The desert sands are unforgiving, especially in Wind Country. Even during winter, the weather can be a bit extreme. In this case, it was very cold compared to the hot sun that punishes any who try and cross unprepared.
Still, his journey home was almost complete. Just a few more hundred miles and he was back home at Sunagakure. He was still travelling with the merchant caravan that came from Kumo, trying to gather as much information as he could from the year he was..."missing".
'Soon...' he thought, as they trudged along a sandy hill. He kept pace with the caravan, using Chakra on his feet to keep a grip on the moving sands. He hadn't mentioned his shinobi status to the caravan, it usually raises suspicion amongst travellers and makes it...awkward to travel.
So he told them he was an aspiring culinarian, hoping to bring the rich tastes of venison to the spices and curry world of Sunagakure. He was telling the truth, he did have some really good deer burgers during his time in Kumo.
He did keep watch during his journey, bandit attacks in the desert were still a thing but once they got an hour reach of the city, no bandit would dare touch any caravan unless they didn't fear certain death.
'Soon...' He repeated out loud, as he could see the gates just on the horizon; beckoning for entry.
