Deep in the recesses of the Northen Wind Country mountain range lays an ancient ruin lost to humanity by some three-thousand years. Trekking to the ruin in the first place was a worthy challenge of even the most seasoned mountain climber as the mighty pillars of earth that surrounded the ancient civilization held unique dangers such as hollow walls and crags that are shelter to some of Wind’s most venomous giant arachnids. Beyond those earthy walls and below the sheltered ruins lays a catacomb of tunnels that crisscross and drive off into endless directions below the mountains and a great deal of the desert itself. Borrowed long ago by the now extinct sandworms, these tunnels are the cause of the mountain hollow spots and some of the ruin collapse above.
It’s also where Otami and her mother lived for years.
That is what drew her father her first. In a way to recollect the way his daughter survived the desert, the scientist long ago followed out the paths Okibi had marked out for him on a map. Why he did it was just as much a mystery to anyone as it was even to himself, but he had been compelled to make the same journey his daughter had made; all the way up to the sandworm caverns. Upon discovering them, Tama realized what his subconcious had been seeking all along. The girth of the tunnels and natural supports the mountain offered made him realize how simple it would be to create his ultimate secret lair. One he could retreat to and not be so easily breeched. Even those who could travel by air would be forced to go around the mountain range as wild storms were known to from in and around the mountains for seemingly no reason; a concern Tama would look into eventually.
