Sarunishi was wrapped nearly from head to toe in linens so that his body could be somewhat preserved. The heat didn't bother him so much as at this point he wanted to go about relatively unseen. From his experience, at least in the distant past, they'd wrap themselves to beat the heat. Counter productive at times, but they used light clothes that breathed amongst other various methods. Given that he was a relatively unknown entity, lest people really, really did their research on old empires, Sarunishi would be free from prying eyes and the world. Additionally, he didn't use chakra to augment his form which meant that he'd be less likely to be perceived as devious upon entrance to a village. Happily, Sarunishi moved through the blistering heat and into a sandstorm. They were dangerous, but his body was harder than diamond these days. He had no fear of sandstorms. Only sandworms frightened him and they were less of a myth than himself.
