Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kamaru had changed clothes and showered, looking the part of a miner probably wouldn’t help him fit any. In truth he wasn’t sure he did belong yet technically but if he played the part people would have to call him out on it. He didn’t really know the hours of operation but walking into the offices seemed a bit much. Finding someone and asking how he could get in contact with the Head Guardian of Lightening for an international affairs discussion he was concerned about kind of hit the person out of the blue. If asked he’d state his name, if asked about his position he’d simply state from his understand it involved all things connected to the Main Branch and the future of it to include students. If that was enough he’d wait around and see if someone would be available to let him know where he could find the woman he needed to talk. Kamaru wondered if the place had a break room or a coffee machine.

(OoC: Requesting Megami or someone to fill out paperwork with for a statement of sorts... or point me to another thread if that's more convenient.)

It have been a couple days since Kazuki had first been admitted into the prison and her talk with the Kage. After such a day, she had contemplated the complexity of the situation and realized the only thing to do was search for this Kamaru that everyone kept speaking of. Endo had given her some valuable information that could at least help her out in the form of a small slip of paper. It wasn't much, but the address had given her a place to start. The problem was though that it seemed worked was almost flowing in like a series of rough rapids, flowing towards a waterfall that went over a large cliff. To anyone with less experience and training, it may have already been too much of a burden by now, but she wasn't one to quit or take a break, even when pressure was elevated.

She had searched the Academy, seeking out this new addition to the village, one whom had set up camp of sorts teaching there. Originally the trail seemed to run dry, as she hadn't seen any documented information as of yet that indicated he was there. It wasn't like she was going on much either. He failed to turn up records in the database she had access to, for he wasn't an original native of this country. Furthermore, newer records would take longer to process, so if he had just came in recently, the legal proceedings would have to work themselves out in the chain before she could review anything. At a dead end, Megami headed back to the Spire, wondering if she should try to talk to the Kage again, see if any new leads turned up. Or maybe she could push some of these desk workers to speed up the processing of transfers. She shook her head as she walked one of the corridors, thinking what she should do next. The shape of a figure in front of her made her look up, seeing a man walking in the other direction as her. He seemed to be confused, or maybe not confused, but out of sorts. Megami would call out and get his attention. "You look kind of lost. Is there something I can help you with?" Megami seemed to just be helping everybody out as of recently. While technically under her job description, she was beginning to wonder where everyone else had ran off to. Ah well, her job was never done. Maybe it would give her something else to do besides wander the village in search of a name she had no face to place it to.

Kamaru still looking around would begin to reply back, ”Yes is there a coffee po-… Err I’m trying to get a meeting with the Head Guardian of Lightning if she has a minute. My names Namamoto Kamaru, I’m here to discuss the release of a Senju Kazuki. Do you know…” He slowed down as he spun around looking at the lady that had asked why he had looked out of sorts.

Looking her up and down Kamaru blinked as he thought.

Hmm female, pink hair… and she’s here. Couldn't hurt to ask.

”Would that by chance be you? I’d like to find out what I need to do to get Kazuki released as my charge. Is there someplace we could discuss it or is here fine?” he stated walking over to meet her officially. With the major part done of tracking down who he needed to talk to. All he had to do now is find out what to do.

She was a bit surprised to just have found the man she was looking for by happenstance. Two days worth of looking in the most expected place, only to run into him in a place she didn't even expect to find him remotely near. Yet another surprise was he seemed to know who she was already, or make a very correct assumption of who she was at the least. More importantly he seemed to be informed that Kazuki was in fact in the prison and he was aiming for his release. A brief thought crossed her mind that she might need to reassign some guardsmen in the prison. But now wasn't the time for that. As he approached her, more questions at the ready, she just nodded once. "I am the Guardian of Lightning. Seems we were looking for each other then. I'm in need of clarification on certain matters, and then we can discuss the matter of releasing Kazuki. But this isn't the place to talk. Come with me." Megami continued to walk in the direction she had been headed, assuming that Kamaru would follow her.

As she approached a door, she used a key to open her office and took a seat at her desk. Here, she pulled out a small tape recorder, and started it. "Take a seat." She made no hand gesture signaling for him to sit, but there was obviously a couple of chairs across from her desk for such matters as these. The room was very barren, nothing more than the desk, chairs, some book shelves with books that looked more like decoration than anything, and then a couple paintings that served the same purpose. Overall, there was no feeling of a personal touch to the place, just a room that served the purpose it was meant to. At least no dust had collected anywhere, though she was very certain it very well could have it if the janitorial staff didn't do their jobs. "You've made it clear you're aiming to release Kazuki, but I have questions first. Would you be willing to answer them for me?" She paused, waiting for a response. She doubted this meeting would last long, in any case.

Kamaru apologized for being hard to find explaining since he hadn't settle on a place really he was still sort of a transient living at various places for a short time getting use to different people in the areas around the village. Realization anyone new in town would be hard to find he made a mental note to go through the records when he could find them and had time. It was mostly administrative work but it was something that could probably be beneficial. In the very least he'd have a brief skim of the all the personnel in the Main Branch possibly their level of ability and prowess. It seemed subject was not something to be discussed in public so he followed her. As they walked into an office she started a tape recorder Kamaru smiled since it seemed some practices were the same regardless of the village you were in.

”Yes I’m requesting Senju Kazuki be released into my charge and I don’t’ mind answering questions for you. We’re working for the same person so I guess anything I can do to help assist if it’s within my knowledge.” Kamaru stated clearly dismissing the tape recorder for the most part. Sitting down in a chair across the desk from the lady he folded his legs his hands folded in his lap. ”What would you like to know?” he inquired.

At least so far there hadn't been any open hostility to deal with when it came to this situation. She had been lucky thus far with everyone's cooperation. The procedure itself was unique, and needed several different steps to talk, rather than standard policy. As Kamaru took his seat, Megami proceeded with her questions. "The reason Kazuki is in holding, is because a group came to me, bearing information about this individual. My questions are this. Who are the "Dragon Crew"? Why did they have a kill order on them? Has Kazuki committed any real foreign offenses? And lastly, can he raise the dead? If you're unaware of these answers, simply say so. But these are my questions." Much of this just seemed to be a tangled web that kept getting twisted back around itself, but obviously the rest of the Sennin and their Kages were unreachable at this time. So it was clear that she was going to have to grasp at straws if she wanted to gather any intel.

Leaving Kamaru to answer her question, Megami would open a large drawer on her side of the desk, and ruffle through several filed papers, before she found the one she wanted. She carefully removed it, letting the door close shut with a small 'clunk'. She sat there, reviewing the overall wording and making sure this was indeed the right form that she wanted. She set the paper facedown on her side for the time being. "It is very possible to have him released, perhaps even today. I just need to know if he's going to be a problem or not." Perhaps that sounded harsh, but it was part of her job to know these things. If there were particular individuals that needed to be kept an eye on, she may end up reassigning some people around on different watches. But until then, she would just listen.

Kamaru listened quietly to the line questions and sighed slowly with the mention of the “Dragon Crew” he pinch the bridge on his nose with his thumb and forefinger and nodded as she continued closing his eyes.

”The Dragon Crew are a group of kids out of Leaf City in the Fire Country. Personally I think they act more like would be gangsters and delinquents than shinobi and to my knowledge of hadn’t seen them go on missions, Sakamoto Shida is their leader. I’ve been around gangsters in my line of work and that’s why I stated them would be. But we are a bit liberal I guess in Leaf so you can be anything you want to be. Even if it’s a disrespectful bunch for the most part that feels a need to cause property damage to feel important.” he began after opening his eyes.

”As for the kill order everyone in Leaf City had one that were shinobi, could be perceived as one in disguise, or those abiding us while we were in hiding before we got most of the people out. Kazuki was part of the Operation to extract people for the exodus here. The “Dragon Crew” and their leader was not. Personally I have no idea why they didn’t fall into line to assist the city when we were in crisis but that wasn’t in your line of questioning so I won’t digress.” Kamaru continued thinking for a second about the last one. Personally it seemed kind of selfish, granted he hadn’t seen Shida since the incident at the bar so he wasn’t sure what the boy was tied up in.

”As for foreign offenses I have no idea, you’d probably need to speak with Kazuki directly and if it’s not sensitive information he’d probably state the status of things you asked. As for raising the dead I’ve seen it happen around him, don’t know how it all works really.” Kamaru admitted before he added, ”I would point out he has used them to bolster our numbers during the Civil Riots in Leaf when we had a three way stand off in the streets. When you’re trying to keep the peace and samurai are cutting you forces down having several there that didn’t seem to mind or having the samurai not know what to do did assist us. The Fire Diamyo stated killing his guard that were put in place to assist us afterwards seemed sketchy afterwards considering when his men were hacking us down in the streets, third party didn’t help much either way to resolve things but the samurai seemed to not mind cutting them down as well. But that’s slightly off topic from the question but I think it’s important. Kazuki is and does what he’s done I think for the good for the good of the people and city. Granted currently the people are less and the city is on lockdown by now from the Daimyo of the Fire Country.”

”Any other questions?” Kamaru inquired back.

Despite being told outright that this "Dragon Crew" was nothing more than a sort of greaser gang, she couldn't really say she was surprised. It was a miracle in itself that she was even able to understand any of them, with the kind of slang they were using. Megami herself was a woman of few words, said what she needed to and usually that was it. She was clear in her intentions and aloof to everything else. Kamaru seemed very forthcoming in his explanations to in inquiries, and she listened attentively out of due respect. When he had finished speaking, she gathered her thoughts. "I can see that perhaps this situation is just two sides of the same coin being viewed from another perspective. Both are made to look bad in the other's eye. I believe that regarding the circumstances of Konoha's fall, calls were made with judgment that may have been necessary at the time. So I can level with you for his release." Megami then turned her attention to the paper she had removed earlier, though stopped short of picking it up. "Though I understand the circumstance, be aware that raising the dead is considered a grave offense to my people, one that is punishable by death. We respect the bodies of our fallen and the souls of those who have moved on. If he can raise the dead, he best do it elsewhere." Megami was very clear about this particular moral law of stone.

She gave Kamaru a moment to think on what she had just said, but in that time she moved onto the paperwork. It was a simple form, really. She flipped it over, and pushed it towards him, along with a pen. The document itself was a light shade of parchment, written in a type of font that came with all the legal documents one might find in the Spire. It was a single page, and the text only took up half of the parchment itself.

The document was simple, and easy to read. There was no fine print or long sections with subsections. It was just a simple release form for technical purposes that would document that someone waived the speculator charges against Kazuki and that he was free to go. And furthermore, if he were released, any offenses he commits while in the country would fall under their laws and not Konoha's, as he would be considered a refugee. "In order to release Kazuki, I'll just need to you to sign this form. It's standard processing, but once it's signed I can have him instated as a refugee, and removed from his holding cell." Megami would wait for Kamaru to sign the document, or if he had any issues with them.

"Understood." He stated signing the paperwork after a momentary pause after he statements, "I'll be sure to tell Kazuki again if he is not aware and we will both review a copy of the laws that state and overlay the rulings towards such things. Although I don't really know what all goes on with it reading the rulings should be within my grasp. Hypothetically though, since it seems a grey area if he did such a thing to say an enemy of the village that was not one of you from Stone or a threat to Earth Country after they died in battle or to get information... Is that kosher or a no go? Hypothetically of course." He would ask pushing the paper back towards her. He was curious into who was or was not in the scope of the law. He also didn't want to watch idly if Kazuki may do something that could get him executed.

Once the hypothetical was answered he'd scratch his chin with a final question although he kind of knew the answer, "They didn't mention Kazuki wouldn't tell him where he sister was or something along the lines of withholding information or something along those lines did they?" he'd ask candidly. "Anything else I can do to speed the process along?" he's asked once his sidenote question was answered as well. If she'd be escorting him there he'd wait but for the most part he'd explain he'd make arrangements for when Kazuki was released. "When I get some time I'll see about looking into records and see if there's a faster way to get all the refugees out of transient status and into something more searchable if need be as well. If it goes smoothly maybe I can start moving backwards from there. Have a good day." he'd explain before leaving.

Taking the signed document, Megami placed it into a file meant to be for documents that would be processed individually later, once she got around to it. Kamaru continued to speak though so her job wasn't over just yet. "It is generally frowned upon, in any regard. But if it is not one of our own, then we don't have claim over what happens to their bodies. We would only review the case if it were one of our citizens." It was true enough. Though incredibly disapproved by the villagers, many had passed into the village that were foreigners. She did not know the policies of other countries as well as her own, so if they allowed such things to take place, she could not consider them having committed anything illegal in her own country. The only instance this would be an issue was if the body was a stone citizen, or a stone citizen was performing the acts.

Waiting to see if there was anything further, Kamaru proceeded. She thought back to the meeting and remembered such information being discussed. "They mentioned it, but it didn't seem that interesting. It's a personal matter, and we all lose loved ones eventually." Megami knew that all to well. She could have said more, but there was no need to. She stood from the desk, aiming to leave as well. "Given the circumstance, I'd like to handle his release personally instead of calling it into the guards on duty. We can go there now if you wish it, or when most convenient." The rest of his comments were simple and things she was going to see about herself, but if someone could help push it along then she didn't have to take on the burden of doing it herself when her schedule was already so swamped. In any regards, she was thankful.
