Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Current Ninpocho Chronicles Time:

It was early. Before the sun would even think to rise in the morning that Souji would begin. He had a hot cup of Tea, in one hand and paperwork in the other. He had sent word to Lightning about the class he was running just to notify her if any students she knew needed another lesson. He heard that she had ran a class not long ago. So, she might have known by now if there were any more kiddies that wanted to learn about their history. Souji was sure that he was set to be running things here but he needed proper clearance. He was never one to go over anyone's head with his ideas. So, it was just a small file that he sent her way. He cleared a classroom on the bottom floor of the Academy flooring, they would not be in the classroom for long. He still needed to make sure they knew about the branch... and its newest extension.

Setting his tea on the desk as he entered the room. He wore an all black suit and slacks, no tie, but a dark pair of shades on. Well, they werent all that dark but the tint in the light given off the sun coming over the horizon was a looming dark color. At this point in time, there were no students even in the building, so it gave him time to setup his class... They would be in the proving grounds as well as here. There was a field activity he wanted to run and with that everything would be set up for this class...

A black king cobra set upon his shoulder. Three white spots covering the base of what could be known as the serpents neck. His shadow blade sheathed on his back crossed behind to show over his shoulders. And of course Souji couldnt come out the house without his gloves. He couldnt physically touch people without them being touched by his current internal emotions. He made sure to go to Kimi's home though the previous night to tell her about the class. Aside from posting it a few days prior... he was her mentor. He had to teach her about what she would be getting herself into. Especially with how things would be working their way into existence soon. "Souji... Is there anything you plan on doing with the children today? Something.... special~?, nodding the eldest of this generation of Yukata would speak quietly.

"Indeed my friend... You shall see... its why I summoned you today. I'll need your assistance.", nodding once again Souji would sit back in his chair. It would be three hours before the kids would begin entering this class. With his shadow tendrils he would write on the board. Aside from that Souji had something special planned for the students that sat down in certain placess in the class room. There were three rows of tables and two columns. (diagram listed below) Each Table had four chairs, he didnt anticipate getting THAT many students. However, it was always possible. Either way, depending on where they sat would show many things about them just being in a classroom setting. He also had a notion for those students that didnt sit. There were no rules listed on the board aside from: "Await for the Guardian to begin." and under it was "Respect the Teacher at all times" there was alot to work with... but Souji was quite ready for this class. He'd wanted to run one for a while.

Kitsune never joined the academy. When she became a citizen she was probably too old to join and even if they would allow her to enroll, she already became MiT. It essence she skip student and went straight to geninship. This might be nice to some people eyes to be able to skip a stage, however there is a price. Because she never attended the academy she lacked knowledge that would be considered common to those of her rank. She knew of Anbu for she has encountered them other shinobi villages. Guardians on the other hand were another matter entirely. She never heard of them before and when she saw that there was a class about them she decided to join as well. Hopefully the teacher would not mind her stepping in. The worst thing that could happen is that the teacher would tell her to leave.

She lifts the blindfold over her one eye so could introduce herself to the instructor eye to eye. When she opens the door however she started to have second thoughts. She knew the instructor and admitting her lack of knowledge was already embarrassing. Admitting to him was going to be humiliating for she really did not want to look stupid in front of him of all people. She had to think of an excuse for being there and had to think it up fast. With no ideas forming in her panic she admits defeat. Now standing right of the door in the front corner of the class, she moved out of the so others may enter, “Um, hey Souji. I was just…” Kitsune face was turning a light shade of red as she was finding difficult to bring out the words. Then like a damn breaking words spilled out of her like a rushing river. With a single breath sentence runs, “I would like to join in in the class because I never went to the academy before and because I never went to the academy I do not know anything about guardians and I would like to know more about guardians and I know classes are for student and will try stand out of the way so I do hope you won’t mind me being here.” With a sweat drop running down her check she waited for Souji’s response.

Edit: (Ooc: I guess I should note that Kitsune is 25)
Edit 2: I completely forgot I wear a blindfold now. Sorry

(OOC: Edit: Just wasn't really happy with the quality of this post and decided it needed a bit of an over haul)
(Edit: also Moved from Table 1 to 2)

"Let's just take a seat?"

Jiro would attempt to help what he assumed would be one of his fellow classmates and although his intentions weren't totally noble, he figured a good chuckle on the first day wouldn't be too bad. He was still in the hall just a few steps behind the woman who seemed to have a hard time getting what she wanted to say out. His boyish face would bear a rather friendly grin as he would attempt to pass the her without pushing her completely out of the way. It was now he finally could get a good look at his new teacher. The man was well dressed and seemed to have a thing for animal, but Jiro still wasn't very good at reading people appearances. Then with a quick survey of the room he noticed that he and the pink haired woman seemed to either be fairly early or terribly late. He assumed it was the first and decided it may have been a bit too warm for his fathers thick admiral coat. He would remove said coat and place the coat on the far left seat of the first table closet to the door. He had hoped that him just popping in and taking a seat wouldn't cause any kind of fuss, but at the same time he really didn't care all to much. He then flipped his chair around and took a seat.

"I wonder what this school is really like...", he would idly wonder to himself as he began thinking back to the events that had put him where he was today. He thought back to the night prior in which he had been summoned to the lobby by his foster parents. They had claimed they had a surprise for him, but were reluctant to give much more then that away. He of course had to finish up his nightly duties, but after that he would join them in the seemingly nice lobby on the first floor. It was there they proceeded to inform him that they had enrolled him into the local academy in an effort to get him out of the house. Now, on a regular day he would've fought this with every fiber of his being, then again this was a rather different day. He had spent the past few nights dreaming about his old life back at sea, and couldn't help but miss it. He could only wish for that kind of excitement to be brought back into his new seemingly mundane life. With that in mind he happily agreed to sit in on a class and soak up a bit of knowledge. "Maybe this could be the pick-me-up I've needed...", he manged to continue his steam of thought as he seemed to be feeling happy. With all of this in mind he managed to spend the entirety of the rest of his night off preparing himself for why lay in wait for him. Shortly after he remember that apparently being a ninja, much like being a pirate meant being alert. With that thought in mind he would focus back in on the classroom and wait for the lesson....or at least introductions to begin.

Late night visitors weren’t necessarily common, yet weren’t a cause for alarm. The young female was well accustomed to expecting visitors at any hour. Such things couldn’t be avoided, especially when messages most easily came through voice than any other sort of communication. As such, it was no real surprise to her when she opened her door to find Souji there. If anything, she was grateful. It was a much more welcome delivery than his first. Of course she’d never let him live that one down. Where was the fun in that? Needless to say, the idea of a Guardian class intrigued her – her mentor was a Guardian, after all – enough that she voiced her interest right as she learned of it. Always good to hear more about the profession you were gearing yourself towards.

She woke early that day, not out of any specific eagerness to arrive to the class before the others, but simply due to excitement. It wasn’t often that she could find a reason to be excited about a class. In general, the academy classes were nothing short of incredibly boring. This one, however, would be much different. Souji was teaching. And whether through simple fondness for the elder, or through some ability of his, Kimi always found herself interested in what Souji had to teach. Even better, he was teaching about his profession, the one Kimi herself planned on going into. She knew about Guardians, of course, but it was always different hearing from one of them instead of through rumors and whispered conversation. It was interesting enough that she even managed to get herself to the academy a little earlier than usual. A good sign, if nothing else, that she was ready to learn. While her eyes were nearly fully obscured by her ever-growing bangs, the rest of her hair was pulled out of the way, and into her standard braid – a signal that she was prepared for a little more hands-on learning. Her outfit would only further that idea. Her pants weren’t the most form-fitting around, the black fabric hanging loosely around her legs, while held tightly in place at her waist. Her top, a skin-tight tank top, was a royal blue, bringing out the darker blues in her light eyes. Atop that, she wore her standard jacket, it’s tall neck reaching nearly to her chin. She slung her violin case over her shoulder, and triple checked the strap. Just in case.

She made her way through the halls of the academy, stepping gracefully around a student here or there. The halls weren’t really crowded, but they weren’t exactly empty either. Headphone securely around one ear, she must have looked rather odd to any passing onlookers. Of course, they couldn’t realize what purpose the headphones served. In her bag, attached to said headphones, was her trusty tape recorder. Projected into her ear was the now-familiar voice of Souji, reciting how to get from the main doors of the academy to the classroom. It wasn’t like she had a habit of getting lost or anythi- okay, so she might have gotten lost on her way to classes a few…dozen times. So what. Who could really blame her. She had only just begun to figure her way around when she was blinded. With the vocal guidance of her mentor, she stopped before what could only be the proper classroom. She fished through her case, turning off the player, and sliding the headphones around her neck. She’d pack them up later, but for now they were just going to be in the classroom. She’d worry about all of that if and when they moved to a new location. Another familiar voice caught her attention, and she quirked an eyebrow. Kitsune? She was confused. Wasn’t the female a little…old…to be in class with them? As if reading her mind, the female explained that she had never actually gone to academy. That explained a lot. Nodding to herself, she listened to the seemingly random comments coming from a second, very unfamiliar, source. Not Souji. That much was certain. Though from what she could gather from Kitsune’s commentary, Souji was already there.

A half smile on her face, Kimi slid past the door. She turned towards the faint sounds she had come to identify as Souji, and nodded. ”Souji.” she commented, her tone respectful, yet holding a hint of familiarity. It would be obvious to anyone with a good ear for vocal inflection that the two of them were not strangers. ”And greetings to you as well, friend of Souji.” she directed her second comment to the serpent-like creature on his shoulder. Somehow it didn’t surprise her that her mentor would have a serpent perched on his shoulder. The creature’s scaly skin made quite the interesting sounds against the fabric of his clothing. She’d have to remember it for future reference. She then turned towards Kitsune. ”Hey Kitsune! Didn’t know you were takin this class too!” she smiled, nodding to the pink-haired female. She could hear the presence of the other student, but had no real idea who they were. A male, by the sound of the voice, though not anyone she knew. She went through a list in her mind, crossing off all of the students she had heard. Definitely wasn’t Kei or Sabaku. Certainly didn’t sound like Oyochi, or even that boy she met on her first day…Masaki was it? That exhausted the list of male students she’d met over the course of her schooling so far. From there, she was at a loss.

Eternally grateful that she had the forethought to ask Souji a few key questions the night before, she already knew what rules and guidelines would be displayed in the room. Those were key points that she always hated having to ask the teacher when she first entered a class. Things like assigned seats and such weren’t a second thought to most, especially when the teacher didn’t know of her…peculiar talents. With a second nod to Souji and Kitsune, she made her way around to the back of the room. She sat at the last table, in the corner next to the window. There wasn’t some deep, philosophical reason for her choosing the back of the room. There wasn’t some secret desire to get as far away from the teacher as possible, or to try and not be noticed. Her reasoning was actually really simple. Leave the front of the classroom for students who had to worry about things like being able to see what was going on. She could hear just find from the back, and in some ways preferred it. At least from back there she didn’t have to worry about the distractions that would come from ‘quiet’ whispers behind her. That was one of the worst parts of being in a class. They were bad enough when she was behind them, but always hearing people whisper at your back…it was one of those things that really got on Kimi’s nerves. She started humming a soft tune, mostly to pass the time than anything else. It wasn’t the time or place to pull out her violin, though she was sorely tempted.

Sabaku was so excited for today, he had gotten word that the Guardian class was to be taking place about last week but couldn't stop thinking about it the entire time. Given that Sabaku was usually rushing about he thought he would take his time this time and take a break, enjoy the scenery....but they he saw into a shop that had a clock on the wall.

OH CRAP! Sabaku thought to himself.
I'm going to be late! He yelled in his head.

A without missing a beat Sabaku would burst into a full sprint. Watching the windows of the houses and shops go by he would peer into them looking for another clock. He wasn't sure if he was going to make it in time and didn't want to be late and already get a mark against him. This class was very important to him and he couldn't bear to fail it. Without another thought he activated the hidden and unknown powers that slept inside him. Sabaku would begin to warp from rooftop to rooftop gaining even more towards the academy.
Soon enough he was there, at the front doors. swinging them open he burst down the hallways. There were students in the way and he didn't want to hurt them... so he decided to run on the ceiling instead. Soon enough after many students pointed and laughed at the boy running on the ceiling like a crazy person, he found his way to the doorway of the class.
Now slightly panting after his near tardiness he walked into the class.

Hello sir, My name is Sabaku. He would say while bowing.

Glancing up from his gesture he noticed it was the same guy who refereed the tournament.

Oh hey, it's you! He said completely abandoning his polite gesture.

Glancing over to his shoulder, Sabaku saw a snake... a very... cool... snake.

Sabaku would stare at the snake in amazement for a short moment before bowing again.

Sorry sir, I like you pet sir! Sabaku exclaimed bowing several more times.

After the last bow he figured he should take his seat somewhere before it got weird. Noticing a few others had made it to class before him, thus listing - Kimi which he knew from his genjutsu class, Kitsune which he had met that other night...and a new guy....time would tell how Sabaku felt about this one. Either way he found his way to table 6 on the very right....a very good place to be able to see everything... the door, the windows, the students and teacher. No surprises today...not like that Freaky puppet stuff from the last class....

This class was to be different than the classes Kei had taken before. After the results of the tournament Kei felt more acutely his own lacking, a lack of direction or focus that could hone him into a true shinobi. If Kei was honest with himself he knew he had no nindo, no ninja way to call his own. Maybe he needed to challenge himself more. Since the tournament he had been feeling stagnant and frustrated. So, when he saw the guardian class posted in the academy, he decided to check out what kinds of options he'd have once he graduated. Maybe changing things up would help, something new and challenging. He wasn't very optimistic however.

He dressed quickly, pulling on his black warm-up pants and a plain-white t-shirt. Out of habit, he tied a teal bandanna around his upper bicep, hiding the birthmark on his shoulder. He slung his messenger bag on to his back before grabbing his bracers off the bedside table. he pulled the Advanced Guards on quickly as he left the house, running a bit late. Once he was out the door his body blurred as he sped towards the school. There was nothing like a morning run to clear one's head.

He pushed the door to the classroom open, a few students had beaten him there but that didn't really concern Kei. I hope I'm not late. He said, mostly sincere. He spotted Kimi at the back of the classroom, was she considering going Guardian? She'd be good at it. Of course Kei figured the branches were probably fighting over her since she'd won the student tournament. The thought filled him with a grim sense of amusement. He spotted Sabaku as well, sitting on the other side of the room. He'd taken a strange genjutsu class with the two of them a while back. Ironic that they'd all chosen to come to this class as well.

He took a seat in the back of the room at the same table as Kimi, who seemed to be humming idly to herself. Kei set his bag down beside him and listened for a moment before addressing her. You seem to be finding your way around campus all right. I remember when we first met you were completely lost. Eh, Super-spy? Kei chuckled, Kimi might have won the student tournament but Kei still remembered her first day at the academy. She had come a pretty long way since then.

It was funny, how they would enter... Kitsune being the first. She was around the rank of a Genin. So he could understand her evident pomptness, but he hadnt known her to have gone through any classes. Then again, she was older than he was. Or at least he would decide. Women were often older than they looked. Around these parts at least. Either way, he did notice that she would stand. She was here for the class, but why? Didnt she go with Keita on a mission of exploration of Shamanism and Medical training? He'd let them out the village himself so he was quite sure. Unless there was something else there. Keita and her were likely a secret item. Oh well, at least she would be happy, right? Souji was just here for the ride, Nodding to her, he would not say a word. Simple brushing his hair back with his hand allowing the shades to completely cover his line of sight. If she could see his eyes... she'd know what was going on but because she could not he he'd simply stay quiet. . . for now.

Then a boy. Nasty, dirty, filthy. Dressed like he wasnt truly from around here but if he knew about the class he would be very noticing to the traits and customs of this village.... Souji would no say anything. Once again, not needing to. He did however take a sip of the tea he had made and that was sitting on the top of his desk. Just watching the boy as he sat himself down by the table propping his feet up on the top of it. This did give Souji a silent build of anger. Already this kid chose to not show poise and profession. Like he was here to learn. With a simple nod and a smirk, the Guardian knew what he would be on his way to doing with this kid.

Enter Kimi. Finally, but her mistake. She called him by his name. Shaking his head he'd have to address this later but he couldnt have his name being mentioned while he was on duty. Lightning would kill him if she found out. All this work being put nill in front of the public... and all of his efforts being voided out for not being firm about his position. Either way, he'd watch as she'd find her way down to a seat in the back of the room next to the window. Interesting. Souji'd frown at her seating selection. Wondering why she choose to sit so far back. To distance herself from everyone? Or to observe everything. She could definitely hear him no matter where he spoke. Her senses had grown since the tournament... and it was a good sign. She was going to be learning much much more from this. However there was only so much he could teach her alone.

Sabaku... bubbly. Happy. This was his brother's partner in crime these days? Hm, interesting. Maybe he balanced Oyochi out. Being so... ominous at times. Then again. Oyochi was a Yukata. They seemed to be an ominous group of people on the outside but they (or at least Souji) were a kind people always looking out for the betterment of the village. Psychoanalysis would decide whether this were to be true or not but it was always good to have someone that balanced you. Sabaku did well in the tournament. Had he fought someone like Kyo or Shujinko he likely would have won. The snake on Souji's shoulder would flick a crimson tongue at the boy, "...Morning....", Souji would simply nod and watch Sabaku trot his way to the back of the room. Parallel to Kimi but opposing her figuratively. For his eyes could see unlike her's and this was a great way to spot people coming into the class... and observing. This was quite interesting indeed...

Finally, Souji would nod to Kei as he entered, "...You are not late... You're right on time..." the serpent on Souji's neck would speak as Souji himself would stand to his feet looking at everyone in the classroom. Then back to the door, a Shadowy hand would reach up and begin closing the door shut and Souji would begin speaking. "I am not Souji. I am not the referee in the Tournament. Calling me by my name will be an immediate dismissal from this class from this point on.", taking a deep breath, he'd continue, "I want your feet on the ground and your eyes and ears on me as I speak. Failure to do so will cause you immediate dismissal from this class. If you have a problem with anything I've said thus far. You are welcomed to the door. Otherwise, Class is in session.", Souji's tone had changed. His soft spoken low tenor voice would shift. He was serious, and there was nothing he took more serious than his job. It was his life and the only way he could make sure his family would have food on the table at the end of the day.

"You are to call me, 'Guardian Sir', 'Guardian of Shadows', Or just 'Shadow'.", his shadow Tendrils would begin writing as he spoke on the board. Appearing like Serpents from under him and stretching out on the darker side of the class. "Today... You will be learning, and actually being placed in a situation where you will be putting your skills to the challenge. From this point on, you may only use your natural abilities and the items within your desks. If I see you using any sort of handseals, you will be dismissed. If you open your desk right now, you will be dismissed from this class." shooting his glare from behind his shades to anyone that would be seen doing this. "I am here to teach you the importance of your abilities honed naturally to you... and how anyone's natural ability may save your life." nodding he would finally turn his back to the class, however the serpent was still eyeing them all.

"I'd like to begin with this, you have joined this class today because you have shown interest in one of the most profound branches in Tsuchi-no-Kuni. The Guardians are a group that are to be believed are blessed by the Old Gods, to defend and protect the nation. With their very lives. We are the ones that will openly put everything on the line to save loved ones, and to ensure peace within our nation. We are the Elite of the Elite. The Strongest of the Strong.", nodding he'd turn back to the class after slowly stepping out from behind his desk to the front. "ANBU are a similar group. The differences are within morals and tactics. While Guardians need not to wear masks. ANBU do. Guardians are Native to This country. ANBU are not. It is a new way brought on from the communion with other countries. While Guardians are believed to be blessed by the Gods. ANBU are not.", nodding his head he'd summon a mask to his hand to show an example and after five seconds he'd allow it to dissipate in shadows before finally ending, "Are there any questions before we begin the lesson for today?"

[legend="[size=4]Guardian stuff class thing[/size]"]A bit of time had passed since the tournament, Chi had been keeping herself at the house despite her parents' feelings towards the subject. She hadn't been getting into trouble at the house, so they were fine with it. She was mostly training, trying to better herself. She saw what flaws she had in her battle strategy, and she had to work on it. She didn't go to any classes, she didn't go on any missions, she was in her own version of solitude. She needed to work on controlling her flames, and her earth. On this day, however, she was late. It had been a while since she had taken a class so she could have completely forgotten if it hadn't have been for her mother, politely yelling out to her in the training yard at the Kogane estate.
"Chiiiiii, weren't you going to go to a class today?" She seemed a bit agitated, maybe she was looking forward to getting the young girl out of the house. That may well have been the only reason she took away from her daily schedule to remind the daughter she didn't care to have about the important class. Chi didn't notice the tone of her voice, she stopped her training and looked back at her mother. She was wearing a new suit, a flame resistant suit since she burned up her dress at the tournament. She didn't know where it came from however, it was a package that showed up at her doorstep with the letter "K" written on top to show who it was from. One would infer it was from Kyoi, the mysterious woman who Chi had met on occasion, but Chi just thought the suit was neat after reading what was so unique about it.
After the realization of being late hit her, and how late she was, Chi bolted from the estate. She was in Maruishi, where the estate was, and had to travel to the academy. She wasn't the fastest, but in her training she had been working on it. Maybe one day she would make the stretch in time, but at the moment there was nothing she could do. She'd rather be late than skip the class completely, and that's all she could think as she made her way through the doors of the academy. She went down the hall searching for the class room and once she found it she would take a breath before moving to open it. She would step in slowly and take a quick scan around the room, taking a note of all the faces. She recognized all but two of them, mostly from the tournament. The ref, two of the finalists including the winner of the tournament, and the boy Baka-chan who she had met once before the tournament but who had lost to the winner, Kimi.
"I'm sorry," She would say with a quick bow. "I was training at home and lost track of myself… After taking whatever the teacher had to say in response she would stand in the back of the classroom quietly in a calm manner. Her suit was skin tight and black, she tossed her big fluffy hair behind her back and stood erect with her hands behind her back. She would look down towards the teacher, but not directly at him as she listened to whatever she had to say. She was interested in doing this class, but not particularly interested in making new friends at the moment so she wouldn't be interacting with anyone more than she had to in order to go through the lesson.[/legend]

Another student came and found a seat, Kei to be exact. He was a fearsome opponent and Sabaku could learn a thing or two from watching him. "Guardian of Shadows" had begun his lesson and laid down some simple ground rules. Sabaku had no qualms with the rules set before him and was very excited for the class. Although the part about using only his own abilitys made him uneasy. Sabaku had only begun to barely understand what his powers were and how to use them. Nobody else seemed to have them or noticed him really, it seemed. Even so it was a chance he had to take to pass this class and finally make a name for himself. Shadow asked for any questions but seeing that he was sure to learn anything he needed from the class itself, he would save the questions until after.
At just that moment Chi showed up...yes..the same Chi that had spurned Sabaku's affections a few months back. He was sad about the whole event but got past it eventually. But now....now she was back...and in that outfit...it just wasn't fair. Sabaku would stare at Chi as she made her way to the seat she would take. If she noticed the staring, Sabaku would immediately look the other way while trying to keep a straight face. Whatever she might say or do, Sabaku would mostly try and pay attention, Locking eyes with "Guardian sir" to make sure he knew that he was paying attention.

A familiar voice spoke up, dragging Kimi's attention towards the source. Kei! A small smile graced her features as she recognized the boy. They met way back on the first day of school, and even though they haven't spent a lot of time together, he was one of the kids Kimi definately considered a friend. Not to mention, he still owed her a mission together. She'd have to mention that at some point. He spoke to her then, and she ceased her humming to acknowledge him. "Oh yeah." she giggled softly. "Although this one came with directions." she gestured to her tape player, hooked firmly to her violin case. She would have said more on the subject, but a familiarly authoritative voice cut through.

So Souji didn't want to be called by his name? She supposed it was a Guardian thing, so it wouldn't be a big deal. She could easily take care of that. It was as simple as adjusting titles and names in her mind. Of course, she would always know him as Souji first and foremost, but she could call him just about whatever it is he asked her to. Other then that, everything made sense. He said to keep their feet on the ground, and Kimi wasn't completely sure what he meant by that. Did he mean something as silly as not having their feet swing around under the table as a child would be want to do, or did he intend for them to stand the entire time. She actually didn't know. She listened closely, trying to figure out what the other students were doing in response, but she didn't know for sure. So, shrugging it off, she just sorta sat there and waited to see what everyone else would do. That'd be the easiest way to handle it. If everyone else stood, she would follow suit, if not, she wouldn't bother. Outside that, there weren't any questions she had. Everything seemed fairly straightforward, so that was good. Outside that, she waited to see what else Souji - Shadow - had to say.

((sorry it's so short, internet was being turned off and shit))

Kitsune stays silent as the students came in and tried to keep herself calm. She was still a little embarrassed about joining a class when she is old enough to teach one. When Souji begins the lesson he gives them some simple instructions, but for his request for ears and eyes she had to apologize. “Forgive me my Guardian of Shadows, but I see better without my eyes.” She says in a flirtatious tone as she lowers the blindfold to cover her eyes once again. Souji will likely scold her for speaking to him in such a manor during his class, but it was all in good fun. Without her eyes she can better focus on her enhanced hearing stronger than that of Kimi’s. Souji also forbade them from using handseals and told them they may only use their natural abilities and items from the desk. Despite this Kitsune continues to stand in the corner of the room. She did not need anything that might be found in the desk for she could easily conjure any weapon she desired to her hands. As for handseals she barely used them to begin with. She cast illusions through sound and her puppets required no handseals to perform their tricks. Being the Avatar of the Divine she had many natural abilities that she can rely on. However this did spark the question, what type of class is this? She expected this to be a pure lecture based class but these rules suggest that it will be more than that. Perhaps the snake had some part to play. Kitsune was an excellent charmer when it came to animals for beasts are easily manipulated by illusions; however this was no ordinary serpent. This creature could speak in human tongue which means it was much more intelligent than its brothers.

So far none of the students had any questions, but there is one that has been nagging at Kitsune. His speech made it sound like the guardians and Anbu are connected, but are two separate groups. “You keep comparing Guardians to the Anbu. My question is that, are you doing this due to the similarities of the two factions or are the two factions related somehow?” The real question she wanted to ask him was could she as a shaman become a guardian. Do shamans not protect and defend the nation by healing its people? Are shamans incapable of being considered elite? So many questions she wanted to ask, but it is likely they will go unasked.

Kei glanced down as Kimi motioned to a tape player attached to her violin case but any response he might have was cut off as the door closed and the instructor began to speak. Kei had to admit, this teacher, the shadowy hands writing on the board, and his talking cobra were impressive. The class was straight to business however, and the students were instructed that they were to refer to their instructor by title not name. Kei made a note of his name anyway and was slightly surprised when he realized that it was the same man who refereed the student tournament. Kei had thought this Guardian looked slightly familiar. Still, he would make sure to refer to his teacher by title, not name. He figured that this insistence was to maintain anonymity and a sort of uniformity. There were certainly times where being identified on an individual basis could be a problem. Kei's thought back to the tournament, where he had been singled out early in the free-for-all for elimination. It would have been nice to have gone into the final round with some kind of anonymity.

The Guardian of Shadows continued his instructions. It sounded like they'd be having live drills. At least Kei hoped they would, he much preferred it to desk-work or note-taking. He learned better when he was doing rather than being lectured anyway. Still the restrictions seemed rather intense; no handseals meant no ninjutsu, Kei would be fine using his bloodline techniques and taijutsu but he wasn't sure about the other students. As for the mystery items contained within the desks? As far as Kei knew they could be practically anything, and Kei was willing to hazard a guess that the desks each contained different items. From the looks of it they were in for an interesting class to be sure but Kei was ready for a challenge.

Kei idly mulled this over as the Guardian of Shadows moved on to explain the differences between Iwa's Guardian and ANBU groups. Kei absorbed the information, interested. Coming from Maruishi, Kei was acutely aware of the sort of clash between progress and tradition in Earth country. Even Iwa's medical branch was divided between the shamans and the more modernistic medical shinobi. It created what Kei assumed was a rather unique dynamic within the village. Despite the importance of tradition within Iwa, they had still adopted things from other cultures in more recent years. It probably gave Earth country a miilitary advantage as well, as they could adopt the best aspects of both groups. Kei wasn't entirely sure how he felt about the guardians being allegedly blessed by the old gods. He wasn't particularly religious nor did he adhere to manner of the "old fashioned" traditions of the Village. That aside, Kei was interested. The Guardians power was indisputable and Kei found himself wondering if he had what it took to stand among their ranks.

Jiro had already not been in the best of moods when he had left this morning, but now he was getting some 'indirect' comments sent his way. He could feel the twinge of rebellion crawling up his spine and caused him to become rather restless. As instructed he would lower his feet and chair, but not without a bit of attitude. He would casually shift his weight back and drop his still bare feet to the cool ground. The chair would make a light slam as it hit the floor, but nothing too dramatic. He knew that taking these classes was the only thing that was going to get him out of that crazy hotel. With a brief exhale he would seem to give in for the time being and surrender his full attention to the cheesy proctor's title and class rules. "Man what a drag...", he would mutter to himself as he began to lean forward and place his hands in his still empty pockets. One thing Jiro would make known was his inability to remain still when he found himself in a dull situation. He really didn't seem to be able to win with this class. The other students seemed to be well adjusted and took the Guardian's verbal trashing without so much as a wince. "How can anyone sit here and take this without writhing on the inside...", he thought to himself as a sour glare plastered it's self on his sun-kissed face.

He managed to keep the rude words from leaving his strained lips, but had a feeling that he and 'The Guardian' weren't going to be on the best of terms. At the same time he knew he was a guest here and had to watch his temper other wise his future was as good as gone. "Just gotta sift though the shit and wait till I can take down some baddies.", he managed as he imagined himself as a powerful Pirate who had the vast powers of the shinobi. He seemed to have gained his second wind and managed to catch the very end of the proctors instructions. He then began to wonder what might actually be hidden in his desk or maybe even the desk next to him. He couldn't help but wonder if everyone had to same tools or even if anyone would know how to use them. Jiro was twitching with anticipation and couldn't help lightly tapping his desk in hopes of hearing the pitter patter of what lay inside.

Nodding, this would be perfect. Soujis eyes glazed over from the night before, but not quite showing a bit of his stagger. He would firstly note that Chi would enter his damn class late. Something that he would not tolerate, however, if Chi was showing interest in the Guardian or ANBU branch, then he would not hold her away from it. Lightning would kick his ass if he denied a student a chance to be a Guardian. Someone bound with their soul to protect the village. Souji believed in this as a trait for himself as well. "Kogane Chi, its fine of you to have graced us with such a late display of finesse. If we were at war... I'd fear that the war would have been three years done by the time you'd show up...", shaking his head and noting that she stood not far from the Kitsune. No one seemed to have questions....

Outside of the Medic that came through the door, which Souji would have to clarify after answering her question, Though he did notice her blindfold, 'Is she mocking Kimi? Or is there something more going on here... No matter...' Souji would begin... "...Miss Shikame, leave the flirts outside.", his face shifting to her. His tone stern and solid. He'd continue a few short moments after, "...As to your question... I would think with you living here for as long as you have, that you woujld know that Guardians are native to Stone. They are Stone's acting force as ANBU are in other villages. However, in Stone we offer the old ways 'Guardian' and the New way of ANBU. You are able to choose your path being unrestricted by the customs you wish to choose. No matter what though, by entering the branch, you will become Elite. A step above the fighters of the main branch. And in some cases more tactical than the skillful minds of Medics and Shaman.", nodding he'd nod once before turning to the class, and catching an earful from the kid int he front.

"A drag indeed... Now, everyone. State your name. And your reasons for entering this class, one at a time, and once you do so you will open your desk and declare your item in front of the class.", nodding Souji'd smirk before turning to Kitsune and Chi, "Those that chose to stand do not have an item for this exercise..." it would teach them not to stand in a class where the majority of the class was sitting. And they were not 'helpers' to the teacher, nor were they his boss or another teacher. Follow the rules.

Class Rules said:
  • Any amount of students may enter, (if you are currently in a class/mission you may forgo rewards to enter this class. If you are doing such note it in your post when you enter)
  • You have 72 hours between mods to post. Failure to do so will result in a strike against your character. [Three strike system is enforced]
  • No Posting Order at the moment.
  • If you enter the class now you will have Two Strikes against your character.
  • The List below lists the items that were pre-made prior to the class being posted: (The numbers are the tables that you have chosen to sit at... 7 is the entire floor meaning you are standing or sitting on the floor not near a desk)
    • 1 - Inside their desk is Rope and a claw
    • 2 - Inside their desk are Item Scrolls (Fake Exploding Notes and Soldier pills)
    • 3 - Inside their desk is one Silver Kunai
    • 4 - Inside their desk are 3 Warp seals.
    • 5 - Inside their desk is a Diagram of the Obstacle course for later.
    • 6 - Inside their desk are Water Ballons and an Empty Quiver
  • A PM will be sent to those seated at table #5

Kimi quirked an eyebrow as Sou-Shadow continued speaking. His attitude was far more serious than she expected. Quite the contrast from her Genjutsu class, that was for sure. She quirked an ear, she had been practicing the art of moving her ears independently of her face, as some seemed to be able to do, listening intently to see if someone else was going to step forward and begin the introductions. Hearing nobody taking initiative, she nodded. "My name's...Kimi. I'm taking the class because, well, I desire to be a Guardian. As for what's in the desk..." she paused to pull out whatever it may be. "A lousy scrap of paper." It took her a few seconds to recognize the chakra printing on the paper, the energy forming an image in her mind. "Oh hey. It's a map!" She sent a small glare in Shadow's direction. Of course she'd end up at the desk with a map. At least it wasn't as bad as their last encounter. This time she could at least figure out what was on the page. She figured it was probably a forethought on Shadow's part, making sure nothing like that last time happened. He should know by now that he'd never hear the end of it if that had been the case. Then again, it could also have been an accidental coincidence. Surely he hadn't expected her to sit all the way in the back. I mean, being his student, she'd almost be expected to sit in the front. Then again, it was Kimi. And when did Kimi ever do what was immediately expected. She then set the paper on the desk before her, waiting to hear the next classmate speak up.

“If that is what you wish, you will not receive any more flirts from me.” Her tone was as serious as his, so her meaning would be quite clear. She was playing with him for she knew he was just trying to be professional, but there is nothing wrong with making him sweat a little. However if he looked carefully, he would spot a small smirk. His answer was informative, though she would have like it better without the ‘with as long as you lived her you should know’ like speech start the explanation. Was he trying to make her sound stupid? During his lecture she begins forming crystals in the palm of her hands. Within the crystals were sound jutsu that would be cast when shattered. Truly the handseal restriction was not going to hurt her at all.

Souji then wanted them to introduce themselves, proclaim why they are here and reveal their item. “I am Kitsune, a local gypsy. I’m here to learn more about the village I have decided to take up residence and my item is…” She stretches an arm out as if to pull something out of an invisible hat. Out of seemingly nowhere a sword appears in as she pulls in out of the invisible hat. “A katana?” Kitsune sounded generally surprise with her item even though she was the one that summoned it. The blade was a one handed weapon and was partially transparent. Kitsune predicted that Souji would yell at her for taking an item. Though it was one of her natural abilities to pull items out of the realm of dreams and she didn’t use handseals to summon it.

Shadow begun his lesson and made some remarks to the lady standing near the door, they seemed to know each other. No matter, Sabaku listened to what Shadow had said about declaring your name and reasons for being here and then stating the items within your desk. Kimi was the first to step up and make declarations. Her reasoning was sort of simple but made sense anyways. Then the flirty lady talked and then pulled a katana out of nowhere...Sabaku remembered her from that other night doing some "non-seal" jutsu and was very confused on how you did jutus without forming seals... No matter, Sabaku was up next it seemed.

I am Sabaku! He accidentally said probably to loud with excitement.

I have come here today to become on of the Elite, to protect my country, the ones I love and to grow ever stronger so that I may one day be the strongest ever! Sabaku exclaimed with a gleam in his eyes.

Rummaging through his desk he would find some items... Water balloons and a empty quiver... what... why... Sabaku was so confused by these items, oh well... he declared what he had anyways....

I have... um... Water Balloons and an Empty quiver so it seems... Sabaku said to the class, showing his odd items.

Sabaku retook his seat and placed the strange items upon his desk. What did Shadow have in store for the class. With items like these? A map, a Sword, And his items. Only time would tell, but for not Sabaku must wait and see what everyone else had in their own desks.

Jiro hadn't mean't for 'The Guardian' to over hear his thoughts on his teaching method, but the past was the past. Like the others he would stand firm and deliver his name. "My Names is Noboru, Jiro...", he had started with a bit of enthusiasm but faulted for a moment when he had to explain why he was here. At first he almost just said that his foster parents had sent him to get him out of the house, but some how he didn't think that would gain him any respect amongst his peers. Then a thought would cross his mind, that wasn't per say a lie, but more of a harsh truth. "I'm here to gain the skills and abilities necessary to find my parents....", he figured letting the group know a bit about himself would help him begin to relate with them. With that he would lift the lip of his desk and pull a stack of papers with writing on them and a small bottle filled with what seemed to be pills. "I have...Papers and pills?", he would half ask, half answer as he held the bottle on one hand and the papers in the other. He had hoped that he would have gotten something a bit cooler like the girl who revealed a katana. He would then look to his class mates with hopes that maybe one of them would know what relevance the items he had revealed were.

[legend="[size=4]Guardian stuff class thing[/size]"]Chi received a bit of a lashing from the teacher, but she didn't expect anything less. It was better than if she had skipped the whole class and gotten reprimanded for it later. She took her spot after his remarks and would listen to what he had to say. It seemed that the desks held some items that would be of use in some way for the class, but how exactly wasn't very apparent to her just yet, nor did it seem most of them seemed to understand. Except for the map item that Kimi possessed. The woman who stood near Chi, who was named Kitsune, pulled out a sword from her hat. She didn't use hand seals, so it seemed she might be good. Chi and Kei were left to speak, she decided to speak up next.
"My name is Chi, of the Kogane clan, bearers of the Pheonix symbol." She would motion to the image of the phoenix made out on her suit with various lines that came together in a unique way to form the bird. "I will become Tsuchikage one day, I joined this class so I could learn how to better protect my village. Chi was no sitting at a desk so she couldn't pull out an item, but she did have two hanging on her back. She would reach around under her hair and detach the two gloves and put them on. The old gloves were finely made, no tears showed on these despite their apparent age.
"All I need are my own gloves, if that's permitted. I only suppose it is because of the woman next to me who pulled out her own weapon." She would say, sort of asking if she may use them instead of just assuming that was acceptable like the other. Explosive notes, she had them, spitting oil, she could, but she didn't feel she would need them as long as she had her strange gloves and the suit she bore. Her own natural abilities, she felt, were enough for any challenge. That's how she was raised, though she didn't know how she would deal if she couldn't use jutsu. These old, not very stylish gloves were all she needed. And maybe she could use her hair to choke someone if it came down to it. Not very likely, but anything's possible in the world of Shinobi![/legend]

Kei was surprised to see a latecomer to the class enter the room. It was Chi, another finalist from the tournament. It was looking like this class was going to be even more interesting than Kei had imagined. After briefly being chewed out by the Guardian, Chi took her spot and the class continued. From what Kei was beginning to understand both ANBU and Guardian were different factions within the same branch of Iwa's military. He wondered how often they worked together, or even if some operatives were members of both branches. Kei tried to play of like the lecture was nothing special but in truth he was listening attentively. He still wasn't sure he was cut out for the elite branch or even if he wanted to join, but he could still look into it right?

Next came the introductions, it seemed to happen in every new class group although Kei found it rather amusing that they'd be doing such a thing in a class for a group so focused on anonymity. Surely the instructor already knew each of their names. If the upcoming class excercise would require teamwork all Kei really needed to know about his fellow students was what they were capable of. First to stand was Kimi, so Guardian branch hadalready claimed her. She'd be good at it. She had a map, Kei leaned over to take a look as there was only one copy for the two of them. He looked around the room, waiting for the others to introduce themselves and, more importantly, their items. The next was Kitsune, no item but an interesting ability. SHe'd been able to summon a weapon without handseals. So Kei wasn't the only one with that ability. Next was Sabaku, water balloons and an empty quiver. Then came the guy Kei didn't recognize. Jiro, he had... paper and pills? With Sabaku's seemingly random items they could easily be that mundane, but at the same time they could be explosive tags and health pills. Kei couldn't tell. After that Chi made her introduction, again, no item. Kei figured it was his turn. He sighed and stood. Hoshokurai Kei. I'm here to learn. I guess I'm sharing the map. Kei shrugged and sat down, waiting on further instructions from the Guardian of Shadows.

Natural abilities and a hodgepodge of items, He wondered about the empty desks and their unclaimed items. He doubted the Guardian would let anyone take them now. It looked like they were stuck with what they had, which was probably the point. Kei was just glad at least one of them had sat at the table with the map, assuming that it was the right map and not a dud. Some of the items seemed pretty useless but they could always improvise if the need arose right?
