Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The clash while quick and decisive to a stalemate, had lent the opponent time to make a quick and effective assault. The explosions riddled the skies, sending shock-waves that cracked through the air, reverberating through nearby alleys, against the buildings, and causing glass to shatter nearby. Truly asserting just how violent the explosion could have been.

Thankfully, Doi found himself out of harms reach; if only barely. As the dust particles fluttered through the now eerily calm air, the man had drawn a kunai in preparation for Doi; it was either the Genin was felled by the explosion and would need medical attention; or he would be resorted to defending himself.
This served both as a logical plan, but too resounded as a mistake as in a hairs moment; lightning shattered through the pluming smoke of ash and dust. And crashed directly into the man's kunai, having acted like a lightning rod- and arced through his body with a sickening sizzle of smoke. Burning flesh filled the air for only a moment.

The man wasn't dead, nor was he unconscious; but certainly disabled at face-value. The question was, what would Doi do next? With the opponent having fallen to his knees recovering.

Doi triumphantly strolled over to the kneeling form of his defeated opponent. It appeared they wouldn't be posing much of a threat anymore; the teen had successfully won the exchange. Doi had used up a lot of chakra through his continual use of high-level ninjutsu up until this point. Despite this, he still felt as if he had just enough left to conquer the rest of the exam. 'I wonder how much time I've wasted on this part alone,' Doi thought to himself. 'I've got to keep it moving.'

Doi gave his defeated opponent a final cursory glance before running off. The teen chose to take the right path upon being presented with both options.

In the moment of victory, it appeared Doi had opted to gloss over the conscious but defeated opponent with a simple glance; he felt someone had been watching during the interaction.

Nevertheless the young Genin had continued forth with a conviction of ambition that drove him forwards. Through the impressive speeds boasted by the youth, he had chosen to take the path to the right. Some minutes passed as he closed the distance from the last area of confrontation to what he could glean as the seemingly final stage.

How did he come to this conclusion? He was faced with a pit, one that had layered concentrically; with each layer having small patches of trees, bush and various miscellany as foliage. Some of which had possession of housing, or at the very least; structures that could either have been designated as outposts, or living accommodations. One would have to investigate to decide this.
However, the selling of that he was on the right path was at the very bottom of this pit was what appeared to be a rather blatant sign of his goal. Which was a crate sized about four feet wide, by eight feet long. And written across it on all sides was large military fonted letters that spelled [WEAPONS] now that he had a general layout, and the goal in sight. He was left to his devices, he knew that was the target.

But despite his sighting of the cache, he couldn't make out any guards. Or for that matter, anyone at all.

The examination's ultimate goal was in sight, yet the area before Doi appeared to be void of life. A sharp departure from the previous exam faze where there where visible enemies all over the place. This made Doi highly cautious of diving in head first. The teen shinobi scanned the pit before him, noting the long way down to the weapon cache from his position at the top of the pit. He was certainly no strategist, but an empty area like this was sure to have a high likelihood of traps; and potentially lots of them.

After all, there were a variety of motion sensitive traps that existed in the shinobi world. Doi did not plan on taking any chances. He kicked a nearby stone down and into the pit, jolting it with just enough force to ensure it would fall straight to the bottom with little interference.

Doi carefully scrutinized the stone as it rapidly descended into the abyss.

If any traps were triggered, Doi would be a lot more careful making his way down.

As Doi watched the stone descend through the pit; bouncing and rumbling through the soil, gravel and mixtures of varied top-layers of earthen material. While anticipating something spectacular, whether it would be a trap or otherwise- was met with a rather anti-climatic 'clunk' at the bottom of the pit. Having traversed the whole distance without any interference from man-made or otherwise obstructions.

However, at the corner of his eye, he did notice that in the distance someways across the pit; a thicket of trees had been disturbed. With a small flock of birds rustling and fluttering away from the area. Although, even with focusing on the spot- he would not notice anything, or anyone within' the bushes.

Beyond that, the pit remained undisturbed. With the path downwards not going anywhere fast.

Doi carefully watched on as the stone he kicked fell into the pit. Eventually coming into contact with the bottom. At first glance, it appeared no traps where triggered during the stone’s descent. Not that he was surprised, though. It was just was a small precautionary measure.

“No traps, huh?” Doi let forth a sigh before searching the area around him with heavy scrutiny. He highly doubted there wouldn’t be someone around watching him. As a matter of fact… where was his proctor? Was he hiding? Letting these thoughts linger for a moment, Doi noted that nothing as out of the regular in the surrounding area. Nothing but some trees and other greenery that swayed in the breeze ever so slightly. “Ok,” Doi said to himself before briefly surveying the pit once again. Upon confirming the coast was clear for the second and final time, the teen shinobi leapt from his spot at the opening and into the pit; rapidly descending feet first.

The teen shinobi’s white hair fiercely thrashed around as he ventured deeper into the pit. At about the halfway point, Doi used a small wind jutsu to slow his descent and propel himself towards the nearest level. His landing spot was a small patch of earth on the edge of this particular level. Dirt kicked up a bit at the point where his feet made contact. From then on, Doi would leap from level to level until reaching the bottom unless interrupted by an outside force. His goal was within his grasp.

As all things that follow the suit of calm before the storm there will always be the inevitable storm part. A concept, Doi as a dedicated and skilled lightning user; was plenty aware of. With this due concept in mind; Doi was met with a rather predictable surprise as he descended freely down towards the pit.

While predictable, perhaps wholly and incredibly fast for most even shinobi to react to. "Think fast." And in that blurred moment, an air of stillness followed with a shockwave of force behind Homura's fist; mid-air he thrusted forth. While not making direct impact, the Genin was met with a wave of compressed force; rocketing him backwards into the earthen-walls of the pit. Once he recovered, Doi would see Homura standing on the level of the pit he was launched to the wall of. Arms crossed, and observing him.

Although he didn't say anything; it seemed the man was evaluating the Genin. The goal was still the same, but now an obstacle of greater proportion was put in place. How would Doi react? What will he do?

Doi was completely taken aback by the strong force that slammed into his abdomen and sent him flying towards one of the pit’s walls. The likelihood of being attacked came across his mind, but in the end he’d been far too careless. Now put in a less than favorable position as a result of his oversight.

Slight disorientation was the best way to describe how Doi currently felt. He had managed to pull himself out from the indentation his body had made in the wall shortly after impact. Upon regaining his senses, the teen shinobi was welcomed by the sight of his exam proctor standing before him cross armed. The man was undoubtedly the source behind the sudden hit. One could certainly vouch for the man being as strong as he looked.

“Man… you’ve sure got the strength to back up the way you carry yourself,” Doi said; concealing his right hand behind his body all the while. This hidden hand would discreetly perform a small series of hand seals. Chances were that Homura would pick up on these unobtrusive gestures — as the aptitude of a high-level shinobi would lead one to believe — but he would rather take his chances.

The earth of the level they were on rippled about as a wave of stone and gravel rose from beneath their feet and towards Homura; intent on crushing the man under the pressure of the debris if he were inattentive.

Earth Flow Wave

If the ambush like attack here to miss under whatever circumstance, Doi would follow up with a simple bolt of lightning.

As the man halted himself some distance from Doi; he had his armed crossed and kept a quiet tongue, observing how the Genin chose to react after such a sudden and routing attack. His facial expression didn't let off too much of his expectations, but it was clear each movement was being gauged, there must have been an ulterior motive behind this sudden engagement.

And the man let off an air that urged the young Genin to consider everything. That's when the young man had wove a series of well developed; and to a degree advanced seals for someone his age. Letting a wave of energy from earth, stone and spikes to erupt from underneath and scored across the landscape, causing a buffeting updraft of dust and debris; in the blur of the assault; the man had vanished from sight- and with an unruly speed had reappeared next to Doi. And with a swift grip; he had planted his hand agains the boy's torso. And began a full sprint; dragging him through the earth wall of the pit. And for several meters, until an electrical shock flowed through his muscles and caused him to lose grip.

After a reacted vault off the wall; Homura once more stood vanguard several meters away, further into the pit. As if acting as a barrier, without forcing too much aggression; but not budging either.

‘He’s too fast…’

Doi shook his head to get rid of all the dirt it had accumulated as Homura dragged him along the pit wall. The teen was getting man-handled, to put it bluntly. The maneuver ruffed Doi up a bit. It certainly wasn’t a pleasant experience, but it did serve to accentuate the power gap between them both. Homura’s Jounin level strength and experience combined to make a vicious combo. A combo Doi would be wise to avoid confronting in an upfront face to face battle. He’d have to use clever tactics to get passed this one.

The Chuunin hopeful needed a way out to get past his proctor and make way for the goal; or otherwise immobilize him to make things easier. Doi summoned a single clone before sending it towards his proctor. As the clone engaged Homura, the Chuunin hopeful would speed through another set of hand seals for a follow up jutsu.

The real Doi clapped his hands together and separated them afterwards, revealing a rapidly glowing ball of bright electrons between his hands. Cupping his twp palms outward, Doi released a bright beam of electricity in Homura’s direction.

Once he let the technique off, Doi tried to run past Homura; hoping the clone and the incoming attack would keep the proctor occupied enough to get past him.

Alas while awaiting Doi's next force of momentum shifting; his arms remained crossed and seemingly unprepared, or perhaps simply confident.
Nevertheless, the man watched as Doi had clouded himself in a plume of smoke that cascaded along the pit wall. Of course, this was all a result of the conjuration of the clone to not only distract Homura, but provide as a combatant for a time; granting Doi adequate vantage to weave himself a series of seals. Upon the clone having closed the distance, and beginning an assault befitting of a young aspiring Journeyman; with a clashing of hands, feet and marveling acrobatics between the two; it became apparent with some seconds passing that Homura had been careful not to injure the target too much, whether he was aware it was a clone or not remained up to debate.

What came next through the manifestation of a globe of electrical energy barreled through the air in a blur of speed that resembled it's fundamental core of lightning. Through the efforts of staving off the young man's clone with parries, blocks and the occasional side-step; he was met with a narrow collision of the lightning ball. It had impacted against his forearm, with a deflecting motion it had caused enough friction between his person and the elemental manifestation.

Through the efforts of his combination; another surge of muscle tensing electricity had warped into his system and caused slight spasmic motions that were generally masked through disciplined efforts. However, this granted the clone momentum to cause a strike through a arcing side-kick to send the Jounin stumbling across the dirt a number of feet.

Through this, granting the Genin some precious moments to make count. What was he going to do?

Doi's clone managed to momentarily hold off Homura, yet his Gigavolt Cannon seemed to have done a very minuscule amount of damage to the man - at least to the naked eye. The real Doi took the chance his clone provided and used it swiftly jump down towards the ‘weapon cache’, his exam goal. He was a surprised by how effective his clone and jutsu combo had been, but at least it provided him with the precious seconds he needed to get by.

The levels of the pit flew passed the airborne Doi as he ventured downward. He doubted that Homura wasn’t already back on his trail again, but kept going anyway - the more ground he could manage to cover the better.

Doi prepared to let off another Gigavolt Cannon - this time intent on using it on the ‘weapon cache’ in the hopes of destroying it once and for all.

After the initial shock of the hook kick had impacted the Jōnin he had for all intents and purposes, recovered at an incredible rate; to be expected. In that fraction of a moment, he had closed the distance to the clone and sent an absolute strike; fixated on the abdomen of the creation- Causing a shockwave to form behind it just as it erupted from the pressure it had received.

In those moments of engagement, Doi had ceased the opportunity and with the amplification benefits of his storm connection was able to traverse some significant distances and unleashed and elemental storm of energy with the trajectory on a destructive path towards the cache. During this Homura had stopped and observed from the pit level he was residing; without movement or intent to halt the assault.
As the dust upheaved from the static discharge from the jutsu, the young Genin was witnessing the finale of a challenging and tumultous test of wit, power and an underlying gauge to see his testament to cunning and skill. In a moment of triumph, the electrical strike impacted with an audible 'CRACK!' as the metallic crates dented inwards for only a moment afore a subsequent explosion littered the whole of the pit's stomach. Shards of metal, dust and debris flickered across the dirt causing more plumes of dirt and dust to pilfer upwards into the air.

As things settled a few seconds of silent triumph. Homura had appeared next to Doi by usage of the body-flicker technique, with his arms crossed; eyes settled at the bottom of the pit observing the final result along with the young boy. "Task completed; and with good use of your skill-set and decision making." The man spoke briefly at first, allowing the words to settle for a moment along with the sifting cloud of dust below. "You were making valid choices from our observations. You acted with the intent to try and supersede the gap in power with the best of your ability; even if it had the room for failure. It's a hard decision to make." He then looked to Doi, and patted the boy's shoulder. "We aim to gauge on the level of a Chunin, against odds that were above them. If it were a coincidence it worked in your favor, but you appeared to realize compromising is sometimes the only option. -- Nevertheless we will take the results of our grading and bring them together to make an official decision. In the meantime, you can consider your exam concluded; you should receive word in a day or two. Get some rest."
After the words of conclusion, the last visuals of the man vanished in a blur of high-speed movement. Leaving the young Genin; and prospective Chūnin alone with his thoughts.
