Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Sarunishi had kept himself wrapped up from the beginning of his trip into Sand and to this very point. He had no desire to actually get identified by anyone just yet. It was relatively hard to hide a body like his own. If one were so inclined they'd likely view him as a pure force of nature. For now, he'd pretend to be oblivious to it all. He had no markings that would designate him as anything other than a monster if his body were to be observed. Otherwise, he was just an aimless drifter with few knowing he was even a real thing. He smiled a bit and approached the area where he'd have to go through the motions of entry. He didn't really care one way or the other if he was allowed in or denied entry. He simply wished to get away from it all just for a little while. Upon his back was a relatively modest backpack and as pure usual, his oddly designed hakama made from blue and black material hung from his waist and down to his usually bare feet. Every inch of skin was covered cept for some area around his lips which would only be seen as deep black patches. He'd hoped it was a relatively older escort. Older being in their 20s or later. He had rules that he would follow without question.

Juzo examined the approaching stranger with an amused expression. What looked like bandages or wraps were covering him from head to toe. Aside from that it was painfully aware to the Medi'cs well-trained eyes that something was off here. The slight bit of flesh exposed to the winds was an unnatural black color. Silently he moved from his perch atop a small three-legged stool and walked forward to the visitor. "State your business."

His blue hair seemed dull and lackluster in the mild sunlight. Standing at five foot ten, he was formidable but not intimidating. A solid body sat beneath his head wearing nothing but a large white haori that covered most of his body. Leaving nothing but hands, feet and his head visible to the stranger.

Sunagakure was already a heavily guarded village, terrain wise. There was a life within the underground sanctuary which connects Suna to the Outside world only accessible via the Maw of Barnyx. A creature whose power once threatened Suna now protects it with it's bones. Kind of ironic, but these were the little things in life. Hasu Hikuidori traversed the gates pacing himself, taking it easy to become accustomed to the role of gate duty once again. However being underground ensured you wouldn't have too many visitors and the ones who made it were either Sunan shinobi or crafty people.

Hiku would stumble upon a strange wrapped man approaching the gates, and another shinobi already handling the process. While it could easily be stated that the other shinobi was already on the case, it never hurt to have two heads, over one. The shinobi world was a harsh one and this ordinary gate procedure could turn into a violent standoff. In that case Hiku would be there, ready to assist in whatever need called his services. The chuunin would stand silently wartching as the visitor and the first responder would exchange information (hopefully).

Sarunishi's wrapped left hand lifted to his face as he gently stroked his chin in thought. His bright red eyes shifted ever so slightly from the individual who began to speak with him and to that of the other individual just watching. The smile remained on his face and he slouched somewhat. Being as tall as he was at 6'6", he often did such a thing to seem less intimidating. His shoulders were also slightly sloped inward, in conjunction with the slouching, to appear subservient through body language. All the same, his smile never waned as his stroking fingers ceased their work.

"Quite, quite. So curt. I'll assume you've all had some trouble recently enough to make you less than friendly to travelers. I'm but a simple merchant from greener lands looking to expand my business. I know my current appearance may seem disconcerting, but worry not. It is simply the result of surviving an attempt upon my very life that left me unnaturally scarred. I'd supply a passport if such a thing were required for simple folk such as myself, but unfortunately they're not and that does make like that much more difficult, gentlemen."<i></i> Honey words of wind. Of course, nothing Sarunishi did would really betray what he was saying. Lying was just another art that ninja had to deal with constantly. It was more a matter of getting someone to believe it or pull leverage.

"Now, I understand of course, if you have enough business or wish not for my patronage and contributions. Times are always hard for folks such as yourselves, so all I wish to do is bring some joy to your lives."<i></i> That damned smile. It just never slipped away. Even his eyes lended to the smile, despite their obviously unnatural pigmentation.

Juzo listened but he remained unmoved. "Regardless, you will need to expose your face before any decisions can be made. You have not stumbled upon some small village at the edge of the world. This is a military installment and our safety procedures are second to none." While he spoke he became keenly aware of the other Sunan shinobi who seemed interested. Not that he could fault him too much, as the gates were relatively devoid of activity, but it was one of his pet peeves to have others silently watch his interactions with others. For now he would ignore the intrusion and continue with gate duty.

"As a merchant, I find it surprising you are not aware of the fact that Suna does not permit foreign merchants within its walls." Juzo said with a dry tone, unsure of what exactly was going on. Perhaps it was some manner of test?

"It is a strong possibility it is a test of our gates defenses. I cannot even remember the last time such a routine was carried out." The med-nin thought to himself while awaiting an answer. "Or perhaps he really is just a lost merchant. Too bad a former Kage discontinued use of truth serum when offering water to wary travelers. It really was a great way to get some truth out of those who stumbled onto our doorstep....."

"It's almost as though I'm useless here.", Hiku noted in his mind. He was only her to get his feet wet with gate guarding again. He was out of practice and inexperienced when it came to guarding the gates, and experience was the best practice. "If I'm going to do anything then it should all be in silence. Me talking and butting in would only show my inexperience and poor communication skills. I'll just wait until this is over to speak with the first response." The merchant spoke of a an incident where his life was in danger but he survived the question of -how- sprang in the mind of Hiku.

"I was unaware simple townsfolk didn't need passports either. I was sure they were forms of ID for anyone. Unless he was from secluded village off in the corners of the world he should have something, and invitation, a certificate, just something more than a story. The pieces weren't adding up too well in Hiku's mind and he wondered what this person before them was hiding because that was obvious from the shaky story. His senior said it best, and Hiku couldn't agree more. "This village isn't a normal village it's a military front. To allow anyone here would be unheard of let alone welcomed. This guy has the right idea."

They could only both wonder if the odd merchant before them was going to reveal what he looked like beneath the bandages. He wanted to know from the man's story about the trip here, and these injuries he sustained. To be honest I'd like to probe his mind and pick at his head to know what's inside of there. That is if my brethren feels he isn't who he says he is. I just want to know how he made it here. Could be for a good bit of information for our security.

"Boy. If you treat all of your visitors this way, I'd kindly like to speak with your superior. I've dealt with few villages in my times, but they are the best for income. Now, with my experience they never treat potential guests so rudely especially if they can provide additional income. All those people bring your villages contracts so that you can make money? Those are foreign merchants. They're selling you work. As a human being, I find it surprising you are not aware of the fact that your entire existence hinges on the affairs of the external world and I suggest you speak more politely from this point forward"<i></i> and not a single moment did the smile leave his twisted lips. His heavy hands lifted, one from his chin and the other from his side, to undo the linens protecting his head. They draped easily down to his neck exposing a face that would appear severely burned without closer inspection. Of course, Sarunishi wasn't about to let the other get that much closer at this point. He was already annoyed.

"I expect I may take my business elsewhere if this doesn't improve. I have stumbled upon a small village at the edge of the world. Small people. Small minds. You've spoken true of one fact, however, being that your 'procedures' are paramount."<i></i> Click click click. His tongue snapped in his mouth as his eyes rolled back towards the one all of his words were directed. Given all of his speech, he'd been staring at Hikuidori. Sarunishi knew this was all likely to be the way they conducted their business, but this individual questioning him was definitely not a people person. He was simply meat and he smelled awful. He wasn't worth the meal he'd make if Sarunishi was pushed much further.

Juzo remained, unflinching. "I don't really care what you want."

He pointed in the direction the man had come from. "That direction is free to any and all. Even.... freaks like yourself." From there he began to take a closer look, moving forward a single step as he did so. "I suggest you choose your words more carefully or I will remove your head so I can examine it better. As I am afraid you are woefully unaware of who it is you had the misfortune of being intercepted by." In his own mind he couldn't help but feel a slight upheaval in his emotions. Not only did this look like a very interesting specimen but he was also aggressive enough to slaughter without worry of any consequence. Then he thought about it, consequence? Who would even be able to do such a thing?

Not one person in the entire Village. That was who.

The strange merchant's tone started off so poorly. It was going to be a mess if the cutthroat guard got antsy. Times were strained and these kinds of moments would only bring more poor actions. However the merchant kept going and all Hiku could think was, "Things are not going to pleasant the way this keeps up. This guy is going to be turned around and sent home alone, after braving these sandstorms it could make any man mad." Hiku wanted to step in and ask them both to calm down but he wouldn't let his fellow sunan brother lose face in this situation. What he said seemed like the stricter approach one Hiku should learn to adapt quickly.

Things seemed to die down until the man began spitting nonsense about Sunagakure. "You just had to go there huh geezer. You just had to insult our home. Talking about a guy's village is like talking about their mother. Situations tend to get hostile... Hiku wouldn't indulge the merchant's comments but he couldn't say the same for the other guard. He began throwing a few the merchant's way mainly about detaching something vital from somewhere it once belonged. However Hiku felt like it was time for him to step in now before things got out of hand.

Pointing at the old man he said "Well that escalated quickly. I think you should leave now. Come back and try later when you have proper identification stranger." He would leave it up to the man now he could decide what move he would make. Hopefully it would be the peaceful resolve. If not then he would begin planning some flowers... literally.

Sarunishi just laughed and turned on his heel, waving his hand. In the sand vibrations were a bit more difficult to discern if there was wind or other ordeals affecting his surroundings, but in this case it'd be fine. If either of them really came after him he'd feel it and be ready. He was in no mood for anymore at this point. They were just silly children who lacked the understanding of their roles in the world. "I suppose I'll be leaving then. Who knows where I'll go, but the Stone always remembers where it came from."<i></i> Sarunishi just smiled as his hand dropped and he was on his way back into the Maelstrom. He'd be back eventually, but he wouldn't be back pleasantly if he had his way about things. At the moment, he was fuming internally and doing his best to keep himself from simply melting down. He straightened his shoulders and back to stand to his full height. Apparently it was impossible to talk to the children of this world in this place. They didn't understand that they were tied to everything else and that his business was something to be desired.

He licked his lips with his back to the two strangers. At least the secondary individual was more even keeled than the first. He'd remember. He'd remember exceptionally well. Well, he'd remember as well as his mind could manage. Things were already cloudy and he was beginning to wander into the very desert which protected these people. The desert did it. It seemed like they were only capable of harsh words. "Have a jolly good day, boys. It's hard to beat the sun shining."<i></i> He laughed a bit more because there was nothing else he could really do. It was too funny to hand.

[Leaving Topic. Given the volatile situation, I'd say I'll be gone in 30 Minutes + 30 Minutes for the alert level in case hostilities occur for whatever reason]

Juzo watched the stranger leave. Once he was gone he spoke to the Sunan at his back. "Foreign shinobi always try the innocent merchant act. Would you make a report on this instance and take it to the Kage tower?"

The fingers of his right hand toyed with the haori hanging from his shoulders while he watched the horizon. It was sort of a disappointment, really. It had been at least a year since he had been in real combat. And this case could have been both entertaining and enlightening. But seeing as how he was not sure which Hidden Village the man hailed from, it would have been foolish to be the one to initiate the fight. For all he knew, he came from Mist and they had been trying for years to foster a better relationship with the village hidden in the Mist. "I'll remain behind in case he thinks he can just try again."

The arrogant smile on his face refused to fade. He sure did love antagonizing foreign shinobi. "If only they had some backbone." He thought to himself.

It seemed as though things would die down with the old man, deciding it was better for him to leave. He said some eerie words, claiming that Stone would remember. He made an obvious comment about Suna's living condition. "No matter what you say we're still alive. Good day to you." Hiku wondered about this "Stone" the man spoke of. The manner he said it was just so bold.

As the old geezer left Hiku would wait until his colleague spoke to him. He wanted him to bring this report in. "Yeah no problem, I'll make sure I go into great detail with my report." He'd turn to the other direction listening to the man say that he'd stay behind in case the geezer tried anything funny. "If he does try be sure to call me on the headset. I would love to pick his brain out for information. My name is Hikuidori it was nice working with you." Hiku would begin walking towards the village lift. He would be sure to hand in this report immediately. A few things didn't sit right with him.

When the senior shinobi felt the gate was secure enough, he packed up his things and prepared to leave. The wind on the air felt drier than normal and even the shadows of dusk seemed to descend quicker. Or maybe he was just feeling particularly aware of his surroundings in light of his most recent interaction with another living being. "Keep a close eye on this gate tonight!"

He moved away from the gates then and felt a small tinge of disappointment. So close and yet so far.
