Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It wasn’t fair, but life was never fair. Kiri braced himself as he found himself battered and hit by a multitude of lightning charged attacks. The energy surged around him, stinging and lingering along his skin and bones. It felt like it seeped straight into his bloodstream and he found himself crashing into the ground. It was at that moment when his entire visage would be engulfed in darkness and the world around them followed suit.

Hidden in the shadows now, Kiri would find comfort and solace in the shadows as the rest of those around him would be lost in the shadowy dome. And it was there when he noticed that Yukio had followed him all along and gotten himself into the midst of the battle. A part of him worried that he may end up hurting his ally, but such worry would be lost on him as he remembered his own confidence. In this shadow dome, they would all be targets, but he was quite certain that he would not harm Yukio.

Moving in the shadows, he whispered right behind Yukio, “Stay clear from us. Keep to your targets.” Then he moved past him, avoiding the attack of Rin. Though he was hurt badly from the previous attacks, he was still ready and rearing to go. Eyes on both, whom were not aware of his presence, Kiri prepared for the next. The rest of the shadows in the dome would begin to attack everyone except for Kiri and Yukio, slashing in intense power.

While that was there, Kiri pours another fill of chakra around him, infusing with his current shadowy figure. Then, he would put some distance from the two before aiming well, sending a surge of shadowy trails that strike from the darkness of the dome, rushing to hit Takeshi. The power was infused that with more chakra that it would be deadly upon strike.

And without waiting, Kiri would perform another jutsu, quickly gathering a power overhead within the shadow dome, flames slowly converting itself into black flames to hide in the shadowy dome before they begin to rain down at both Takeshi and Rin. And without waiting for a reaction, Kiri would begin to let his shadow shoot out once more to tag and hold on Takeshi’s body.

Takeshi noted the darkness that had crept over them in that split second, it was spine chilling at that moment in time that such things could come so quickly. Knowing full well that this fight was just about to get into the full swing of the matter. Though he had his opponent he was aware that his team was still hunting Yukio. It seemed that right now the matter of who would win this was up in arms. The clock was ticking as the fights were beginning to take place.

“Damn it, why did he have to make things go dark. I can’t see anyone else around….this makes things interesting.”

“I’m still around, even that idiot Kiri seems to be putting up a better fight this time. He seems to have grown up slightly since last time.”

“Indeed but please focus”

What would come next between the two higher Shinobi was a backwards and forwards of fire, lightning and anything they could throw at each other. Though in honesty right now neither could see how the other one was doing. With the clock still going down Takeshi kicked himself slightly, with the sight of Kiri he could probably take the boy out. But Yomi was still out there, and the simple objective of escape was working in the other teams favour.

“Thirty minutes left, I need to end this”

With that the Uchiha raised his hands to the sky lightning echoing as he summoned a thunder god to aid him in this fight, his last-ditch effort to end things before they got out of hand it seemed.

Yeong was out, there was no doubt about that. The blood on his face remained as if evidence of some vicious attack that had never happened. There were no cuts, no bruises or anything of that nature to explain where it had come from. That it was there was enough to discern the state of the boy who lay on the forest floor. His prized red binyeo fallen from his head, leaving his sprawled golden locks mingled with the dirt and detritus that covered the ground. His chosen blue hanbok looked a mess, seeming to have come undone in the front, exposing his upper chest in an unsightly manner.

Were that the extent of his future embarrassment, he would have been pleased to have retreated from the class with his tail between his legs. Not for nothing, but the girl he had encountered had chosen that moment to leave him a parting gift. Were he not so dazed by the encounter he had just received he might have reacted in some way. Some spark of recognition in his eyes at the explosive note he had spied earlier. Instead, all he was met with was the insatiable hunger of flame.

The fires licked at his outstretched arms as the ball of fire expanded to surround him. It was a weak trick meant to dissuade a pursuing shinobi from following, certainly it had not been planted with the expectation for its target to remain completely immobile beside it. Were Yeong conscious enough to feel the pain burning its way over his hanbok, destroying it fiber by fiber as it fused to the skin beneath it, he certainly would have repeated an equally loud cry of shock.

But Yeong was out, there was no doubt about that. It was only due to the expert training of his fellow classmates that prevented his undoubted death at the hands of the fire. The tiny lavender eyed girl only formed a base shadow over his consciousness, "Hey, wake up. You're good now," echoed in the back of his head before everything went completely black. The pills forced down his throat would no doubt do their job, but even as bad as the burns to his arms may have looked... the real damage had been done in places no one could see.

It seemed that everything she had done, including giving Han Health Pills and entering a defensive posture was all in her head as none of it apparently happened. Kaori shook her head, trying to snap out of whatever dream-world she was in and zoned back in, looking over Han, the boy she was there to lend assistance to. As Kaori broke out of her daze, however, she had gotten kicked a few times and then combo'd against by Yukio. She glared at the boy after picking herself off of the ground, feeling an obnoxious, sharp pain in her legs. "You think you're so tough, huh? How about we settle this after class, loser," she said as she slowly got more and more angry. Taking care of Han was her highest priority at the moment, but it was this annoying boy named Yukio that she had a bone to pick.

Clearing her throat, she shifting her hands into a group of handseals and performed a Genjutsu in Yukio's direction. This genjutsu should make him have the urge to get hit and get hit hard. This should make him more vulnerable to damage and even throw himself at the user for a chance to crit. Afterwards, Kaori immolated her fists in a divine blue flame in the shape of dragons. She quickly spun around and attempted to strike at Yukio once and then another time. Kaori was quite angry at the fact that Yukio decided to target her down so she would begin to unleash her frustrations on the boy before she outright challenges him to a duel afterward.

Was this Yukio's way of showing affection or was he a bully? The answer to the question may shock you!

Look at God(dess)! Prayer was a powerful tool. Yomi still had not been found and it was only by the grace of her benevolent Goddess that it was this way. Yomi knew that it was in everyone's best interest that she wasn't found anyway. For everyone's long term plans she would hope to not engage in a fight, friendly or otherwise, within the village walls. Certain things could not be helped, but, others she tried her best to control. Her Goddess, that is Rei, that is her, made it so it would not happen this day.

She had lost visual of her team but knew that at least if they were a little froggy and decided to engage their pursuers, that they would be protected a little longer by her good grace and wisdom. This had to be over soon. She felt that if she came out of hiding now, no one would be able to take her down within the time allotted, but, she knew better than to tempt a blessing from Rei. The rules were to avoid capture, evade, and stay hidden. While things never go as planned in the field on missions and things of the sort, in a semi-controlled environment, there was no need to stray too far from what was expected from the...teacher....of this class. She bet he was out looking for her himself. Too bad for him she was such a sneakity snake.

Her stomach growled loudly. She hoped no one was around to hear.

Yukio was distracted with Kaori. That was perfect. Shiori kept striking at him, not saying a word, only smiling. His body was flickering in and out of vision, other images of him were springing from nothingness to disappear again. Afterimages followed him, and illusions preceded him. He would take out Yukio’s arms. That would slow him down. He wouldn’t be able to fight back.

And be easy to catch, of course, Shiori remembered. This was only for capture, not a full fight. The thought was a fleeting one, though. Observed and quickly filed away.

From these images, Shiori sprang forth, stepping through space to end up next to the Hyuuga. He struck, hand coated in coruscating energy, slicing into the boy’s arm as he was distracted.

Yukio obviously felt the hit, but didn’t react. His eyes were only for Kaori. Shiori’s smile deepened. He had free reign! He could keep going on and on, it seemed the boy didn’t care about the opponent right in front of him. Even as the thought ended, Yukio dodged aside from another blow, those damned Byakugan able to see all. He used the movement of the strike to move around, ready for his next blows. Maybe not the arms this time… time was running out, and Kaori was getting back up. He would have 2 opponents to face. He would have to change his plan.

Kaori looked angry as well. Having fought her, he felt a flicker of sympathy for Yukio. Only a flicker, though.

As a succession of attacks rained around them, Kiri found himself a target once more. However, his preparedness would show as the darkness swallows him in an attempt to evade the said attack. And in the darkness, his attempt to attack Takeshi was cut short before he quickly shifted to shower a firestorm made of black flames, pouring relentlessly. However, the man was living up to his dangerous reputation, taking it by strides. His counterattack would then catch Kiri off guard, especially since it happened right when Kiri made himself known.

Unable to avoid the attack, Kiri was hit by a scorching jutsu, but only once before he managed to learn of the timing and he would dodge the next. However, the built-up wound would drag him down and he would find himself hit by a succession of fire. Crashing into the ground, coughing up blood, and seemingly beaten, Kiri would look up at he spotted that Rin coming towards him with a follow-up. Kiri's will would not allow him to falter and so he dodges the rest. Just in time, the medical ward placed on him by Yomi would activate and he finds himself unscathed by the one that got in.

Still, he would be pushed back and he rolls backward before finding his footing once more. Deep breaths escaped his lips but he quickly gathers his wits about him once more. Forming handseals, Kiri would take up his last stand.

The audible crackling of lightning alongside the whiplash of flames and wind from competing teams led her to maintain her position, hidden away within her covert location with a shōtō held firm in her grasp. Only shifting occasionally to survey her surroundings and maintain a scope on the scenario in the distance, which seemed to be clouded with a form of darkness. Eager to participate in the contest, she debated with herself whether or not to join in on the glory. Deciding that it may be unwise to place herself in harms way at the end of the trial, she brought her position to a steady posture, slightly arcing her blade upward in her crouched stance amongst the swaying foliage of the field. This posture was giving her a cramp and she felt the need to loosen her grasp, feeling as if she had succeeded after such a prolonged period of time. Steady in her demeanor, and unsure of whether or not the lesson was concluded she'd remain still and observant of her surroundings, awaiting a sign to returning to the meeting place.

This had been a truly eye-opening experience, showing that with the use of teamwork, sacrifice, and even acts of cowardice all played a part in war. Each shinobi played their role, and despite the fact she felt disassociated from the fray, she knew her objective was likely secured in her hands. This meant success for her team, but it was a burden she would have to bare. Perhaps if she had turned heel and faced off against the enemy, more could have survived? If she rose to the challenge and confronted the enemy head on alongside her companions would things have gone different? There were many questions that lurked and lingered within her mind as the final minutes of the class came to an end. As a way to assure herself of her decisions she spoke quietly, under her breath. "Survival 201..." she'd let out a soft scoff, shifting her eyes in a paranoid manner.

— Nyura waits for a signal to return, preparing to use a practiced Block if necessary.
— If she is caught off guard and struck, a small cloud of smoke becomes visible and her figure rapidly is identified to be nothing more then a rotted log thanks to Body Switch being used Reflexively.
— After a successful Body Switch she attempts to enter Stealth once again to complete her mission

Yukio knew his luck was going to run out soon, Shiori was already recovered from the sneak attack and kaori had already turned to face him regardless of how much of an assault he had layed into her, his plan had been to remove obvious threats from the field or at least distract them for a prolonged period of time and considering how quickly she had found them he could only assume the girls eyes were very sharp.

"Not good I'm running out of time here, I can't take both on at once but I expected that to begin with."

Continuing to stand his ground Yukio brought his hands together to prepare to meet the counter-attack by the two students remembering the medical seal Yomi had given him he had a chance no matter how small to turn the tide if he needed to, hopefully it wouldn't come to that.

As shards of mirrors began to form around him he was dedicated to making a stand at this point, no guts no glory was pretty much the motto to go by at this point. Hearing Kaori speak as he prepared himself he raised an eyebrow.

"How rude, i'm simply being tactical as for the loser i guess I'm just teaching you some manners."

It was a boast to be sure but a taunt was a taunt and felt good to say but he was interested to see how a fight between the two would go but that was something to speak about after their current bout, simply nodding to her in response to the question.

Takeshi allowed his hands to come together once more, it was clear that Kiri was going to fight until the end, but that was fine. Everyone worked differently that much was true. But it seemed one team was coming out on top. Though the side that was fighting was fifty-fifty at that moment it seemed that the evasion team had allowed a few of their team to just disappear into the night. That was it they had gone completely from this sight of the others, and with time almost up it was over. Even Takeshi could figure that one out.

“It seemed that they managed to get the job done”

“Agreed, annoying as it is Rin it looks like they managed to get away from the capture team”

“Aye, besides lets rest, I’m tired of fighting Kiri. It’s getting boring still”

Takeshi allowed his hands to come up once more smashing out with fire that was signature for someone of the Uchiha clan. As the eruptions continued to go back and forth between the two higher level shinobi it was clear they had stopped holding back against each other and wanted to see it threw to the end. Takeshi jumped back from the fighting for a second, as his watched went off making it clear that the capture team had failed in their duty. This was mainly because it was timed so much and of course the hiders in the group had escaped.

“Sorry Kiri, but I got to cut this short and see how it’s going. I apologize but that’s the end of the time limit”

Takeshi allowed his hands to come together as he pointed to the sky a green signal flare went up, this would easily been see by all involved in the lesson. As the flare went up Takeshi turned back to where Kiri was as he allowed his eyes to make contact at that second. Turning around he walked away from Kiri leaving him in the situation.

“Rin, see if Kiri needs a help getting back, if he does help him back. If not then check on the other students, those KOed drag them back.”

“You have such a way with words Uchiha”

Takeshi walked back to the field ready to greet those that would come back, pondering how well the others did wondering who would turn up together or who would be alone and unscathed.

She formed handseals for Genjutsu and they missed, because why not. She then got peppered with shards of glass and by the grace of the Great Dragon, she finally hit something. This wasn't something that she had expected! She thought the gods responsible for battle wouldn't favor one that was still new to it, but would send brashly written letters to her about her lack of experience without any help. After all, what is a lesson without learning something right? Then again, what exactly did she learn in this lesson? Well, she didn't quite learn a thing in this lesson other than getting her ass beat for no real reason. Perhaps this was a lesson in fruitless battles where she was just told to do something and followed directions for no apparent reason. The scenario didn't lend itself to any real reason other than 'do this'. So perhaps this was a lesson in following directions.

The sound of signal flares popped in the sky, somehow seeing them through the thick canopy of the forest. Was this time for them to stop? They weren't told to stop at the sound of the signal flare or even if they could see the signal flare (through the thick foliage in the forest). If the signal flare was set off within the forest, everyone better grab their buckets of water to extinguish the inevitable fire that the extremely hot flares would cause to the forest. But logic didn't seem to apply as apparently everyone (or maybe most, who knows) would come to a stop and take the loud popping sound as a signal to return to whence they came. At least in Kaori's mind, this sounded more like a gunshot rather than a signal flare, which was good enough of a signal to stop what they were doing and return.

She scowled at Yukio as his shards of glass left her looking like minced hamburger meat. She popped a couple Health Pills to try to close the wounds and fix her little handicap problem, munching away at the pills with a sign of disgust. It might taste like death, but it stops her from dying. "We're definitely going to have to square off after this one," she said as she flung some of her lavender hair out of her face and then turned to look to Shiori. "We've got a man down, I'm gonna go pick him up. I'll see you at the gathering point, okay?" she said as she smiled at the boy and walked over towards Han and placed two fingers upon his throat. She felt a pulse, which was reassuring.

She bent over to pick the boy up onto her shoulders and struggled a bit. "What do you eat, man?" she said before, with a loud grunt, pick the boy up over her shoulders and started her way towards the gathering point for the debriefing. She shook Han as she carried him. "Time to wake up, dude," she said in her attempt to stir him awake. She continued to move towards the gathering point, at a much slower pace than usual due to her injuries incurred by yet another shinobi who can't seem to hold himself back. One of these days, she's probably gonna die of her injuries because people can't seem to hold back.

"If you don't wake up, I'll take you to the hospital right afterward and they'll poke many, many needles into you," she said in a mischievous manner, finally arriving to the gathering point. albeit most-likely later than everyone else due to nursing her injury and helping out a downed member.

A flare went up. What was this signal for? They weren't told that a signal flare would go up to signify something. Was this a ruse to flush those still hiding out? At this point Yomi didn't care she was hangry and she wanted to get from out of here. The better part of her told her to stay hidden and make her way back to the entrance of the forest, so she did. She did not come from hiding until the very last moment when she approached the open field. She waited until the rest of them gathered before she would depart to find out the results of this class.

Shiori’s body moved around unnaturally, after images flickering in and out of existence as strikes landed. Not all of them hit, but enough did. He had hoped to do more damage, but he supposed breaking a limb would be going too far. But he wanted to win. At any cost.

Yukio was entirely focussed on Kaori. Shiori should have been able to use that to his advantage somehow, but he wasn’t thinking properly. He was focussed simply on getting the hits in, rather than planning tactically. Kaori took the brunt of the damage. Shiori got away without even a scratch. Kaori must have done something to offend the Hyuuga, Shiori supposed as he kept moving around Yukio, throwing shoddier and shoddier punches.

Whilst he had gotten faster, he tired pretty quickly. He would have to step back soon. But this opportunity for free attacks was too much to simply let go.

Even though she was taking all the punishment, Kaori managed to get a solid hit in, using the same moves she had used against Shiori during their sparring. It certainly packed a punch, and Yukio couldn’t dodge everything. Just because you can see where hits are coming from doesn’t mean you can escape them all. Yukio was answering with his mirror based jutsu, shards puncturing Kaori, leaving great messes of blood. She was getting more and more annoyed, he could see. The tide was turning in their favour.

A flash of light, followed by the sound of the flare being launched, caught everyone’s attention. He watched the light slowly descend, dimming as it did so, still able to pierce the mist Shiori had created. He shrugged, the blade of energy in his hand dissipating with an odd tearing sound, as the mist also faded.

"We've got a man down, I'm gonna go pick him up. I'll see you at the gathering point, okay?"

Shiori nodded, strolling back towards the clearing.

A few more exchanges and then everything was over. Kiri tried his best to overwhelm Takeshi and Rin, but those two managed well. Instead, a roaring assault would find him, a multitude of them, and Kiri crashed into the ground with a painful thud. Bruised and cut, swelling and broken, it felt like one those survival fights. Ah, but that was the very intent of this class, right? It made sense that one should be pushed to the very brink. But even as he lay gasping, rasp breaths low and slow, he pushed himself to a kneel before concentration his chakra to a final salvo. Shadows about him begin to come to life as they raced forward in forms of deadly spikes that stop short of reaching Takeshi.

The chakra ended and the shadow disperses, along with the Shadow Dome, Kiri falling to the ground. He had lost. Barely keeping his eyes open, the blonde would smell the sent of the earth and the taste of blood. He could hear the conversation between Rin and Takeshi and so he was a bit glad that he was not truly unconscious. Perhaps, he was just naturally trying to regain composure. By the time he managed to open his eyes again, vision adjusting, Takeshi would apologise for the stoppage seeing how the class has now ended. He smirked knowing that perhaps the others have successfully gotten away.

Slowly, he would push himself to a sit, but no more. He was truly exhausted. He was still not used to how fight without his demon. And as the teacher said, he wouldn’t mind the help from Rin.

“And there I was… thinking I could finally get back at you guys,” said Kiri, sheepishly grinning before wincing at his bruised chest and then he rubbed it lightly with a pout, “You sure like to hit hard with your lightning. Well, let’s go back, shall we?”

Accepting the help from Rin, Kiri would be guided back to the starting point where the clearing would be. Hopefully, the rather talkative undead wouldn’t think of carrying him bridal style, or that would be a bit embarrassing.

Wondering how much time they had remaining Yukio sought to continue his efforts to take out the eyes of the pursuit team, it was somewhat easy to see that Kaori's eyes were somewhat similar to his own her fighting style and unusually precise ability to track them down pointing out they were somewhat the same.

Ignoring the punches he was receiving from Shiori, for the most part, he finally began to lose his cool deciding to unleash a volley of shards towards the girl seeing the blood spread which was more than enough to bring a smirk to his face quickly regaining his composure and coughing into his hand a moment as he thought to himself.

"now now, keep your head in the game this isn't over yet"

A bright flash would follow the most recent exchange of blows between the students as Yukio would tilt his head back seeing the flare in the direction they had come from, for all he hadn't been told it was more than obvious this was meant to tell them to return to the meeting point where the lesson started. He moved his gaze across Kaori and simply shrugged in response to her challenge turning to make his way back Curious as to how many of the evasion team had made it out in one piece.

Returning he saw a few were already making their way there, and most had made it back. Stretching his back and shoulders he sighed for all he had gained the upper hand the counter attack had still hurt all the same waiting for Takeshi to give them the results of the lesson as he kept stretching.

The woman didn't know what was taking Takeshi and the others so long to come back and she was tired of waiting. Her hunger developed into new level of intensity. Plus, if she was gone any longer she was sure Asuka would report her to the Hokage as missing. Yomi walked off from the clearing and headed home to eat and take a much needed bath.

Takeshi was already at the grounds that they had begun the day at. It seemed that things had gone ok to a certain extend that much was clear. Of course, right now he knew that they had just finished the lesson, wondering if they had taken anything from it or not would be a different matter. Everyone had to learn something themselves and today was no different, the group would slowly start to arrive and with each one he noted a name and how they considered his mind. Making sure that everything went to plan was key in this current matter.

“For everyone that participated today, I suggest you work on your skills, sometimes the best way to fight is to avoid it, other head on conflict will work. For those that need it go to the hospital. For those that are ok, go home and eat this lesson is over and done with, well done to each of you.”

Takeshi wasn’t about to teach them more than this lesson probably already had with that he turned onto his heels and walked away from the group. Knowing full well that a few of them probably still hated what had happened, but the learning here was how they fought. What they could do and what they needed to do to get stronger, it was a simple task and nothing more than that. Of course, though would they take it that way was up to each of them, he wasn’t about to hold their hands and walk them threw it.

The lesson had made sense to Yukio and for all they may have been better off escaping for the time allotted as a team in his mind his and Kiri's act as rear guard for the rest of the group had bought them the extra time needed to distract the pursuit team long enough for the lesson timer to run out, looking down to his clothes and tense joints and deciding it would be easier to go home than the hospital.

"Well thank you for the support during this time evasion team members I hope I shall see you around the village."

With that, he walked away from the group to return home and clean up
