Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

In the distance a bell tower could be heard, signaling the beginning of a new hour. It was seven at night, the brightness of the sun having it’s last projection onto the land below before fading away beyond the horizon.

It was near the area that Asuka called home. A section of the complex where her adoptive family had taken her in, and the most likely location Izura expected to find the hesitant young chuunin.

Izura was an enigma in the Leaf village- a ninja in the truest sense of the word. He no longer focused on combat as he had in his youth- instead he focused on the art of infiltration more than anything. Information was his source of power. But that was not to say he lacked in combat ability. A former criminal, a former war hero, a former anbu operative, he had nearly done it all in his lifetime. He was the first wielder of the eternal mangekyou sharingan, and while he certainly was not the last, it had been quite some time since he had encountered someone with the same bloodline powers as he held….at least to a similar extent.

Uchiha Asuka was the person he intended to meet. Age 13. Already an impressive mission record. Someone with the kind of record she held was quite uncommon. Someone, especially an Uchiha, would have to have had access to a power beyond the common sharingan.

How did he know about her in the first place? As former criminal, he had managed to infiltrate the Hidden Leaf, enter their A.C.M.E Hostel, and access the database from which the hidden Leaf managed all manner of secret shinobi knowledge. Records on all the village shinobi, their last known missions, their whereabouts, and even a basic description of their capabilities.

He didn’t have all the information, of course. But that’s what this meeting was for- to seek out high value war potentials. Data gathering for a team that would help strike back at Frost.

He crossed his arms and waited for her, the veteran shinobi leaning against a nearby tree.

Asuka walked down from the main house where she lived to the Sakura tree she frequently sat under carrying a book on Genjutsu. Hopefully this would help her but she also was going to wait. But in the end, it was a pleasant place. She was usually alone but this time, this time was different. She sighed loudly, it seemed as though it was most likely she wouldn't be able have peace. Most people talked, it was in their nature. Asuka, on the other hand, didn't care about such stupid things, only thing that mattered was to widen her arsenal of skills. Even if it took her more than one lifetime.

She walked without looking at the man standing near her tree, with a sigh she simply sat down, leaning against the branch and opened her book. It certainly was interesting, giving further detail into the art of Genjutsu. It was truly a facinating subject.

The strong, silent type, huh?

Izura’s eyes glinted with ambition, as he casually approached her. He stopped a few paces away, then stopped.

Reading in the dark, without a light. Her visual prowess must’ve been quite good to do so.

“Konoha has taken notice of your impressive growth as a kunoichi. My name is Uchiha Izura, and my purpose here is to evaluate you as a valuable war potential in the fight against Frost…and as a potential jounin.”

His sharingan activated, as he awaited her response. Closing his eyes for a brief moment, he sighed, and activated Kotoamatsukami. It was a subtle move, and one she’d only be able to detect if she activated her sharingan in turn, and saw his eye sockets flare to life with a high amount of chakra usage.

The attempt at using genjutsu on her was little more than a test- a means of determining just what had allowed her to excel in the ninja corps so rapidly. At the age of 13, and already a chuunin? That feat was not easy. And it indicated a particularly powerful bloodline limit, or natural talent. One that Izura intended to find out.

He kept himself on guard- if she tried to reverse the genjutsu on him, she’d be hard pressed to do so. Kotoamatsukami was not something that could be reflected like a normal genjutsu. That being said, if she tried a more conventional attack, he’d have to cancel the genjutsu technique entirely and immediately react with Takaamahara so that it’d pass straight through him. If the genjutsu succeeded in taking effect on her, he’d enter her mind. Not to mess with her memories per se, but discuss things on a more….personal level. Asuka would likely not be so quiet if Izura was able to literally see into her memories.

[CRPJ Kotoamatsukami being used.]
Name of Jutsu: Kotoamatsukami
CRPJ's Effect: Utilizing the mangekyou sharingan, the technique allows the user to enter the mind of any individual within their field of view, and manipulate them by giving them false experiences, making it seem as if they were doing things of their own free will. It is regarded as a genjutsu of the highest calibre, due to the victim being entirely unaware that they are being manipulated. It does not require eye contact or hand seals, but a byakugan user is capable of visibly sensing chakra being used with the eye when such a manipulation is occurring. It can only be casted once per IC week by an Eternal Mangekyou wielder, but has a much greater recuperation time of 1 IC month if used by a regular mangekyou wielder.

Another explanation of the jutsu's concept.
https://youtu.be/RN1W55NCzLo?t=1m13s

Note: Cannot be used without the target's OOC consent. If the target OOCly does not wish to be affected, the user will simply RP being interrupted before the jutsu can take effect.

Reason why it cannot be used in battle: Kotoamatsukami requires the user to remain in a relatively calm and still state for the duration of the jutsu's usage. Any interruption in chakra flow or concentration, such as a simple shove, will cause the user to fail to cast the technique. Because of the extremely precise and subtle chakra control required for this genjutsu, it can be stopped by disrupting the user's concentration.

Asuka stood up, knowing that this conversation was going to go somewhere she didn't wanted it to go. She did hear him and with a sigh she spoke. A face without emotion. "Konoha hasn't noticed anything special. I'm not the first and certainly not the last. In reality I'm not interested in your opinion, I'm not interested on being a weapon for war or being promoted. I only listen to certain individuals. Which in this instance isn't you. So, if you'll excuse me." Asuka turned to leave when she suddenly felt a tingle on the back of her head, what would that exacly be?

Izura wouldn't be able to see much. Most memories were locked away with no access, even to Asuka. Someone.... something had locked them away. But he would be able to see something. Rock walls, rock wall, rock ceiling sourounding him. Screaming all around, sounds of fire burning. Clashes of metal against metal, maybe a small battle? Who knew what it could be.

At first it was a peculiar feeling, the type one got when having a recollection of a familiar person, event, or location, but not being sure of it’s reality. Whether or not that person ever existed, that event ever happened, or that she even visited that location didn’t matter. Her mind had a certain level of fondness with the the voice that was now forming in her head. Her own voice, her own little guardian angel. She was being compelled to convince herself to agree with Izura’s intentions.

And this peculiar feeling soon turned into a nagging sense of curiosity.

He has something I want to learn. Something to make me stronger. And I want to become stronger.

The words echoed in her head, pulling at her psyche like an addictive habit.

“Are you so sure about that? You seem hesitant.” He said.

The words echoed in her head again, urging her desire for power in a direction that she might not even be aware existed. The voice in her head, her own voice, compelling her to take his offer.

It was more difficult for Izura to see into her memories- whatever was there had been deeply locked away by something out of the ordinary. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t fabricate ones for her. She’d recall a particular time she was powerless. A girl named Yuno, who was friends with her. One of her childhood friends, in fact. A girl that she cared about deeply, yet would feel a sense of regret at not being strong enough for her. This was Asuka’s opportunity, her chance to seek more power. For Yuno…

Why she felt so strongly about protecting Yuno, she would fail to remember. She’d just feel an irrationally strong desire to become stronger for her. Because not doing so would be failure. Nothing more, nothing less. Incentive did not have to have reason behind it- only a strong, pervading, instinctual will to seek it’s end goal.
