Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Takeshi whistled as he walked through the class room, though the sun was shining and the birds chirping outside he smiled to himself as he wandered through the corridors of the academy remembering the times where he was here. Being selected by the First Hokage for forming a team, that was when he met his now wife Yuki. Arashi his team mate, the two of them had bleed for the village and fought side by side together. It had been a time where everything had gone so well, until that war.

A small sigh escaped his lips as he walked past one of the teachers accidently bumping shoulders he smiled slightly as he turned to watch the man who apologized and walked away. It seemed they had prepared his class room and everything now was ready for the day’s session to commence. Takeshi tinged as the bruise covering his face ached his ribs a few broken and battered. He sighed softly last night experience still fresh in his head as he had sat up trying to figure out how he could have done better.

That wasn’t important was now important was that he was here to teach the Class of today. Today was his time to show the next generation what life was like for a shinobi. It was something that he knew they would be eager to do and to prove themselves. That was always the case even back in his day he was the same, he couldn’t blame them for that one. As he allowed his hand to reach the door and open it he smiled as he considered the room. It had been laid out the exact way he had specified before the lesson began.

The room had big windows lighting the tables unlike the normal tiered layout this desk were in a wide u shaped layout, with that the chairs all can twist to face the blackboard and the teacher desk. It was to keep everyone involved and in his eye sight. As he smiled he placed question’s out on the desks. He was here to test their knowledge and see what they knew. That much was clear, as he smiled he took a piece of chalk on the board and begun to write.

Teacher: Uchiha Takeshi, Position: ANBU Captain, Lesson: Survival 101

Once he had finished writing that on the blackboard he took the seat behind his desk and waiting for people to join. As he sat there quietly he smiled to himself and just waiting to see who would turn up.

Shiori was walking through the academy for extra-curricular classes for what he hoped was the final time.

It wasn’t that he hated classes, but he felt he was ready to pass his exams, and become a Genin. The first step to greatness. He had grown a lot in his time as a student, from a timid boy to-

-Well, still timid, but he had been getting better. Forced socialisation at the hands of his friends and the academy had caused the boy to come out of his shell. Sparring with Kaori had built his confidence in his abilities as a fighter.

He stepped across the threshold of the classroom, to find the teacher already present. A green haired shinobi was sat waiting, battered and bruised, at the front of the class. Shiori was initially curious, but he thought it better to keep questions to himself, for now. In the meantime, he focussed on finding a seat. It seemed he was the first one here. That gave him the pick of the litter.

His friend Megu’s words filtered into his mind as he twisted his ring on his finger.

Don’t go at the front, you don’t want to seem keen. But don’t sit right at the back, you don’t want to look like you aren’t listening, or you’ll get picked out for questions.

He bobbed his heads to the teacher.

“Hiyasu Shiori, sir. Here for the class posted on the board.”

Finished with his introduction, he made his way up the tiers of seating, in just behind the middle row. He took off his patched and grubby jacket, hanging it with care over the back of his chair, before pulling out some loose pages for notes. He began smoothing them down as he waited for others to arrive.

Every early morning Hoshi made sure to wake up just before daybreak and once again practice his taijutsu. The Hachimon performed five hundred push-ups within the hour. Sweat was beating down his face already contrast to the cool breezing air outside. The sweat felt good, cooling down his heating body from the workout. After his variations of push ups, Hoshi with his weighted clothes performed another 500 squats just as the day was breaking. He was heaving deep breaths, but controlled, in through his nose and out through slightly parted lips. His chest would expand while his abdomen would rise with each breath.

Hoshi spent another hour practicing ancient Hyuuga clan techniques, the Jyuuketsu combo and Air Palm. Two more techniques he was finally able to perform correctly. Another hour passed before the kid pulled out a shoulder bag filled with Ichiraku ramen. Out on the training grounds he scarfed one down while sitting cross legged outside surrounded by nature.

After the last slurp of his bowl Hoshi would rise, slinging the shoulder bag over his left. He discarded the trash in the necessary place and entered the academy. Although he was a Genin on the cusp of Chuunin, he never felt himself to be above the learning curve and so, he was going to attend yet another class to add to his already extensive catalog of lessons. He walked in, flowing long black hair breezing behind him in a ponytail. His pale Hyuuga eyes searched to and fro at each corridor and class looking to find the corresponding room of what his letter held. His eyes shifted from the letter to his surroundings and he stopped finding the correct door.

Hoshi entered and found a U shaped desk with a student already in attendance and the green haired Shinobi from before. He examined the room, Shouyu took the seat at the arc of the U, it could be considered the back or the center of the class. He would have a direct view of the board, he wanted to make sure he could see everything and everybody. He set his shoulder bag down and read the board. He nodded and looked away until a thought clicked in his mind. "Anbu captain? Could he be the one who subdued Kiri at the gates?"

He examined the stature of his mind and was interrupted by the student introducing himself. Shiori, and right after his eyes would grow wide and light up. He had previously met Shiori at Yuuto's night club where the purged the pests eating at his tree. Hoshi smirked and then introduced himself, shifting his gaze to Takeshi.

"Hoshi, Shouyu. Genin er... yeah."

He was still hesitant on telling his anbu rank, even though Yuuto professed to him to not be afraid. The example was Takeshi, who openly expressed his rank, Hoshi looked over to Shiori and back to Takeshi.

"Anbu... in training."

Hoshi could be seen as uncomfortable, his eyes furrowed together as he leaned back into his chair and slouched a bit. His eyes then begin to absorb the room as he looked around. Apparently this was going to be lesson on survival. Hoshi had forgotten paper and writing utensils having the initial thought that it would be a more, hands on class. Eventually his face eased up and he straightened himself. He began tapping his desk lightly and nodding his head, he hyperactivity making it hard to keep still as he waited for the class to begin.

The cool morning breeze wafted across his porcelain cheeks as the breaking sun caressed him with the warmth of a brand new day. Raising an arm, he brushed the idle strands of hair from his eyes and grinned at such an idyllic wakeup call. Stirring from his bed, his pale blue nightgown hung listlessly across his chest in an almost suggestive manner. Moving his gaze from the window to the table beside it, he resolved that the morning was not yet perfect.

Grasping at a thin packet, one among many contained in a small jar beside his bed, he ripped it open and poured the contents into a small cup that hung from a hook above the jar. He almost brought the cup to his lips in an absentminded sip, before he remembered that he hadn't actually brewed himself any coffee yet. Grabbing a pot and filling it with water, he plugged in a single round and waited expectantly for the water to boil.

As he waited, he looked out from his window at the small section of the village he could see. Others were already well about their day, those with more pressing jobs had already set up stalls along the street and he could see students rushing their way towards the academy. Turning his gaze up towards the towering structure in the distance, he gave a rye smile as he considered it for a moment. It only took a moment longer for that smile to turn towards shocked realization. If those students were already running, then he would be well behind if he desired to catch any of the earlier classes in the day.

With what speed he could muster, he grabbed the pot, hot as it was, and doused the instant coffee with piping hot water. Stirring with one hand, he tossed open a small closet door and retrieved his stylish hanbok and tossed it over his bed. It took him mere moments before he was dressed and sipping on the still all too hot coffee. The real work to be done came as he sat before a mirror, positioned strategically beside the closet door, and began wrapping his waist length hair up into an effective but attractive bun. Just as he took the last sip of coffee from his cup, placing it back on its hook, he struck his binyeo into place and dashed out the door to join the rest of the masses making their way through the streets.

Hands clasped behind his back, hidden beneath the folds of his hanbok, Yeong strolled the halls of the Academy at an idle pace. There was always so much to learn from the building, and even when it came to matters he was already proficient in there was always service done in giving oneself a refresher course. As much as he had rushed to get here, he still didn't have any assigned class schedule since graduating from a student level and thus was on his own to pick from any continuing education courses. Of course, he wouldn't waste anyone's time by entering a classroom that was already full or clearly had already begun...

"Hoshi, Shouyu. Genin er... yeah. Anbu... in training." The words 'Anbu in training' certainly caught his ear, causing him to quirk a brow and turn in that direction. The ponytailed figure introducing himself to the teacher didn't appear to be anyone special, but he was relatively unacquainted with most of the current string of academy graduates as it was... let alone Anbu selectees. He took it for granted that this was just another person he had failed to meet since coming to the village, yet his interest was already piqued, so he followed his curiosity into the room.

Drawing his arms out from behind himself, letting the loose arms of the hanbok drift at his sides, he took a low bow towards Takeshi and spoke while his head was positioned level to the floor. "Yeong Su Han, Gennin. Here for continuing education, sir." Pausing for any response, he would raise himself back up to full height, smile respectfully and turn back to the many seats that filled the room. Continuing to follow the interest that had brought him here in the first place, he took a seat near Shouyu Hoshi and observed the nervous tick the other seemed to be displaying. His low smile continued to play across his face as his arms crossed over the desk in front of him.

The time was ticking away. Saying it was late was probably an understament. Having at the Academy's extensive library Hisame had completely read through the night. He was completely unaware that it was now the next day until the usual morning sounds began to whisper through the nearest window. Breaking his concentration the boy's attention was shifted to the warm yellow beam of light that began to cut through the silent dusty room. It was morning.

Letting out a sigh he knew it was time for his first class. The theme of his scheduled class was Survival, something the boy felt confident in. Slowly rolling up the scroll before him the boy would tighten the seal on it before placing it back in it's appropriate locker, after all this room was organized for a reason. Picking up the large scroll his mother gave him the boy through it around his back so that it would hang at his back.

His long warm brown hair was carefully pulled into a knot on his head similar to the way many of the girls wore their hair nowadays. His feminine build was matched by his natural beauty that many would assume he was a young lady, regardless his sense of style was that of his own. Asymmetric sleeves on his crystal blue tunic and pant legs on his tan pants. Seeking to have no equipment on him other than the scroll he appeared to be a defensless child. Regardless he was training to be a Shinobi.

Finally making his way up to the room where the class was to be held the boy sales in to see his sensei and his fellow peers.

"..."

He realized he had met the man before and had already introduced himself so there was no reason to do it again. The agile young child made his way to his seat on the side of the U-shaped desk arrangement. If anyone was near him they would feel a slight drop of temperature. Something not significant nor drastic but it was still a trait the boy could not control about himself. Adjusting the scroll to lean against his desk the boy was ready for his class to begin.

It had not been since he began the path to become a member of the ANBU branch that Yukio had seen the inside of a class room poking his head in to see a lesson was being held he thought it wouldn't hurt to do one more before the time of his exam would come walking in as he looked over the people present in the room, many of which he hadn't seen before nor did he recognise from walking around the village. Turning to face the teacher he greeted him.

"A pleasure to meet you I am Hyuuga Yukio, here in preparation for my ANBU in Training exam, can't hurt to learn a bit more before hand"

Giving the rest in the room a nod as he made his way through the room, he thought how the name of the lesson was rather similar to the first one he had taken for all it being under a slightly different name and being taught by an ANBU captain it would no doubt give him an edge in the upcoming exam. Walking up to Shiori he took a seat next to him, being the only person he could distinctly recognise in the room.

"It's been a while Shiori far too long in fact haven't seen you since the first class we did, feels like so long ago"

Leaning on the desk and waiting for the class to start his curiosity peaked from time to time looking over the rest of the people there, hopefully he would be able to speak to a few of them at some point and discover who they actually were rather than feeling like he was in a room full of strangers as he turned and Whispered to Shiori.

"Do you know anyone else here?"

Normally the idea of heading to class on such a fine day was absolutely uncanny for her. To think she was free to travel the village and be assigned duties to aid in ordinary life, and she chose to return herself to the uncomfortable wooden seats within the academy. A soft sigh escaped her parted lips, hands being placed at her center mass as she surveyed the active classes on the board. One of them stood out to her, forcing a sense of requirement over her psyche. Shifting in place before setting her decision in stone, she'd shuffle down the corridor near by in search of the allocated room.

After a few minutes she'd take note of several students slipping neatly into a room of ahead, her destination. With an impartial shrug and series of steps, Nyura found herself stand within the frame, gazing intently at the inhabitants within. Lowering her head in respect to her instructor at the front of the class, she hoped to set an example and ideal first impressions before meandering to her seat. Choosing a desk near the entrance, though not at the front, a set of slender fingers plucked a booklet from her bag. Setting it before her, and equipping a writing utensil, she'd jot her name and the date upon the top of the page. Her tongue prodded at the interior of her cheek, patiently awaiting the final students to arrive.

Slowly walking through the academy, Miyuki felt a growing anxiety within her. She came her to attend a class but she suddenly began to think of everything that could go wrong. She didn't know anyone here, so she would have no one to talk to and she didn't feel that capable in general but that was just her being nervous. Usually, she wasn't the nervous type, she just didn't like not knowing anyone at all, that was a new experience for her but it would help her perhaps make new friends.

She stumbled across the class board and began to scan it, looking over all the different class that were currently on. Upon closer inspection, she noticed one she thought seemed interesting enough and decided she'd make her way towards that classroom. Upon arriving at the door, she frowned and let her eyes wander down, staring at her feet now. As if bolted in place, she couldn't summon enough courage to open the door to whatever awaited her inside. "Oh, it can't be that bad, right?" she thought to herself. Eventually, she built enough nerve to open the door and step in, noticing all the students that were already there. The only thing that bewildered her was the teacher sat at the front, with his green hair.
She didn't want to seem weird and get judged, so without saying a word, she took a seat trying to position herself as far away from other people as possible. Which defeated the whole point of trying to meet new people. She tied her hair up as she hadn't done it beforehand and patiently waited.

Getting a little bit of freedom again, Kiri couldn’t help but be thankful. Needless to say, had Junko never appeared that day, things would be different now. But while under the supervision of Tsuyoshi Clan Head, he was told to make the most of his current predicament in Konoha, and as such, he was directed to go to the academy where he could possibly learn a thing or two. It wouldn’t hurt since he had been wanting to learn more about Leaf, but perhaps there were something else he could gain from this. Thus, walking up to the academy, he stopped along the bulletin board in the entrance to see which classes were interesting and one seemed to have struck him as ironic but nostalgic. A survival class after his ordeal wouldn’t be so bad.

Dressed in his dark coloured kimono and happi, Kiri would follow the guide map of the vicinity and find himself closing in towards the said room. All the while, he wondered how long it has been since he last step foot inside an academy. Ah, but then a memory of that night of rampage at Kumogakure’s Academy Grounds easily reminded him of his own failures. Frowning a bit, he would have to keep in mind that this was no longer Kumogakure, and whatever may be asked of him in this class could potentially reflect his village’s stances. As such, Kiri understood that he must be extra careful.

Entering the room, Kiri was a bit surprised to find the words written on the board, the title of ANBU Captain bringing back a recent memory along the gates. He smiled somehow before he turned to the man in question gave his most pleasant of smiles. He wasn’t trying to be cheesy or a sneak, but seeing how they were no longer in that high-tension scenario, there was no need to appear aggressive or apprehensive for that matter. Besides, now that he knew this man would be in-charge of the class, he couldn’t help but feel rather excited.

But before anything else, he remembered something and approached the man as he slipped a hand into his kimono to retrieve something. It was a small folded leathery object but he quickly opened it and presented to the said ANBU Captain and said, “I apologise for the lateness. I believe I owe you this.”
tvtim2p.png

It was none other than his passport, albeit temporary one, but it had been the issue that lead to that unwanted scenario by the gates. And now that he had shown it, he felt as though at least he could let go of past grievances. Hopefully, the other could too. “I hope you wouldn’t mind me joining in today’s class. You’re probably aware that I need to relearn a few things.” It wasn’t much of a joke, but with that recent incident, it may as well seem real.

But that wasn’t the only surprise, he’d come to understand. Looking at the assembled class, he was a bit taken by the number of people gathered. Certainly, he was used to a large crowd, especially with his training in the hospital and what not. Toxic work was always the deal. But he never thought standing, seemingly the last to enter the room, and to see everyone in class would feel rather awkward. Ah, perhaps it was because it had been a long time since his academy days and he felt a little embarrassed at being late.

So he nodded to the class’ direction before his eyes caught sight of Hoshi and he gave a brief wave and smile. He was about to approach one of the remaining empty chairs and sit when he realised he would have to introduce himself. So looked at everyone in the eye before speaking, “My name is,” ah, he remembered what was officially written in his passport and how he had recently been trying to reconcile with his vague past in this country, but, he figured it wouldn’t hurt, “… was Hasegawa Kiri, but please just call me Kiri. I’m from Kumogakure like my little brother over there.” he added with a quick wave towards Hoshi’s direction. “If anyone needs treatment, I’ll be sure to help you.”

And looking back to Takeshi, Kiri would add, “I hope to learn a lot today, Mr. ANBU Captain,” before taking his seat.

Takeshi sat there as one by one the students filed in, he allowed a small smirk to come to his lips as the final boy showed up. It seemed that he would have a busy class on his hands that much was sure with the turn out. As one by one they took their seats he gave a small grunt in reply to the showing of a passport.

Arrogant as ever it would seem his little beating hasn’t done anything to temper that side of him.

Takeshi made the mental note quickly before letting a big smile come to his lips as he looked at all the newer faced. He stood up though a twitch of pain had come to his lips as his ribs complained at the movement. Still not fully recovered he was better than he had been before he allowed his eyes to glance to each of them for a few minutes.

“Welcome to this class, as you know I am Takeshi Uchiha and will be your teacher for today, lets start things nice and easy and get to know everyone. In front, you will find a small booklet of tactics, ways to survive. We will be talking about this today.”

He took a small pause allowing the class mates to understand that he would be questioning them threw the lesson. He hoped that people would be willing to engage in this lesson or it would be one of those dull moments.

“So let’s start by going round the table in order of who turned up first, state your name. Your dreams, what you know so far and what you want to learn about. Once you have spoken sit down and go onto the next person, this is how today will work out”

He allowed himself to look at them before sitting down, taking up a note pad and pen preparing to write the responses. Though some people had already done introductions this was more about opening to their class mates. It would be a good experience for each of them to see what they wanted to focus on. As he waited for the replies of the class mates to figure out what to do.

Shiori nodded to Hoshi, a smile on his face. He remembered the cloud ninja from what seemed an age ago, their dangerous mission in the bowels of the nightclub like a dream.

Others filled in, unknown to Shiori. There seemed to be a glut of students and eager Genin at the moment, he reflected.

“It's been a while Shiori, far too long in fact. Haven't seen you since the first class we did, feels like so long ago."

Shiori turned to Yukio, smiling at his classmate. The new pale eyes stood out from the boy’s face, making him seem like a monochrome image, silver hair, pale skin, white eyes.

“It has, Yukio. You have certainly changed. I was hoping Megu and Hiro would turn up as well. ANBU must be keeping the three of you busy.” He kept the note of disappointment from his voice. He hadn’t seen much of his friends outside of work at Suo’s.

“The only other one I know is Hoshi, over there. The cloud ninja. We did a mission together a while back. Other than that, these people are all new to me. Looks like we’re in for a big turn out, eh?” Shiori smiled again at Yukio.

Eventually, all of the students filed in, including another cloud ninja, who presented a passport to the teacher. Shiori brushed the interaction aside. With the cloud ninja sat down, their teacher stood.

“Welcome to this class, as you know I am Takeshi Uchiha and will be your teacher for today, lets start things nice and easy and get to know everyone. In front, you will find a small booklet of tactics, ways to survive. We will be talking about this today.”

Shiori looked at the book in front of him, picking it up and flicking through the pages. It was filled with tactics for combat. He stopped flicking, and started reading. Ideas began to fill his head as he took in the lessons imparted by a couple of pages.

“So let’s start by going round the table in order of who turned up first, state your name. Your dreams, what you know so far and what you want to learn about. Once you have spoken sit down and go onto the next person, this is how today will work out”

With a start, looking up from the book, Shiori realised that meant he was the first to stand. Maybe punctuality wasn’t such a great trait. He rose, placing the book on top of his partially smoothed papers, feeling very ragged next to the other shinobi in their far finer clothing.

“My name is Hiyasu Shiori. I hope to be a great ninja someday, so that way I can pay back Konohagakure for taking in myself and my family from the Moon Country. My knowledge on survival and tactics is more related to campfire cooking and one-on-one fighting than anything else. I would like to learn more survival skills around making shelter, and how to use the environment in combat.” Shiori nodded, as if to himself, then sat back down.

Wanting to be a great ninja was true. Paying back Konohagakure was part of it, a large part of it.

After Hoshi sat down another well dressed student walked in with a top knot. He sat down rather close to Hoshi and introduced himself. His name sounded of a different origin and Hoshi took a mental note. Once the boy sat down, his tapping finger would stop as he'd nod a greeting to the young man. Then, a familiar face from the training grounds entered, he was rather quiet and just took a seat. Hoshi almost jumped seeing a fellow Hyuuga walk in after.

The Hyuuga walked over to Shiori and they exchanged some words. Hoshi could tell they were friends, or at least knew each other. Yukio also introduced himself as an anbu in training. Yukio was followed by so quiet girls, short of introductions only moving to take a seat. Hoshi reckoned his own thinking that was the last. He sighed, never in Kumo had he attended a class so large, about survival at that. And then... Kiri waltzed in.

He gave a passport to the captain, which proved Hoshi's suspiciousness of who Kiri fought, which is now his teacher. Hoshi cringed at the interaction, Kiri also selected some words that could be misinterpreted as him responding arrogantly to what happened. He then singled Hoshi out by calling him little brother, and adding in a petition to help if needed. Hoshi sighed and palmed his face, shaking his head.

Takeshi then introduced the class, pointing out the booklet in front of him. Hoshi, thumbed through it, skimming past the pages, it was a basic survival guide. Hoshi nodded at the readings and closed the book, slid it back to its original position and gazed at Takeshi once more. He instructed everyone to introduce themselves, and Shiori was first, meaning he was second.

After Shiori finished his intro Hoshi would rise. He coughed into his right hand and cleared his throat. Before he spoke gazed around the large room full of students as gulped. He didn't want to be judged by a foreign nation, so he was hesitant in giving his answer.

"I-I am, Hoshi Shouyu, a member of the branch Hyuuga family. I dream to be the best Shinobi that Kumo has seen. I want to one day be the sentinel of the village. First line of defense. Kumo is Protect! I am proficient in tracking, stealth, hunting and cooking, distilling water, and self defense... From this class, I am seeking to learn anything new."

Almost as quickly as his interest had been peaked, the figure he had chosen to sit next to had ceased all indications of being interesting at all. Not only did he stop providing that unending source of energy that seemed to fuel his nervous twitch, he just up and left his seat to approach some other new entrant to the room. It was quite off putting, from an observational stance, and rather dull from a view of keeping himself entertained. Letting the corner of his mouth curl down into a frown, he leveled his gaze at the people that seemed to be filling in after he had sat down.

There were few things to catch his attention, the normal assortment of students and those receiving continuing education like himself. That he had heard the ANBU title being tossed around more than once was of particular interest, but that had been the reason he was drawn into the room in the first place. It seemed of little purpose to follow such a lead after it had already gotten him so far. No... he remained in his seat, now removed from the first point of curiosity and casually waited for someone else to fill that spot before the class began.

With his arms folded into the massive sleeves of his hanbok, he was little more than a frame of cloth and hair when the Cloud ninja strolled in. At first glance, there was nothing about the figure that would have made him stand out to Yeong. Approaching the teacher's desk was something every student he had witnessed after him do as well, no, it was the familiarity and reproachful nature that he displayed that drew his eye. He watched the exchange carefully and in silence before the figure introduced himself. There was some small sense of disappointment to be felt with the discovery that his first object of interest was related to his second, but not enough that he would be forced to reconsider his initial attentiveness.

“Welcome to this class, as you know I am Takeshi Uchiha and will be your teacher for today, lets start things nice and easy and get to know everyone. In front, you will find a small booklet of tactics, ways to survive. We will be talking about this today. So let’s start...”

With the first call for attention by the teacher, he returned his attention to the front and remained attentive to hearing everything that was being said. That is until the mention of a booklet was brought forth. If there was anything he might consider of a personal weakness, it was wanting to read information placed before him at the cost of his attention. Pulling out the pamphlet, he read everything on the front before the teacher could even finish what the lesson plan was. There was always more to be known about a thing than just the words on the page, there were inferences to be made... the words chosen in the title and who wrote it might help him garner a further understanding of their points of view on the materials contained therein.

Even as he opened the pamphlet to its first page, movement out of the corner of his eye distracted him from his newest prize. An introduction, given to the entire classroom. He cursed himself inwardly, he had made a mistake and missed some sort of instruction that had clearly been made and now was left to wonder. Absently he nodded as the boy named Shiori talked, not in understanding of the boy's thoughts and feelings but in a mental note taking of the things he was talking about. Surely he could decipher what the goal of the introduction was by those who spoke before him.

Moving his eyes expectantly to the next chair in the U-shaped line, he awaited the next introduction. He almost coughed in surprise when the next voice came from elsewhere in the line. They weren't going in order!? What was this? A voluntary system based on who wanted to go next? No, that couldn't be the case, no one else seemed to be chomping at the bit to go next. He heard the name of the next student but drowned out his remaining words in panic, not quite understanding the order everyone was going in. His fear of saying the wrong thing was quickly supplanted by the fear of making a fool of himself if everyone either waited on him or he spoke out of turn. He could feel his skin start to burn red as his heart thrummed in his chest.

Pulling his arms from his sleeves, he waited precious moments after the last boy stopped speaking and sat down. Placing a hand on the table before him, he moved slowly and as if with purpose. In reality, he was waiting to see if anyone else was making a move to stand up and speak. If they did, he would have quickly moved to pick up his pamphlet as though it was his intention all along. Otherwise, he stood in a manner that suggested that every move he made was slow and calculated. Without anyone else interupting him, and at least two sets of eyes turned his way, he rose to his feet.

"My name is Yeong Su Han..." He bowed graciously, turning at the waist to regard every student and the teacher with the show of respect. As his head dipped low, he considered whether or not he should share of his family troubles or where he currently resided. As he raised to stand back at attention, he clasped his hands in the sleeves of his hanbok once more and choose simply to imitate the words he had heard at least twice before. "I desire to be a greater ninja than those that came before me. To that end, I wish to further myself past what I knew the day before." Sitting back in his seat, he hoped that would serve enough to pass the teachers expectations.

Barely noticing anyone else come into the room the boy pulled out one of his scrolls and began to read. The small scroll, less than a foot tall, was sealed by a blue thread that held a talisman that appeared to resemble water. The boys eyes would wander through the scroll learning the secrets of the styles of Ninjutsu that was studied by those with an affinity to water. He was currently learning to distinguish the types of elemental chakra based solely on their basic attributes. Such as the smoothness of water chakra, or the sheer strength of the chakra resembling earthen power. Regardless of his studies he know that his chakra did not resemble and of the five, therefore it had to be something else. As the boy became more and more into his reading the temperature in the room slowly and subtly dropped in temperature by just a few degrees. Nothing too noticeable by the average villager but perhaps the fellow students would detect his unconscious action.

He snapped his attention back to the room. The temperature had probably only dropped a degree or two, but his attention wasn't as strong as it was before. Becoming more aware of his surroundings heel realized there were more people in the class than he originally thought would be. He looked st the booklet before him as he rolled and tied his scroll shut and storing it away. He had met Takeshi prior ti this class bit to long ago, but he would not let what happened then affect his situation now, similar to how he didn't give the Cloud Ninja from before any extra attention.

His intent was not to be rude or off putting but his cold nature was just a force of habit as he took after his mother and she, to say the least, was not a people person. He looked at the first boy to introduce himself.

Shiori. He wanted to try and take note of this name as he would like to make friends, regardless of how difficult that may be. The boys answer was in regards of the subject matter at hand even though the teachers question was rather vague. "What you know so far?" Hisame already decided that the vague question deserved a vague answer.

Shouyu. The ninja from Kumo, and that's all he seemed to be. This for Kimi and that for Kumo, perhaps he would be canon-fodder, or maybe he would work the system and hit a higher rank. Either way he seemed cliché, as awful as that was to think. This was one of the many reasons Hisame didn't have friends. Another class related answer, the boybket out a sigh.

Yeonh Su Han. He seemed different, the structure of his name made it difficult to know which is his family name and which is given. He didn't seem to be paying attention but his answer was vague, probably unintentional. Nevertheless it was now his turn for introduction.

Hisame stood up and raised his right hand. A pulse of chakra was sent to his fingers as he began to speak.

"My name is Hisame."

His open and began to clench into a fist and as it did snowflakes began to flutter around his hand. The spiraling snowflakes seemed to condense into senbon made of solid ice that rested between his fingers.

"I know a few things, but not enough..."

Opening his hand once more the ice shattered dissipating back into the air and moisture already present in the room. Taking his seat again he felt as if his answer was satisfactory to the question. His dream though, that he kept to himself as it did not regard any of those in this room with him.

Yukio looks to Hoshi taking a bit more time to take in his features as Shiori mentioned his name, it wasn't unusual for those of other villages to visit nor was it really out of the ordinary for them to take lesson and mingle with those of the other villages. As the remaining students filed into the classroom he had to agree with Shiori's statement, more than a few notable individuals had arrived in class raising an eyebrow in curiosity as Kiri handed something to the teacher.

"Yeah quite the turnout to say the least. I wasn't expecting so many people to turn up to a lesson like this."

As he spoke to Shiori he heard Takeshi speak, quickly making himself silent to hear what he had to say, Introductions, it only made sense there was so many of them here that getting to know each other was a given at this point. He gave each person in the room equal attention as they spoke hearing there reasons for being here and what they were trying to accomplish on the road of the ninja. Smiling as he remembered his first day here doing much the same thing.

That was something he did a lot these days memories of a time before the start of his path down the ANBU branches ranks. it was certainly pleasant seeing that if he was remembering a time before he had already become used to his new role and accepted what he wanted to be in the future, as he turn to speak to round he stretched his shoulders as he stood up.

"My name is Hyuuga Yukio, My dream is to make sure I spend every day becoming as strong as I can be so I can keep advancing through the ranks of the ANBU branch in order to protect the village"

He saw no need to explain any more than that, sitting back down and returning his head and hand to its leaning position as he waited for the next person to speak.

There is a prolonged silence as she doodles in her booklet, soon after quirking her head up and giving a sharp gaze towards Yukio who had just finished speaking. Raising from her seat, and intending to be prompt with her reply in front of the class, as to not embarrass herself further she'd give a small wave to the audience.

"Hello everyone, I am Katawa Nyura. I'm glad I am able to attend this class, and hope to utilize these lessons along side my fellow shinobi in the future."

Upon finishing this short monologue, she'd give a respectful bow to the instructor at the front. Her intentions were not clear to those in the room, not yet, but her aspirations were akin to the Hyuuga who had spoken before her. The amount of dedication and skill required to become a member of the organization was immense, but despite her recluse nature around a crowd, she knew that the potential was present. These aspirations had driven her for several years, but it had taken her this long to truly dedicate herself to the cause; the thought was daunting. But none the less she intended to brave the unknown to save the familiar. Drawing a hand upward to brush her bangs to the side and behind her ear, Nyura brought her posture down to her seat and sealed her lips, eyeing the crowd around her for a moment as if suffering from a subtle anxiety until the next participant spoke.

Everyone spoke of their ambitions like it was nothing new to them, people wanting to protect the village, people wanting to get stronger and other people who just wished to go forward. Was it really that simple, though? Ever since the incident with her sister, her drive to have crazy ambitions died off. She didn't live because she wanted to become the strongest person in the world nor did she want to be able to protect anything, she simply desired to carry on her sister's ambitions instead. An empty shell carrying the soul of another. But, she thought about what everyone wanted and began to think to herself. Trying to convince herself that maybe having dreams of her own wouldn't be a bad idea and maybe she could find a place in the world once again where she'd have the will to live properly.

The group of people had nearly all said their introduction, it just slowly ticked its way towards Miyuki who was very nervous about it. She froze at the door before coming in and that was before people were even looking at her. Hopefully it wouldn't be the same in this case. Though, if it did, she'd probably feel very embarrassed.

"Hello everyone, I am Katawa Nyura. I'm glad I am able to attend this class, and hope to utilize these lessons along side my fellow shinobi in the future."

The last student finally spoke that was before Miyuki and then sat down. Now it was Miyuki's turn and she was beyond anxious at this point. She gulped and then forced herself up right, so that she was standing. After a few seconds of awkwardly glancing around at people, she let the first few words slip out.
"H-hi. I'm Miyuki Keiko. " then she paused, took a deep breath and continued. "I have two dreams. One is to carry on the ambitions of someone who was close to me and the second is to find a place in this world. Whether that be by becoming tough or by researching to the point where I'm noticed." she stopped once more. "Yikes, everyone gave simple answers... I know my dreams are not as simple as how easy I'm making it sound..." she pondered to herself. After the miniscule pause, she finally finished. "As for what I do and don't know... I don't know very much at all." Sitting down after bowing, she covered her face with her hands and sighed lightly. For someone so nervous, she let herself rant away so easily. Remaining embarrassed, she continued to cup her face in her hands.

Kiri was certain to notice that tiny spark in the instructor’s eyes. Guess he’ll have to be a little more low profile in this class then, in order to get through the day without having to get scolded again. That wasn’t to say that he was one to get into trouble a lot. But he supposed his untimely entrance to the country, and the events that followed had been the culprit of it all. Oh, perhaps his words– he had never been good with direct communication before, always wearing his heart on his sleeves and speaking what his thoughts were, which could be an asset in the medical field, but Osu did tell him a few times that he needed to work on it. His beast brother could very well attest to it. Nevertheless, he wanted to have a normal start, a fresh beginning of the sort, and simply make the most of it. The last thing he wanted was to drag down Junko into more trouble.

With the instructions from Mr. Takeshi Uchiha, done, he wondered what would be his appropriate response. He hadn’t thought much about this for a long time. Indeed, it was bringing back nostalgic memories, and a bit of recent ones. His dreams have changes through the years and experiences with other people. He was mostly shaped by the environment he lived in– from his dangerous predatory state, to a studious bookworm, and to his current self on the long road of redemption– but still his personality would always get in the way, he supposed.

For the moment, he took a look at the booklet in front of him and flipped the pages, his inner bookworm self seemingly eager to just jump into and finish reading the entire thing before anything else. That’s probably something he learned from his days of reading medical journals, expected to finish a dozen and a chapter from the large tome of Osu’s only to be questioned about the specifics the next day. Ah… those sleepless nights felt so nostalgic but he somehow missed them. He really wanted to go back and show Osu his growth but at the moment, he knew there was still a lot to improve on.

He made sure not to lose himself into the book when the introductions began, glancing at the speakers as he paid close attention. Shiori, the first one seemed rather young but also quite the eager one. Somehow he felt a little inclined towards the kid, probably because they were both being strangers welcomed into their respective villages. The next was Hoshi and Kiri smiled, stifling a chuckle at the boy’s nervous start, and boy was he almost laughing at that motto of theirs being so proudly spoken. He didn’t really hate it, but to hear Hoshi speak it was sort of smile-inducing, oh but he was waiting for that one speech of his about becoming the next Raikage, and it didn’t happen.

The third one was rather interesting, probably because of his foreign-like name. Oh well, everyone was foreign to him, but his speech to become the very best was rather… generic for those of his age, but to say it proudly was rather noteworthy. Still, his answer was vague and Kiri couldn’t help but wonder if the boy was a bit nervous about all of this. Probably thinking too hard along the lines of “what is the proper answer to the teacher’s question, what is a sufficient answer, what is expected of him to speak” and so on. He could understand the anxiety as it was something that he had to deal with when answering Osu during their oral quizzes about medical terms and diagnosis, but he didn’t think one would feel the same burden for something like an introduction. Oh wait– he did. In fact, if he didn’t fumble with the introduction at the gates, his entire scenario would not have led him to the trouble he has caused in Konoha.

The fourth one was rather meek and to the point. Kiri raised a brow at the name before staring at Hoshi, trying to see if the other reacted to the clan name of Hyuuga. He knew Hoshi was a Hyuuga, and that a part of his past was something undesirable hence he doesn’t use the Hyuuga name, but he wondered if the two had met prior. Would this chance-meeting actually leave an impression of his lil bro? The next one was a rather timid girl, seemingly lost in her own drawing before she perked up and introduced herself. Rather bright and cheery, if Kiri were to assess her. But it was clear that most of them spoke of vague dreams, even the last one before him. Having to carry-on another’s dream only meant that they may not know exactly what they want yet, hiding under the shadow of another. He, at the very least, gave a smile and nod to the last girl who seemed rather nervous about it.

And soon enough, it was his turn. He first shot a glance at Hoshi before looking at the teacher and then stood. He would face the rest of the class and gave a brief courtesy bow before speaking. “As I said earlier, please call me Kiri. I’m from Kumogakure and my dreams vary from time to time. Prior to my arrival in Leaf, I did not care so much about my clan, but upon arriving, my interest is rather piqued at the different clans in Leaf, so that goes for my history-hungry dream. But that’s merely a short-term. My long term goal is to end all sufferings and injustices. Quite vague, I know. But for now, I’m settling with making sure I’m a mednin for all, be they be enemies or allies, it is the risk and the responsibility of a doctor to treat his patients.”

He was about to sit when he remembered that last bit of introduction he forgot and continued. “Ahhh… right. Well, I fairly know a bit about surviving on my own– a predator’s life, really. But that could only take me so far. Hence, it would be very nice to learn more without having to resort to use my strength alone.” He nods again, “That’s all,” before he sits down.

Takeshi listened to each of them speak for a few minutes, as he pondered the words and tried to gauge the reactions of everyone. Smiling in turn to each student that turned up he was welcoming that much was for sure. As he listened intently they all seemed to have that dream of becoming such a famous shinobi. It would change as time passed on he knew that much, but it was admirable to have those goals at their age. A few of them he had known in passing from previous lessons. Others well he had sent to the hospital before allowing the fight to end in a horrible manner.

Takeshi allowed himself to place his hands together resting his chin on his hands as he allowed the last person to speak. Nodding to each of them showing an understand he allowed himself to bring out a card on a stick under his desk. Each student would find a simple card exactly the same under their own desk when he instructed them to look.

“Let’s start easily and look at the way people change opinion, this part remembers there is no right or wrong answer you will just have your own opinion. Please look under your desk and take this sign out, one side says yes, the other no. I will ask questions and you say yes or no depending on what you believe is the correct answer”

He was quite persuasive and at least he told them the truth that this section of the lesson would have no right or wrong answer. As he drew the list of questions that he had he smiled at the class and slowly began to say the questions.

“Ok, these are the following seven questions, short and simple”

“1. A Shinobi must survive on his own all the time”
“2. Assisting civilians is not advice while on a mission”
“3. We fight regardless of the situation if we encounter another village shinobi”
“4. Killing the enemy is the only way to survive”
“5. We must take supplies when on a mission”
“6. We cannot provide food for ourselves out in the wilderness”
“7. Failure is not an option for a Shinobi”
“8. If you lose a fight, death is the only option”

Weird how that worked out, eight questions and eight students, it was almost like the Teacher had planned this all along. As he would wait for an answer it was soon becoming clear that he would target each of them to speak out. He hated people keeping themselves to themselves. Teamwork was how he managed to survive for so long and he would be damnd if he just let them sit in silence. As each student answered the full eight questions, he would pick them in order of entry once more and ask a simple question.

“Why did you decided to answer with that choice?”

Easy enough but being put under pressure could really throw people off the trail if they were not prepared for it. After all he had to judge their ability to think quickly and calmly.

[OCR: In post order, you have to explain why you picked the answer for the question. Good luck]

As the first to answer, Shiori was able to listen to everyone else introduce themselves. Many here wanted to be great ninja, it seems. Some tried to keep their goals obscured. It meant little to him, he supposed. But he tried to remember who had said what. He may end up working with these people some day as a shinobi, and any information would help ensuring the best outcome. He noticed the room had become slightly colder. Maybe the ninja that summoned a needle of ice’s doing?

Pamphlets on the table? Cards under the seats? So many props for a lesson! It kept them active and engaged, Shiori supposed, flipping the card over and over in his hands. As Takeshi laid out the rules to this particular exercise, he put the card back down on the table. He would have to state why he answered the first question the way he did. Again, it would be scrutiny under the group, and very telling about his own views. They would all be giving up a little bit more about themselves, it seemed.

“Ok, these are the following eight questions, short and simple.”

Shiori picked up his card.

“1. A Shinobi must survive on his own all the time”

Takeshi led with a tough question. Being a ninja was about teamwork. Most missions were undertaken by a group of three ninja. Therefore, a shinobi did not have to survive on his own all the time. However, when great ninja were remembered, they were rarely remembered as a team, but a single, towering individual. The achievements of the individual meant more in the view of the public than the team. To many, a shinobi would therefore be individually accountable. Shiori wanted to be the best. That meant being alone, above the others.

Shiori turned his card.

“No. As shinobi, we work together towards a mission, and as a village, we work together to protect ourselves and our way of life. A shinobi doesn’t have to survive on his own all the time. We exist as an entity, even the ANBU are a group.”

Sounded good enough, Shiori thought.

“2. Assisting civilians is not advisable while on a mission”

YES. The mission was of importance. If they are secondary to it, they should take secondary importance.

“3. We fight regardless of the situation if we encounter another village shinobi”

NO. Politics exist. Konoha and Kumo were in an alliance at the moment, proven by the two cloud ninja in attendance. Shiori would prefer the fight, however.

“4. Killing the enemy is the only way to survive”

NO. Again, the world they lived in was ruled by politics and talk more than fighting now. Konoha had managed to survive not by only killing enemies, but forging friendships with former enemies.

“5. We must take supplies when on a mission”

YES. Forage alone cannot sustain someone.

“6. We cannot provide food for ourselves out in the wilderness”

Simple, Shiori had managed cooking in the forest on a simple mission. NO.

“7. Failure is not an option for a Shinobi”

NO. Once committed to a task, a ninja should never fail. Anything should be done to prosecute the mission, to show your worthiness to undertake such tasks.

“8. If you lose a fight, death is the only option”

NO. Surrender was normally an option. Besides, many enemies could have useful intelligence. Also, if death was the only option, there would be no room for sparring, and thus improving.

The questions over, Shiori began thinking over how the others had answered their own individual questions. They were an interesting and diverse group.
