If Umashi had heard correctly then this guy's name was Maru and whoever he was, he was certainly an odd one. For one, he kept on fighting despite his neck being broken and broken necks were something that Umashi clearly could call. Was this guy even human? Whatever the case was with him, the fact that he instinctively went after the guy who was simply trying to protect everyone from his rampage wasn't lost on Umashi either. Yelling over to the guy, Umashi begged him to fall back. "Hey buddy, watch out! I appreciate the helping hand but . . . don't get yourself killed, I got this!" Turning his attention to the Maru fellow, Umashi issued his final warning. "Hey Maru? I don't know who spit in your cereal this morning but you need to calm the heck down before I calm you down!" Having been storing spiritual chakra the entire time that they'd been fighting, Umashi didn't exactly want to use the attack that he'd kept on the ready but if there was one thing that he knew it was that he couldn't afford for this Maru guy to keep trashing the place when his good name was on the line. Something had to change and it had to change sooner rather than later.

It didn't matter what Umashi threw at him, a prefect Rasengan, a punch, hell he even broke Maru's neck and he still came at Ziren at full force. Raining down balls of fire to shoot the boy down, each one hitting its target while Maru's head hung loosely from his ink shoulders in which he began to laugh to himself darkly. Not paying attention to the shark bomb that sent Maru flying backwards again, this time opening his mouth to bite the next thing to catch himself. In which he was able to catch a pole within his mouth to make himself spin a couple times before throwing him at Ziren with nothing but the will to kill on his mind. The city had already been in ruins from constant star gun fire and Rasengans both imperfect and perfect. The civilians already ran to safety, for the exception of the fox girl who watched the battle from a distance.

With inhuman speed, Maru began to take repeated slashes at Ziren! Carving an X on his chest, cutting his cheek , slashing at his stomach, his arms, even went for his throat which missed. After shredding Ziren Maru fired thousands of Senbon needles at him causing the boy to bleed more. He then prepared a Rasengan to finish off his clones and Ziren. That was when the he decided to use the water shark bomb to trap him in a barrier and he directed the Rasengan towards the barrier! He weaked it, but Ziren finish the job and destroyed his own barrier. Maru running low on chakra, he began to growl… Seemingly ignoring what Umashi had to say about calming himself, 10 balls of fire prepared themselves… aimed at Ziren.”DIE!!!!!!!” He growled as he attacked.

The whole area was in utter chaos, the beautiful streets of Tea now in ruins. Misaki could no longer watch how the mean guy ruined everything even with limbs suffering and neck broken, still aiming to destroy the men that had wanted to protect her. The whole image was so unrealistic to the kitsune she no longer could believe this was real. Going on with a broken neck was probably just an illusion, the whole ordeal just a nightmare from which she would wake any time now. It had to be, as despite the chaos and devastation she still remained unscathed, hat in her arms, never attacked once, not hit by collateral damage yet. It simply had to be a nightmare...

Slumping behind the fountain, Misaki sat down terrified, tail tucked in, ears flattened, eyes closed. The powers were far beyond her own, every place near buildings a danger to be near. The fountain seemed like the only place of tranquility in the darkness, but the noise of the chaos was just too much to bear for the untrained mind of this child. If only she would wake up. If only...

Ziren stopped acting as if he was Umashi. He could see that Maru had gone over the edge. He had to admit it. He was glad that the idiot was focusing on him rather than the girl or the Hokage. He didn't mind the pain. Chigokai live for the pain. And now he was starting to understand what it really means to be in a fight. In his own blood.

It... Excited him. Now he knew why his clan was ruthless. They didn't care about their own deaths. They embraced it. Wanted to drag down as much people with them as they could. There was a small part of him that still hanged on to trying to be calm and collected. But staring at the monster, who was once Maru, he himself thought of himself as a monster. Thirsty for blood that isn't even there.

He wanted to heed the Hokage's warning but he was getting all to into it. His own blood dripping down to the ground.

"Lord Hokage... I'll keep him busy... He seems stupid enough to go for someone that he thought wasn't worth his time..."

Shaking his head, Umashi realized that that Maru just wasn't going to get the point unless he forced the point down his throat. Focusing intently on Maru, Umashi leveled ninjutsu after ninjutsu on the boy, applying an unrelenting pressure that he was sure few could hope to endure. Though he could have killed the boy, he held back from the killing blow and created a whip of water and used it to hold the boy in place as he used an equally effective kinetic burst of chakra to force him to his knees. Focusing spiritual chakra into his hands, he grabbed the boy by his forehead and placed a hand to his chest as he forcefully attempted to erase the cursed chakra from his body with a forceful yell. "Enough!" His body beginning to glow with a near blinding light, he used the gift of his natural energy to purge ever vestige of evil from the boys being . . . or so he thought. Instead of turning the boy from the darkness to the light, he instead was only to accomplish enough so that he was more neutral than before.</COLOR>

What darkness was in the boys body that Umashi had managed to scrub away floated away from his body like a shadow in the noon day. Frustrated that he wasn't able to fully turn the boy he stumbled back frustrated as he turned to the girl and the other young man who'd witnessed the event, leaving Maru on his knees. Breathing heavy, he spoke like one who'd seen his fair share of situations gone awry and peculiarly enough, the buildings and street around them were slowly beginning to assemble themselves to some degree. Though he wouldn't be able to fix all the damage, his sagely abilities allowed him to breathe life into the world around them as even brick and mortar began to reassemble itself. Pointing a thumb back at Maru, he wiped his brow as he finally managed to catch his breath. "And that's the very same stuff that I'm retiring from. I'm getting too old for the shenanigans!" Looking left and right . . . he attempted to find even a swallow of tea to drink due finding himself even more parched than before.

OOC: Attempting to turn Maru's alignment from Cursed to Holy but only being able to manage Spiritual instead. This is being done via Gaia's Vengeance.

Gaias Vengeance - S-Rank Ninjutsu

The epitimone of an Archsage is their oneness with the world around them. In a last ditch moment of desperation, an Archsage may draw upon the power of the world, from the smallest to largest creatures, the birds in the air, from every tree to every blade of grass as far as they can see. Though channeling such a power takes time, the result is a huge sphere of chakra created from the Natural Energy of the earth itself.

Prerequisites: Archsage, S-Rank

Mastered: The user gathers energy for the duration of their Sage Mode. While active, this jutsu stores damage equal to 30% of all chakra and Natural Energy used by all participants in battle. Upon conclusion of the user's Sage Mode, this attack is launched, dealing the accumulated damage to up to 4 targets. This damage cannot be increased.

Cost: 4.5 Ap, 3800 Natural Energy and 6% of the user's maximum chakra each round to maintain

- This Jutsu may only be used once per battle.

Breath of the Wild - A-Rank Ninjutsu

A technique, also known as Inorganic Reanimation, allows the user to figuratively breathe life into the land around them by directly taking control of Natural Energy, or infuse it into things without it such as the earth. In either case, this gives the user the capability to make even drastic alterations to their immediate environment that occur both suddenly and unexpectedly. The environment itself is an Archsage's ally.

Rank 1 + 2: Controls the environment. Once per round, the user may have the environment perform one of the below actions. The environment has no AP, HP, or CP, but actions performed by it takes the timing of 2 seconds.

• Attack: When an enemy target the user is aware of dodges an attack, the environment may attempt to attack it for 2250/2815 . Uses the Archsage's Ninjutsu Accuracy, and an enemy may only be hit by this once per round.
• Protect: Reflexively defends all allied targets from a single attack that hits them, blocking up to 2250/2815 damage.
• Alter: Changes the Terrain Modifiers of the battle into the user's choice for the duration of the round. When Mastered, should any environmental type of jutsu be active, such as Gaia's Wrath, Hurricane and Subzero Purge, the Archsage may choose to nullify its effects for this round.

Before Maru could land his attack on Ziren, the man stopped him with a Rasengan to the gut causing the wooden demon to be sent backwards. This time, he landed on his feet but before he could charge in for to land a Perfect Rasengan to obliterated Ziren's clones and severely wound Ziren. Before Ziren could recover, he made a snake hand seal his neck stretching towards Ziren at lighting like speed with his mouth opened with looking as if he was about to bite Ziren! But his head was actually going for the girl who his behind the water fountain, shooting through the water, the girl felt the sharp teeth of Maru dig into her shoulder. The demon released his jaws from the kitsune, cursed chakra had already begun to form a symbol of a black flame trapped within a circle as it settled into her skin and corrupting her chakra. Once the curse had been successfully sealed, Maru's head quickly retracted itself back to normal, letting his terrible chakra course through the kitsune’s vains. Bearing his evil mark until someone can break the curse.

"Neee HeeHee, now the girl belongs darkness!” The demon spat, preparing his next attack against Ziren. "Now its time for the last bit of light within you to parish! Prepare TO DIE!!!!” He shouted, but before he could attack he was ensnared, blasted by Ziren, and forced to his knees before he could recover. He might would've attacked Ziren to finish him off if Umashi didn't grab the wooden demons, holding Maru in place as he desperately tried to tear himself from his grasp. The rage of a demon filled him, an inhuman growl passed through his mouth. Losing his angry growl when the man said enough, panic came to the little devil as he realized what he was about to do…

“RRRRRRRRRUGH!!!!!!!!!!!” Maru began to scream the moment his body became enveloped in a blinding light. ‘L-Light? But how?' He thought feeling his darkness beginning to leave him, the third eye on his forehead head was revealed. Slowly beginning to close as holy chakra began to purge him of his demon hood. The third eye closed, Maru begun to writhe and convulse. The demons that had found a home within Maru shot out of his mouth in inky black smoke, passing on back to the underworld. Most of his darkness floating out of his core, the last bit of darkness left him Maru just sat there on his knees in shock of what just happened. The darkness didn't leave him completely, after all years of tainting his soul made him a bit too dark to be purified with a squeaky clean soul. It seems that the light that this man put inside of him merged with the darkness. Making him neutral rather than fully dark.

Cursed Sealing
A technique used to scribe a Curse Seal. Curse Seals take the form of a runic tattoo when dormant, but once activated can be anything from a larger pattern, glowing seals, or even cause its host to undergo a minor physical transformation. Curse Seals are often forbidden due to their purpose being to forcibly augment its bearer's power at the cost of their lifeforce, and the pain involved in scribing and wielding these seals being enough to break many lesser ninja.

The demon puppet continued its carnage, or at least it tried to. Furious at Ziren, it tried to lash out and destroy the ANBU even if it would be the last thing it would do. And for a while, he seemed to be well on his way to succeed at doing so but the combined powers of the ANBU and the Hokage were slowly but steadily overwhelming him. Seeing as his fate was so much as sealed, the monster puppet unexpectedly lashed out to the kitsune, its neck stretching until it reached the girl behind the fountain. As if it were the eye of the storm, all sound seemed to fade as her amber eyes briefly locked with the puppet demons' for a second, before he sunk his fangs into her neck like a vampire. She could feel the tainted chakra of the Cursed Seal seep into hers, burning through her veins and forming a symbol of a black flame trapped within a circle where he had bit her. The puppet retracted its head quickly, leaving Misaki dazed behind so as to continue his own battle.

Recovering from the jutsu and taking a panicked look at the seal, Misaki tried to rub off the strange tattoo while the puppet was further being beaten up to splinters for his malevolent deeds. The chakra ink didn't rub off, and the girl felt even worse now as her mind, unfamiliar with these seals, wondered what her mother would think of her having a tattoo like this. The soft burning sting the seal continuously emitted would remind her of its permanent presence. At that point, even the girl had enough of the whole ordeal. Fed up with the puppet's antics, a volcano of emotions erupted. Ears pulled, neck bitten, her beautiful skin tainted with a chakra tattoo and her pride sullied, she walked up the defeated puppet with balled fists, tears running down her cheek as fear and anger sought their way out, and kicked the defenseless puppet against his shins.

"YOU. ARE. THE. WORST!"

Ziren brought out his Chain Scythe, just as Umashi hit Maru with a perfected rasengane, which the Hokage also followed up with a water whip. This is my chance, Ziren thought, but as he was about to move in, he was blasted back. He growled as he got up, he was still bleeding. And under normal circumstances, fighting an enemy who wasn't a puppet would have made a grave mistake in making Ziren bleed. But as it stands, Maru was a puppet.

So Ziren settled for a Magnum break instead. With his Chain Scythe he slashed at Maru, the blade causing friction to produce heat, as a small explosion ensued, though, Maru was lucky and didn't get hit with the full force.

Next thing he knows, the Hokage grabbed Maru and and a a lot of stuff happened, which Ziren couldn't really understand. Mainly because he was losing focus. Even as a user of blood, there is such a thing as too much blood loss for a Chigokai.

Finally his vision cleared and the puppet was laying on the ground and the girl kicking Maru. He looked closely and seen that there was a cursed seal on her neck. He is now even more mad at Maru. But he won't give in to his hatred. A hand was put on the kitsune's shoulder. He wished that he could tell her that everything is going to be okay. But he didn't really know all about cursed seals, even though he has been studying them. "I understand your anger. Heck, I knew the guy. Thought there was a time that he could change for the better. But apparently from today's events, he hasn't."

He then looked over at Maru. "Sorry it had to come to this. You know. Sometimes, I think if I never had people who cared for me that maybe I would be like him. Maybe that's why I try to understand him so much. Even though me and him both have very different ideals. I forgive you Maru. But I don't think that this will be taken lightly with everyone else from the Leaf."

His whole body was aching. He lifted up Maru's shirt and took his cylinder out. With the blood that is bleeding out of him, he made them into tendrils that proceeded to pick up the lifeless puppet body, the blood wrapped around it to ensure that it won't fall out of it's grasp. Ziren hoped this didn't scare the girl. He then turned to Umashi, as he pocketed Maru's cylinder. For safe keeping. No need having Maru still trying to fight when the battle was over.

"Lord Hokage. Is there anything that you would want me to do? If not, I can buy for all of us to have lunch. Hopefully this time without conflict."

Shaking his head, Umashi declined the offer. "As much as I'd like to stay, there's a meeting that I need to attend to concerning some things. Hopefully I'll be seeing you around!" Turning to leave, it occurred to Umashi that it probably wasn't best if he left a raving lunatic with a guy and a girl who probably weren't going to be able to handle him if he started up again. Stopping short of leaving, he turned back towards the two and pulled out a small headset from his robes. Putting just a lone ear piece into his ear, he pressed it and began to speak to whoever was on the other end of it. "This is the Nidaime Hokage, Umashi . . . I'd like to report an incident involving a rogue shinobi of Konoha!" Although he had a lot to do, Umashi would stick around until somebody came and picked this Maru fellow up. As busy as he was, he couldn't take the risk of him doing further harm when Umashi had the ability to do something about it. The truly sad part however, was that it had ended up being one of his very own.

Maru attempted to use his demonic aura, which flickered once before disappearing forever. The dark puppet master looked at his hands, standing to his feet wondering what the hell just happened! He didn't feel that familiar feeling of darkness, sure his soul wasn't spotless from all the darkness he's taken in but a good portion of it was gone. The last bit of darkness sealed inside the kitsune, realizing this Maru snapped his head to look at Misaki. Seeing she really… wasn't in the mood for that tea. Maru smiled fakely, pointing his finger guns at her before giving a friendly wink. "Soooooooo… how about some tea? My treat.” He only got this far before he was kicked in his shin, and since he was a bit tipsy from the fight he tripped then fell face first to the ground.

He gathered himself, chucking at the kitsune. “Oh common, I gave you something that'll help you regenerate or even fight longer. I simply gave you a gift." He said dusting off his shoulder before Ziren came up to him, then with a smug expression he insulted him. “Lucky you blood stains, I was looking forward to tearing you into bloody pieces. Next time, I'll make sure you're laying on the ground d–"before he could finish his statement his shirt was life's then his cylinder was pulled out and then before their eyes Maru became a lifeless object. The cylinder tried to barrow it's way through Ziren's hand to try to take over her body, wiggling uncontrollably until he was placed inside of his pocket where Maru continued wiggling.

The lifeless body merely that of a huge, heavy doll was picked up. Maru still had a consciousness still intact dispite being reduced to that of a cylinder. ‘Well ain't this a son of a bitch.’ He thought as he continued wiggling around.

A gift? He called this a gift? Involuntarily, her hand moved to touch the spot where the Cursed Seal had taken form. He considered it a gift... She didn't. She disliked its very existence. She was hard-coded to hate anything and everything about demonic corruption and she was not about to change that. The mark left a constant uncomfortable feeling in the usually balanced energies of the girl, an imbalance in an otherwise perfectly balanced spirit. Experiencing that feeling was enough for her to strengthen her resolve about demonic influence. No, she was determined to do something about it in time. Before she could retort to him about his 'gift', the ANBU shut him down permanently, pulling out a wiggling core from the puppet and stashing it away. She grimaced at the wriggling core, or perhaps the lingering demonic taint, and took a step back.

Ziren asked if he could be the Hokage of service, who declined. Still holding tightly onto his hat, Misaki shuffled closer and handed over the treasured headgear to its rightful owner before he took out an earpiece to report an incident before picking up the remains of the demon puppet and leaving to tend to other tasks still. As for herself, despite the Ziren's offer, she declined too. She didn't feel comfortable, even exhausted from all the chaos and oddly drained by the chakra seal in her neck. All she wanted now was to go rest and process the nightmare of this day.

"Thank you but I need to rest some...", she said softly. "I won't forget your kindness and eagerness to protect me, hoping that I can repay you sometime later."

Ziren nodded to the Hokage and the Kitsune, as they both left. He could feel Maru's cylinder trying it's best to get out of the pocket with no end results.

He waited until the Tea Task Force was there, in which case, he handed the body over to them, along with the cylinder. "Absolutely keep the cylinder away from the body, or any puppet for that matter. He may be hard headed, but he can occasionally be smart enough to cause more damages to your country if people are reckless."

With that, Ziren's Hemonancers gift blood tendrils wents back into his body as the Tea Task Force now had possession of Maru.

Now, it was time for him to go. He had to admit. He needed to sit down and just enjoy the day, without having all of these distractions.
