Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A summons in hand, a young man passes the message to the captain of a rather large and splendid vessel. The summons was actually a gilded scroll that was as long as the length of mans's arm and about the width of a bottle of wine. Of course it was no ordinary summons, something that Kageoni would be certainly aware of when he received the massive scroll. Embossed along the face of the summons was a runic langugae forgotten by most: Runic Terran and it read:

|“In peace there's nothing so becomes a man

As modest stillness and humility;

But when the blast of war blows in our ears,

Then imitate the action of the tiger:

Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,

Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;

Now set the teeth, and stretch the nostril wide,

Hold hard the breath, and bend up every spirit

To his full height!

Come to me on a tide of crimson and bone.”
[/col]

The language was well-known to the reclusive Otokage, there was no name on the scroll only those words in runic. The shiphand who was given the expensive piece of communication nodded when he was told to whom the message must be passed along. It would be a several day journey to reach Otogakure, the harbor in Tea was many miles to the south and would require passage through rugged terrain. Kageoni's trip, however would be complete in the blink of an eye.

Days later, a single black ship sailed it's way unceremoniously into the harbor port of Soon's Haven. It was small, certainly no battleship by any means, but it seemed to have passed the trip between it's place of origin and it's destination no worse for the wear despite the seas being rife with pirates, monsters and storms. Still, the ship seemed nearly unearthly in nature which left those sailors which beheld it to wonder if those indeed it had simply avoided the pirates and beasts... or consumed them on it's passage here. No word passed the docks of any port city in Tea Country of the vessel which now somberly sailed through the calm water of Soon's Harbor for this was a private ship owned by the most dire of personages.

The Daimyo of Wind Country had sent invitation to the Kageoni of Sound Village and he had come.

Eventually the passenger ship came to rest at one of the less occupied piers and as the crew of the ship scuttled about the deck bringing her into port, it's owner and master stepped forth from the captain's cabin and into the salt-blasted air of Soon's Harbor for the first time. A thin smile split the lips of the enigmatic man known only as Kageoni as he drank in the sight of the city they were pulling into. Tall in height, Kageoni was dressed in a black robe of thin fabric which breathed enough to prevent him from overheating in the scorching heat which beat down upon him and wore his long black tresses loose allowing for them to billow behind him as the wind from the sea port blew past his body. It had been years since Kageoni had been in the Wind Country and it surprised him to find how nostalgic he was it. The summons had been interesting enough; the Daimyo had offered his daughter's hand in marriage in exchange for a deepening of their professional relationship but also there had come attached a notice of an upcoming Intervillage Exam.

And Kageoni could not help but find the opportunity to at last make a display of his organization's skills exciting. The other Masters had not approved but in the end they had relented. After all, it was Kageoni that ruled Otogakure -- not the Masters. Even if they deluded themselves into believing otherwise on occasion.

"Come, come. See the city."

Kageoni's voice was melodious indeed, a thing of singular beauty matched only by the fairness of his face and skin. His words were as much a command as they were an invitation and from the captain's hold came forth a trio of much younger individuals though truly pin-pointing Kageoni's age from his physical description would have proven difficult for even the most studious of observers. These were the Otogakure shinobi that he'd chosen to bring with him, the finest examples of their generation and each a prodigy in their own right.

The first of them was tall for his age and sported blonde hair and pale skin... but his most striking feature aside from the absurd whirring noise that occurred softly each time his eyes shifted in his skull to look upon a different point of interest were the huge plates of steel armor which encased his arms. Held together with large rivets which gave the distinct impression that each plate were actually attached to his arm -- despite the ridiculousness of such an assessment -- the plates shifted and almost stretched as the young man folded his chitinous arms across his chest clearly unimpressed by the site but unwilling to give voice to that opinion.

The second of the three was petite and easily the shortest of the three but did not seem in the slightest intimidated by her cohorts save for Kageoni which each of the three gave a wide berth as they emerged from the cabin. The only female among them, she wore her hair short enough where she might have been able to pass successfully for a young man if she chose to albeit an extremely feminine boy. Dressed in a semi-formal blue suit vest which matched the shade of her hair, the girl seemed unable to contain her excitement as she looked to and fro taking in the sights of the positively buzzing docks of Soon's Haven.

The third and final of the trio was perhaps the most... mundane of them given the laid back expression on his face. Where as the first of them wore an expression which bordered on irritated boredom and the second was nearly overcome with exuberant excitement the third of their number almost looked like he had only just barely rolled out of bed. His hair was a mop of mussy white-grey and his eyes an equally pastel teal, he seemed almost ready to roll back into bed at any time if not for the oversized coat and loosely tied necktie around his neck.

"I hope you're all as excited as I am." Hummed Kageoni as he strode forward to the edge of the deck and clasped the railing to lean forward as he looked out into the docks of the city. The others followed his lead, the armored boy and the lazy one sauntering slowly behind in the tracks of their Otokage where as the young girl bolted up next to him to lean up on the railing barely able to contain her excitement.

"Yes, Grand Master." "Yes sir Grand Master!" "Aye, sir."

With the lack of addition of "Grand Master" to his statement, the third youth seemed to realize his mistake instantly as Kageoni's eyes flicked to the side towards him and he began to round on his young apprentice as a very slight and extremely bizarre buzzing noise began to fill the air. The armored youth and the young girl exchanged glances as the Otokage turned and focused his intense stare on the shinobi which had made the error as he stepped towards him a single time.

"Yes, Grand Master sir." He exhaled quickly as he went to a kneel with his front fist on his chest and his left tucked behind his back in a salute of deference. Instantly the soft buzzing disappeared and Kageoni bid the youth to stand.

"Good!" It seemed as if the correction satisfied the ire which had been momentarily evoked as an expression of excitement and optimism immediately returned in place of the flat, sour look which Kageoni had borne on his soft features only moments earlier. "It has been so long since I have been in the Wind Country. Let us make a solid first impression, shall we?"

"At last, we have arrived."
