Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Shin wasn’t sure what had drew him towards the Bibliotheca, as eyes glancing at large capacity of the library. It had been a few weeks since he had reached his equipment for his knew division, however seeing as he wasn’t need to wear his mask or the equipment while doing casual task such as visiting the library, he, made seem to come without them. It was better to keep up. That and it was nice to get out from being underground for a while. Though he did question what purpose it severed to go from one confined area to another. While it hadn’t been his first time visiting the library, but that had been many years ago, and he was a diffident person than them man looking around the place know. He continued walking in the building, only pausing for a moment to read the directory posted on the front desk.

As he glanced over the list, he found himself to be glancing at both the History, Lightning Country and the Archives. They were both interesting topics, however he found himself walking towards the E section of the library, his thought contemplating his choice. In his mind, picking up on some history would allow him a better understanding of what to search for in the Archives section as well as learning a bit more how about the villages origins. It took a few minutes before he found himself wondering though the rows of books, his hands lightly brushing on the covers as he took noticed of their appearance. While the books covers were slightly worn giving clear signs of their ages most of the pages seemed to be rather new, clear hinting at the detail taken to persevere the village’s history. As he continued brush his hands across the books his stopped for a moment as his eyes glanced over the books title. Ancient Kumo? Interesting. Picking up the book, Shin opened it, his eyes hungrily taking in the knowledge of the item, as he scanned the entries

While the information was quiet enlightening on the foundation of the village as well as the account of some of the previous Raikage, he found him reading over any entry on two languages that were foreign to him. Vulgar Variant and Classical Variant. It had seemed that one had been the tongue of the common people while only those with the Raikage favor were able to study and understand. Understandable, this Classical Variant seemed to be one way of showing a person status of power. It would make since to have only those who’ve proven themselves the gift of learning it. Shin closed the book, placing it carefully back in it placing as he began walking towards the P section of the library. The area had a languages section, and while he may not be able to learn the Classical Variant for now, it would be a waste not to learn the Vulgar Variant.

It is beneficial to learn something that few know and could allow him a better way of communication while on duty to other members of his division covertly if need. He smile slightly as he looked at the rows of books in the Language section, his hands once again brushing against the covers as he eyes scanned for the any books that might allow him to study up on this language. He continued searching for several minutes, before finally locating the book he was seeking. The page on it seemed old, but well keep, causing him to pause as he tried to read it's cover.

"Τα έργα του απλού ανθρώπου."

He blinked for a moment, before he realized he couldn't understand what the words meant. He picked up the book and placing it under his shoulder before he began looking for another book that would help him in decipher the books context. He search only took a few seconds as, he found another book, and one that’s title was both writing in the Vulgar Variant and the normal tongue he spoke.

Λόγια του παρελθόντος. [Words of the Past]. This is the book

Picking up the section book, he left the language section and began walking towards one of the desk sections he had seen past the front desk. Once he reached the table he placed book of the items down before opening book of the, and started scanning over the words. The second book seem to have be a rather beginners guide to learning the language, but still it was hard to clear understand the context of the words in both books. It would be rather pointless if it wasn’t somewhat challenging. And so began his journey into the Vulgar Variant.

Shin’s journey into that ancient Kumogakurian Language had been long and filled with complications. His first day of attempting to translate the words, how ended rather unsuccessful, due in part to him being unprepared in copying down the modern translation of the words; he only had a few blank pages with him, as well as him having to learn an entire new grammar structure than the one he had been taught during his days in the academy. He had since then, on the days after his training and required patrolling, brought several small notebooks that he would have on his person before he would return to the library for studying. For the first few months, he hadn’t focused on speaking the language, but rather dissembling his knowledge of his current vocabulary as well as rebuilding it so that he could clearly speaking the Vulgar Variant, as well as his modern tongue simultaneously. Being able to develop his knowledge of this second language as well as improving upon his own, would allow him to quickly develop an inner knowledge of the Vulgar Variant alphabet, and how certain words lettering would change depending on what he was speaking about. He began scripting the alphabet on his personal notebook.

This turned out to be a lot difficult to do, even with the second book highlight the basics of the language. Most of the modern vocabulary and the Vulgar Variant vocabulary held the same alphabet with the exception of a few words. It wasn’t until he was learning to form words with Vulgar, that he would notice the clear differences within both the written and spoken text of Vulgar when in comparison to modern Kumogakurian. For example in one of Shin notebooks he wrote down the phrase: The snowy mountains reminds me of home; in modern Kumogakurian before he would then write the Vulgar Variant form of the words, which would be phrased as:
Τα χιονισμένα βουνά μου θυμίζει του σπιτιού. Since he had learned most of basics of both of his languages, the third and fourth month of his visits to the Bibliotheca detailed him writing down common phrases in both tongues before speaking them to ensure that his able to read either silently or out loud in Vulgar.

These exercises did help him greatly during his studying, allowing him to begin reading
Τα έργα του απλού ανθρώπου or as he had now known after months of practices and several notebooks latter as ‘The projects of the common man’. He wouldn’t complete the book during these months, as there as still phrases and wording that he didn’t understand completely, but he would make sure to write them down for study latter. These would continue in the month following three months, until during the end of the eighth month he had found himself reading the books without the help of his notebooks. During this month he hadn’t felt the need to utilize his notebooks for his studying, as he was finding himself understanding Vulgar without the needs of his previous guides. He had actually gave up the notes to the librarians, seeing as he no longer need them to focus on his studying, claiming that they could do what they wished with them. He would continue his work of learning the language for the rest of the year and for another three more months, before he was comfortable with Vulgar and able to speak it with proficiency. At least he believe it to be the case. Time would tell if his studying had proved beneficial in learning Vulgar, but he for now he would allow himself the time the relax. Hopefully there were more Vulgar text he could read and acquire more words to translate on his own without the needs of those notebooks he required so long ago.
