Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Back in the Inner Maruishi sitting on its outer walls was a strange little girl. She expressed a desire to join the academy and Ryu agrees that she would make a find student. Wearing one of her many puppets she guides her to the head master’s office. “Out of curiosity what branch would you like to go for? There are three branches: Main, Medic and Anbu. Anbu and Medical both have sub-branches. They are Guardians and shamans respectfully. Both sub-groups are religious in nature but are quite popular.” Taili the puppet currently is being worn knocks on the headmaster’s door. Taili also had a request for the headmaster but first things first. We have a new mind that needs molding.

The door cracked open and eyes surveyed the knocker and blinked. With lips pursed Kamaru turned his head, ”I’m not sure on how to answer the question.” he replied.

Having discussed with the Headmaster why Kamaru had installed an intercom system in the school with the primary microphone set up in his office and already used said system from what the man had heard led to an interesting conversation since Kamaru was technically working for him although he was the man’s boss. It would be more efficient if the man was looking for someone Kamaru had stated. When the knock came Kamaru went to answer to see who it was. The small pair of eyes looking at the door and him when he opened it were new to Kamaru having started the task of reworking the student profile records. Swinging the door open he motions for the young person to enter so the Headmaster could see them as well before moving back to the desk and motioning for paperwork to be filed away for the time being. With an eye from the Headmaster Kamaru shrugged and waited to see what the young girl would do.

"Please come in." Kamaru offered.

Travel from the city, from where she knew, quickly ended as they came towards the military village: Iwagakure. This is where their warriors, or so she was told, trained. This is where the one who killed Karu was. She followed the puppet, as questionable as it was in its entirety to this place: what was presumably the academy, or whatever they called the place where people were trained to become shinobi of Earth. It had been a lifetime since a foot had been set into any Academy; she could remember vividly Karurosu's last time. This would be her first.

"Medic..." she'd breathe out quickly with the puppet's question. A man was there, already. "Question was...for me..." Perhaps it was a bad time to come; perhaps it would have been wiser to join the Academy when she could better speak and more humanly move. "Am Kari...Akiyama Kari...would like to..." she paused for a moment, "enroll." With that, she'd move her way into the office behind the other woman. Perhaps they could figure out all of this stuff.

“I also have a small request about a class I would like to teach but first things first.” Taili wanted to teach a class on puppetry in the academy. Puppetry is an art not commonly practiced despite its usefulness; in fact she has only every met one person that practices such an art. She hopes she could make a lasting impression on her students. It would be nice to see more puppeteers in the village of Stone. No, it will be her mission to not let this precious art die only to be remembered in history books. However her concern is that students might be taking only classes that will count towards their graduation. She fears her class on puppet might be looked over. “I have informed her that there will be some paperwork which she must fill out.”

With his hands in his pockets Kamaru regarded the two young girls as they walked in. One seemed unsure on how to phrase what she wanted until she finally did, the other wanted to teach and seemed more talkative or at least confident.

”Enrollment is pretty easy for residents of Earth Country and the Village of Iwa from what I’m told.” Kamaru began his hands sliding into his pockets cocking his head slightly in regards to the first girl he had seen upon opening the door as she had mentioned teaching.

”Aren’t you a bit sh-.. uh young to be teaching? If it’s something we do not have curriculum coverage for by all means we can post it to offer a course on if you’re qualified.” Kamaru stated a bit off color in a way before stating something a little more professional in the end.

”So what is the relation between you two? Siblings?” Kamaru asked nodding towards the more talkative of the duo, ”You her guardian?”

”Can’t have people sneaking kidnapped kids into the Academy to hide them during the day.” Kamaru added getting a sudden side glance from the Head Master the man’s folder hands on his desk separating to adjusting looking at Kamaru considering what he just insinuated. Kamaru looked back at the man give him a ‘What?’ look and shrugged.

”Miss Akiyama you’re looking to enroll at the Academy? There is paperwork to file out much like someone wanted to teach. After that you just need to come to classes you sign up for, meet the requirements for an exam, take and exam, and do a mission for the folks over at the embassy.”

The Head Master thought about the man next to him, he was for the most part in his opinion a too brash. His manner of talking to the two seemed more like a conversation over a book they had read versus someone’s future at the academy or the prospect of touch several minds and lives of students with a class. He did end nicely though, he should have just said that from the start. Thoughts of letting the Janitor off for the day the next time someone backed up a toilet or pulled a prank and having Kamaru deal with the mess came to mind. He did finish nicely for the most part although it was a bit too informal.

”Mr. Namamoto is correct there are requirements for graduating but we can discuss that before or after you finish your paperwork to enroll in the Academy. It’s really up to you Miss Akiyama”

Enrollment was a simple process? Perhaps that was for the better; the more daunting it was, the fewer would be willing to enroll to become one of the shinobi of the village for the sheer fact of the work required prior to enrollment. Laziness was a major factor with these things and it was interesting to see that even these people, living under all their rocks, could recognize that.

"Stranger...met earlier...led me here." It was the honest answer; she had never met the strange woman before. Her only real reason for coming was to enroll, since she could lead Kari here, and to figure how she knew she wasn't...wasn't human.

"Yes...will handle now." She was ready for whatever paperwork was required; Kazuhiko had already gone to forge the documents proving she was a citizen of the country and natively born, the final step was for her to do this simple enrollment and she was a new person, for good.

"Later...enroll now."

Taili glares at him. Does she want to know what he was about to say? However as she tries to say words to take offence she begins coughing up smoke. The dark cloud pours from her mouth and takes shape. The cloud then transforms into Ryu. “Now now, Taili you are not the only one who wishes to see the headmaster.” Ryu takes off her top hat and places it on the floor. The hat shakes and spin as three children and an adult female looking like some sort of witch doctor climbs out of the hat. “Guess I should explain. Everyone here is one of my puppets; well except for you, the janitor and Kari. Even I am a puppet. I am what you call a Tsukumogami and no I’m not talking about the kinjutsu but the yokai it’s named after. It is said that when an object reaches it becomes alive and self-aware; this is a real Tsukumogami. Throughout my life I have had many puppeteer both young and old focus there chakra through me. A part of them still resides within my body. Each puppet you see here represents a former master of mine and have their own personalities.” This was a lie, but a good one in her mind. She has met with such puppets before in her previous life and they were pretty much like this. The truth is her spirit was forcibly ripped from her body and sealed into a puppet which causes her persona to shatter. Since messing with spirits would likely be forbidden she chose a lie that to be a puppet that just gained a soul naturally.

It seemed the one wanting to enroll as a student was eager to get started on any paperwork… which was odd for anyone her age but stranger things had happened he figured as he watched the other young lady start to talk or at least attempt it before what happened next. Looking from the two young ladies and the next additions to the Head Master Kamaru opted to escort the would-be student off to do paperwork after blinking once or twice after his scan of the room. While Kamaru was seemingly too laid back the Head Master was the opposite standing as smoke and people came into being in his office getting it somewhat crowded in a way. Before he could say anything Kamaru was off escorting the one wanting to be a student. Once the paperwork and a pen were in hand for the young girl he’d let her know to come ask questions if there were any. The form was pretty straight forward of residence, an agreement of what to do in the case of bodily harm, if the person wanted shamanistic healing, medical Ninjutsu, or advanced medical procedures. Although a small change to a form Kamaru was surprised on the Head Master wanting to have a meeting over such things. Returning to just inside the door upon reentering Kamaru reflected on the explanation of the new guests.
”Wether you’re a demon or demi human it doesn’t really matter. If you want to teach and it doesn’t interfere with your primary duties I don’t see a problem. It’ll make my job easier and if students have an interest in puppets you’ll be hopefully ready to give them a lecture of sorts. Head Master do you have any concerns.” Kamaru stated looking through the group eyeing the one that stood out from the puppets Kamaru figured it was just from a culture background he didn’t have knowledge of.

The Head Master let out a low level exhale, this man was a headache in a way, from his horsing around in his office putting things in to changing the ways things were done down to forms he did have a point. There were no teachers currently available to really teach about Puppets and such at the school.

”No objections Sir, You’ll show her around since she’ll be working for you though correct.” the man replied his steely eyes and moustache stilled as he watched Kamaru.

The response was lackluster besides a nod Kamaru thinking showing the lady around appropriate. ”After I check on the new girl. Whenever you’re ready Miss and company. Namamoto Kamaru head instructor from the Main Branch.” He added giving the ladies a two finger mock salute before checking sliding his hands into his pockets to go check on the form filler.

She was escorted by the man. She followed in silence, trailing as closely as she could as to not attract the man's eye back towards her; walking was difficult as it was, even after the two weeks of ceaseless training that she had undergone, it still didn't seem quite human. Movements seemed too mechanic, too forced. It was a problem she had had since day two: when she actually was made to practice walking and the likes. It was something she'd have to learn to hide soon.

The walk proved short: a short distance later, there they were. If she had questions: she had to ask them now; ghost memories of an Academy stayed behind from the man who had died. She knew exactly what to expect from the Academy; nothing here would prove any kind of challenge for her, once she was recovered. "I've none," she stated to the man. It felt like he was but prolonging the inevitable: her joining Stone, finally. Residence was with Akiyama Kazuhiko for now, but for how long that would be was still questionable. In the case of bodily harm: medical ninjutsu would suffice, medical procedures could be done, but at not by the Shamans. She couldn't afford to let them know what she really was.

She filled the forms with such, quickly. It was straight forward, as the Academy's director had said. If there was nothing else, she'd finally be one of them. She could finally start her new life.

Ryu smiled, “there is no need for that I already know this place quite well thanks to the three young ones here acting as students.” Ryu points to Taili. “Taili wishes to teach a class on puppetry but is afraid the turn out would be small due to it not counting towards graduation for those seeking to stay in the main branch.” Ryu then points to Shikora, “She wants to teach a class on meditation which I think would be an appropriate class for shamans, though would it be okay to have a non-shaman to teach a shaman class.”

Kamaru nodded listening to the young girl, "That should be about it, you can sign up for classes in what you'd like at the message board. If you need room and board there's a form for application for residence in the barracks next to the enrollment forms. If you quit school though you will be evicted from the barracks." Kamaru explained she seemed to know what to expect and what to do... a bit slow maybe but that really was more a perception he would keep to himself. The leader of the small group seemed to have slight worries about if one of them taught a class and the turn out. "Well if the turn out is small it's small..." Kamaru said with a shrug, "If you're trying to teach something and students come to your class that's all there is to it, if you're just trying to get bodies in chairs... I don't know bring cupcakes or something. Meditation might be something usefull to anyone though, having it count as an elective for shaman is really up to the medical branch in truth. If people are interested they'll take the class." Kamaru stated with a shrug.

"Anything else?" Kamaru asked taking any forms the younger student had filled out and looking throughout the group.

That was it: the final bit of her identity was made and successfully placed into Stone's registry without any kind of questions or odd looks given. She was a Maruishian citizen, and beyond that, she was an Iwagakure shinobi. The newest of their students, at that. Classes would be simple enough; it wouldn't be a difficult thing. Classes, at least as they were for Karurosu in her past life, were a simple thing. Introductory manners which could intrigue a student to study the field on their lonesome in addition to learning how to manipulate chakra in a manner that would be effective.

"Thank you..." she mumbled and a nod. Though her face stoic, behind the veil she felt as though some great, insurmountable challenge had been completed. Isaki Karurosu had no part of her identity; she was Akiyama Kari, sister of Akiyama Kazuhiko, Maruishian citizen and student to become a shinobi. The elation of that successful switch in identities being complete was all that mattered. Beyond the few, she needn't worry about being discovered. And of those few, there were maybe two who could even ever discover. The true new challenge, as it was before, so not quite so new, was to hide the fact of what she was, of that she wasn't quite human despite appearing so.

Now, there were a few questions. All minor. "When can...begin?" Naturally, she wanted to get this started with. Classes were simple, sure, but they took time. The less of it she wasted, the sooner she could help Kazuhiko at the hospital. She'd see about moving into the Barracks as soon as she could -- that was a new thing, for students to live within the school grounds rather than visiting it daily, not that it was such a major thing. It could allow for more focus on training, and less focus on socialization with those who are not shinobi or otherwise. "Is that all?"

She had to make sure there was nothing else. No gimmicks. If that was the only paperwork required, she'd truly be a Stone shinobi. Hopefully, that was all.

”As soon as you go and sign up for a class you can begin… So now if you feel like it.” Kamaru explained pointing at the message board. Kamaru glanced at the time and figured if she really wanted to start now the longest the class would take was sundown regardless. He didn’t know if she had a unique speech pattern or was too deep in thought to talk normally but he tried to piece together what she was saying the best he could. ”That’s it Miss Akiyama. Welcome to the Academy you’re free to run around and learn. Let me know if you want to start a class right now, I’ll take you over if you like. Ms. Tsukumogami. You need anything else?” would add looking over the form to file tapping it against his hand.

“I’m afraid some lesson planning will be in order before I can start any classes.” Ryu then turns to the newly appointed student, “Perhaps I shall see you in class. I believe you would make a wonderful puppeteer.” Ryu then return all her puppets back into her hat. “I bid you good day sir.” And with that she was gone.

"I've none..." she murmured. She was done here. Her task was finished; she was finally an Academy Student. Her identity was set and she could finally live at least a bit more securely. She said nothing else, from there Kari simply left. There was plenty to do. Plenty to see. And she was ready to do it all.

Kamaru nodded left the girl to her own devices and thoughts. Stopping back by the Head Master’s office he let him know he seemed to be done with the current tasks and said he’d get back to him on the reports. Leaving before the man had a chance to respond though and shuffle off for a cup of coffee probably aggravated the Head Master a bit, sometimes it was nice taking advantage of being someone’s boss when you worked for them.

(OoC: No worries, welcome to Stone)
