Shouyu found himself outside of the village gates again. Last time he was here it was the thunder plains where he tested his reaction ability failed miserably. But even then, he had a small glimmer of hope to find ‘something’. The young, newly graduated Genin felt a cold breeze brush up against the bare parts of skin showing through his chosen attire today. He was in the heartland of Kaminiri no Kuni. It was a vast grass land, from his distance he could already see many different animals and vegetation for miles! But he chose to ignore these, and look for a perch, and very flat surface.
His black ninja sandals that let his toes breathe were getting tickles by the tall the grass with every step the Genin took deeper into the pasture. Almost every ten seconds or so, a small breath of wind would blow past him, flapping his long loose ponytail in the wind. He walked with a squint in his eyes protecting his precious Hyuuga hues from everything in the wind that stirred up with each step and breeze. He inhaled, enjoying the fresh crispness of this industrialized air, and it felt so good in his lungs.
Eventually, away from the deeper parts of the plains and grazing animals Shouyu found a six foot tall perch, with a rather pointy top. He examined this perch form the base to its pinnacle with a nod, rubbing his bare chin with his left hand index finger and thumb. Once satisfied with his thoughts of the perch, he took note, and moved along to find a platform, maybe a tablet of stone or some sort. Just a few feet away he found a large chunk of bark, that seemed big enough for what he needed, he kneeled down almost disappearing in the tall grass taking the bark within his clutches.
As he rose the bark was bigger than he thought, probably marred off by some giant beast looking for nourishment from the land. Shouyu began to walk back to the perch and stood beside it, eyeing its highest point once more. With one leap he jumped clean over the tip, swiftly but gently placed the bark flat beneath his bottom as he prepared himself to sit. He channeled chakra into his fingertips holding the board to keep it steady on the pinnacle of the perch so as he were to sit down it wouldn’t fall unbalanced.
It worked just perfectly, he was now sitting cross legged on the boarded platform, slowly releasing his grip from the board. His movements were precise, slow and steady as both his hand finally met each other, palm to palm with interlocking fingers and extended indexes and thumbs laying symmetrically together. It was a tiger hand seal and as soon as he performed this his chakras began to surge through his body wildly but still in very much control. He was practicing utter stillness in a moving environment which would prove difficult to most, but at the moment the Genin would make it look all too easy.
