Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It had been some time since she had entered the Forest of Death. Last thing he had remembered was something happening between Akumi, Hoshi, and an odd otter. But remembering wasn't exactly the right word for the current time as she wasn't entirely conscious at the moment. Her mind just played what she could remember at the time, though the world around her, time passed and everything. Nothing seemed to be different, outside of her parents worrying about her, but otherwise the world had went by as if nothing had happened. As if she had just disappeared without much of a trace after the meeting and the sudden explosion and realization that she would see that she had mouths on her palms after she'd wake up from whatever she was experiencing.

For Ritsuko, its as if time hadn't moved much at all as her unconscious body was in a camouflaged cocoon of clay that had kept her safe, though as to how she became surrounded in the clay, would mostly be a mystery for the time being but as the sky darkened and had soon started to let loose a downpour of rain. Sure, it had rained before after the dark haired girl had disappeared from the face of the planet but this time the cocoon had started to break away and turn to dust even in the heavy rain.

As the cocoon itself had broken away enough to reveal her body to the rain, it didn't take too terribly long for her to regain consciousness. Though she had regained it, she was in a fairly heavy haze, not entirely noticing that it was raining for a few moments. Even when she did, she'd slowly get up, feeling little from the world and even from the wound that was on her hand which hadn't healed even after all the time that had passed. By all logic, it should have, but at the current moment she just wanted her senses and her memory to not be as hazy as they were.

She'd put her uninjured hand on the ground to help her up, but would remain with her hand on the wet ground for a few moment just to collect herself as best she could before trying to stand up. With her palm facing the ground, the mouth on said palm had opened and started to chew on the grass and the mud that was openly available to it as the mouth was itching, so to speak, to chew on something as the mouths on her palms seemed to be more aware of the time that passed than she was. Not noticing the mouth on her palm chewing anything, standing up and staying upright was her first main challenge as her legs hadn't been used for some time, she stumbled for a moment before catching herself on a nearby tree with her injured hand.

This here would happen to be the time that one sense would expect to be hazy actually wasn't, her sense of pain. Wincing from the pain was the bare minimum of what she would do upon feeling the pain in her hand, but due to how hazy everything else was compared to how she felt overall, she'd easily be able to deal with it even if it was able to keep her mind off of how hazy she felt.

The mouth palm that had been chewing up the grass and mud had spit it out after a bit, with it falling onto the ground with the noise of it being muffled and drowned out by the rain. The clothes that Ritsuko was wearing clung to her body as she made her way through the Forest of Death, and even her hair that was put up in a certain way so that it was nice and neat was mostly down with how much the rain had messed with it.

Taking sluggish step after sluggish step, Ritsuko would make her way away from the spot that she had awakened from and made her way to where she thought the path, that she had strayed so far away from so long ago upon hearing explosions, was in. However as time passed with her steps, a decently loud explosion had happened shaking the ground even where she stood, causing her to slip on the wet grass out of surprise. The explosion was behind her, that much she knew, and with the sound of a tree falling not long afterwards with the gentle sounds of mud hitting the ground mixed along with the sound of the rain, somewhat spooked Ritsuko, and it showed on her face enough.

Slowly getting up, with both hands and wincing as she did so, she'd get up and look around for somewhere to stay until the rain let up but with the quick scan of her surroundings, she didn't find even a small cave to sit or stand and shiver in. Forcing herself to trek on, she'd hope that she was heading in the proper direction and not towards danger.

Zenko ran through the forest almost in a panic. Somehow, he had lost Kenji. Kenji liked to think he was 150 pounds of terror but the fact of the matter was he was still a kitten. They had been playing in the woods, when the explosion went off which spooked him and sent him running. Zenko grabbed Kenji’s favorite toy, a stuffed tiger, and went running after him. There was just to many things out here that were bigger and stronger than either of them. Together they might stand a chance but not separate.

Trying to find Kenji was made even harder by the rain. Neither one of them liked the rain but that was kind of the point of playing in it, to try and get used to it. They both knew that fighting in the rain would eventually be something they needed to do. It was not as if Mother Nature was always going to be nice and provide for an area that suited their needs after all.

He ran fast enough that his dreadlocks flew behind him, trying to look in every direction at once. But the problem with looking in every direction was you did not see what was right in front of you. As was the case when he ran smack into some girl knocking him to the ground.

Ritsuko didn't even have much of a chance to start walking after standing up before getting knocked to the ground. Landing on the wet ground had shaken some of her memories loose from before she had emerged from her slumber. She could tell time passed afterwards but she didn't know how much exactly.

She'd remembered that she had gotten attacked by... something. She couldn't tell what it was from her memories and just that she was there. She felt pain so she couldn't be dreaming or dead, she didn't think. All she could tell was that there was a bloodstain on the front of her shirt and two small holes as if someone had attempted to stab her but only going through the shirt with the tip and only going through her skin the same amount. Landing on the ground with an audible thud had caused her to both wince and panic a bit as the memories that she had recollected didn't show anything happening to the creature and brought her to believe that it had come back after her.

Letting loose a shriek after being knocked to the ground, she'd panic and move so that her back was against a nearby tree, even seeing that there was another person nearby but not knowing if that was the true form of the figure trying to throw her off with some sort of ploy or not. She couldn't exactly reach the pouch of clay she had at her waist even if she had been thinking better rather than just out of fear at the current moment. There were two other pouches were clipped to the waist of her skirt our of the way and were just pushed between her and the tree she had moved against.

"P-please don't hurt me!" Was what escaped her lips as she almost curled into a ball while the rained poured down throughout the entire forest.

Zenko sat on his rear for a second getting his bearing on what just happened. Looking over he noticed a girl around his age also sitting on the ground. Well at least it wasn’t a tree that jumped out and knocked me over. Big Brother would never stop giving him a hard time if he ever found about that. Kenji would laugh at him as well, of course he was going to have to give Kenji a hard time for running away at the loud noise.

As the girl scampered back against the tree he watched with curiosity, she seemed to be afraid. Was she running from someone?

”Hurt you?” hye asked, the shock clear in his voice. Wiping the water from his eyes he flicked his hair back behind him so he could clearly see her. ”What are you talking about I am just looking for my friend when you jumped out in front on me? Perhaps his own ego would not so readily admit that he had not been paying attention.

The girl had heard the man ask what she had pretty much just said before wiping the water that was clinging to him from his eyes and flicking his hair in a way so that he could see her clearly before asking her what she was talking about and that he was just looking for a friend when she had jumped out in front of him. "J-jumped out in front of you, I was just standing there! For all I know, you could be what attacked me before just acting like that just for me to let my guard down!" She's yell, as she would move both of her hands to her face as tears streamed down her face with the rain making it so that it couldn't be seen that she was crying.

Her left hand still being bandaged, though the rain couldn't have been good for the bandaging itself, and her small wounds at her collarbone and just below had been causing more blood to be soaked up by the shirt but the rain pouring down had caused the stain on her shirt to lighten up a bit. "If you're here to finish off what you started, then just do it! I can't run away, so just end it!" The girl would shout once more, with her voice trembling and her face still covered.

Taking the opportunity to slowly stand up. The girl was one step away from hysterical, which was the last thing he needed. He wasn’t sure if the yelling would drive Kenji away or bring him closer. Either way he needed to deal with this hysterical girl. He weight some options before simply holding out his hand in an offering to help her stand up.

”I am not going to ‘finish you off’ as you say. I am here looking for my friend. Please stop yelling though you are either going to scare him off or think I am in trouble and then come back to help. Either way yelling is not going to do much good” Seeing the bandages on her he started to wonder. ”Do you know anything about that explosion that just happened?”

He was known for being out in the forest at the wrong place and the wrong time in these woods and the last thing he needed was something chasing her down and he being stuck in the middle.

Takeshi listened to the speaking, it seemed to be rather loud if not a bit extreme. Takeshi was out doing some work he would rather not talk about, at that time. But the noise had caught his attention. His black robes covering his body form sight as the mission he was on had only just finished, the white hood ranking him out to others as he landed on a branch to witness the commotion. It seemed that someone had just crashed into another person, though that caught the attention of him as he stopped.

“What is with all this noise, try not to attract so much attention to yourself. Let’s face it it’s not exactly easy to stay quiet but try your best”

A second figure landed beside Takeshi its massive bulk almost making the captain look small, in black robes and a white mask this was just a standard Anbu as it looked down to them.

“Captain, it seems they did not fortify this position well”

“Indeed, are you both ok down there at least?”

His voice cold almost able to cut ice, unlike the other ANBU the Captain had a pure black tiger mask with red weaved into it, his green eyes piercing down to the two that had caused a commotion.

Feeling the rain continue to wash over her and with both of her hands covering her face before pulling them away and seeing the guy around her age hold his hand out as an offer to help her up before stating that he wasn't there to kill her and that he was looking for his friend. Either her yelling was going to scare him off or make him come back thinking the kid was in trouble and try to help. After a moment, he'd ask about the explosion several moments earlier and shook her head. "n-no I don't k-know anything about the explosion..." She'd state, hesitantly before hearing a voice from above state that they should try not to attract much attention to themselves, and that it wasn't easy but to do their best and be quiet.

The moment that the girl had laid eyes upon the cloaked figure that had spoken, another one had landed beside them and made the first voice look small in comparison. This is where it stopped being that good for Ritsuko as both figures on the branch were clad in black, even with the first one having a white hood. The figure she remembered after having been bumped into and having her memory jogged was that the figure that had attacked her an indeterminate time ago, was fully clad in black which the second figure on the branch now filled.

After her mind had put two and two together, with it automatically putting the figure that just there and the one that had attempted to kill her at that point in time as one in the same which she would do her best to try and run away on the wet grass as fast as she could, but her speed wasn't great in any sense as she just slid in place for a second before just trying to get away like a bat out of hell. She had even tried to let out a scream as she ran, but for some reason she just couldn't make the noise.

This encounter was doing nothing but confusing Zenko. Well specifically this girl was confusing him. But then he wondered if any girl didn’t confuse him. It seemed that everything seemed to scare her. At least this time she wasn’t trying to get away while sitting down.

Zenko looked up at the hooded figures and instantly recognized the ANBU mask. He had heard all kinds of terrible things about the ANBU while he was in the academy. Tales of them stealing children to be used in experiments. Being a secret police arresting people for crimes no one knew there was a law for. He had even heard of how one had killed the Hokage then raised him from the dead to act as his puppet. Taking a step forward so that he was between the masked killers and the girl, no that he had any illusions that it would do any good but if you are going to go, alway go in such away that you would be remembered. His big brother always told him. ”Are you hunting us? Are you the one that was setting off the explosions in the woods?” At least Kenji would get away, he was glad of that.

Takeshi looked down at the boy that spoke to him, his green eyes closing slightly almost in annoyance at the sound of the being question though he allowed a small sigh to come to his lips. Deciding to address the issue at hand, in a flash Dorn was on the move, his massive bulk landed right next to the female academy student, as he glared down at her threw the mask. He was a towering presence at that moment in time, not speaking but instead choosing to look and watch the student, one hand came down and waited to see if she needed a hand.

“May I assist you with a hug Ma’am?”

His voice calm and calculating only made Takeshi hate him more, he was rough, blunt, to the point sometimes that was a good thing. Right now, offering the girl a hug probably was the worst thing he could have done. Takeshi was already moving darting down towards the boy that questioned him, landing in a crouch in front of the kid he pulled himself to full height, the black mask of a screaming tiger focused fully on him.

“No, we just came back from a mission, though that really isn’t your business, I wanted to know what you two are doing making such a commotion over here”

His voice cold and direct towards the boy, he hadn’t asked for names yet, but he was more wondering what explosion but that would come later. Right now, he wanted to know why they both were out here and how this was going to fix the situation that was coming his way. Takeshi looked from one to another, it seemed that neither of them would be able to run, so they would have to talk. Nothing wrong with talking even to someone like the Captain.

“My names Is Green Shadow, Captain of the ANBU and who are you?”

It was quite loud today. Half of the reason she moved out here was because people did not venture to these parts and the women valued their privacy. Besito noticed the noise first, but, whatever it was, Yomi felt it was better that she would be the one doing the investigating and should she need him, he’d come thundering in. Besides, no one was going to mistake her wolf for a wild disturbed beast and attack him, if she could help it. He wasn’t too keen on that though, and followed her out until she forced him to stay back, with promises that she would call him at the first sight of trouble.

Well, well what have we here…

Yomi watched the group from above as she sat in a tree. A masked individual and two children seemed to be the culprit. One looked scared shitless and the other looked pretty confused. The masked individual, an ANBU, seemed to be handling this situation. Still, any sight of a little girl in trouble, piqued Yomi’s interest, especially when surrounded by men. Of course, the little girl could be the one causing the trouble here, but, that was semantics. The Goddess was unsure of when she developed this soft spot for little girls. Though she guessed it was some time between learning the truth about who she prayed to and loosing her old team members. Anyway...

She would watch and would swoop down if she needed too. For now, she would simply witness their exchange.

As she scrambled to run on the wet grass, the guy who had run into her and had started the entire scene that had caused her to freak out had spoken to the black cloak clad figures that stood on their branches. She didn't pay attention as she did her best to try and get away but as she had been trying to get proper traction to run, the larger figure had landed right next to her which caused her to seemingly overreact to the figure landing next to her and just about turned a full ninety degrees as he landed and asked her if she wanted a hug which wasn't something that she'd even going to respond as she couldn't entirely form a normal sentence.

The full reaction was that she had used her hand to quickly push her away from the figure, though the moment her palm had touched the body, the mouth on her palm would quickly open and bite down for it to check exactly what it was but all it had caught was fabric which it would have let go in the second after biting down and close once again.

Zenko stopped following the girls movements it was going to be too much for him now. He was facing death now. He thought back to all the stories that his parents told him growing up about the monsters that were ANBU. They were the ones that punished kids for misbehaving. They were the monsters under the bed. They were the ones that come when you stayed up to late and here he was facing one face to mask. It had just finished with a mission when it came across them; this must mean that their lives were forfeit for knowing the ANBU was in the area.

In the brush two small eyes could be seen for any that were paying attention. If the ANBU was quiet when he moved the creature behind the eyes was silent as the grave for that was what he had been bread for, since the beginning of his species.

In an instant it pounced on the figure of death. Though the weight was only a few pounds it nails were like needles. As it tired to find a grip on the ANBU’s back

”KENJI NO“ Zenko yelled at the cub fear in his voice. ”Run away before he gets you too“ It was clear to him that the panther cub had sense Zenko’s distress and had come to save him, though not being big enough to truly do much. When the cub was not going to run away Zenko decided to beg for the cubs life.

”Please don’t kill him.“ He begged the boggyman. ”He is just scared for me.“ There were almost tears in his voice from worry about what this Green Shadow would do to Kenji

Takeshi allowed a small sigh of annoyance to come to him, it seemed that instead of reacting like normal people they were going to go over the top in this situation, that would have to be dealt with. The cub attacked in what could only be assumed to be a split second. Anger rippled into the Uchiha’s body like a wave, but he silenced it in a heartbeat, as he looked towards the boy he let his hand come up and pull the small young cub by the scruff of his neck up to the mask and inspected it for a few seconds.

“Well this probably wasn’t the smartest solution to the fight kid, not going to lie right now this just means things are going downhill and quickly.”

Takeshi spoke calmly still holding the cub, though his eyes rotated to the red insight of the Sharingan as he looked at the puppy that had tried to sink its teeth into him. It seemed that things probably were not getting any better on Dorn’s side as well, since the girl had reacted badly on that front as well. It was something that had been unexpected or intended, and right now they have very limited options. He just wanted to speak to them and this whole blow up meant the situation probably was about to go downhill.

“Dorn capture her, make sure that she doesn’t bite you apparently she wants to sink her teeth into some flesh”

“Understood, Capture and Detain the escaped girl”

He was already in pursuit, knowing full well that he was better trained than his pray Takeshi had to address his own situation right now. Looking at the cub he grinned under his mask as he tilted his head to the boy, tossing the pet back to him like it was a ball you would play catch with.

“So now your situation, since you decided to attack me we have a few options to go forward form here. First one is we talk and you go home and everything is fine, second you run I capture you and we go for a walk to jail. Third is I kill you both now and no-one would ever know. Fourth is you can just cry. I prefer option one for the future reference”

Takeshi would give the child time to consider all the options that had been given to him in the split second. On the other hand, the girl that was now being chased probably came off worse. Dorn was already in front of her in a second his hand coming out and grabbing her at that split second. His mask inches from her face as well, it seemed that the two kids had no-where to run now. Both took their chance with aggressive actions, this would see the situation worsen.

“We have two choices, I take you back to Captain walking and happy, or I take you back under a much less desirable situation your call”

Dorn was not the type of person to be messed with right now. He had his orders and they would be followed or a fight would take place, his body showed this much as he stood sentinel in front of the girl unwilling to move or let her escape so easily.

Well, this escalated quickly. The rain poured down over Yomi as she watched the scene unfold. Being a sneakity snake gave her a visual advantage over the whole shit show. A little cub attacked the masked dude and another dude apprehended the girl. Yomi listened as the young boy pleaded, he was clearly afraid and had anyone else been watching, their heart would’ve broke based on how he pled for his cub’s safety.

Yomi was dry, but, unfeeling was a stretch. The fact that she was here proved as much. She imagined if she was in the little boy’s shoes, would she protest the killing of her own pup. She would, but, not in a tearful way, but, in a murderous intent way. Yomi could barely hear what the masked people were saying over the thunderous rain but, it was clear that they were saying something based on the boy’s response. She would wait for the scene to play out a little more before deciding on what to do. Yomi didn't want to judge the situation as it could easily be misconstrued from her point of view.

As time passed with her attempting to run away in the downpour, she wouldn't pay much attention to the guy who had run into her initially then had blamed her for it, as she was more focused on her own situation with the giant of a figure that had attempt to stop her. As she had pushed off of him to try and get some distance, the figure would soon be in front of her and had given her two options, with her still in motion and having had to slide to stop or just run into him. The slide didn't help her much at the moment as she'd slip and fall onto her butt anyway.

While being given two options from the figure, she'd stand up and take a few steps back. While attempting to move back, she couldn't entirely stop herself from trembling. As she had turned around, she couldn't have outrun him though it wasn't the thing that had happened when she had turned around. An echoing laugh had stayed in the air for a moment which had drawn a shriek to Ritsuko's throat which had escaped her lips almost as soon as she had noticed the laughter.

Ritsuko looked around the area as best as she could with the downpour obscuring her vision, though with one figure that looked similar enough to the shadow-clad figure that had attacked her some time ago. She couldn't entirely see any sign on the shadow-clad figure as she either looked in the spot where it had revealed itself too soon or just a moment too late. Moving from beneath the earth as if nothing was there and emerging every now and again like a fish in water, it would soon find the angle and jump from the ground in the blink of an eye towards Ritsuko with one of its appendages primed to at least hit the girl with it in a less crucial area as to not kill her right away this time. Whatever it hit, be it terrain or a body, it would pass through without any resistance.

Zenko was a little confused. It almost seemed like the murderous ANBU was being reasonable. Could the stories that his parents told him were not true. Were the ANBU not the bogyman of the village, prepared to take any child that misbehaved away? That was why they wore the masks wasn’t it? Talking a deep breath, he could smell the scent of death lingering off the ANBU with his enhanced nose. This could only confirm to him that his parents were right, the ANBU were the devils of the village that no one wanted but no one could get rid of. As far as anyone knew, his or her next-door neighbor could be an ANBU. What better way to ensure that the populace did not rise up against their bogymen then hide them in plain sight.

As he looked at Kenji hanging by the scruff at his neck giving the ANBU a low growl. Kenji knew that he obviously was not going to be able to reach the ANBU. With the ANBU not killing Kenji outright like he originally feared he started to gain control over his emotions.

”I will do anything you want, just do not hurt Kenji. He is too young to know better yet” Perhaps he could talk his way out the ANBU killing him, or at least if his life was going to be forfeit then maybe Kenji could get out of this alive.

Takeshi looked to the boy, it seemed he thought begging would get him out of this situation, as he allowed himself to sigh for a few seconds. Pondering on what actions he would have to take in the next few seconds. Not wanting to come off like the dark scary man he probably appeared to be he knew catching these people was probably a bad mistake right now, but what to do. His eyes continued to look at Cat for a few seconds not sure on how to proceed he sighed to himself.

“You owe me some answers, that much is true, but right now I don’t need to hurt you to get them, or this cat. Its pointless and honestly serves no purpose other than being cruel”

With his words, he threw the cat back to its owner, deciding not to end the life right there and then as he knew it would not be worth it. Nothing would be worse than the commotion that he caused if he killed the animal. Rain poured down his robes dripping form the edge and leaving it clear in that last few seconds. What probably seemed like ages quickly passed by instead as Takeshi let his eyes meet the kids. His wrist flew out as he launched the animal back to its owner.

“Catch, I have no intention of harming something that cannot defend itself.”

Takeshi looked up to the sky, rain pouring down on him as he sighed to himself for that moment in time. He brought his face down to the boy and pondered for a few seconds before deciding to answer him.

“I at least want a name on this one before you just run off”

On the flip side of what was taking place right now Dorn was stood there watching the girl in what could only be presumed a bad situation. As the girl seemed to have stopped running it was the turn of Dorn to do his questioning and pondering what to say as he kept his eyes scanning around for any other possible threat. It was clear that he needed to make sure his job was being done correctly.

“Come with me, I will take you back to the Captain, you will be safe. If you agree I will take you back personally”

His voice calm and booming as he stood prepared to fight if it was needed. Dorn was the pillar of protection, that would stand like a bulwark against anything that might try to attack the two of them.

Yomi watched as the masked individual tossed back the cub to the owner. What a different turn of events. The woman was pleased with that outcome given that ANBU sometimes was said to be needlessly aggressive. However, they were kids in a semi-restricted area and he was well within his right to reprimanded them for being out here. Good on them for not perpetuating a stereotype.

Over yonder, she watched the little girl be attacked by something else that she could not quite make out. What in the hell was going on out here? Yomi sighed thinking that this is what people got for being out here. The rain picked up a tick and the woman figured that since the ANBU were there doing no harm, they were more than capable of handling….whatever was going on with the girl. Besides, she had to go get ready and her pup was probably getting antsy.

As the laughter now echoed through her ears, she fell to her knees as she noticed and let her palms fall to the ground. the mouths on her hands took this opportunity to just about fill themselves on mud and grass, chewing it thoroughly so that they would properly be prepared for what was coming even though Ritsuko didn't have any real control of them at the current time. It didn't take long for the shadow-clad figure to emerge from the ground like a fish jumping out of the water and moving quickly towards Ritsuko, its only obstacle was the giant of a man that had scared her out of her mind but it knew that it would be able to move through it, though it didn't know what effects would happen by doing so.

Moving at a decent speed, the figure would travel through the man and whatever defense he'd try to put up for the ghost-like form, though it would slow down a noticeable amount and with being right in front of Ritsuko, her obvious reaction was to put up her hands which were still chewing on mud and grass, though its target was one of her shoulders which its appendage had easily torn through though its speed wasn't what it had entirely wanted. As it attempted to pull its own appendage from her shoulder, with her own screams and attempting to get away from the figure, the mouths on her palms would smile before expelling the mud and grass from them and as it fell to the ground and on the figures appendage, the mixture of earth and plant matter mixed with her own quite unstable chakra would detonate upon landing. The explosion it would create wouldn't exactly be called a small one in any means.

Creating a small crator, it would send the girl flying and the shadow-clad figure recoiling back a bit before disappearing with cries of pain. The only real sight of which way Ritsuko had flow after the smoke cleared was a fair amount of distant sounds.
