Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Masa decided to keep things to herself for the time being. Indeed, it had been only a short while since she and her group had entered the village. For Masa, she was just hoping that her people... her former people... would find this place habitable. Masa still had plans to go to Sand and then Iwa. However, there was much to do in between. First, she had to wait for the Raikage to come back.

So Masa decided to kill some time in this bar she just found. It was low key and seemed relaxed. No one seemed to pay any attention to the female in the black kimono. This worked just fine for her. Masa sipped on her drink, waiting for nothing to happen.

[OOC: Joining cos whoever it's private with hasn't joined yet. Can ignore me if you choose to.]

It had been an interesting time for Kushin. Lots of things going on and lots of changes, both personal and professional. He wasn't one to drink alcohol, indeed he disliked the taste of the liquid and he hated its effect on those who drank it. The loss of control was something he would never allow himself to suffer. To do so would likely mean that he would need to leave the village, as he knew his own dark thoughts and where they led, it was his conscious mind which stopped his less savory desires from being satisfied.

Yet he walked into the bar. He didn't look at the other patrons, indeed he didn't care about them or what they were doing. Walking up to the bar he didn't even notice the woman in black next to him, or rather he ignored her presence entirely.

Virgin Bloody Mearii. He requested. He always enjoyed the name of that drink, and the colour.

The bar tender went about getting him the drink and when he asked for money Kushin simply showed him his badge of office. The man nodded, though there was a certain reaction which Kushin never noticed, the paling of the face and slight sweat. His reputation was well known within the village, though in truth it was a reputation he encouraged despite it only rarely being accurate, and never being able to be proven.

[ooc- It was only private because I wanted a solo RP. However, I welcome RPing with someone. Just note I am busy)

Masa watched another patron enter the establishment, her eyes constantly watching what was happening around her. She heard his order and she smiled. Going to a bar and ordering something non alcoholic. How cute. Masa held her liquor very well, being able to out drink anyone in her ANBU days.

Masa swirled her drink a little before finishing it.

"Bourbon please. Neat." Masa would say, her voice calm but rising slightly to be heard above the din. Masa kept her eyes on the new patron. The badge seemed to indicate he held some power. ANBU? Medical? Main branch? Time to test the waters.

"Bartender? Would you happened to have seen an Isaki Karurosu around?"

The bartender looked at her and shook his head.

A voice beside him said something to the bartender, and he ignored it. It sounded like an order, and based on how the bartender went about fixing a drink it was. Thus it was none of his business and he wouldn't go poking his nose into learning more. He just wasn't interested enough. He sipped at his drink as his mind went back to what he was contemplating. A cure or something which the village could weaponize against the awakening chakra systems that were happening in the lower country. No matter what he needed to stop it from occurring and the more he thought about it the more he realized that an attack would need to be made.

...Isaki Karurosu around?

The name Isaki had caught his attention, much as it would when anyone said your name. Who this Karurosu was he didn't care, but the last Isaki which visited the village had been decided to be put to death by all three of the Sennin, Shin be damned. He also had payed enough attention to notice that the woman's tongue wasn't the same as that of a native, and he'd been around his wife long enough to know where it belonged.

Is this Karurosu another missing nin from Mist? He asked. He knew of Mist's fate, but still they did have missing shinobi from before the village was destroyed. He'd stopped drinking his drink. The idea of another Isaki in the village possibly causing his wife strife with their actions had Kushin contemplating going on a hunt. After Hoshikata had come through Kushin had grown an immense distaste for that family.

Masa looked over at the man, her grey eyes neutral.

"He was the medical Sennin of Mist but was away when the village fell. He told me he was coming here, so I came here first looking for him. If he is not here, I am on a pilgrimage of sorts anyway, so I will have to leave. The people need me, but not right now. I am waiting to speak to the Raikage." Masa would explain, swirling her new drink a little before sipping at it, tasting the amber liquid. "Are you interested in the missing ninja from Mist or a certain one?"

I see... He said and took another drink from his drink. Perhaps this Isaki was worth finding. Another medical sennin would likely have very different ideas and skills to himself, which could be used to continue to strengthen the abilities of Kumo's medical facilities.

I'm afraid I'm not ANBU and have no interest in the gates, so I don't know who has and hasn't passed through. For the most part.

She'd mentioned that people needed her. She was searching for a Sennin of the village and was waiting to speak to the Raikage. Was she the spiritual leader of Mist? Of course she could also be a kage herself, or ex-kage. Perhaps someone who thinks like an overprotective mother over everyone, assuming that they can't survive without their mothers care.

She had a drink and then asked him a question.

I'm not really interested in them at all. Indeed the one I am thinking of was one who was supposedly performing a diplomatic duty, and then aided one of the weak minded shinobi to leave illegally. My issue is how he might be making Cloud look. The name of the one I would kill is Hoshikata. I cannot stand weakness, but the ones worse than that are those who create weakness. He is one of those.

Masa did not even blink as Hoshikata's name got brought up. It appeared that he had been right to say that he had made enemies here. Hoshikata would likely try to stir up trouble and then use that trouble to his advantage to gain a position of power. Normally, this would work. However, it seemed this Cloud shinobi were having none of it, so he had to leave and hope they either die or forget about him. It looks as if he would have to wait for the former.

"I know of the man you speak of. A cunning and powerful old man. That should be expected of a former Mizukage. I should know because I am one." Masa would say coolly. She would take another sip "I guess I Should introduce myself. I am Kasumi Masa, the last Mizukage of Mist. I think I like the sound of that." Masa said, almost absent mindlessly. "Either way, I apologize for his actions. There are few that can control Hoshikata, for he does what he wants when he wants. While I do not wish harm to anyone from Mist, save a select few, I will not persuade you to not kill him. He got himself into this mess and he can get himself out of it." Masa would say, taking another sip of her drink, the amber liquid soothing to her.

She spoke of him as a strong shinobi. Likely he was stronger than himself in a direct fight, Kushin wasn't much of a fighter, more a scavenger, though it seemed people stepped warily around him despite his self-perception. The lady introduced herself, the most recent Mizukage, well he'd been right with thinking that she was a high ranking official.

Still he would introduce himself.

Good. Was his first reply, good to what though? He meant it towards her not attempting to stop them causing harm to Hoshikata. He and the other Sennin already had an agreement that he'd be killed. I should introduce myself as well. I am the medical Sennin of this village, Isaki Kushin.

His wifes clan name was used, he didn't usually use it when introducing himself. To anyone outside the village he was usually known as Chigokai Kushin, his birth name. Yet it seemed more appropriate to let this woman know his relationship with the man he would watch die.

So have you had an audience with our Raikage then? He assumed that she would want to speak with him. The Raikage was a busy man, often taken up by his own busyness. Still he was kind and Kushin had no reason to organize his death. His nature by default seemed to command loyalty by those around him, and though Kushin didn't feel it himself he also knew that to take that away would hurt the village he held close to his heart.

Masa let herself smile and then she chuckled softly. It seems that no matter where she went, an Isaki was not far behind. It was almost too much. Almost.

"I do have a meeting, whenever he returns to the village. I wish to keep the meeting short. I am hoping that this village will take some of my Mist civilians. I will be off to Sand next, and then to Iwa. From there, I have no idea where I am to go to next. I am a wonder of sorts, even a mercenary if the pay and my morals are right. I work to serve, such has been my nindo, my ninja way style. Truthfully, I am interested in seeing that another Isaki is a medical sennin here. Hopefully, you do not go missing like your clansmen. Family is a fickle thing." Masa would say, finishing her drink in a gulp.

Kushin didn't take notice of the smile or chuckle as anything worth noting. His awareness of peoples reactions to things were severely limited, he just didn't understand people. Because of this he usually ignored things like this, otherwise he found he jumped to incorrect conclusions.

However he did listen to what she said, and noted them in his memory. None of it really had anything to do with himself, but it at least confirmed with him that the survivors of Mist weren't sticking together. They'd clearly scattered, and no attempt to bring them together as some form of force was being made. He would make it part of something he would do to go to the location of the village and see what he could find. Surely with such a panicked evacuation he would find many secrets remaining.

I am a clansman of name alone. My wife is a blood relation to him, I am a member of Cloud's founding Chigokai clan. I have no intention of going missing, unless Cloud would benefit by my doing so. He replied to the part which he felt he should reply to. He didn't consider the Isaki clan his family, though he identified more with the Chigokai of his birth he also didn't consider them his family either.

There was something he was curious about though, and this was an opportunity to gain information he otherwise would be blind to, and could be the difference should combat result What method of combat does Hoshikata use?

Masa nodded. This man had decency around him. Truly, this was a fine shinobi. Well at least he was just married into the Isaki clan. She hoped that it would last. There is enough despair in the world.

Masa inwardly scoffed. She had become so dramatic since she lost the village. Morbid even. Tsuyoshi had been there to help, that wonderful son of hers. He had helped keep her spirits up or at least level. One could ask for a better son. Or stronger. Technically he was a Genin, but his power was so much more than that. Speedy like his father but the taijutsu from herself He was perfect. Then again, she was biased.

Masa decided that she should try to answer the question that was posed to her. She respected Hoshikata, but she also knew that he would turn on her if the price was right or if he could better himself from her death.

"I have never seen Hoshikata fight. However I know that he loves the power of ninjutsu and his staff is dangerous. Also, watch his eyes. I have seen him angry only a few times and the man radiates power. If I were to fight him, which I would avoid personally, I would get in close and fast. Then again, taijutsu is my specialty. I would get him away form his staff first and then make sure to interrupt his ninjutsu. Getting close to him will prove a challenge. He seems to have a precognition about such things. If you wish to kill him, bring a friend because you are going to need it." Masa would say, signaling to the bartender that she would like another and a glass of water. She would wait to say anything more until she got both.

"What, exactly, did Hoshikata do while he was here? I can only imagine, and possibly guess from what he has told me. I would like to hear the other side, besides this helping of a shinobi to escape. In my travels I can keep my ears and eyes open."

Kushin frowned. Melee and Ninjutsu. A strong combination if used correctly, it gave him access to jutsu which Kushin avoided generally due to his own lack of physical prowess. The woman described her own fighting style, which was interesting, Kushin had no intention of doing the same. Bring a friend she said, that was probably the most useful part, but Kushin never fought on even terms. Doing so as a Shinobi was silly.

The paid remained in silence as the bartender went about gathering the drinks ordered. Kushin was thinking about what had been said, his mind coming up with different methods which could help him. Ninjutsu. It was a troublesome power due to how varied it was. Yet it was his strength. He knew many Ninjutsu, so variety was on his side, or so he hoped. Perhaps even that would be incorrect, he had been a kage, so perhaps he too knew just as many ninjutsu as he himself.

Troubling.

The lady had a question about what Hoshikata had done. Kushin was unaware of anything else, other than what he had already said. Perhaps what she wanted was an explanation.

He aided two Cloud shinobi flee the village with a group of shinobi around him. A potentially dangerous force for any village to deal with. I want him dead before that potential danger has the chance to make itself realized. In addition what if he were to go to every village and do the same? One of the two was well trained, even if he wasn't worthy of being called a Cloud shinobi. A force of shinobi allied to no village, thus no country and effectively fighting for the highest bidder could prove to be dangerous, not just to Cloud.

The man needs to die. I would die to achieve this if that was what was required.

It was for the betterment of his son's future. It would be for the benefit of all of Kumogakure's sons and daughters. Perhaps it would be for the benefit of the world. Yet he wouldn't be doing it for fame or glory, he would do it for their futures.

Masa would say nothing in response to the man's claim. Masa wished him luck internally, but still knew that he had a long way to go. Such determinism was admirable, but it takes more than willpower to fighting a former Kage.

Masa would finish her drink in a gulp, putting the glass back on the table gently.

"I think it is high time I speak to your Kage. Since you are such a high ranking member of Kumo, would you escort me to the Raikage's office? I fear I have dawdled too long and I must get the ball rolling." Masa would say as she stood, cane in hand and showing no signs of being intoxicated. It would take a lot more than that to make Masa wobbly on her feet. Masa would pay the bartender with some money as she stood as well.

"Truthfully, I must go. I am not telling you to escort me, for I am sure I could find my way on my own. Still, it would be nice and my personal guard is exhausted from the traveling." Masa would explain, placing cane on ground.

Masa would turn and go into the street. She would turn to see if the Isaki by marriage would follow and then lead. If he did, she would follow. If not, she would begin her search for the Raikage's office.

It was a request by someone who should be respected and someone who Shin would want to see. He knew his duty, though he didn't always follow it. This time however he didn't see anything wrong with showing her the way, though once reaching the Raikage Tower he would be on his way. There would be meetings a plenty he was sure for him to take part in with Shin in the coming days.

Standing he accepted the request and guided the last Mizukage to her destination.

He didn't really care if she would gain from it what she wanted. After all that wasn't up to him to decide or think on. Though she had been interesting and had provided him with information which he would otherwise not have attained.

Hopefully it was accurate information.
