Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Today was one of the few that our young Chikamatsu Shin did not have to attend classes at the Academy, but he still had work to do early in the morning. Helping him prep for the life of a ninja the boy's mother essentially assigned him a mission to complete. The Yamanaka was asked to carry the Castorenum poison that his clan had been creating for generations to the hospital so that the Mednin there could help create stronger antidotes for use against enemy shinobi. This task seemed simple enough, but he started to feel as if today would make a greater impact that just running his mother's errands, even if she called it a mission.

Finishing up getting dressed the boy tightened the straps on his boots before making his way out the door with a satchel hanging around his shoulders. Inside held a few vials of varying poisons, but the most important package that needed to make it there was the one of his clan's he head his mother's explanation of how this poison slowed down the actions of shinobi and was primarily effective of those shinobi with advance skills, but he also knew that he was carrying some that could probably kill the average person. He let out a sigh before heading out to the hospital. Waiving good by to his mom the boy would swing by his father's shack that was across the street. Closing his eyes while still standing outside he connected his mind to that of his father's, a gift his mother's blood gave him. Letting his father know where he was heading he finally made his was to his destination.

Walking through the Sunan Residences was one of his favourite views. Many of the houses were made of stucco and were painted with the colors commonly found in the desert mountains that weren't too far from the village. Soft pinks and sky blues contrasting the earthen browns and tans created a beautiful neighborhood. The whole on the other hand was slightly depressing. Most of Suna still resided underneath the earth's crust as it hadn't made it's way up since the fierce Diamond Maelstrom dissipated a little while back. Shin's family moved up top before many of the other villagers and because of this he wasn't too familiar with the routes of the lower village. Regardless he knew where to go if he was trying to find the stand out locations like his academy and the hospital.

Standing on the edge of the hole it was time to delve down there and deliver these vials. He let out a sigh before making his to the stairs before his long descent into the dark cave where his fellow Sunans have spent generations living in. Chakra infused crystals lit his way down the steps of the long and winding trail he had to follow every day, but today would be different. Unbeknownst to him there was a group of thugs at one of the rest areas up ahead trying to mug bystanders that were making their way into the village. Most of them were Academy rejects, but they still possessed basic Ninjutsu and Taijutsu skills, both of which were skills that Shin did not possess. Turning the corner he could start to sense unfamiliar chakras so he tightened up his grip on the strap crossing his chest. He tried to steady his breath so that he would not seem intimidated. There they were, three boys a couple years older than him leaning against the rest stop's facilities. Shin could see kunai attached to their hips, and one of the boys was wielding a katana. Hopefully the boys weren't looking for a fight but that thought quickly left his mind as the seemingly leader stepped towards Shin.

"Hey brat, empty the bag and no one gets hurt!"

Shin looked the older boy in the eyes before slowly raising a single hand forming the half tiger handseal "No."<i></i>

The two other boys started to chuckle and stepped towards their friend as all three pulled their weapons out. Shin quickly weaved a set of seals before stepping back. A loud crack in the bedrock could be heard over the boys' shoulders as if something was about to fall.

"Shit!"

As they turned Shin weaved a few more seals before disappearing from sight in a parade of flowers. As if the earthy clay beneath their feet instantly became fertile grass began to grow and flowers began to bloom. Trees quickly grew covering the area and the thugs were left speechless. They had fallen into the young Yamanaka's Genjutsu. This took most of his energy and he was hoping to make a quick escape but one of the thugs realized what was happening.

"Genjutsu won't work on me kid, Release!"

The illusion faded and they could see Shin make his way to the steps. Not wanting to look like fools one of the brats launched his kunai at they young shinobi. Shin wasn't able to dodge the attack as he was almost out of energy already. The kunai planted itself into his shoulder as he let out a scream of pain. The momentum of the projectile made the illusionist's next step falter, causing him to miss the earth and step off of the ledge.

Quickly realizing he was about to fall the boy shifted his weight but it was too late. He was still about fifty feet from the ground and the hospital was in sight. Acting quickly he summoned up as much chakra as he could before hitting the ground to launch a Telepathic call to the hospital. Hoping he could reach that far he sent the visions he saw with a sense of urgency to his location. As if shouting help he would hope anyone nearby or in the hospital would hear him and come to his aid. Closing in on the ground the young boy quickly grabbed his satchel and pressed it to his chest to protect his mother's parcels from crushing from underneath his weight upon impact.

With a thud a searing pain filled the boy's body as he laid not much more than a stone throw's away from his destination. He wasn't sure if it was from the impact or the over usage of his chakra but his vision started to go blurry as he slowly closed his eyes, but he knew he still had to get to the hospital.

It was her first shift back at the hospital after arriving back in Suna. Scheduling had taken some time as her superiors had ordered her to run through a gamut of tests to make sure her skills hadn't slacked during her time off. She hadn't had time for her skills to slack. If she wasn't selling or creating her wares, Eiji had forced her to train or someone from whatever village they were in asked her to look into an ailing person. However much practice she had outside the village didn't matter though, still had to make sure she could do her job in high pressure situations. She was a combat medic; she knew how to handle pressure.

As she turned down the street the hospital was on, a flash of a falling sensation and something that felt like fear flared in her mind. With little thought, she headed in the direction the call said to go. Crystals surrounded her hands and claw-like appendages formed from the knuckles, after all, it was better to be prepared. As she came closer, she scented blood. At the same time, she noticed a thug headed to the same area she was headed. A crystal clone quickly formed and went to apprehend the thug. Aika heard a bit of a scuffle and then a thump as she continued making her way forward. She couldn't help but chortle softly as she saw her clone sitting on the person. That was a nice thing about crystal clones, they tended to be heavier than they looked.

Just a few more steps and she saw what the thug was after: what seemed to be an academy student with a satchel she somewhat recognized, mostly because she had taken in the poison a few times herself when she was just becoming a mednin. Crystal claws faded back into chakra as Aika knelt by the blonde young man and noted his possible injuries. Stab wound in shoulder, kunai still lodged in it. Possible head wound from fall and fractured ribs from the same. She gently cast skeletal fortification on his ribs, spine, and skull so she felt comfortable enough to lift him. The young woman also cast an anesthetic infusion to hopefully keep the poor lad under while she worked. She also used chakra to disinfect her hands before examining the kunai wound. It looked like it could wait the few seconds it would take for her to sprint them to the hospital.

With a slight nod to herself, Aika picked up the young man, gently cradling his head and neck, dismissed her clone, and took off to the emergency section of the hospital. With the young man lying down, she gently eased the satchel from around his shoulders and set it nearby. He was more than likely tasked with delivering the thing, so knowing his quarry was still safe would be good when he woke up.

Aika quickly got to work ordering nurses to get medication as she conducted a more through examination. Thankfully, his skull wasn't fractured, but he would probably have one heck of a headache if not a mild concussion. The kunai wound was quickly dispatched with a combination of coagulation and mystical force. The skeletal fortification she did earlier had already begun healing a few fractured ribs. The boy would be sore for a few days, but he wasn't at risk of puncturing a lung, thank Mother Suna. A final, all-over, system restoration finished off her treatment of the young man. Now she just had to wait for him to wake up.

Slowly coming back to reality Shin could see a flood of light hitting his eyes. He must have hit the ground pretty hard to have completely blacked out like that. As his consciousness came back so did the pain from his fall. Inhaling sharply and letting out a wince of agony his entire body tensed up ever so slightly which made him aware of the damage throughout his core. He wasn't sure where he was but he knew it was better than where he had been. Slowly starting to see what was in front of him he could see the sterile white lights of the hospital and he could feel what he could only assume was Medical Ninjutsu coursing through his chakra network reconstructing his damaged tissue. He made it. He quickly sat up accidentally sending out the mental thought "The bag!"<i></i> to anyone within a short distance to him, but this was instantly regrettable as he fell back down due to the surge of nerve responses throughout his body.

He could see clearly now that the haze was gone and before him was an unfamiliar face. He gazed at her taking in some of her details such as he height, her tan skin, and what seemed to be blue eyes. His eyes were also blue. He gave her a half smile as he assumed she was the one that brought him hear. Her build seemed to be that of someone who has combat experience so she surely wasn't the Mednin. Shin looked around trying to find someone in "typical" Mednin gear but no one was present. Slowly looking back at the girl the boy raised an eyebrow. "Are you a Medical Kunoichi?"<i></i> Slightly adjusting his body in a manner to allow him to sit up without wincing at pain he shifted his body towards her to give a more "warm" approach. This was a rule his mother taught him about trying to communicate with someone who you would like to get to know better. An awkward smile stretched on his face as if rehearsed and the extension of his hand made it seemingly clear that this boy was wanting to introduce himself but his social skills were lacking.

Aika was back at the young man's bedside, checking in to see if he was awake yet. She still wasn't wearing the hospital issue lab coat. She probably should be, but she had never cared for the thing as it would get in the way in the field. A mental shout echoed the boy sitting straight up and falling back onto the bed in exhaustion. Aika shook off the mental outburst and turned more fully toward the bed just as the lad asked his question.

"Don't look much like one, do I?" she chuckled. "Iryo-nin Motomori Aika, at your service, young man. You suffered quite the fall on your way here.
Your bag is safe, by the way. Thug tried to take it off you from where you landed, but I was close enough to stop him. Was on my way here, in fact, when I stumbled upon your mental SOS."

She moved to help him sit up, placing another pillow behind his back so he wouldn't strain himself so much. Aika also grabbed the cup of water from the sideboard before addressing him once more. "Water?" she offered. "You were banged up a bit, but no where near what would have happened had you been a civilian. You had some fractured ribs and a couple cracks in your skull. Nothing happened to your spine, thankfully or treatment would have been more interesting than it was. The kunai wound is healing nicely. I recommend that you try not to stress it or overwork it as it was a deep wound. I would also like for you to check back in a couple days to see if any of the healing needs touched up. However, if you somehow end up with a fever, please come back here immediately."

A small pause followed to allow the young man to process the information and perhaps ask any questions. "Now, I recognize the bag and as much as I am allowed to search through the records for your Academy physical, I would rather allow you to introduce yourself. So, what's your name, lad?"

To be honest? She really didn't. She appeared to be that of a regular main branch kunoichi, but that wasn't his job to judge her by her appearance as she certainly has some skill that was related to the hospital, which Shin had been a recipient of first hand. His body was already feeling better as her chakra restored his natural state of health. The woman before him introduced herself as Aika. He touched his head and could feel the throb of pain in response, ya, he remembered falling... and the impact... His face tensed a little bit when he remembered the pain, but what he felt now was nowhere near that. He looked at the bag and thought, which he still is bad at keeping only in his head, "But is anything broken?" The vials were glass but he did his best to protect them during the fall. He was given a mission from his mother and he wanted to complete it. His eyes were slightly serious as he gazed at the bag for what seemed like a little bit too long for the average person's level of concern.

His attention was brought back to the woman as he readjusted himself. It was clear that this woman did not want to shake his hand, he was okay with that and instead he clasped the glass of water before bringing it to his mouth to delicately sip it. Mother made it a rule that you sip water and not gulp it down as it is easier on your body to use. He knew this. Shin's eyes were now locked onto Aika's as he continued to slowly sip the water as she spoke about his injuries. It seemed like she was saying he was okay, but needed a follow up. He understood that doctors needed multiple visitations to keep track of recovery to guarantee the best results. It was a rule. His eyes darted to his shoulder where the kunai no longer was embedded. Infection was not good and he knew he would have to change the bandages to help prevent the fever from developing. It was a rule.

Handing he cup back to Aika the boy slightly nodded his head as if saying "thank you" before he would introduce himself. "I am Chikamatsu Shin. My mother is the Yamanaka responsible for crafting those poisons."<i></i> His eyes darted back to the bag still wondering if the vials were unharmed. His fixation on the bag wasn't rivaled by this lady, but he did have some curiosity coming forth about how exactly she did what she had done to him. This time actually speaking his eyes remained on the package. "Did I complete my mission?"<i></i> Of course this didn't exactly make sense as Aika probably wasn't aware that Shin's mother called her errand running a "Ninja Mission" but from his accidental telepathic message and the general knowledge of regular poison delivers it wouldn't be hard to put together what the boy meant.

Aika took the cup as the boy finished and set it aside. She smiled softly at him as he introduced himself. Luckily enough, as soon as he asked about his mission, someone from R&D showed up in their stark white lab coat and gloves.
"Hello, I'm here to pick up the Yamanaka delivery. Ah! there's the bag, right on the bedside table." The other medic picked up the bag gingerly and inspected the cloth. "Looks like nothing broke! Thank you for bringing this to us, young man." The medic nodded to both of them and turned to leave. "You can pick the bag up before you leave at the front desk, or a medic-in-training will drop it by your mother's place. Just let Motomori-san or a nurse know what you would prefer."

Aika turned another smile onto the young man. "Well, would you look at that. You were somehow able to protect that bag with your body. I wouldn't recommend doing it again, but sometimes we shinobi have to take a calculated risk. I should know. My brother took a lot of calculated risks on his missions. It quickly became apparent that he would either need to get over his whole anti-hospital thing or one of us would need to learn medical jutsu. Anatomy can be really fascinating once you get into it. You can use the knowledge for whatever you need. Need to knock someone out? Senbon to a pressure point. Someone hurt themselves in one of the caves? Knowledge of how the body goes together can mean the difference between continuing their career and if they barely survive."

"Eh, listen to me, blathering on. There are many facets to being a ninja. Just, be careful with yourself, okay kid? Oh, and next time your mother sends you on her little errand, remind her that storage scrolls are much easier to hide and protect than the bag. I'm honestly surprised she didn't put the bag in one to begin with. However, there could have been something about the specific poisons that wouldn't react well to being sealed in a scroll."

"Anyway, you're ready to go. If you would like, I can get someone to escort you home? Never know if those idiots are still hanging about."

A slight smile appeared on the boy's face as he saw someone pick up the poison and announced that it was still in tact. A sigh slipped from his lips as he was relieved that his mission was complete. Turning his attention back to the woman he would listen to her as she spoke about her brother and his beef with hospitals. Shin chuckled slightly as she conveyed her relationship with him, but then she went into the pros of learning Medical Jutsu and Anatomy. This peeked the boy's interest, as his skills were lacking in actual combat but his intellect was keen. Perhaps this was a path he should take in the future. With the pain slowly subsidizing the boy shifted his weight to stand up. He nodded at Aika before smiling at her. "Thank you for everything, I believe that I should be fine..."<i></i> As he spoke he touched a single finger to his temple and gently tapped it. "... and if not I know I can always call out for your aid."<i></i> He headed out and retrieved his bag before leaving. He knew that he completed his mission and he got insights on what he should do with his life.

Aika nodded in response to Shin's rejection of an escort. It wouldn't have been something she would have appreciated when she was his age, let alone now. "I wish you safe journey then, Shin. If you ever need help again, a radio can reach me, or you could probably get my attention with your mental shout if I'm in the village. Hopefully next time we meet won't be when one of us is injured, eh?"

She smiled and waved him on his way. "Have a good day, kid."
