As they approached the gates Manzo had a smile on his face. It had been too long since he had seen these gates. He briefly wondered who they were going to be greeted by. Someone he knew or someone new. It had been long enough that he was sure there was going to be new ANBU that had risen through the ranks.

Putting that thought out of his mind he turned to Kazuki ”Here we are at the gates. I am sure they are different since you last saw them, I know they have been rebuilt a few times.“ He did not expect an answer, Kazuki had not been one for small talk on their trip but that did not bother Manzo. He understood sometimes people just needed a little space. He had been that way when he left these gates after all.

Not sure who was going to be greeting them, he did not want to deal with any kind of hassle bringing a foreign dignitary in so he pulled out his headset to make a call.

Hitting the ANBU frequency he called the ANBU Sennin. ”Takeshi-sensei we have arrived at the gates.“ He may or may not come down himself but he was sure he would send word to make their passage easier.

Takeshi heard the headset call go out from his office, it seemed that Manzo and his honoured guest would soon be getting to the gates and he had much work to do in that split second. Takeshi allowed himself to grab his sword as he slung it across his back and headed straight for the gates, making sure he was quick and avoided being stopped at all costs. It seemed the new ambassador would be arriving, and he wanted to meet his old teacher directly as was promised when they arranged for this visit to take place. It would be a flying visit but one that he looked forward to none the less it had been a while since Kazuki and Takeshi had finally had time to talk.

Reaching the gates, the green haired Sennin would glance around and found Manzo there as he moved quickly over he allowed himself to smile broadly towards the man that was waiting for him. They had spent a lot of time together since he had been in sand and it seemed that the man had arrived with travel that he needed to do. Takeshi recognised the importance of this as he reached Manzo.

“I appreciate being summoned now how was the travel, I hope both of you had a safe trip when you got here and that Kazuki was shown every courtesy on his travels. When he arrives, we will get both of you logged in and you back to your home Manzo. Thank you for carrying out this mission for me, I appreciate it greatly.”

Seeing Takeshi approach, them Manzo smiled. He was wondered if they would be greeted by the Sennin himself or would he just send word. Though Manzo was not surprised this was an ambassador that he was escorting and as such it would not do to have just anyone greet him.

Addressing his Sennin ”The travel was pretty uneventful. I wanted to make sure that no harm caught a glimpse of him, not that I don’t think he couldn’t handle it if it did, hence the reason for arriving a bit later than you.” Sure he had come across some bandits but that was not something that needed to be discussed at the gates. Besides all that trouble was handled before Kazuki had even had a chance to wake up.

Manzo reached into his pocket and pulled out his passport ”Not that need to know who I am but it is good to run through the drill, even if it is to set the example.” he wasn’t sure if Takeshi was going to ask him for his passport or not but he did not want Takeshi to think he expected special treatment due to their time together. ”I have heard some interesting rumors on events that have transpired while we were gone. Any truth to them?” Word had reached him on his way in about some of the changes that had happened to the village, It made him worry a bit, to think so much could happen when he was not there to help protect the village.

Takeshi listened to the man speak, it seemed that the travels had gone well, that much he couldn’t fault and even he knew that Manzo was the right man for Job. Takeshi allowed him to explain the situation and how they had managed to get the job done and there was little in the way of problems with getting the man to return home with the person he was to escort. As he allowed himself to pause and listen to the words Takeshi allowed his hand to come out and take the passport that had been offered. Opening it he studied it for a few more seconds than usual more for the ability to have a joke with Manzo.

“You have been granted entry back into the village. Just make sure that you report to me when possible, I have tasks for you that I want to be completed. Also, you are correct there currently is a student tournament taking place inside of leaf, now go enjoy the times, I believe the second round will be starting soon. I will wait here for Kazuki to arrive as my duty requires. At least go get yourself some food”

Takeshi spoke the words as he handed the passport back to Manzo knowing full well that the man had been gone for to long. Takeshi stood silently at the guard hose allowing himself those few seconds to make sure that he was waiting for when people arrived.

[Kato Hana]

A student tournament, that was something Manzo was glad he had made it back in time for. Tournament were always fun and a good social event. The most important part was there was always good food. He felt like he was starting to waste away, though truth be told he cold afford to waste a bit away, not that he would ever admit that to himself. Eating on the road was never satisfying.

The pause Takeshi gave him with the passport made him wonder for a second but then it was approved making Manzo think Takeshi was messing with him. It was good to be home.

Take his passport back he bowed to Takeshi. ”Thank you. I will get cleaned up and try and make as much of the tournament as I can. It will be good to see what the next generation can do. “

With that Manzo did the typical ninja jump away and vanish.
