Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Never ever Yuzuki had got lost in Cronopolis, but today was a special day – first day when Yuzuki got lost here. Thousands of time blond girl walked pass through these houses, looked at those closed shops or ran away from some bullies. At some point blue eyed girl even believed she could walk here at nighttime, but when she got distracted by some little black kitty and took another corner than she usually does...Well, she didn’t simply get distracted by the cat, she wanted to pet it, but the kitty got scared and started to run at some crazy speed and of course, Yuzuki went after it. Moreover, she is not just lost, but she got lost in the most unknown and terrible side of Cronopolis. Filthy, stinky and sadly everything looked around, scratched walls and garbage everywhere… but not to worry Yuzuki looked suitable for this background too. At some point, when girl was running after that black cat, she managed to slip and fall down right in the puddle with some weird trash floating there. Not only her jumper-suit is wet and her hair looks like hurricane went through it, but also that kitty ran away!

It’s been an hour of panicking and running in circles, till Yuzuki calmed down and started slowly walking around the corners of unknown part of the town with little smile on her face. The smile obviously states that she isn’t enjoying her time right now. But now she is carefully eyeing everything she passes by, to remember for the next time if she would get here. But sadly, only half of her attention was to the surroundings, because another half was on the questions how stupid she was to go after that cat. Girl tiredly sighs and scratches back of her neck.

‘’Gaah, this is annoying…Why I keep getting in such messes?’’
Yuzuki asks herself at loud.

Yuzuki sighed in desperation and scratched back of her neck. One third of the day she spent looking way out of Cronopolis. Place that she thought that she knew so well… Blond let out once more a whiny sigh and looked at front of the road. And she show something really familiar, a young raven haired girl. A girl that is her classmate, but sadly they never actually interacted and besides, the short girl always looks unpleasant when someone talks to her. But the fellow young student looked really confident with the way she walked and quite fast too. Yuzuki was getting sick of Cronopolis and she always wanted to become friends with that little girl, so why not now? Yuzuki speed ups her pace and gets closer to the smaller girl.

‘’Hey, hey, shortie, wait!’’ She loudly calls for her, not really politely, but with friendly tone. Actually, she shouted first thing that came to her mind. Besides, she doesn’t even know this girl’s name so it’s only fair to call her randomly that she could at least stop walking. Yuzuki tries to make nicest smile she could ever do and already is thinking bunch of different scenarios to say and how girl will react. Yuzuki only could imagine what kind of embarrassment awaits her when she will be telling the story how she tailed a kitty, fell into puddle and got lost.

When short girl slowed her pace, Yuzuki caught her in mere seconds. The blonde girl was wearing a big smile and eyes full of hope of help, but when she saw expressionless girl’s face, a little shiver went through Yuzuki’s back. That’s the face she expected, but she didn’t think it would be that cold. If a girl waited for Yuzuki she probably is willing to help her...Well, at least blonde girl believed so.

‘’My name is Airiko Yuzuki and if I remember right you are…’’ She trailed of while thinking and thinking really hard. Because, she already was quite impolite, so if she seeks some help from this girl she should at least try to remember her name. ,, Mit….Mitsuki Iolanta! Right?’’ she says in chirpy tone believing that’s her name. The Yuzuki laughs shortly trying to compose her all thoughts in one ,,So, I got lost a bit here and you look like you know where you are going…Well I know half of Cronopolis, but that’s not the point…A black cat crossed my way, you know what I mean, right?’’ At this point Yuzuki was saying everything that got in her head with stupid grin on her face.

“Just Iolanta,”
At her respond Yuzuki quickly nod her head in understanding. Ioalanta’s voice was so calm and quiet, that Yuzuki barely could hear her over her own thoughts! Besides that, it looked that Ioalanta will help her...The blonde was feeling quite guilty of stopping her classmate in the middle of her work, but Yuzuki was getting desperate here. While clouds were busy blocking the sun, it was getting much darker and the streets started to smell like bad luck even more. The blonde calmly followed the short girl.

'’Well, could you help me after you finish your delivery? I can keep you a company if it’s still far away.’’ Yuzuki says with still big smile on her face. It was quite surprising that this little girl was delivering something in such creepy and unpleasant place, Yuzuki always went to Cronopolis by her own curiosity and lack of adventures. But who would sent a child to such place? And what kind of thing is Ioalanta delivering? So many questions that Yuzuki had, but didn’t wanted to ask, because obviously, her classmate didn’t look like chatter-box, actually she didn’t look like big fan of socializing in general.

"Being a Cloud Ninja: The Bookumentary" Hagami would read, thoughtfully stating the title while examining the book. He didn't know what to expect from such a book plus he didn't really understand why he was reading the book. Maybe it was because it held information about his future enemies since he wasn't going to stay in the cloud country, he wanted to venture onward and become infamous but not make the same mistake his father did. He also wanted to find his mother who probably left the country after she dropped him off at the orphanage, speaking of the orphanage...

---

Hagami looked up from the book, and noticed he wasn't nowhere near the Seki District. It seemed during his normal walk this time, he had gotten lost in his book and it seemed he teleported across the village. Even if the Dean didn't allow Hagami out alot since the residents spit foul language at him due to his father who slayed the whole Usho clan for exiling him from the temple. The Usho clan exceled in farming & they also harvested 45% of the village's foodstock. It didn't really effect Hagami much. I mean after he completed his training at the academy, he would strip himself of his clan name and maybe begin a whole new clan. Anywho, the area seemed like a slum type area. It made him think of Cronopolis, a rather dangerous area. "Getting home to that dump would be my best option." He would think. He finally placed his book into his back pocket and began his operation back to the orphanage.

As he walked on, someone would tap his shoulder. Hagami quickly looked back to meet three male adult figures, smirking at him. "Hey guys, it's a Usho." The man in the middle would say, a rather thin fellow. The posse would begin to laugh then the man would raise his hands raising his pointer finger causing them to go silent. Hagami would stare at the middle man who was about his height, everyone else was just abit shorter. Hagami then turned back around towards his orginal direction and carried on ignoring the men which pissed them off. He just didn't have the time to conversate with some irrelevant douchebags. "Hey kid!" The man in the middle said, then swinging his fist at Hagami's head. Hagami swiftly looked back, unconcealing the kunai that was in the interior part of his jacket. The tip went directly into the man's nostrel rather haste causing not even a minor injury. "I am superior over you." The man grunted and bolted backwards, whirling his hand for his mini posse to follow him. Hagami then carried on concealing his kunai once again.

About five minutes later, Hagami heard a rather close meow. He then looked around to have no results of identifying a cat within the radius. He didn't let it bother him so he continued on. As he reached the corner, he would pass-by two rather young girls. One was blonde and another had black hair. He attempted to make eye contact with the blonde girl who had light blue eyes. He then heard meow once more which made him look around again. Sadly, he didn't know a black cat was resting on his head.

Yuzuki clearly was happy that short girl agreed to help. While smiling, she followed her fellow classmate till her attention caught a boy who just walked out from around the corner. The tall boy had dark hair and brown eyes, but most importantly that on his head was calmly laying a cat. Not just simple black little kitty, but same black cat that got Yuzuki in this uncomfortable situation. Blue eyed girl grabs tightly Ioalanta’s hand.
‘’Wait…That’s the hell cat…’’ she whispers quietly while still looking at it. Yuzuki is dirty, tired and is in her classmate’s way of doing her job. It’s all because of that cat. One little cat. Her blood was boiling inside, she wanted to catch that cat and prove that all today’s troubles weren’t pointless. Blond girl blinks few times, let goes her classmates hand and then without any hesitation or thinking too much she started to act.

‘’I-It’s you…’’ She pointed at the boy’s head with huge grin on her face. ‘’Oh, you are not going anywhere now!’’ She loudly yelled at the black cat. And she didn’t stop there; Yuzuki stretches her hands to front and jumps at those two, eagerly trying to catch that cat. While that, kitty stops relaxing on the head of black haired boy and starts to hiss at Yuzuki.

Iolanta stopped walking when Yuzuki grabbed her hand; they felt warm in contrast to her cold hands. She looked over at the cat that she had spotted earlier on the boy's head and realized it was the same cat with the fox grin that crossed her path earlier. The cat looked cute, but mischievous and it gave her this feeling of animosity, and trickery.

‘’Oh, you are not going anywhere now!"

Iolanta's eyes widened slightly, wanting to stop her, but not having a loud enough voice meant she could only do so much. Iolanta could not handle the feeling of embarrassment, and because of that she could not help but want to protect Yuzuki from that feeling. She reached her hand out after her to try and stop her from crashing into the young boy, but was too late in doing so. She watched the events take place before her noticing the boy had a concealed kunai that was revealed as the blonde girl cased after the cat. A different feeling filled her, one that alerted her of possible danger.

It seemed Hagami for sure gained her attention as she attempted to tackle him onto the floor, but successfully knocking the kunai out of his left jacket pocket. As he fell, he would then hear a hiss that spooked him bad, he didn't shake/shiver though because he was use to being spooked by the villagers during festivals were wearing costumes were permitted. No actual person in Cloud Country liked him due to his father, so picking on him was natural. Finally, he then quickly recovered from the fall, his back not even getting a chance to touch the filfthy floor. He looked up at the black cat and grappled onto it's stomach, holding it high in the sky as it tried to rush off.

Hagami would then look at the blonde girl, his face still concealed except his hair and eyes due to the balaclava over his face and his hoodie was taken off when he was falling to his doom. He would extend his arm to the girl which held the black cat. After that, he went over to get his kunai that fell out his pocket which laid by the black haired girl's foot, he slowly picked it up hoping the girl wouldn't think he's trying to hurt her in anyway. As he stood up, he looked back spotting the same three men he encountered about 25 minutes ago. Hagami sighed, closing his eyes in thought. It seems I've been fated to die early to pathetic cloud smut. The day began to get breezy, and Hagami's jacket began to sway in the breeze. The man leading the posse was different, this man had red hair and a horizontal scar splitting his nose (Not actually). He pushed the blonde girl out the way, and chuckled at Hagami as he stood face to face with him. "Usho...The clan that almost destroyed the countries food production." Hagami silently grunted to himself.

”Interesting,” Kazuma said to himself, watching a couple of kids from above on a nearby rooftop. Honestly, there was nothing special about the three children. Innocent expressions, the wide-eyed naiveté and careless wandering about, was all pretty much standard fare as far as Kumogakure’s youth were concerned. However, a situation unfolded that piqued his interest a bit. Three men approached the small trio of kids, seemingly intent on ruining the days of the unassuming kids. Kazuma expected the kids to run, or at least try to. After all, these “dangerous” looking scumbags were almost twice the size of the youngsters but they didn’t run as nature intended. Instead, they removed kunai from pouches and decided to take a stand against the miscreants. ”Perhaps, I should step in,” Kazuma wondered, a slight grin forming across his face as he watched the young girl stand next to the boy in defiance of the natural order of things. ”Nah. Not yet. I would be diminishing the bravery they’ve shown if I did that. I’ll let this play out… for now.”

After all, they decided to stand and fight alongside each other instead of running and hiding like most would’ve assumed. Time to see if the kids were doing their homework or if they were just cruising through school until they become full fledged shinobi. Hidden within this false sense of peace was a dog eat dog type of world, and it was better for these innocent children to learn that now rather than later.

Yuzuki wouldn’t be herself if she didn’t fall. Her knees met the ground as she quickly looked at the boy, he did look kind of sad, but for the most part because he was hiding his face he seemed mysterious and a little bit strange. Not only his appearance was interesting, but he also didn’t yell or shout when thanks to Yuzuki he almost touched the ground. And Yuzuki was gladly surprised when he stretched out a hand with that devilish kitty, she quickly took it and brought to her own face while holding it with two hands. Cat didn’t look happy but it wasn’t trying to runaway now. Yuzuki turned her head at the boy who was now standing next to the Ioalant and stood from the ground herself.

,,Thank-…’’ as Yuzuki was about thank him and maybe babble some more to Ioalanta and him about little black troublemaker when suddenly she felt someone’s hand and got pushed aside. Blond girl glared at their backs and then quickly made her way in front of these near the boy, which they called him ‘Usho’ and Ioalanta. Tall girl did hear somewhere this surname but at this moment it doesn’t really ring a bell, because those big guys clearly were about to fight. Yuzuki sees Ioalanta pull out kunai and little girl’s expression now was not bluntly empty, but now it was serious and also, black haired boy got kunai in his hand too. Tall girl let out heavy sigh and put a kitty on the ground, because she understood that something will happen now and it’s time to get serious. Black cat quickly rushed away and Yuzuki stood into something which looked like fighting position: one leg in the back one in the front and she pulled out her own kunai now.

‘’Hey redhead, picking up on kids won’t make more food, you know. ‘’
Yuzuki said with quite serious look now on her face. That man seemed to ignore her, but another one that was closer to Yuzuki yelled ‘’Oh, shut up!’’ and also, he swigged his hand and was about to hit her, but he didn’t do it, he just got ready to do that. Blond girl’s expression didn’t change and situation looked pretty simple to her: three men and three kids, but what to do? Fight one on one? Sure, these man don't seem look like strong shinobi, or shinobi at all.

Hagami twirled the kunai on his finger causing the redheaded man to burst out laughing. The man then snapped his finger which made the man next to him, run to the other man who held a rather long bag. The man unzipped the bag which took longer than usual due to the length. As it opened, the man grasped his hand onto something and when his hand came out it was a katana but no regular one due to the weapon's steel being of vermilion and not the usual silver. The man quickly gave the redhead the odd katana and resumed his position taking out a kunai, same for the other man. Hagami knew the odds were not in his favor in weapon comparisment but he wasn't about to withdraw and flee like his father. He was pleased to know he had help from the strangers though.

"I will take the redhead," he said to the black haired girl causing the redhead to chuckle since he was face to face with Hagami. "I would gladly slay an Usho." The man swiftly placed the katana to Hagami's neck. Hagami would stand there, his hair becoming messy cause the breeze. He would then look at his kunai, and grip it tight in his left hand. He held no true emotion so he then swung his fist at the man's cheek, hitting him directly where he wanted causing the man's head to jolt to the right. The man looked back to discover the kunai at his throat were if Hagami pierced even abit he would be a dead man. The man laughed even if the kunai was at his throat, the katana still rested on Hagami's neck. His fellow companions looked at each other and then the girls and played stone, scroll, or kunai to see who they'd get. The men then laughed as they headed off at the blonde girl and black haired girl. This was gonna be a rather crazy brawl.

The blonde girl was felling rather tense and while looking what is going with redhead and black haired boy she understood one thing clearly things are much more serious than she thought. She stared for few more seconds till quite a big man blocked the view. Yuzuki looked at him with a smile on her face and when man was about to swing his kunai at her, she avoided it and was about to kick him into stomach. For girl’s misfortune the big man grabbed her leg and tossed her over his shoulders, in the process she lost her kunai. Yuzuki’s stomach quickly met the ground but her smile didn’t leave her. How many times she was lying on the ground today? Well, there is no time to count or think about that, so she quickly jumps back on her feet and she tries to look for her kunai. The big guy dashed at her with kunai and once again with mere luck she avoided his attack. The girl noticed her kunai and when she was about to grab it, man grabbed her neck. While holding it tightly he brings her closer to himself whit huge grin. Yuzuki stares at his face while feeling quite shaken. Then she lightly kicks him into his knee and he laughs. He was to say something but she made second kick which was much more harder and man lets her go for mere seconds while swearing loudly. Quickly not to lose her moment she kicks once. This time she strikes behind both of his ankles and gives him a push making him fall. Man let outs a groan and when he started to stand up Yuzuki kicks him in the face. Man grabbed his nose and whined, while Yuzuki looked at her fellows with startled look in her eyes.

Hilarious. The whole situation was pretty hilarious to Kazuma and all of his stalking. Perched on the ledge of the building as if he were ready to descend on unsuspecting pray. Honestly, he couldn’t tell which fighting style was worse. The lack of killing instinct from the children, or the fact that these grown ass “bullies” sat back and let the kids have their way with them. Perhaps, this was the difference between a shinobi and a common thug, even if the young shinobi hadn’t finished their training. A small grin appeared across his face as he watched the young blonde girl conquer her fear momentarily, delivering a kick across the face that would surely cause one hell of a headache. The raven-haired girl was more calculating in her attacks, focused on disabling her combatants vs. finishing them off. It was cute but that type of naiveté would more than likely lead to her death. Then again, maybe that type of ideal was the attitude that the world needed but not that it deserved.

”He, on the other hand, has a death wish,” Kazuma commented to himself, amazed by the amount of poise that the boy had shown but also the unnecessary risks that he took in his style of fighting. Honestly, he had read this story before and it never seemed to end very well… not ever. The “Usho” boy, whoever they were, seemed to have a grudge with the three brigands, and seemed to think that recklessly leaving openings for his opponents to strike was the best way at taking them down. It wasn’t. It was reckless, stupid and downright selfish…

Especially considering that he had two other comrades that stood up for him. He owed it to himself to do better…

But for now…

Kazuma would just continue to watch in curiosity. After all, they seemed to be doing quite well on their own, and these bullies didn’t really stand a chance if they couldn’t manage a couple of kids. Snap of the fingers and they’d all be dead. Quite literally, in fact.
