Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Perched upon the top of the gates they watch, scanning the distant horizon for the unknown and all the while the villagers below attending to the work required for the student tournament. Early as it may be, the sun slipping past the horizon, work had to be done at all oddball hours and the village halts for none. “Captain Kano, the volunteers to aid clearing the fields are soon to arrive.” a faceless figure reports, “Excellent, let us hope they work swiftly to beat the heat of the day. The last bunch passed out from heat stroke and ended up delaying the work tenfold.” he comments gruffly, adjusting the eyewear settling on the bridge of his nose.

A momentary reprieve, “Captain, that won’t happen this time?” another faceless shinobi calls from behind the cloaked superior, “Hmm? Why is that?” he inquires, turning about to face the guards upon the wall, “Because it’s Autumn, sir.” A fit of coughing would ensue, the Aburame falling upon knee, waving off the panicking underlings, "I am fine, not to worry!” he laughs hardily, masking his mistake and embarrassment.

Deguichi Shinzo and Minamoto Suyashi would be notified to meet with the captain on top of the Phoenix Gates, not that the man was difficult to spot with his oddball color attire. The zephyrs frolic across the landscape, the grassland rustling about as if it were alive. Little did the shinobi to be realize, nor the captain for the matter, a different day would await them! For the meantime, however, directly to the left of the shinobi were two sets of tools consisting of a hoe and shovel for the lads to utilize to plow the land. This particular section in front of the gate held rich soil, to plant prior to winter was ideal for when spring arrived, the crop hopefully plentiful.

The wooden door of a quaint house slid open and the figure of Shinzo stumbled out, in one hand was his breakfast that was cradled under his armpit while the other hand yanked up his right sandal, so it sat on his foot comfortably. Konoha again experienced a small blur of a child racing through the streets at this early hour of the morning. To the trained eye, this figure could be seen to be clutching a bowel of warmed oats and milk. To the even more trained eye it would be evident that he was not enjoying it. Shinzo dropped his bowel onto an empty market stall in disgust, this was not the breakfast he wanted, but nevertheless he carried on towards the gate. It loomed ahead of him towards the end of the road he was currently looking down. ‘Another mission! How lucky am I!’ The boy thought to himself as he sprinted towards the gate, he hadn’t met captain Kano before nor a member of the Aburame clan and despite having read about them he didn’t fully understand what their secret techniques really did.

As the gate grew closer, Shinzo took a few moments to flank the structure, aiming to climb up some stairs slightly further away. He dodged passed a few shinobi as they walked down from the walls to come off duty for the morning after spending the night on watch, and soon he reached the top. There was a little distance between himself and the group surrounding the clearly senior ninja, his colour scheme did seem a bit… interesting but the young student was not one to judge based on fashion style. Soon he arrived, skidding to a halt just before the group and giving a small bow in respect.

“Deguchi Shinzo reporting!” He chirped, full of energy despite having sprinted most of the way there. “How can I help?” He said, trying not to stare at the now kneeling shinobi, in truth he wasn’t quite sure how to react but decided to let things play out for now. It took a few seconds, but Shinzo could not hold back from questioning any longer. “Are you alright?” He asked while moving his hands to rest behind his head, partially in an attempt to relax and partially to conceal the slight awkwardness he was feeling at the apparent disposition of who he assumed to be the captain. Soon though he moved to offer a hand to assist him to stand, if he were fast enough to make that offer that was.

Gargling sounds, heard from the cornerstones of the minimalist apartment seemed to chime throughout the walls reverberating softly. Sushi could be seen brushing his teeth early in the morning, he was serious today. It was a chance to do something more complicated than he'd done previously. It was definitely going to be a fun evolution of himself. He could literally feel the efforts of his training paying themselves off bit by bit. He'd mastered some of his techniques, he'd become better with his projectiles, and above all he was feeling a sense of honor. Honor that he took from the training he'd done with Sho just weeks removed from today. He'd cooled himself down since then; taking to books and scrolls learning all he could as he finished his sign up sheet for the student tournament and he'd finally heard he would be in the tournament. Kouza would be there too... One of, if not his greatest challenge in life. It didnt bother him, but it did cause him to begin taking himself a bit more seriously. Though, he could never shake the flashy, oddball nature that he seemed to have. He got it from his father, and maybe he got some other things from the old man... who knew.

At least he had gotten out of bed on time this morning, other times in the past he was the last one to arrive. However, since making it to Konoha, he'd laid everything out on the preverbial table knowing that in order to be taken serious he would have to cut the games. The Honey Maned boy was only as good as his word, and what good would it do if he had lied to himself. So this like most days would begin to surmise thought smaller more mineut thoughts. As the tournament seemed to be on the horizons, so did his chances of becoming a recognized official within this country. The village officials would all need to become more and more aware of not only his iminent greatness but the work that was being placed on the backs of this village's newest work force. They would have to put in tons more time and effort to carry the legacy their forefathers and mothers set out for them.

Taking these thoughts in stride, Suyashi seemed to fly down the stairs of the complex, moving and weaving through buildings before he found himself on the main road through the city. "Alright!" he shouted as he turned up the heat and began speeding faster and faster through the metropolis of buildings. It took him no time to turn up to the gate... but you knew this wasnt a Suyashi entrance without making it in with a bit of flare! So bursting with lightning chakra for a moment he would bounce off the floor channeling chakra into his feet and attempting to lundge up on the gigantic wall before him, but what he didnt realize, the wall was quite larger than he'd anticipated it to be. Leaving the boy to fly flat-faced on the forest colored wall, 'SPLAT!' almost in cartoonish fashion, he peeled himself off before scurrying up to the top with the entire half of his face covered in a deep crimson marking. His face was pounding in pain but he would not let that waver him. He stood smiling as if nothing at all had happened before saluting, "Minamoto Suyashi reporting for duty!", then looking down and around he spotted a brunette, a boy he knew as Shinzo. He was also joining the tournament. Normally Sushi would feel the heat of battle ready to course through him, but he liked this guy. They had the same work ethic. And anyone who worked as hard as Sushi did, was alright in his book.

Gratefully the shinbi extends his hand outwards to grasp against Shinzo’s, forcing himself to a stand. “You are alright in my book, Deguchi Shinzo. Feel free to call me Kano.” the captain of the guard barks out hardily. The sight of another figure arriving would catch his immediate attention, extending his hand outwards towards the crimson flush face of Minamoto Suyashi, “The stairs are a bitch, ain’t they?” he chuckles aloud, swiftly saluting back against the enthusiastic academy student. Clearing his throat, Kano begins to pace about on the Phoenix Gate flat, his hands waving as he speaks, “We are soon to begin planting in hopes having a strong crop for spring. We need all the muscle we can get today!” a pause, the man’s fist slams against his chest, “Many would call this a low mission, but this mission will help feed our village until the next harvest. How can that possibly be a low level mission?”

In the background a faceless figure laughs, “Captain Kano, it’s because the pay is minimal.” Causing the Aburame to turn on his heel in a huff, “Paying our dues requires no pay, in fact we are fortunate to make a payment from this!” he barks angrily. The one who dared to crack a joke cowers, unable to retort when faced with realism. Waving his hand outwards the aging Shinobi gestures towards the tools they were to use to begin plowing the fields below the eastern side of the gate. “Your ebony and ivory for the day.” he chirps happily, a grin surfaces on his features. The two in fact a hoe and shovel, basic grunt work. “We are to await the previous shift to return and we shall swap places.” he comments, staring against the distant horizon anxiously.

Off into the distance, cries of anguish and blood curdling screams echo about the field. An outline of villagers race towards the gate, full freight, “Help! Help! Help! We are unde-“ one by one they fall against earth, a plume of dust gathers behind their silhouettes and ultimately overtakes the yelling citizens. “Guards on full alert! This is not a drill, this is not a drill!” he cries out, not bothering to turn his attention the lads, “This is no place for kids anymore, stay put!” he orders, leaping from the safety of the top of the Phoenix Gate.

Streaking across the field the shinobi becomes concealed in the plumes of debris. At that very moment a young child breaks free of the uproar, screaming and waving her arms violently, “Please, save me!” she pleads as shadows begin to form around her.

Simple work brought simple and ample time to do it. This was for the glory of the Will of Fire. Looking on to the boy that he would have to work with today this would seemingly be an elaborate rouse to get the students to work together in light that the tournament was just over the horizon! Not that it mattered to Sushi, he enjoyed the company of the boy, maybe he would get to see a bit of his fighting style to prepare himself for the fight in the future that they would imminently have. However, the tournament was still weeks away, and today they were not rivals looking for the grand prize, they were comrades protecting their home. As such, Suyashi could see himself partnering up with Shinzo for many moons, many decades if the gods allowed such things. They had a knack for diminishing friendships and tearing them apart with betrayals or early deaths.

None of that mattered though, Sushi focused and began listening to the man speak. "Hnng. Aye Sir, Those stairs came outta no where and smacked me! Heh." light chuckles came from the honey dew blonde afterwards, he'd go back to listening. 'A low mission? One day I'll Lead an S Rank mission... And we'll get it done, with minimal casualties.', nodding to himself he agreed with the man, Kano was his name. Duty was over monetary value, Sushi didnt care how low the pay was, as long as he got a chance to protect those who couldnt protect themselves. Elders and Children would need the shinobi to do their best in all things to move forward with the ways the world needed to go. And Sushi was right there ready, willing and able to push through any level of iniquities to pursue the light that would be cast throughout the darkness of a shinobi riddled world. Even if he was just a minuscule spark in the cog of the grand idea, that would be enough for him... He was not his father nor mother. He wanted to be Suyashi, the most loyal and greatest shinobi to walk the face of this earth.

"You need Muscle! You called on the right ones for the Job! Heh!", he'd say as his hands would spark in excitement, as he grasped at his bicept flexing his mightily small muscle that popped up! He was proud of it. It was his muscle! No one would take that away from him! And then he heard the remainder of the details, a shift change operative duty... for gathering the harvest? Or planting the Harvest, some such. It didnt matter He would use everything available to him, from shovels to hoes, and not the ones that call me late at night either! Ooooh Boooyy! At any pace everything seemed quite quaintly calm until... over the horizon.

Someone in trouble! Sushi felt his hands clench, preparing his body for the worst, seeing the silhouettes falling victim to whatever the dust clouds seemed to be doign to them they would be told to stay put, but Sushi was reckless, he would not let people go in alone. He maybe was a bit too harsh in his approaches but he was certainly sure of himself that he would be able to force the subject as he would turn to Shinzo, "We cant stay up here! We gotta go!", and without hesitation he would leap from the top of the building down to the floor below rushing over to the girl, he'd clasp his hands together letting out a thunderous clap. Electroshock: Focus Affinity. It was time to defend the gates.

Hearing the captain give his approval of Shinzo really brought the boy’s spirits up, recognition was the thing which he most looked for at this point of life. “Of course, cap-“ He had to stop himself from addressing his superior by rank, “I mean Kano.” He briefly bowed his head before spinning on his heals to see who was making their way over. The arrival of Suyashi was a welcome one, the red faced smile he bore demonstrated his demeanour in most situations as far as Shinzo could tell. As the familiar, though slightly more floor-kissed, face arrived the younger of the two students gave him a nod in greeting. A warm smile present upon his youthful face as Suyashi made his introduction to the captain and others stood atop the wall. “It’s good to see you!” Shinzo beamed, holding out some cheery thumbs up in his approval of whom he expected to be his partner for the day. Even though the tournament was fast approaching, the idea of watching Sushi to observe his fighting style was only a mild inclination in Shinzo’s head, but really he doubted that there would even be an opportunity to do such a thing today.

As Kano spoke once again, Shinzo turned to listen, no doubt was this task for the day menial but knowing the work ethic of his peer served to comfort the idea that working the land wouldn’t take all that long. After all it was easy to get distracted while partaking in such a mission. He understood that providing land to grow crops on was of dire importance but really Shinzo hadn’t become a Shinobi to start tending the fields, but if it was his mission then there was little to complain about. If Shinzo could read the thoughts of Suyashi then of course he would be inspired to push on with great energy, but of course he could not and instead the young boy just stared towards the two tools that had been motioned to and wondered which he would be using today.

Suyashi demonstrated his muscular pose which took Shinzo slightly by surprise, but he chuckled along and flexed his own arms to display the tiny tricep on his right arm. “Haha! Yeah we’ve got this in the bag.” His mouth opened to continue with the slight jest but abruptly stopped himself. His ears pricked up as the shrieking from the growing dust cloud reached his position. In a flash the shinobi that were present left but for the time being the student decided to heed the orders given by captain Kano, he would stay put unless the situation called for action to be taken on his part. Which soon it would become apparent that it did.

His eyes darted towards the girl as she emerged from the chaos, her flailing and cries for help were clear indicators that she was distressed. The eight year old shinobi in training dropped his cheerful mood, his body language and facial expressions becoming stern and focused. This was the sort of mission that he had been hoping for secretly, some sort of action that he could use to demonstrate his abilities as a young ninja. He acknowledged Suyashi as he spoke, agreeing with a simple nod of the head before his peer leapt towards the girl below.

It was now Shinzo’s time to make a move, he began to analyse the situation at hand, the shadows definitely seemed menacing though he would have to have some sort of positive identification on those forms before it would be deemed appropriate to go on the offensive. He bent his knees, readying himself to leap from the wall. His right hand moved to the small of his back, grasping both the hilts of his butterfly swords from the sheath the two blades shared. This action only took the best part of a second and soon Shinzo had taken a step backwards to allow himself a short run up before throwing himself forwards. The energy within him churned, the air around him pushed past his small frame as the eight year old shot through the air. His hair rippled as the wind he generated flowed around his body, the hemming on the grey sleeveless top he wore flapped out behind him as he continued to dart onwards. To anyone observing the student, it would appear that his whole body simply flickered for a moment before reappearing ahead of Suyashi mid-flight. He landed on the far side of the girl, aiming to place himself between her and the approaching shadows. Now he held one sword in each hand, brandishing the left one outwards towards the figures and holding one above his head in a high guard. His feet shifted as he lowered into a defensive stance until it was clear who he was to encounter. “Are you ready Suyashi?” Shinzo called over to his comrade in a much more serious tone than normal. His eyes did not leave the figures as he waited for either a response or action. The one thing he did know was that the two students would have to defend this girl and the village with all their might.

In the midst of battle many horrors plague participants for years to come, often requiring extensive therapy. Fortunately the young shinobi arrive in the nick of time, the faceless child quivering in place, yet offered protection from the Seikon. Yusashi’s technique screeches through the plume of debris and cries of anguish erupt once more; oddly enough a majority of the echoes not human. “Lads! You shouldn’t have come!” a familiar voice calls from the depths of the endless upheaving of earth. “The rumors of their arrival were true after all, damn!” he explains, before his voice silences once and for all, a dull thud ends the momentary silence and the Abarume’s body resonates against the earth.

Instinctively the child races towards the safety of the gate, leaving behind Shinzo and Suyashi to gaze against the monstrosity before them. An odd rustling becomes audible, leisurely becoming louder with each interval. Darkness begins to surround between the pair, when all was said and done would the dust settle to reveal their comrades flat upon the ground unconscious. Beady eyes stare upwards against their developing bodies, the wanderers.

Wings as dark as night itself, their plumage bronze-green iridescence, and the bare skin of their head the color of rust circle the youngsters. In the distance the captain would surface against the onslaught, “The Rain wanderers, or perhaps from another place entirely . . . don’t let them fool you lads! They have come to ravage our seeds!” Kano protests, before faltering against a swarm, his hand sinking beneath the waves. One choice remains, to protect and fight their way out of the sticky situation.

“Gobble! Gooobble!” one cries out before launching forward towards the honey hair lad, feathers streak outwards towards Suyashi; although on closer inspection the faint of line of wind chakra guide the stray feathers through the air! Shinzo would find himself faced with a trio, rising into the skyways as best as a Turkey could manage, attempting to tackle the lad against the terrain.

“We have to do our part!” He called back, “we must defend the gates! That’s our ninja way!” He looked towards Suyashi briefly in search of agreement. Sounds of bodies hitting the floor caused the eight year old to wince slightly upon first hearing them, but after a moment of contemplation these sounds no longer bothered the shinobi in training. The shadows loomed over closer to Shinzo and his comrade. His eyes flicked back to the girl as she made her way swiftly towards the gates without looking to the two who had leapt down to save her. He blinked and turned his gaze back on the incoming creatures, his two butterfly swords still continued to shimmer as the vibrations caused by leaving their holster continued to reverberate inside the metal. The dust settled and the sight of his fallen comrades made Shinzo instinctively grind his teeth together. What could do such a thing..?

Turkeys.

Upon the loss of captain Kano, Shinzo darted towards the three birds that launched themselves towards him. The high guard was dropped in favour of a more offensive style of swordplay. Both blades were held down to his right hip as he leapt into the air to meet the turkey’s head on. His training had taught him to take the initiative and now was the time to strike first, if he could dispatch the turkeys before they could damage him then it would be a successful offensive, but still he hoped that if this failed he’d still be able to dodge their attacks on him. As he neared them, he brought his arms forwards in an attempt to slice at the first turkey with both swords at once. The strike moved diagonally up and to his left, seemingly on target as both blades seemed to leave a shimmer behind them after slicing through the air. After having made this attempt to strike on of the turkey’s in the neck. The energy within the Seikon built up once more as he began to channel it into his surrounding area, space and time itself seemed to warp around him for a brief moment – though only he could truly perceive what was going on. His physical form seemed to flicker then Shizno disappeared only to quickly reappear behind the middle-most bird of prey. Again, he launched an attack, this time he worked to strike at the turkey once with each weapon, this was in the hope that two strikes rather than one would be able to fell the creature. With the last turkey still unaffected by any attacks, Shinzo decided to allow his momentum to carry his body onwards, spinning in a full circle. He reached out at specific intervals to strike at the locations of the two outermost turkeys with his butterfly sword. He hoped that this momentum would allow him to dispatch both pieces of poultry in one swift action.

As he landed on the floor smoothly, still behind where the turkey’s had been. His knees bent as Shinzo lowered his stance once more to remain defensive, anticipating any incoming attacks in the hope of dodging them. His eyes flicked both to the threats close by and further in the distance, not knowing what was coming but preparing himself mentally for whatever he and Sushi would face next together. Teamwork played on Shinzo’s mind briefly, he placed his swords swiftly back into their holster and reached for one of the feathers upon his head. As he took it from within his hair, the spine seemed to glisten as if metallic. In one smooth flick of his wrist, Shinzo sent this feather senbon straight towards the turkey attacking Suyashi, hopefully this would give him at least some aid.

"All for one! And One for all! We will not stand back!", nodding he could feel his chakra bolting around him, as the sun in the sky would surmise the thoughts that came into his head, he would not allow himself to be let down by fault or failures. Today was all that mattered, and they would work together against a common foe in order to move to a better standing in this world. Sushi was not one to let anyone down and out with the thoughts that they would have to be alone. He was a team fighter, he would work his way up to make sure that his generation knew that they would be better off allowing themselves to dwaddle rather than taking action. He would make sure he could be the beacon of hope for his village, he didnt ever think he was going to be good for Hokage or any Kage position, but he wanted to ensure that he would be able to protect any Hokage he served. To make the notions around the world know that whomever's side he belonged to would be the winning side. And thats where this all stood, as time seemingly slowed around him he'd feel his chakra burst in static all over his body. Lightning Style: Volt Jump!. It would seem that with every move he made he would get faster, the surge in his body would begin rippling through his arms and the static that seemed to begin to completely surround him. Then as Kano would be swallowed by the swarm it would seem that they had no other choice!

"Captain! NO!", this was no use, he'd be taken, and Sushi wouldnt have any time to remorse the loss of a comrade but he did shake his head wildly before drawing his blade with blinding speed allowing the static of his body to surround the Cane sword that split into two! Elemental Channeling: Lightning! He'd meet his style! Piercing Style: Shred and Counter! Before he'd begin lunging at the sign of it all he had one opponent while Shinzo had a few more but he would handle what was infront of him first before attempting to help his friend. So with a quick-jab and thrust forward, Sushi would drive his blade at the Turkey, he was still getting used to his blades but this wasnt at all something he was completely unfamiliar with. Success or not he couldnt help himself but to look over to Shinzo! This wasnt going to be a fair fight, they had to do something better to get these damned turkey's off of them.

'What are these things feral? Are they angry because of the time of year?! Are they angered because we've killed and eaten countless of their brethren!' The Minamoto Sushi would think as dust and debris kicked up into the air, coating line of sight a bit but he kept track of it as best as he could! Who knows if this was going to be good enough for the events that would come as a result of their negligence! How could they be so daft in thought to believe there wouldnt be a level of vengeance that came from years of slaughter of a common brethren! It all made sense in Sushi's head... but today, he would have Turkey broth to put in his ramen! And this would be enough turkey for Turkey Sandwiches that would last through the tournament! Oh yes what a glorious day this would be, beating back the turkey that came up against them in time for the harvest! This would be a great victory!

Plumage liters the skies above the two youngsters, the sound of screeching emit all about the pair. Shinzo lashes against the fowls, the initial two land dully against the ground, the light within their gaze cease to exist and leaving about a single within arms distance. The acrobatics of the Seikon aid him greatly, yet due to his lack of experience with combatants ready to sacrifice their entirety, would the shinobi to be met a new foe. The bird of prey lurches forward, successful in slamming its frame into the developing academy student and sends him to greet the terrain below. Violently the wings beat against the features of the lad. Fortunately his attempt to aid his comrade would not go to waste, the feather-like senbon hurls through the air to jab into the wing of the fowl squaring off against Suyashi.

Feathers dislodge from the turkey onto Shinzo's face, blurring his vision from the remaining battle, "Gooble Goooooble!". The honey hair lad, had begins to channel electricity through the air, sparks lurch outwards to graze the distracted delicious meal. A cry of anguish erupts from the beak of the creature, unable to maneuver the injured wing the Minamoto takes the opportunity to flurry the piercing object, pelting the creature with blow after blow. On the final instance of the technique the fowl ricochets backwards, streaking into the unsuspecting ally on top of Shinzo, toppling over the other and freeing the Seikon. Team work, though one far more lucky than the other.

Regrettably Suyashi's technique leaves an opening, a single turkey races forward to clip the chin of the lad with an uppercut - despite the sparks emitting from his frame. The Minamoto child would rear back, the blow not heavy, but certainly not feathery. Shinzo would have to act swiftly, a group begins to surround his alley, five to be exact. "Lads, help me!" a voice calls from beneath a pile of ravaging creatures. Would Shinzo be able to aid both or would he be forced to choose who to aid? Find out next time on . . .

"Gooble Goooooble!"

Shinzo landed swiftly on the ground after successfully dispatching two of the turkeys that sprung upon him, only to be tackled by the remaining feathered beast of the trio. He hit the floor, hard, and proceeded to be pinned down. A small cloud of dust and dirt rose around him as his frame settled on the floor below his foul opponent. What was the world coming to, could he be so easily overcome by a single bird? The answer was no, as another of the pesky poultry came barrelling in to topple its partner. That was a failure of teamwork on the enemies behalf, but he wouldn’t complain, it made his situation much easier.

Now free from the encumbrance of the turkeys, Shinzo pushed himself up, sheathed his swords and allowed for a moment to pass so he could get his bearings and analyse the situation. His eyes flicked towards his partner, watching as a feathery fist caught him on the chin and sent him backwards. As five more birds descended on Shinzo he furrowed his brow before he pushed off from the dust covered ground and began to sprint towards his peer, there would be no time to get into more conflict if he wanted to aid the others. He leapt. By leading with his right leg outstretched and left leg tucked underneath, the boy flew through the air to make a dynamic entry aimed towards side of the turkey attacking Sushi. He allowed for his momentum to carry him forwards through the area that he expected the turkey to be, hopefully he would hit his mark. He called out to Sushi upon passing.

“Quick! We need to help Captain Kano!” He made a fast gesture for Sushi to follow with him before he allowed for the energy within himself to be released. His hope was that Suyashi would be able to compose himself and move to aid in the rescue of the higher ranking shinobi. By reducing the area of combat then the enemy would be easier to handle, or so he thought. The space around the younger of the two students seemed to distort as reality itself warped around him, in a moment his physical form flickered and disappeared though soon reappeared in the air above the pile of birds attacking the captain. Again he lead his dissent with his feet, looking to utilise his weight to crush one of the turkeys. Upon landing next to Kano, Shinzo drew a breath and began to channel his chakra towards his hands. As he began to feel his chakra move down his forearms, the boy interlocked his fingers and drew them back into his chest. His mind was a blank void at this point, Shinzo could see himself stood in a shallow pond in darkness as white lighting shot above him in slow motion. It grew ever closer and in a flash he was struck with a single bolt. Now he allowed for the flowing energy within him to also travel down his arms, he thrust both hands forwards and sent a broad pulse of energy through the air, reality itself became distorted in the area of some of the turkeys. Light bent around this wave to allow for it to be visualised by any paying attention.

Shinzo took a breath, he hadn’t used that jutsu before but that didn’t mean he had time to rest up. Immediately he offered a hand to the captain, hoping to help him stabalize himself if he needed any support. Having moved to do that, Shinzo soon advanced towards the nearest turkey, hoping to make four quick strikes in the direction of its beak and more broadly its head. After attempting this, however, he moved back towards the more experienced Shinobi, covering his back in a defensive stance as he waited for his peer to hopefully make an entrance and aid in the rescue of Captain Kano amongst the chaos.

As it would come to pass, They seemed to be bombarded. Well, that was suffice to say that the previous statment was quite purely an underestimation of the scenario they were embarking upon. Shinzo and Suyashi were fighting... wildfowl... enlarged pheasants... 'Turkey'. And not the country either. There were no middle eastern people bombarding the child duo. They came across these beast of nature gobbling about, gallivanting and attempting to pus them back! It was bad enough that their mission proctor... Or whatever he was, seemed to be captured in the fray of it all. Sushi did what the plan called for. Attack, with a hefty and poised attack! They would attempt to take these things head on, but to no avail! Sushi was getting pushed back and uppercutted, while Shinzo seemed to get ganged on. 'This is not a good situation, but we have no choice... Imma go in!' thinking to himself about the course of actions he would be forced to take outside of this, in order to save his comrade! He would have to do more than just lightning, He would have to fulfill his promise! Looking back on it...

'I will be the one to protect this land... They gave me so much... I can only do that to repay my debts.', As he thought about speaking to his mother when they entered Konoha. They seemed to be on a mission, Kouza and Sushi, to show that they werent just some slackers, to take this life seriously. To push the envelope of justice and equality. Sushi found himself swiping at the bird of prey that uppercutted him and caught his electric charge - Static Slowdown Stance - A large smirk filled his face as he continued to charge about, Poking and prodding everything infront of him. Even twirling to attempt at hitting multiple targets at the same time. Dynamic Pierce. A Synmphony of strikes would continue to attempt at the fowl. He didnt have time to worry about it at all and in all honesty he would work himself to death to protect this land. So he wasnt caring about the strain on his weaker body now, but he would continue to push forward.

"Shinzo! Buddy! I got your back! Save Kano-sama!", leaping into the air he would quickly sheath his weapons before forming handseals to cover the field away from Shinzo in flames. "Katon: Gokakyu no Jutsu!", he'd over done it though releasing a large fireball that was overcharged with chakra! Fireball Technique with Blazing Flare Special Action with Overcharge Affinity move, Sushi didnt know the meaning of not holding back. He was certain that his ideals and prowess would go a long way! He wanted to try his best to protect Shinzo as much as he was being protected by the young boy. Did Konoha have such exciting peoples to be this strong at such a young age. It didnt at all matter though, Sushi was going for broke. He wanted everything and everyone to be saved, maybe he would be the protector? Maybe he was just an idiot... But he was about to do everything in his power to fulfill his promise.

Excessive flames singe the air about Suyashi, allowing for his companion to reach his destination with ease and the aroma of roasted fowl litter the air. Feathers rise upwards due to the back draft of the fire, the air momentary difficult to breathe in due the immense heat. The damage done via the Minamoto's taijutsu not worth speaking of as his secondary action did far more than necessary and his rapid jabs merely fending off the beasts. All the while Shinzo flickers throughout the air delivering flurry upon flurry onto the unsuspecting turkeys, giving him ample opportunity to reach the older Shinobi.

Captain Kano's hand outstretches to grasp a hold the petite child, despite their considerable difference in stature he is able to come to a standstill. "Damn birds, we heard rumors they were in the Hi No Kuni, but we thought they would pass over." he mumbles, brushing himself off. For the time being there appeared to a lack of moral on the side of the foul creatures, allowing a momentary reprieve as the remaining creatures realign themselves in a flock. "Somethings is off, be cautious lads." he calls out, widening his stance only to notice too late, Kano's frame lurches towards the earth and instantly buried to his neck. "Doton!?" he cries out in shock, "How in the worl-" he is cut off as the next wave begins their assault, the taijutsu grunts no longer an option and a new threat rapidly approaches.

A trio rises upwards into the air, wings come together in unison.

"Goble: Gooble Goooble Goooobble!"
"Goble: Gooble Goooble Goooobble!"
"Goble: Gooble Goooble Goooobble!"

(For those not well versed in the dialect of Turkeys: Katon: Karyū Endan<i></i>)

Miraculously the combined efforts of the feathery brutes combine their chakra to produce a serpent of flame - the heat causing the air to drastically to rise in temperature and notable nearly roasting the creators in the process. With each passing moment the creature grows in size before screeching forward, a second head emerging from the technique, dodging no longer a viable option, all the duo would be able to do is do their utmost to fend off the technique. The greater the creation of searing fire lessens the distance, the greater damage they would incur!

  • Suyashi

Wave 3: Commence!

Note: The technique is Rank 1 utilzing the Hydra special action - meaning the damage is 3,960 to each of you. Any techniques you use will decrease the overall damage done to you, but be weary of there being one additional wave left. Your health points and Chakra Points will be affected accordingly.

Not to worry, your bonus objective from last round will decrease the number a bit more, but I won't state how much. Captain Kano will aid in the next post.

Captain Kano stood high above the eight year old, there was only a moment before the elder shinobi is suddenly buried to his neck. Shinzo had barely any time at all to observe the sudden display from the trio of turkeys as they leapt into the air. He had heard of ninken and even seen one or two but he was nevertheless surprised by the ability that these birds possessed. How could they muster the strength and chakra to cast such an incredible jutsu. The heat of it caused Shinzo to throw his arms in a cross guard infront of his face, he could feel the burning. If that was anything to go by then taking a hit from this jutsu would be extremely harmful, if not fatal. Considering he could already feel the heat dodging would not be an option from this point onwards. The young boy had to think.

He glanced around looking for something that may aid him in his newfound objective, this jutsu needed to be stopped or at least it would need to be offset as to not cause a huge amount of damage to his remaining allies. The green eyes possessed by the youngest of the two boys flicked towards Suyashi, with brow furrowed Shinzo gave a small nod. He knew that some similar thoughts could very well be going through the head of his comrade. But with any luck Sushi would have a wider variety of ninjutsu to counter the imminent onslaught of dragon fire. “I’ll do what I can, but we have to do this as a team! Quicker than wind and faster than lighting!” He gave a pained smirk towards his friend as his own face showed signs of burning in the heat.

There was little time to truly focus properly but thankfully for Shinzo he had already been focusing the chakra-like energy that flowed within him as well as every Seikon. He drew his hands to his chest and reduced the rate of his breathing, if he was to be of any help to his comrades in the fight to come he would have to keep his focus up.

The hands of the boy began to weave handseals rapidly as once more Shinzo drew upon his inner energy. It ran from his core, warping to and from his chakra points up to the palms of his hands. As the energy reached his fingers, Shinzo drew his hands together in a loud clap aimed towards the dragon of fire. "Destruction pulse!" As his hands slammed together reality itself seemed to ripple, a wave of distortion flew from Shinzo’s hands directly towards the dragon. If anyone was looking closely all the feathers and foliage in the air would seem to distort as the wave passed over it. Shinzo had no time to observe to see if his bloodline jutsu hit as he immediately began sprinting to a new location. His energy was focused again, soon he was able to release another destruction pulse towards the dragon. Yet again he didn’t wait to observe if it made its mark or not, instead he sprinted to another location.

His breathing was heavy now as he harnessed the reality warping energy within him, but he could muster one more jutsu. He closed his eyes as tightly as he could, the energy travelled up his arms and into his palms. As it reached his fingers he released it once more with a clap, the wave of distortion flew from his hands towards the dragon. If his mental calculations were correct then this three pronged attack would be able to potentially throw the dragon off course or to at least weaken it considerably. With one final look towards the incoming attack, Shinzo readied himself for what was yet to come.

Taking in the situation he would burn those birds to crisps.... They'd be considered deep fried at this point. Landing to the ground though, he would notice that this was just the beginning. There was alot to be done and Sushi wasnt about to begin his fleeting response just yet. They'd completed getting Kano out of trouble, but for how long? It didnt matter, he'd prepare his blade now tucked away in their sheaths he would find himself looking to Shinzo who didnt seem to be as winded as he was... but this was going to be something that he was sure that would take them for a ride...

'How much more must we endure!?' thinking back a bit, this was a very high level technique that was launched at them just after Kano was sunk into the ground... but what pulled him under and how? Maybe it was literally quick sand? Or something else... who knew in all honesty but he was surely about to worry himself if he didnt think of something soon! And it hit him! 'Water trumps fire! I got this!', nodding he'd perform suiton handsigns before looking to Shinzo, and nodding, "Suiton: Araioto!", he'd say before his mouth would swell with water that he would lift his head and spout to the sky covering he and Shinzo in a veil of Water - Rinse Off - subsequently lowering the damage they would take from the uncoming attack, it was too large for them to dodge it, but not too hot for them to reduce the impact!

Though with Sushi's low level of chakra this was all he would be able to muster as Shinzo would attempt to beat back the attack with whatever jutsu he was yelling about, this wasnt at all the level of chakra he would think he could see from the small boy. However, this was indeed a chance for him to see what he had coming for him in the tournament. He would hope to get to see the boy fight someone else aside from these turkey before he would inevitably fight him. Then again what if he lost to a stronger opponent in the tournament. That would throw Sushi completely off, but then again who was to say that they wouldnt be the strongest around? He knew Kouza may not have been as fast, but he compensated for his speed with strategy. He could edge out anyone if they gave him enough time. Sushi was a pressure player... Presurring them with a stout defense leading into an overwhelming offense. Who knew though... it was up for grabs...

'Here goes nothing!' Sushi would brace for impact!

The strength of the flames intensify, streaking through the air towards the duo. Fortunately the Minamoto child performs a technique to douse the assault, though not lowering the output as much as he would hope. Concerning the Seikon blessed lad, Shinzo rapidly fires off techniques in hopes of distorting the space the flame inhabit - to great success! The head of the creature he targets deals damage far quicker than the regenerative properties allow. The end result a technique a student of his caliber capable of enduring; nothing more than the strength of a D-Rank technique upon reaching his location - despite the sheer mass of the fiery serpent.

Regrettably, Suyashi faces an onslaught, the behemoth of flames surge forward towards the academy student. The very ground about him trembles, prior to a creation of earth leaping forward to place itself between the shinobi to be and the deadly searing flames, Rock Golem<i></i>. "Hold on lads!" Captain Kano cries out, free of his imprisonment and meters away from the duo, "Sorry for my late response, I was buried to my neck!" he mutters before witnessing the horror of his defense crumbling and the plume of flames streak towards Suyashi. "Suyashi!" he cries out, pivoting about to signal for Shinzo to aid his partner. "I'll deal with these three, let an old man teach you a thing or two!" he leaps forward to combat the remaining three, flurry upon flurry of techniques collide - consisting mostly of earth and flame.

Upon Shinzo arriving to the charred honey hair Suyashi, would a lingering shadow hover over them. "You dare to harm my brethren?"<i></i> the monstrosity bellows, the height of a fully grown male. The appearance far from pleasant, the fowl void of most of the feathery protection and brandishing its horrifying appearance. "Let this be a lesson you tell generations to come and may your next life be far kinder to you, ground walker!"<i></i> grasping upon poor Shinzo, the beasts arms wrap around him, Suplex<i></i>, hurling the lad against the terrain to deliver a devastating blow and leaving Shinzo to dwell on his thoughts beside his compatriot.

Shinzo looked on to see the fire serpent gradually decreased in strength when his jutsus made contact with its form. His arms crossed in front of his face as the heat became overwhelming, but he had to endure. His hands and forearms had been slightly protected by the wrappings that were woven over the end of his limbs, but now the majority had become singed and in several places the wrappings lay loose and hung with tattered ends.

Suyashi seemed to have taken the brunt of the jutsu, even without having to see the gesture from captain Kano, Shinzo began to sprint over towards his peer. As he ran the shadow above the two students grew immensely, he moved to reach into his belt pouch and throw a medical kit towards his fellow shinobi in training. “Here take this quickly!” He called just before being snatched up by the humanoid turkey hybrid…thing. Shinzo hadn’t the time to listen as he squirmed attempting to free himself from its grasp to no avail. He was pulled away from Suyashi only to be thrown down back next to him with incredible force. His clothes tore on loose rocks, his arms now almost completely bare, covered in scrapes and scratches. His face dripped with a sticky mixture of mud, sweat and blood. His jaw was gashed but there was no time to lick his wounds.

Shinzo brought his hands together, forming hand seals once more. Sparks began to dance along his arms and gather in his hands. He didn’t stop there though, Shinzo continued to form hand seals, a blurred glowing aura surrounded his hands and feet as his chakra took a wind form. He reached for his butterfly swords that were thankfully still held on his back, the boy drew them quickly. The two chakra forms flowed up the metal and Shinzo leapt but disappeared in mid air. In a flash he reappeared behind the horrifying creature and lashed out with his swords, gathering all his strength to unleash this attack. After aiming to make the strike, Shinzo disappeared once more only to reappear in a moment with his swords sheathed, he stretched one leg out to the turkey monster aiming to slam into its beak with a dynamic entry. He landed on it’s right side and lashed out with a two punch combination to create a dynamic finish. Though the move set may have seemed complete, Shinzo was not done. He formed hand seals once more but this time sent electricity down his legs and to his feet, he aimed a quick strike with his foot towards the point at which the two legs of the turkey creature met, some could say it was a bit of a nut buster.

Shinzo threw himself backwards from the creature to stand beside his peer. He once more gathered the energy gifted to the Seikon clan, clapping his hands together to release a wave of destabilising energy towards the monster. This was the last he could really do at the moment, hopefully he and Sushi would be able to take this guy out. Hiding his abilities from his potential tournament opponent would only lead to harm at this point, Shinzo would rather be safer today than have an upper hand in the tournament to come. If they even made it that far… Shinzo could feel a huge pain growing within him as he exhausted his chakra, he had never used this much before, his right knee hit the ground as he clutched his chest, the boy could tell that he would be out of action for a while now if they made it.

Kano saved him. 'I have to become strong enough to save others... I cant keep getting saved by everyone.' shaking his head a bit more this was not going to be well off. However, as quickly as he was saved another danger would appear. A burly buff turkey beast man thing. Huffing deeply he didnt care about anything the thing said all e could think was, 'You're not going to impose on my destiny...' looking to Shinzo and then Kano he would straighten his body, roll his shoulders as his neck and back would emit a loud crackling as his spine would adjust himself. "...Lets finish this.", moving forward he managed to begin flashing through handsigns, he'd build up his chakra for this attack something he wanted to use but it was too dangerous to use in the village because of the chakra it used but he would not know how to stop it...

Zeus Flash Rank 1. Charging the bolt of lightning he'd launch three bolts into the abdomen of the beast... all of them overcharged with his utmost chakra placed into it, but with that he'd fall to a knee with exhaustion settling in. He didnt know what more he could do, but Shinzo would have to push further, but right now Suyashi didnt have the strength nor the chakra to push further! Maybe their attacks would be enough to take him down... Maybe so.

Shinzo would take the liberty bombarding the abomination with a flurry of techniques, unfortunately the initial few results in nothing more than a mere scratch upon the behemoth's flesh. ""You think I am the same as my brethren?"</GLOW><i></i> the monstrosity inquires, ""Shinobi child, you need to understand that pure assault is not a means to victory."<i></i> the beast roars charging forward towards the Seikon gifted child, ""Perish, ground walker!"<i></i> a massive hand hovers head of the lad, grasping tightly with enough pressure to cause immense pain and lifting Shinzo straight into the air to come face to face with the beast himself, ""You continue to mock my kin-"<i></i> A flash of lightning chakra bursts forward to crash into the left shoulder of the fowl, staggering backwards - yet remaining the grasp upon the child.

Realizing that his attention would need to be divided equally, the flesh of his left shoulder singed, causing an alarm. Regrettably prior the behemoth being able to continue with a plan of action, the amber hair child's fist finds home with the nut buster technique; the child is immediately released as the creature bellows in anguish. Surely the future generation of his flock were to be in jeopardy due to the groin assault, the distance between the duo would increase as the beast leaps back to only be met with another electric zap to his opposing shoulder, the frame of the monster hunching forward.

The gizzard of the beast shakes furiously, a loud battle cry escapes the beast as he places all of his weight against the terrain to boost forward, the pulsing chakra technique distorting Yuggi's vision. Instinctively the turkey-hyrbid swings outwards at thin air a few times before being struck by the final bolt by Minamoto Suyashi. The damage done was undeniable, yet the creature still stood and the academy students no longer possessed the chakra to take down the creature, ""You lose, this is our victory."<i></i> he squawks, dashing towards the Phoenix Gates, <GLOW glow="#EE2C2C">""This year will be different, you fail Shinobi!" a flock of turkey march forward in the wake of their leader, a few pecking viciously at Suyashi in passing, brushing their talons against his flesh! Unsuspecting horrors were to unfold if the pair could not muster the strength for one final attempt - Konohagakure were to be filled with cries of anguish.

From above the gates, guards berate the oncoming doom and gloom, beginning to rain down various elements of chakra techniques. Streams of water, jolts of electricity, zephyrs of wind, clumps of earth, and even that of embers of fire pick off all but the main course; who leaps upwards into the sky.

Shinzo looked up towards the monstrosity, blood leaked from the corner of his mouth. His body was weak now, he could feel the pain of breathing in his chest and at this point he wasn’t sure if it would be possible to walk unassisted. The youngest of the two boys watched on helplessly as the volume of turkeys grew, their numbers seeming to never end. There must be something he could do.

As the leader of the turkeys spoke, Shinzo’s teeth began to grind together. He would not allow for this mission to be a failure, he had not yet been unable to finish anything he started. The boy couldn’t let this happen. He wouldn’t let this happen.

“No.” He spoke, softly at first before breaking out into a shout of refusal. “No! We will not let you harm our village. This is our home, how dare you think you could destroy it. You barely have enough skill to fight two academy students!” He placed extreme emphasis on the final two words in his sentence, hoping this would be enough of an insult to slow the onslaught of feathered fowl. Shinzo placed his left arm onto the ground, it shook uncontrollably from the elbow as he used the strength he could muster to push his now severely damaged body up.

He turned to look at Suyashii and spoke with quiet courage. “I don’t have enough chakra to deal with him. But I’ll do what I can. We will do what we can.” He watched as a turkey came to injure his peer and to that bird he gave a sharp punt in the neck with his foot. The impact did cause some pain and indeed Shinzo would grimace slightly upon contact. The eight year old child turned to see the back of the largest of turkey creatures. He had to make a difference now, there was nothing else to do apart from give up, but this boy never gave up.

His hands moved to his back, unsheathing his butterfly swords. If he were to help the shinobi combatting the horde then the best way would be to keep pestering the leader. Shinzo took a step, then another, then another. Soon he was able to break out into a run, both blades held at his sides as he picked up speed. He may not have had chakra left to continue the fight but the little seikon energy that still dwindled inside him pushed him to overcome his limits. Soon he was close to the towering monstrosity. First, he swiped with both blades towards it’s kneecaps, hoping to slow it’s advance. This was followed by a flurry of three strikes aimed for Yuggi’s insane torso.

Shinzo threw himself upwards in an attempt to get as close to Yuggi’s face as possible. In one final motion, Shinzo slashed downwards towards the creature’s beak, hoping to remove it completely, but if nothing else, this would give his partner enough time to end this.
