, that was why she was willing to risk her life to tell Sunagakure secret truths at a risk to herself, it was all she was good for. In the end they did not use that information, even that had no value and the Soverign came for her. They would keep coming for her and she would have to die. She would die and it would be for nothing and she knew it!

She tried to push it down, push it away to the darker places. To her shadow where the 'better' self seemed to dwell. Her persona, or rather shadow had no space so she lashed out. What she said was the truth but it was not a truth they wanted or cared to hear.

This persona saved her a number of times, something she has appreciated. It helped her keep her sanity, at least what threads remained when she was captured by the Diamyo a second time and they failed to reprogram her. It helped her not cry when her son died although she does now when nobody is looking. She failed Shouki probably most of all, her fear was why she abandoned him with that monster. All he ever knew was what Shiro taught him. He did not have a chance. It was not his fault. His father was cruel and in a way she was too. It was her fault as well wasn't it? What was fake was becoming so very real. It had consumed her until Mikaboshi had split her in twain. Ironically, she was likely a 'better' person with this persona.

And that was how her shadow became her second ego. Rarely a neat little package. Rarely works out. Ironic that the one thing she wants is to be able to place that mask back on.

This is not an epic story, but it is the truth.

How did she stumble upon the Bird Contract? The truth be told, she didn't, it came to her. You see, the world is filled with fantastical creatures and powers we can barely fathom and the world is older than we often credit it. Contracts are often made on paper, signed with ink or blood but that was not the old way. Or at least the oldest way. Before there were words there were pictures and before there was pictures there was gestures and grunts and before that...? Well, there never was a before that one could assume because mankind was not the first creature to breathe this desert air and it is likely that they would not be the last either.

She was given a ring. Or rather, the Cabal found a store of rings and they kept them for themselves. They were silver and of mediocre value if one was to assign the ring value based on the metal from which they were forged. They did not understand what these rings did, the links they had to something greater than a bauble. They seemed decorate, if not a tad macabre. It was a simple, silver ring with a small razor that was hidden in the small metallic bit of jewelry. A hidden weapon they supposed, but it was hardly there for aesthetic or defense. The ability to use the rings was a "gift" one could say from her benefactor Nao. It was how the Cabal came to trust the Daimyo at his word, because they offered the adventuring troupe 'power' for no reason. Of course there was a reason, nobody works for free. Trust and compliance was more than compensation.

Nao would explain the artifact. It was a proxy medium for the pen and paper contracts between men and fantastical creatures with unbelievable power from another realm. The contract was bound with blood from the razor that would cut their finger and call the creature from places beyond. These rings could be traced back to the first men, an old journeyman project that was later forbidden for reasons he neglected to share. Each of the Cabal contracted themselves with a different creature. Urufuu -- canine. Naganisa -- snake. Kaito -- demon. Saiga - marine mammal. Herself - birds.

The ring worked of course. They came when her blood was spilled and they were complaint. There was no love, no relationship between them. The contract was one of compulsion and control, it seemed to be Nao's trademark. Time, circumstance and necessity would cause some sort of relationship to grow. They were the same, prisoners bound to powers beyond their control. They each had a passion, something that they wished to achieve. She wanted to learn, to experience the world because learning was progress and progress was living. Similarly, the bird that responded to her bloodied call had wants. nothing in this world was truly content, least of all prisoners.

They would adventure. She had her desire to learn, to explore and to see the world. Her feathered compatriot was more than willing to accompany. She wondered what the bird wanted and she would eventually stumble onto this truth. Fuu was studying a manual, it was a religious tome dedicated to a dead god. Ava, diminutive for Avian as she called her feathered ally came and went as she pleased. Ava of course inquired over the purpose of the book. It seemed silly to place human faith in religious mythology when true power and real gods existed. Fuu agreed, it was one of the few things they agreed on at this point. However she was looking for an artifact and hopeful that a clue would be found in this book, the oldest manuscript of Jashinism she could find. She did not explain why, Ava would not care. It was a secret ambition of hers to find a way to destroy the link between Jashin and her son and that was something that mattered not to a bird. Fuu simply said that it would be worth something if she could find it. A ruse that Ava accepted without thought.

Fuu had found the legendary resting place of a ceremonial dagger or so she thought. She was still a member of the Cabal at the time and she encouraged her fellow adventurers to journey to the badlands in the hopes of uncovering treasure. She needed their strength to open the hatches, their survivalist skills to traverse the desert. Fuu searched the ruined temple and she thought that she would never find the dagger; other loot was uncovered much to the elation of her teammates but the buried church was also trapped.

It was a logic puzzle ironically enough, something she was good at. Better than most at the very least. She had tripped the trap and was separated from her party. Her party had already left her alone to scavenge and research. It would be days, perhaps even weeks before they discovered that she was missing. Attempts to break out physically were futile. Ava would materialize, she was curious.

Nine jars of blood. One jar had the weight of excess, of indulgence and lacked pain. This jar was 'bad-blood' or so the chamber wall claimed. This bad blood needed to be drained whilst the blood of the righteous sadists had to be preserved in their jars. There was a scale and the wall warned that she could only use the scale thrice to find his 'heavy blood.' She would list the jars and they would all feel the same, the difference was minuscule and she briefly considered dropping one of the blood jars into the drain at random to open the gates but she thought better of it. It was conceivable that something awful would happen if they attempted to circumvent the warning. Ava were out, intrigued by these scales. Their interest was more metaphorical, so this was ironic in a sense.

It took Fuu several moments to come up with the solution. It was a logic puzzle. Is was indeed possible to isolate the counterfeit blood with only two weighings.

To find a solution, one only had to first consider the maximum number of items from which one can find the heavier one in just one weighing. The maximum number possible is three. To find the heavier one she could compare any stack of three jars , leaving the third out. If the stacks tested weigh the same, then the heavier blood must be one of the stack of three that was not on the scale. Otherwise, it is the one indicated as heavier by the balance. She was able to identify the 'heavy' blood and she poured the jar out. When she did, a dagger would fall to the floor. The dagger.

The door remained locked however, there riddle did not provide for her an escape. It never intended to. Jashinism was about sacrifice, not success. The dagger was there because she needed to spill her blood. Ava credited her cleverness but had no intention of aiding her. She laughed at the foolish, 'smart' mortal and then attempted to return to her contract realm, respect lost. They were no able to and for them a moment of panic set in. Was it the temple or the 'dead god' being less dead than they thought it was hard to say but they were not going anywhere as long as they were trapped in this room.

Fuu would search the rest of the room, attempting to glean something from the pictographs on the wall or the barrier that prevented their escape. Teamwork would be necessary to escape, something she and Ava lacked even if Ava could be complaint. She did not want a complaint servant but rather an ally. Something that Fuu would admit. It was their squabble and their moment of selfishness that would give her a eureka moment. The puzzle was simple once you realized two things: Jashin was cruel and he was a sadist. The answer was to pour one of the 'lighter' bottles of blood down the drain. Doing so caused a mechanism in the door to *click* and they were able to leave the room intact. Of course they had injuries, the initial assumption was that Jashin desired a sacrifice which inevitably led to a scuffle by design and the mishandling of the dagger. That was likely the rooms intention considering the setting.

Once they discovered that they were playing into this blood god's hand and they allowed clearer minds to prevail they ultimately decided that working together would be better than working against eachother. They could compliment each other, grant balance and make each other stronger. That loyalty was necessary if they were to work together. That a ring was not necessary for those that could work together.

After that day the ring was no longer necessary to call on Ava, blood was spilled and her name was written in blood on their contract even if she had not penned it with her own hand. They would never become friends but they would become allies.

**Custom Contract will be written upon acceptance.

Re: Shiori (Sand) ==> Fuu (Sand) - WIP

Class is fine.
History is fine.
Branch ... I'm not going to comment on, will get a Broku in here.
Multiple Personality Disorder ... huh. Okay neat. Sure.
Jutsu Swaps ... nothing is being done. Okay.
Kinjutsu. Alrighty. Good.
Bloodline ... uh yup. I expected Quick Learner considering her npc stats.
Family line ... *looks at his own* *Looks at user name* I'm not willing to take you aboard at this moment. The last time I had a sister figure that went great.
Contract: I'll poke someone I know to look at this.

Your math looks fine to me?

Fuu is only 37. That is insane. Good lord. I thought she was like ... 40 or 50. Not that this is an issue for me, but considering Shouki's age. Ah... hrm. Okay.

Re: Shiori (Sand) ==> Fuu (Sand) - WIP

I am swapping for the kins -- that is notable and there is some minor ASP differences due to the transition. Those were listed.
And yes, she is young'ish, you do not need to be 30 when you have a kid and Shouki was not very old when he was killed. He was just a monster.

Yeah... Tsukomogami is sweet but Bird cannonically happened. She had the bird contract ring that she awarded Roku. She liked what she saw and put a ring it :p Since most of the Cabal either share thematically or literally with the contract they had after giving away theirs I am endeavoring to maintain this. But no worries, I am got a contract of choice card... Tsukomogami is next.

Slappy - Today at 8:24 PM
So I heard through the grapevine that you might be OCR'ing into a character named Fuu, which caused some banter back and forth since that's one of the Jinchuuriki's names from Naruto. Was just curious if that was true since I don't want to go assuming random stuff, or if you knew about that ._.
The Cabal - Today at 8:25 PM
I have no idea what you are talking about regarding it being a jinchuuriki's name
it means wind
>_> should also note, never read the manga
Uri wrote the character years ago and I took it over when I became the Cabal
Slappy - Today at 8:27 PM
Yeah I figured you hadn't read it haha, and I really don't see anything wrong with it. It's just one of the Jinchuuriki from Shippuden is Fuu, and it makes me wonder if people might look at it wierd considering the rule about using names from the show or what not. Idk, figured it was better to bring it up than just worrying about it
The Cabal - Today at 8:27 PM
I will just change the name
Slappy - Today at 8:27 PM
I guess I don't really know the rule all that well, but I know that sometimes its been brought up

Change the name to 'Michi'

EDIT:

LINK The character from Naruto was named Fu with one u. Apparently we are different named. Return to the previous name "Fuu".

Taking Jounin Rank then. As I have Founder status I will have to change my banner and name. Logs available.

Fuu is apparently a name in use by another user, they belong to Cloud. Moving to the other approved name 'Michi'.
