Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Re: Chakra Basics: Transhumanism in the Age of Science [Open

Shisou went through the whole process just as Tensai-sensei described, and the euphoria only continued to thrive around his body. It was as if energy were coursing through his veins that had never been there before. It felt invigorating, and it was almost too much to hold back while meditating. Shisou just felt alive. He could feel his body twitching slightly with the newfound energy, even though the action jostled his ribs, which only brought a severe pain to the forefront of his mind. It didn’t take long for that new energy to come back and dull the pain once more. It was like a wonder drug.

Then it was finished, but Shisou kept his eyes closed just in case. Then Horo was supposed to demonstrate some technique, so Shisou opened his eyes and watched the man. Clearly this man was supposed to be powerful, some kind of teaching tool. Maybe you really could lack etiquette and graduate the academy. Even though the idea was so ridiculous to Shisou that he shook his head, maybe the man truly was something. However, he hadn’t moved yet, so Shisou wasn’t entirely convinced.

Kaoru continued her meditation continuing on with the sensei's instructions, she positioned her hands in front of her stomach then put them on her lap and concentrated on her heart she heard it thump thump one after the other. She repositioned her hands one on her knee while the other rested underneath her chest and muttered"Ram" Kaoru saw a visiion of multiple people in the same position as her they seemed otherworldly she wondered at the spectacle as the energy rushed through her. A nuturing sensation went through Kaoru it reminded her of the days back in the apothecary with her guardains taking care of patient after patient nursing them and healing them, this brought an overwelming nostalgia over Kaoru which almost made her lose her concentration but she persevered past these feeling and continued to relax.

She continued on to the next chakra, the throat, Kaoru put her hands in front of her chest and put her hands in a ring shape. "ham" she muttered. Kaoru finished the rest exercises with ease she felt an inner peace as she relaxed, at one point she felt as if a ring of energy was surrounding her.

Tensai Sensei continued on about how its dangerous to overchannel your chakra and that the hand signals were the basis of judstu. Kaoru became very excited that she was learrning such a fundamental skill early in her training. Tensai sensei then asked the wild looking Horo to do a "Wind Release" tecnique. I wonder what he'll do? she thought.

Keiji did as instructed, the hand motions, everything, the opening of the chakra made his entire body feel warm, and powerful, he felt like he was ready to fight the entire world around him.
His muscles tightened, his breathing deepened, his thoughts only maintained on the chakra flowing through his body, it was a releasing sensation, a feeling of power, as he opened his eyes he felt the possibilities, the opening of the chakra gates could be his pathway, his tool to succeeding in becoming powerful, to protect his brother.

Keiji quickly took out his notebook, and took notes on the mantras, the words spoken, and the hand movements and placement, he draw doodles about the hands as Tensai-sensei kept talking.

Horo, as his name were, was instructed to demonstrate wind release techniques. Keiji's ears perked, as Tensai-sensei said the words "Wind release" There are elements? He got up from his sitting position and quickly placed himself on his chair, awaiting Horo-sensei's demonstration, Keiji had a question in mind about that exact subject, If there's wind realease there must be others as well. he held his hand readily to rise it after Horo's demonstration.

Re: Chakra Basics: Transhumanism in the Age of Science [Open

Opening the third eye successfully on his first try was probably not a very good thing for the young shinobi to be; however, as he opened his eyes chanting 'Aum,' the ghostly apparitions didn't go away. They multiplied. Becoming more and more alarmed, the small child wanted the class to come to an end. Though, the idea of seeing a jutsu preform also intrigued him which overrode his instincts to run. Not to mention, the apparitions seemed more likely to nag at each other than to notice him.

Re: Chakra Basics: Transhumanism in the Age of Science [Open

[ooc: Sorry, all, for not being very present in the last few weeks. School/work have conspired to make me a terrible NC member. HOWEVER. I am returned to you all, and here is an obnoxious post to make up for my absence. Hope you enjoy ^__^]

Oh no.

Horo Danshi had so far been content. His time in the class had not been very exhilarating, that was true: standing awkwardly by the rear of the room, mouth clamped shut, fighting back the sweat that poured from his nervous brow, he was more than happy to remain effectively out of the lesson’s bounds. If Gab-Gab wanted the Dipshit Kid’s sole classroom contribution to be as rear guard against some imagined assailant, that was perfectly fine with Horo Danshi, he would stand sentinel at the rear of the classroom all day and night if required. Only keep the chilluns eyes closed, came his brief prayers, for even as the students meditated the chuunin was reciting his own special form of meditation, exhaling his intentions (rather loudly, it must be admitted) into the classroom and the air above where perhaps they would find a/some/one of many merciful gods.

Then came the proctor’s request, and Horo Danshi remembered that no, there were no merciful gods. At least in the Kumo pantheon, they were all impossible, incorrigible ass hats of deities, and there was no joy to be had in them, but only uncomfortable mental awkwardness accompanied by the scent of incense and, if you were particularly lucky, not so much kneeling that it busted up one’s knees for future use.

“…wind release jutsu…”

Horo Danshi gulped silently as the previously-occupied eyes of the class all turned to gaze upon him. All eyes set in tiny faces with tiny features, people in miniature, not-shinobi/not-not-shinobi people who bore in each of them the seeds of many murders yet to come (they might be so lucky!), many people in many other worlds ended before their time. Still so much nature to alter! Still such misery to bestow upon the world!

Ooooooooooooh they were so adorable they were giving Horo Danshi kittens, but it wasn’t kittens he needed it was a THRICE-DAMNED WIND JUTSU—

For any ordinary shinobi, it would not be a difficult task. “Task.” It would be nothing short of a thought. But then, most shinobi did not share Horo Danshi’s pedigree. Most shinobi had graduated from this Academy-place, like legitimately graduated, as opposed to henge-no-jutsu’d-into-a-knocked-out-classmate-and-pass-exams-through-casual-subterfuge-cause-fk-fk-fk-da-police. There were entire books of books (bibliographies kids, breakfast of champions!) on chakra control that the Dipshit Kid had scorned to read the cover for, much less the contents. And so it was that for the life of him, a “wind release”, especially in front of a casually waiting crowd, was not merely a challenge – it was a downright tragic impossibility.

Sweating bullets before the classroom’s attentive occupants, Horo Danshi cracked a weak smile, twiddled his thumbs, considered his options. Welp, came the final conclusion. I guess there’s only one way out! And, with something almost approaching cheer, his hands went towards the kunai holster at his belt, ready to just go ahead and disembowel himself right then and there because this situation was just Horo-Horo ridonkulous.

…But the universe, ever-amenable to those of the Seikon heritage (though not very happily, no sir!), looked upon the situation, and with a shriek of truly impotent rage at the circumstances of its interference, sent reality itself to the rescue.

In the space directly between Danshi’s suicidal hand and his kunai holster, a seed of matter burst, all of a sudden, into a bloom of essential nothing. The fabric of space tore without a sound, but with great practical effect, as a gap micrometers wide opened in the untouchable stuff of the world. The shock of its invisible creation knocked the chuunin’s hand off of its arc as if it had been slapped violently aside and, its mission complete, repaired itself once again to complete normalcy. The breach had only been for the length, perhaps, of a full second, but that was all that was required to preserve Danshi, this most troublesome of subjects.

The breach had also, as a side effect of its very (non?)existence, caused a very certain side effect: for the brief period in which it had remained, a brutal suction had taken residence in the classroom, the air in the small space suddenly and desperately rushing to fill the reality-gap that had been manufactured by the Dipshit Kid’s kekkei genkai. The force was strong enough to be noticeable, to shock breath away from the nostrils of the unprepared, to pull pencils and papers and desk ornaments all throughout the room into disturbance and disarray.

Why. It was almost like a wind had blown through the classroom.

Horo Danshi paused, lowered his hand. He held the gaze of the class for a moment. And then:

”Hai, Gabu-samaaaaa!” he belted, snapping a crisp salute to the proctor at the front of the classroom and giving his best (read: worst, oh god, oh GOD) big grin.

Awwww yiss Horo, he thought meanwhile, eyes squinted shut in the excessive salute. Killed it like you always killed it, never lost faith, no Horo way no Horo how. Whatcha got next teach whatcha got NAH.

Horo Danshi unconsciously (for this is the way of the Seikon apparently, huehuehue) uses a variant of Destruction Pulse [Rank 3] to open a tiny void in the room that, by creating a suction, simulates the release of a wind jutsu. Whether or not any of you dear students have the wherewithal chakra/experience-wise to determine what actually happened here, well. That’s for you and your characters to decide :3

Also! I have been instructed by Rin to let you know that this post is the BEGINNING OF THE NEW ROUND. Everyone take your turns as you desire~

Re: Chakra Basics: Transhumanism in the Age of Science [Open

He did it; he really did it. The would-be failure actually completed the task of making something happen, and it strongly felt like a wind, so much so, that Shisou felt the air being pulled straight from his lungs, through his nostrils, towards the strange man. Overall, the feeling was very weird, Shisou did not like it one bit. Despite the more-than-mild discomfort he felt over the look of the man and how he displayed his talents in the last few moments, Shisou dropped his jaw and looked completely amazed at the spectacle that had just unfolded before him. The stories of shinobi were not widespread throughout Shisou’s house, and as such, he didn't know that such things were truly capable, but this man had proved that belief to be untrue. It was a pure enigma!

Shisou was dumbfounded by the apparent skill of the man, and the technique that had been displayed before him. However, Shisou never forgot his manners, and as such, he closed his mouth, his face changing to a picture of awe and respect. Silently, Shisou hoped that Tensai-sensei was going to teach them all how to do something that cool. Shisou knew he had never been able to use chakra or do any ninja techniques before, but he would not have been put into the academy if he did not possess the ability. Shisou wanted to learn, and he wanted to learn now. His heart sored, and his brain opened up; his mind preparing itself to absorb new information for later use.

Kaoru watched the man in aww, other than the apothecary she had never seen justsu being performed. She watched the man, he seemed slightly nervous. Suddenly she felt a blast of wind flow past her, it mad her hair fly in every direction possible. She was amazed by the amount of force the control of chakra can make. Kaoru was on the edge of her seat in anticipation of the coming lesson. She hoped deep down that one day that she could be that strong.

He was ready for the demonstration although he didn't expect the sudden burst of air, sucking in, towards Horo-sensei. It came as a mild surprise and left him breathless for a second until he could catch his breath again. His dreadlocks flew in a quick spurt of movement in towards Horo-sensei making his eyesight blinded for a second. It was an odd burst of air, unnatural according to Keiji's own thoughts about natural phenomenon. He didn't like it, he didn't like it one bit, it amazed him though, and excited him at the same. It was an odd and peculiar feeling.

Shortly after the demonstration Keiji raised his hand his lips perking forward as if wanting to speak, the words almost escaping his mouth.
Suddenly he blabbered out the words he wanted to ask without waiting for him to get the attention or permission to speak. "Yo sensei? If there are air release chakra techniques would there also be other elements as well?, I believe I read about lightning releases from the history books of Kumogakure." He had admittedly only skimmed the books, so he didn't know it by heart by any means he just have vivid memory of the words "Lightning" and "Technique" very closely affiliated with each other.

Tensai Gaburieru

The danger he had exposed everyone to only struck him after the words had come out of his mouth. Horrified at himself, Gaburieru stared at Horo with bated breath. As the moment stretched out, Gabu's heart rate decreased. Horo couldn't do it! They were safe! Saved by incompetence! Horo's hand twitched, spurring Gabu's heart back up into his throat.

I don't want to die in the Academy! I just became a Jounin! I haven't gone to that new bathhouse yet! A liquor store just opened down the street! This is too cruel!

As Gaburieru's life flashed before his eyes, the Seikon-sanctioned nutbag wrenched open a hole in space and time, letting the very void weep into the room along with an execrable shriek. The students, of course, were unphased, as none of them ever paid any attention. The Jounin, however, saw, and suffered.

He stared wide-eyed at Horo as loose paper whirled around the class. "Horo," he said calmly, "Just stand still for a second." He reached out with both hands as the rip re-sealed and linked his fingers loosely around the TA's neck. "Just a second, class." Then he began to squeeze.

Kaoru was still amazed at the sight of the tecnique, she looked over to Gaburieru Sensei. What she saw was an extremely alarmed man, it baffled Kaoru What in the world? She thought, Kaoru had seen nothing amiss in the classroom so what could have spooked the sensei. The following events only confused her more. Gaburieru sensei had gotten up from his, he walked over to Horo san, adn began to choke him. Kaoru could not believe what she was seeing. She stood up quickly and turned in the direction of the two men"Sen - Sensei!" Kaoru blurted it out without thinking. Placing her hands over her mouth and tears coming from her eyes, Kaoru stood there not knowing what to do in such a situation.

[OOC: SORRY ALL. I actually did not realize that it was my place in the post order -- mental disconnect, despite Rin's bugging. My humblest apologies. Now. FORWARD!]

Horo Danshi smiled broadly at the members of the classroom who stared upon him now. Aww the little tykes, he thought to himself, the little shrimpicles. Man maybe they're not so terrifying after all maybe I have misjudged them.

Oh? But what was this? Gabu-sama was making his own way up to the Dipshit Kid, no doubt to offer his congratulations. A job well done, Horo Danshi. A job well done indeed! No more threats, no more lawsuits, just Horo Horo harmony. The chuunin extended his miraculous hand to be accepted into Gaburieru's own warm paws.

He instead found himself shaking with air, as the sensei's own hands closed around Horo Danshi's neck and, methodically, began to tighten their grip. For the slightest of instants, the Dipshit Kid's preservation instinct kicked in, and he was a single fired synapse away from breaking the hold and tossing its owner clean through the nearest window when the other, more dominant part of the shinobi's brain made itself felt, and that urge went away entirely. Horo Horo harmony, remember? It was unthinkable that Gabu-sama could mean any harm. Had he not just accomplished the task set out for him? Was the blonde teacher not telling him, trusting him, to "stand still" while he accomplished this totally overt, aggressive action? That the thing was a legitimate deed of murderous intent was simply unthinkable.

As the air was slowly cut off from his lungs, Horo Danshi began to ponder the true meaning of the present situation. A vague inkling from his own academy days returned to him, a brief snippet of memory:

"HORO DANSHI YOU GET OUT OF THAT PASTE RIGHT NOW YOU HEAR M--"

Oh, hmm, nope. But - ah!

"Ninjutsu exist, for the most part, in a perfectly conserved universe. This means that, for every technique, such as a release, there is a counter technique, for instance, a seal. The process of completing both actions differ greatly, but in order for you to fully master the art of ninjutsu, you must be prepared to navigate the complexities of these distinctions, accurately controlling the chakra flow of your body in such a way that MISTER DANSHI, WHY IS STUDENT REI-REI'S HAIR IN YOUR MOUTH-"

The present situation reasserted itself, and Horo Danshi smiled, even as, breathless, the blue began to tinge the bridges of his cheeks.

With his still-free hands, the chuunin formed a quick series of seals, and in an instant and a puff of smoke, another Horo Danshi had appeared thanks to the most basic of techniques, the Clone jutsu. But rather than reach out to help its creator, the second Horo Danshi turned to the rest of the class, raising a finger for attention.

"As you see kids!" gulped the clone. "Gabu-sensei is trying to show you the other half of the release technique, now! As you have seen wind release, now you are being shown wind sealing~!. By holding his hands around my throat, Gabu-sama is helping me to create a sufficient wind seal, and thus, focus my chakra! Don't worry, it's all perfectly harmless. It's tough! And that's why your sensei is being such a good instructor as to help me, right right!"

The clone turned, and beamed to where the true Horo Danshi was beginning to get a mite purple in his coloration. "How we doing, Horo?~"

The choking man was obviously unable to say anything, but did manage a thumbs up to the clone, as well as the rest of the class. "Good yes!" said the second Horo Danshi.

Finally, the clone turned back to the rest of the onlookers, fixing them with what he thought was a kind, understanding smile (PROTIP: it really wasn't). "Now it's time for you all to try the wind sealing technique. Partner up, and give it a shot -- don't be shy now. Remember, it's a hard technique to learn, so you've got to really give it all you've got. You and your partners too!"

The clone began to stalk the classroom, nodding appreciatively at those students who complied, intending to ensure that every student was paired and ready to begin their "exercise" presently. From where he was beginning to lose vision in his peripheries, the real Horo Danshi continued to suffer oxygen deprivation, and inwardly felt the warm rose of glee rise within him. Twas really no wonder they had him working at the Academy. Heck. Was a wonder they didn't have him here more often!

Kaoru did not know what to make of the present situation. She sees Gaburieru sensei strangling Horo san, and Horo san seems completely calm, as if this was part of the lesson. Does this guy have a death wish or something! she thought, but before she can even calculate whats going on there is a puff of smoke and a clone of the now purple Horo san appears. The clones says something about a "wind sealing" tecnique and how we were to partner up and start choking each other out. This is nonsense! the thought repeated itself over and over again in Kaoru's head. Kaoru finally decided enough was enough, she said to Horo san and in a firm voice " Horo san, I think you might want to stop this "Wind Sealing" tecnique. You're beginning to turn blue". She hoped that her statement had not disrespected the chunnin, but the thought of him collapsing overtook her morals. Kaoru looked around the room to her fellow students in the hope that they would aid her in her attempt to stop the disturbance within the lesson.

Tensai Gaburieru

As if Kaoru's words had broken a spell, Gaburieru realized he was standing in front of a room full of children, strangling the hell out of an insane drunkard.

Now who is the insane one? a voice tittered in his mind. "No, no," Gaburieru said calmly, "That's all wrong. How did you ever graduate from the Academy, Horo-sensei?" The last was joking, obviously. His tetanal grip on the TA's throat loosened and then released. He brushed some invisible dust off of the Chuunin's shoulder and faced the class.

"Please do partner up, everyone. We will practice. While you choose a partner, I will explain a bit about elements and release techniques, like Keiji-kun asked.

"The five element theory, gogyo, serves as the foundation of our teachings. Those elements are wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. The order in which I just named them is the order of generating." He flashed a few seals and upon the board appeared the following illustration.

220px-Wuxing_en.svg.png

"There is also the order of mutual overcoming. This is wood, earth, water, fire, and metal. But we will start with the pattern of generation, rather than antagonism, because it is safer.

"Now, of course, we know of more elements--even more basic elements, and more complex elements. The basic pattern of elements we will use in this class is earth, water, wind, lightning, and fire, closing with earth once more to ground you. Everyone has a particular affinity, which you will learn with time and practice. You will not be able to generate all forms of elemental activity to start with. The element that you have an affinity for will be the easiest for you to create; that element's antagonist will be the most difficult.

"The use of elemental jutsu is called nature manipulation. The most basic techniques and the foundation for all elemental ninjutsu are releases. We might try that today, depending on how you all do." A brisk wind carried a small square of paper to each student's desk.

"Now. Focus you chakra as you did before, and bend your attention to changing that paper." Each student had seen this piece of paper when going through selection to attend the academy... Back then, very little had happened to the little scrap. Today had the potential for everyone to see into his or her own future.
OOC said:
Ninpocho has an Elemental Affinity system. As students, you get to select a free element. Now is a good time to start thinking about what you want to do--and this is an IC way of justifying your choice! If you want to RP it out, the following will happen when your character focuses on the paper, depending on the element you've chosen:

Fire: the paper will burn away.
Wind: the paper will split in two.
Lightning: the paper will wrinkle.
Earth: the paper will turn to dust.
Water: the paper will become wet.

Kaoru let out a sigh of relief as the sensei let go of Horo san's throat, but she still felt that her words really didn't have any affect. She sat back down looking at her notebook, pencil in hand Kaoru quickly sketching the small diagram and jotting down the remaining notes. She got back up from her seat, scannin the room for any available partners. The room was swarming with people finding eachother and meeting at one another's desk. Kaoru didn't feel very comfortable having to go up and ask people to be her partner. I will just bother them. she thought. While she stood there, Gaburieru Sensei seemed make paper fly to the student's desk. She followed the sensei directions and placed the paper ontop of her palms, Kaoru took a deep breat and closed her eyes, focusing the chakra to the paper. She heard a ripping sound. When se opened her eyes the paper was cut completely in half.

Ever been a small child that sat in a class and just stopped taking notes because it seemed pointless. Mostly because the notes would just be a bunch of scribbles that you wouldn't understand when you looked at them again. Well that's what Eji felt like at this given moment. The small shinobi-to-be no longer cared about the ethereal beings anymore even to the point that they even just vanished as anxiety of learning this amount of information became overwhelming. Forcing himself to take notes quickly, the small boy scrawled something really quick as a small piece of paper flew over to him. Instinctively, the small boy grabbed the small piece of paper out of mid air and watched as it turned to dust.

Keiji gulped to himself. That ought to hurt.. Like hell.. Gabu-sensei's hand squeezing the throat of Horo-sensei. Turning slightly purple. Keiji merely stayed quiet and tried to ignore whatever was going on. Horo tried to calm the situation down by apparently cloning himself with a jutsu of some kind. But Keiji merely ignored Horo and simply looked to the side and out of the window with a flighting gaze. The wind was blowing, and his thoughts carried on to his little brother. Hopefully Jin was sitting outside like a good little brother, waiting for class to be finished. Suddenly as if penetrating through a fog of random flighting thoughts a few words from Gabu sensei was heard "The five element theory.." Keiji blinked for a second until he realized things had relatively returned to normal again. He scribbled in his notebook notes and drawings of what Gabu-sensei spoke of next. The papers flew to each table and one landed on his, A piece of paper?, what can this do? he questioned his own judgement of appearance for a second as he picked it up, as Gabu-sensei instructed he concentrated his chakra on to the paper, and as he did so the paper began to wrinkle, the entire paper almost crumbled into a ball. Keiji analyzed the paper for a minute, looking under it, around it. It puzzled him how it moved like it did on it's own. He put it down on the table again, and then returned to scribbling in his notebook.

Tensai Gaburieru

If Gaburieru ever turned into a crazed hunter of men, it would be Horo Danshi who was to blame. The courier radiated banked killing intent at the man without even looking at him or his clone. Instead, the teacher smiled with seeming joy at the class as three of the students managed to manipulate the chakra testing paper on the first go.

"Wonderful!" he enthused, clapping his hands. "Excellent! Let's see your results." He walked through the rows, looking on at each student's scrap of paper and committing their dispositions to memory for his report at the end of class. The trio with the best outcomes were especially notable. "Kaoru-chan, this indicates a wind affinity. It's an excellent element to start from, especially in the mountains of Lightning Country! You will be able to command a battlefield like few others." He patted her gently on the head before moving on.

One of the boys had managed to completely wad up his paper. "Keiji-kun, delightful! A lightning affinity means you might be another member of Hidden Cloud's most storied bloodline, the Santaru! If your clan or family has hidden lore about such a tie, you are very fortunate indeed."

A sprinkling of dust was all that remained for the last outstanding participant. "Ah, earth affinity! Such shinobi are true fortresses among men, Eji-kun. With training, you may become as immovable a force as Kaoru may be irresistible!" Gaburieru's eyes twinkled.

"Each of you try to summon a manifestation of the chakra you just exhibited. You will try to do the release--though a small one only! No one needs to feel pressured to create a big show of things. At best it's a mess, at worse, you might endanger everyone. So be cautious!

"Fire release, katon, is strong versus wind yet weak to water. Wind release, fuuton, is strong against lightning but vulnerable to fire. Lightning release, raiton, is strong to earth but weak to wind. Earth release, doton, is strong to water yet weak to lightning. Water release, suiton, overcomes fire yet falls to earth. This is the basis for all patterns of the elemental forces, about which you will learn more in other courses and your independent studies. Not coincidentally, each element is also the name of a nation--the Great Four, Fire, Wind, Lightning, and Water. Of Earth Country, you may learn in histories..." He raised an eyebrow.

"Now look and remember these handseals, which you use to focus your elemental release technique..." He demonstrated each of the seals and taught them the name of the zodiac sign associated with the seals.

Re: Chakra Basics: Transhumanism in the Age of Science [Open

Keiji looked confused at the piece of paper in front of him after Gabu-sensei had described the meaning behind it. Lightning? As in, THE Lightning? He leaned forward above the paper as he stared at the paper intensely. This means.. I'm Lightning? As troubling as it might seem a defining characteristic point which become one of the key defining points of his entire life was just revealed to him. And as unsurprising as anyone might think it, this fact never were to dawn for him, at least not yet.

As Gabu-sensei went on, and talked about the strengths and weaknesses of the different elements, Keiji merely reflected and kept pondering on what this revelation of his element might mean, will he be able to throw lightning bolts? will he be able to become faster? is he able to become more precise? he couldn't decide on what sounded coolest. His attention shifted as Gabu-sensei showed the different hand seals and informed of their names. He scribbled notes, and made doodles resembling the hand placements. And then after he practiced them shortly, making sure not to use any chakra as he did so. He looked up after practicing, and raised his hand. "Sensei, what of actual techniques? Are you gonna show us any? And can we find techniques in the library? And if so.." He paused for a second, and looked at Gabu-sensei with a very interested look. "What section?" This was the actual core of his questions, he just wanted to be able to go over to the Library, pick up a book and find some awesome techniques he could practice on his own, he tended to prefer it that way. No one to get in his way, even if it tended to be the most dangerous when not able to control chakra properly.

The sensei seemed very pleased in the progress of the class. He came over to Kaoru and saif that she had a wind affinity. Her face formed a light blush as he pat her on the head. He also said that the wind affinity was very useful in the mountainous terrain of Lightning Country. I can bee helpful to the village Kaoru smiled at the idea. After congratulating Keiji san and Eji san on their affinities, Gaburieru sensei explained the strengths and weaknesses of the elements. He then performed a multitude of hand signs and their zodiac names. Kaoru quickly wrote all of her notes and her best drawing of the handseals. Yet her hand drawings looked more like fighting worms. Keiji kun raised his hand and barraded the sensei with a flury of questons. Kaoru listened intently for the sensei's answer, because all of Keiji san's questons seemed to be just the kind of information she would need in the future

Tensai Gaburieru

"Why, Keiji-kun, what I just showed you are the bases for all elemental techniques," Gaburieru replied. "A basic lightning release works like this..." He demonstrated, closing his handseals with a clap to focus his energy. Lightning was not his strongest affinity, but as a Jounin, he had a certain basic level of proficiency with each fundamental type of nature manipulation. A white-violet orb coalesced in his hands with a crack of thunder, sparking and raising the faint smell of ozone. He dismissed the lightning energy and grounded it away by ending with the snake seal.

"Consider your first formal assignment to be researching an E-rank elemental release which corresponds to your elemental affinity. You can find these basic techniques at the village library. As students, you are permitted to view scrolls which contain teachings for E-rank techniques for ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu. The librarians know where these materials are, and know who is entitled to view them. All you need to do is ask--they are happy to help!

"Those of you born into ninja families may also be initiated into clan teachings at this time. Each of you has the potential to become a great force for our village and country--but mastering yourselves and releasing that potential is up to you. The village can only give you a place in which to grow and a structure to pace yourselves within."

He glanced at the clock on the back wall. A surprisingly great amount of time had passed. "Well, I have kept you here long enough today. As a teacher, I am available for tutoring sessions. You only need to ask, or send a message to the courier corps HQ. I believe the next course I will be teaching is another basic survivalism class... Though I might be teaching a more advanced chakra theory class. Please practice until we meet again." He bowed slightly.

Horo had remained blessedly silent. The man would not be leaving this room unscathed...
