Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

AND SO IT BEGINS!

Ten days from the preliminaries, it would finally be time. Time for everything they had learned to be put into play. To show the promise of the village in this. The top eight students would come forth into the public eye of the village. As the crowds would gather around the arena. The levels and levels of people anxious to come and see the students... The pride of the village all now with the light of the sun shining down on them and the arena. This was their day. Everyone who had made it this far definitely had something to be proud of. Something was very potent in this... and as one of the perks Souji himself was preparing for this tournament he was selected to be the referee, he was a lowly guardian so he wasnt much to really look at but he had a history of complete fairness between parties. This was sort of a test... As his sibling was in this tournament as well. And as it would be set up for ages, this would be something of a spectacle... especially with a special showcase of the Tsuchikage and the Daimyo at the grand finale of the tournament. The battle field itself, set up in such a way that there were very few ways to hide. However, there would still be ways to hide, ways to get things under the sleeves and such.

This was going to be great! The crowd was already roaring for the action, the combatants would be making their way, or would already be in the arena... The first match up though, was a daring battle between Yagami Kyo and Yanchana Shujinko! It was going to be something to see the combatants... Once everyone was ready things would begin!

Then an Announcer came on the mic and began to loudly speak, "HELLO! AND WELCOME TO THE STUDENT SHOWCASE TOURNAMENT FINALS!!!! EIGHT OF THE TOP STUDENTS IN THE ACADEMY ARE NOW GOING TO PUT ON A SHOW FOR YOU ALL!!! ARE YOU READY!!?!?!? THEY WILL NOW COME TO THE ARENA NOOOOWWW!!!!", and as made notice the announcer would usher in the students one at a time. (You may rp the announcer as you wish introducing you.)
Rules of the Tournament said:

[legend="[size=4]Student Tournament. HIYAH~![/size]"]This was it. This was the day that she had been waiting for. Her battle in the preliminaries had been too easy, but she knew the rest of the battles wouldn't be so easy. As she waited for the announcer to start calling them in she wondered who she would be fighting. She wouldn't look at the other participants. She kept her eyes closed and meditated for a bit, or at least tried to but it was hard with all the villagers screaming just outside. Chi would sigh and give up as it would seem she wasn't going to be able to calm herself down. Then she heard her name and her ears perked up.
She went where she was told and entered the battle field that was surrounded by stands of people. They were all yelling and seemed more excited about the tournament than the students. She put a finger to her lip as she looked around at the people. Her dress that day was black, a dark black. She was going to do whatever it took to win this tourney and earn the love of her parents. She looked in the stands but she didn't see any family members, this made her feel sad but she couldn't have expected anything. She would look away from the stands with a solemn look on her face and move to wherever it was they were supposed to stand while waiting for the rest of the students.
They didn't need to see her fight, they would be hearing all about it the next day after she won.[/legend]

Shujinko's headache had thankfully healed by now. That chick with the drying pan deserved to get cut up a bit for cracking her over the head with cast iron like a shambling idiot. Shujinko was a vindictive woman sometimes. But she took some headache pills and was ready to go again. And it was time to fight again. She couldn't quite remember seeing a bracket or something, but whatever the case, her next opponent was going down. No matter what. She arrived with the other students of the tourney, almost defensively clenching her sword to her hip. Looking around somewhat cautiously.

Kimi woke up early that morning, unsure of what she was doing awake at that time of morning. She hadn't gotten to sleep at any decent hour the night before, and she was worried that it would impair her judgement. She knew that wasn't the case, however. It was probably why she had chosen to take it easy, showing up at the arena shortly before they were supposed to be announced. She felt her way along the wall, trying her best to stay out of the way from everyone. She took a deep breath, settling herself to deal with the influx of sounds and cheering. Everyone seemed to be really excited for the tournament. And Kimi was no different. She knew full well that it was going to be an event she wouldn't ever forget. Not only that, but it was a great time to show off what she had learned. She stood in silence, her long black hair braided behind her, her bangs hanging almost completely in front of her vibrant blue eyes. She heard her name announced, and a small grin graced her features. She walked confidently out into the main arena, following the footsteps of the student before her. She stood beside her fellow students, her violin in her left hand, the bow in her right. She reached a hand up to brush the hair from her eyes before forcing herself to stop. She would break that habit if it was the last thing she did. So she remained there, hair hanging in front of her face, and waited for the tournament to begin.

He had been purposely isolated from the rest of the group of students behind the scenes, particular due to his behavior in the upcoming ten day time skip after he had caught wind that both Kyo and Chi had made it this far. Sitting solemnly within the dark tunnel overlooking the arena, his eyes focused upon the arena and scenery he could see from this spot in the darkness and naturally his inability to discern his emotions any longer played a part in his emotionless, almost uninterested demeanor. A lot appearance wise had changed for the boy due to the strict training regime he was under coupled with his apparent punishment by being given a guardian to monitor his movements and progress. His bodies muscular structure while slim was becoming toned and under the ushering of his Overseer, the boy had trimmed much of his hair with the exception of the back which had been allowed to stay long yet sectioned. He would blink before staring at the shadows that danced along the wall from the encroaching light, he listened to the cheers of the first few students arrival...

"Straighten up Oyochi, they are ready for you to step into the light.", was what his anbu Overseer spoke to him behind his mask. The two of them ever since his assignment with Oyochi had been together everywhere, during training and even during his classes which did not help his reputation as word of his antics during that fated mission quickly spread. The anbu agent would move away from the wall and begin walking into the light, stopping to turn and wait for his charge to follow. That was when the announcer began to speak...

"Next up we have---well it looks as if one of our village's young problem starters and delinquents has made it to this stage of the tournament. I am sure everyone by now has heard the rumored botching of a mission by this youth and his aggressive actions against one of our own elderly citizens. Well introducing the youth of the recent hubbub, hailing from the Yukata Clan and interestingly enough the sibling of the tournament's referee....Yukata Oyochi!"

Judal_anime_avi_full.jpg

His bare feet were the first to touch the light's rays as he stepped out of the tunnel to a mix bag of cheers and boos from the crowd, though it was majority boos which were instigated by his own actions that day, ones that he had yet and never would apologize for. His appearance was easily marred by the fact that right behind him was an Anbu agent that people naturally and correctly assumed was in charge of the boy. However what naturally would piss some people off in the crowd was the fact that Oyochi had no sympathetic or apologetic look on his face, instead he seemed to not care at all about how his entrance was received, which was purely truth. He actually had a cocky like smirk upon his face as the boy stepped forwards, his pupils remaining narrowed however easily picking apart the crowd of various chakra signatures in which he knew were those of his clan, including his brother's nearby. He could also feel the chakra signatures of his fellow students as well, noting that Kyo's was present somewhere as well. There was whispers as well as open questions about the bracers upon Oyochi's arms and the identical collar around his neck, that they naturally assumed were apart of his punishment or a way to control his supposedly rampant chakra. Unlike before he had abandoned his traditional kimono for a more carefree attire, choosing to go about barefoot and with baggy but seamless black pants and a black meshed shirt that was cut halfway down his torso for a tight fit. With his Anbu overseer standing right behind him, the boy would sit down upon the ground a bit away from the arena and isolated away from the other contestants with his eye's focused upon one individual in particular, Kogane Chi...

He would wait until their eyes locked before calmly running his thumb across his neck and turning it upside down. A silent but effective reminder of his feelings for the girl, someone whom he hoped to be match against in order to show her just how incapable she was at protecting herself let alone protecting her friends..

His feelings were simple, everyone's skills were going to be disrespected by him in the same fashion that his ability to act in the moment was disrespected by many in the village, including those he felt were supposed to have been his friends.

Kyo entered alongside Shujinko, looking up into the stands to see his parents watching on. His first fight of the tournament was a pushover, barely breaking a sweat as he made swift work of the other student. Now here he was for the next phase, the part where the tournament really began to heat up. Looking over all the other students he would recognize their faces, stopping for a moment and glaring as he spotted Oyochi, wondering why they would let a psycho like him enter. It was possible that he could be his first opponent, a thought that both excited him yet caused him some dread, knowing that Oyochi could be a very dangerous person. Of course it could also be Shujinko that he faces first, looking over at the girl from the corner of her eye, a smile forming on his lips.

Today was finally the day for the showdown between the eight contestants that had made it through the preliminaries. It was going to be a great afternoon of blood spilling, sweat dripping and crying from the remaining eight in the tournament. But, luckily for Katsu he was selected to be one of the field medical shinobi on hand for the tournament to rush into the field after one or both of the combatants had fallen in the fight. It was not exactly the best job to have but it felt Katsu near a battlefield and would allow him to evaluate the students in the tournament that he hadn't yet met in a class. He did notice prior to entering the field that his three students were still in which made him smile a little. Hopefully he taught them something when they had their evening class.

But that didn't matter today as the first fight of the day was suppose to be getting underway very soon and Katsu needed to be focusing on the participants to stop the fight or at least note to the referee that the fight needed to end. This should be a good day overall for the Uchiha Medic, but who knew. All that Katsu knew is that he wanted a good showing from everyone especially his three students and wanted the best student to win.

As for attire, Katsu was wearing his medical clothing that was completely white with a red cross on the back to symbolize his branch so that everyone knew he was there for the purpose he was and not to jeopardize the students. His hair was the way it always was and his face was still covered with hair. Underneath his medical robe, you could make out a shirt that was red with a white cross on it in case push came to shove.

[OOC: Good luck everyone. I am just spectating and rushing in when you guys collapse!]

Sabaku was so exited for today, Making sure he was ready on time, he arrived early and waited behind the stands where nobody could see. Meditating while he waited he could be sure to be in tip top condition for the fights to come, He hoped he would go far today. After everyone had arrived and the the stands were booming with noise he thought it might be a good idea to go over to where he should be. Walking over he heard the announcer start to introduce everyone. There was a very loud boom of booing all of a sudden, looking over he noticed that oyochi, the guy he met before during the preliminarys, had sat away from everyone else. He thought that was sad, maybe they were picking on him? Another few students went up after him and by that time Sabaku had made his way behind the stage and waited for his name to be called.

And now, next up we have none other than the son of "Zephyrs Grace" SAAABAAAKUUU! He announced in that announcer kind of way.

Walking out from behind the stage he was met with a thunderous roar of the crowd. The sun was bright so he lifted his hand to try and block it out. Noticing that oyochi was still all alone, with the exception of some bigger guy whom he had never seen before, He decided to make his way over to him and give him some company before the fight.

[OoC WC:250 "Zephyrs Grace" is the nickname his dad got from the main branch<---just flavor]

With his body resting indian styled upon the grass, Oyochi had the free time to generally browse around the area visually without utilizing his sensoring capabilities which threw him off guard when the Announcer once again spoke across to the entire event populace. The pupil's of his eyes would migrate towards the entrance zone, the boy listening to the rather energetic and surely vocal introduction of the next participant even going so to mention the boy's relationship with someone coined as "Zephyrs Grace". Oyochi with his palm resting against the side of his face and his elbow supported by his leg would have a look of general disinterest while his actual thoughts was that of a shear curious nature. The student who entered the area after the introduction was someone whom he was still unfamiliar with yet had been popping up more in appearance around him in the latest days of the tournament, particularly after his own match within the prelims. This could only mean that he had survived the first rounds and would naturally be a target of Oyochi's should they be pitted against one another either sooner or later. While the crowds energetic claps and cheers finally began to dull down, his pupils would momentarily wander away from Sabaku's form and focus upon Kyo.

"The mind is a dangerous device if you allow your thoughts to run rampant as you do often, Oyochi." The masked anbu whom stood behind Oyochi with his palms resting behind his back spoke in a tone that Oyochi was all to familiar with by now. His way of talking still urked Oyochi's nerves almost to the point of pissocity as it was filled with authority and yet at the same time compassion. It made Oyochi literally annoyed on a subconscious level yet it was something he had to simply deal and adjust to. What truly took his focus off Kyo however was the fact that he felt Sabaku's chakra signature coming closer and as such turned his head once again to meet what his senses were already informing him of. The fact that unlike all the other students, the boy Sabaku had chosen to accompany the area Oyochi had isolated himself to. He did not fully understand the motives behind this as he had thrown away all notions of caring about friendships and potentially even comrades yet he also did not shoo away unexpected company. With his palm still supporting his head and a look of disinterest and possible unemotion in his eyes he spoke before Sabaku could.

"So, it looks like you also survived your fight against the fodder....I take it these past ten days you've hopefully polished what skills are your best because these next few rounds aren't going to be so simple.". His serpentine eyes looked as if they were trying to pierce the boy's soul as he spoke and thought at the same time. "Especially if you're unfortunate enough to be matched against me and what i've prepared..."

As Sabaku arrived upon Oyochi's sitting area, He had began to speak before he could say anything at all.

Yea, my first fight seemed almost fixed...I'm hoping to fight someone strong and test my ability. Sabaku would say while scratching the back of his head.

I've actually had a really weird past ten days... Sabaku explained, thinking back to the abandoned mineshaft incident.

Pondering on what to say next he simply decided to sit down next to Oyochi, looking up at the masked fellow and back at Oyochi.

You have your own bodyguard? That's either really cool cuz your super lucky....or really lame cuz you did something bad... Sabaku said, pausing for a moment before continuing.

Sorry I just overheard the announcer say something about you, I don't really care what it was. I think old people are gross and kinda dry and used up if you ask me. He said while letting out a wide smile.

Sabaku was just trying to make small talk to ease the obvious tension in the air, this boy didn't like much company and Sabaku could feel it in his bones. That stare seemed so cold, almost like it was put there to mask and forget something horrible. Sabaku would feel remorse for the boy and decided that he would make it a goal to be his friend...or at least he would try his best to be.

Woof Woof. WOOOOOOOOOOOF.

Well, it was another day at the academy, but not a normal day. Normally, he was sent here by Keita to do some teaching, or sent there to scout shinobi who might become medics. Today, he was on duty. Today, he was working as a medic for the tournament. He was obviously trained in trauma medic as he was at one point a field medic.

Sitting in the first row with his dog, Hissori was ready to watch them all hoping to see some new talent, and pick new people for his part of the medical branch. However, there was another goal for Hissori to be here. Maybe after five months, he would finally be noticed and enlisted into the shinobi corps.

For five months, Hissori had just been the head of the Hope Clinic. For five months this village had ignored his talents as a shinobi. For five months, Hissori felt disrespected in this sense. In a way all of these students were more important to the village in the sense they were becoming a shinobi. Maybe, Maybe, Hissori should enter this tournament to prove his own worth.

But hey, would that even be fair?

Hey, I will be entering as a spectator, and medic.

But I will be asking something to Souji eventually. Have found little people! May you not need Hissori's help.

"Bodyguard? Hardly, he is my assigned Overseer in charge of keeping me on a quote on quote straight path...". Oyochi's voice was rank with sarcasm upon these words as despite the personal growth he had undergone while under the veil of the Overseer's watchful eye, he detested his sentence. While he could have easily chosen to ignore the Anbu's words and methods, he had found that ignoring it simply made things harder upon himself down the line and eventually willed himself to give in to the man's regime. His interest at this moment however had focused heavily on Sabaku, mainly because he noticed a curious nature within the boy or at least a willing drive to ask questions and find answers. Still keeping his facial features from betraying his interest by remaining unemotional appearance wise he would answer a key note that Sabaku had brought up. "I am looked down at because of a decision I made during a mission, to subdue an old woman who was attacking a then perceived comrade. However due to the actions I took the old woman basically was scared to death and her heart stopped. I understand now however that friends and comrades only cause you to deviate from the importance of the mission. Never again will the well being of a team member get in my way...No longer do I care."

His emotion slightly seeped into his vocal cords as he evidently became agitated at his own words, something that cause the Anbu behind him to momentarily turn his masked face towards Oyochi as if anticipating a reaction from the boy. This however would not come to pass as he stared at his free palm, manipulating the individual fingers of his right palm while cuffing his hand as if he was holding a sphere in his grasp. It was difficult for one to come up with their own world philosophy but Oyochi was on the crest of creating his own. "My sole concern from now on is survival. Whether it be through manipulation or becoming enthroned with discovering sources of power. I refuse to allow others perceptions to rob me of my own moral obligations." His pupils migrated to rest on Sabaku then...

"And those that do shun me or think of me as some black stain..will be the stepping stools to my ascension." and as he spoke the burning sensation of the seal that covered his backside and cut off his elemental chakra amplified causing his breathing to shallow slightly.

Kitsune was late the tournament; the battles were about to begin. She quickly gathers her instruments and runs to the arena at full speed. The streets full of people trying to enter but this did not stop her. No she merely started running along the wall and jumping across alleys. Kitsune was not a fighter and did not particularly like watching them. However this would be a grand opportunity to see the shinobi arts in action. She only recently learned hand seals and still found them difficult to perform. She knew absolutely nothing about taijutsu and practically nothing about ninjutsu. In fact the only ninjutsu she knew was transformation and its various levels which she uses to enhance her own illusionary arts. When she got to the stadium she climbs up the wall and sits on the roof. Kitsune was always one for high places. Looking down below, she could see all the students. Hopefully these kids could teach her something in their battle. A big grin grew on her face when she saw one of the students held a violin. Maybe she was like her and uses music to create illusions. She will definitely be keeping a close eye on that one.

The crowd's cheering was loud, and kind of annoying. Harumi sat high above the crowd on the wall overlooking the arena. Everyon looked like ants, or they would had she not been able to see them in perfect detail. Hopping off the wall and landing with a soft tap! she walked to a seat and sat silently, she wasn't excited for anyone's match besides her own. They would all fight and aim for the top. Harumi didn't sport her chipper up-beat attitude today, she was in battle mode, focused. She was contemplating what she could do to win, she would watch the first match, analyse their abilities, and strike. But she needed to seem like she was happy, and in a sense she was. She enjoyed tournaments...although this was the first one she's been to... She'd try to enjoy it while still watching them carefully.

Hearing the loud cheering from the stadium Masaki walks towards the area. Walking past a couple groups people Masaki is heading towards the waiting area where the other students are. While waiting Masaki sat he thinks thought the his last match with the weird guy who believes that he is a bull for some reason. Masaki was really lucky that he had a advantage with his arsenal of ninjustu. But still feeling proud of himself, he win his first fight with another ninja. Looking at the announcer Masaki waited on his match, thinking about different strategies for the match hopping to not wastes his trump card to early.

It had been ten days since Kei's fight with his brother, the fight where Kei had earned his right to compete in today's tournament. Since that day he had hardly spoken to his brother, let alone gotten an answer as to why Sho had declined to tell him his bloodline had awakened. He couldn't allow that to distract him though. Kei was determined to win it all today, nothing would stop him. He wore a tight, sleeveless shirt in basic black. He wore loose black pants that wouldn't restrict his movement, secured with a belt to which his ninjato's sheath was secured. His left shoulder was covered by a green bandanna, obscuring his scar and birthmark.

The light in the arena was bright as he stepped into the arena. His eyes scanning for his peers, his potential opponents. Kimi was there, he wondered if the two of them would have to fight. The announcer's voice boomed, introducing the young Hoshokurai. Alright the next prospective, and possibly one of the fastest student the academy has ever seen. It's Hoshokurai Kei, he thrilled us all in the preliminaries with fight between twin brothers. Kei beat his own brother to get here, let's see how far he'll go! Kei smirked as he gathered with the rest of his peers. Looked like he was one of the last ones to arrive. So much for one of the fastest students. Still, Kei knew he was one of the students to watch out for, he couldn't afford to underestimate any of his opponents. He tightened his armguards and pushed some stray white hair out of his face. He wondered who his first opponent would be and made a note to study each of the other matches to learn what he could. He'd take this one match at a time until he stood at the top.

The rumbling of the crowd woudl stir as the announcer would call each of the combatants to the stage for the beginning ceremony. It was going to be an amazing feat if he could get enough people riled up for the students. And he would do just that! "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THERE YOU HAVE IT! THE STUDENTS IN THE TOP NINE SEEDS IN THIS TOURNAMENT!", looking back and forth he'd finally pull out a roster and bracket for the tournament. He'd then look back to the crowd and as his eyes raised being hidden from behind his blackened shades, with much intensity in his voice and even with his body language. You could tell he was pumped!

"AAALLLLRRRIIIIIGGGHHTTT!!! The Referee for this glorious event is none other than one of the Guardians themselves! Guardian of Shadows! One of the minds of Genjutsu in the villages and he will be looking to make sure these bouts are cut and dry!", shifting his focus now back unto the students as Souji would walk from the underpass wearing something particular for this fight. His feet panting the ground slowly as the announcer would continue, "AND NOW!!! FOR THE FIRST BOUT!!!! WE WILL HAVE YAGAMI KYO AND YANCHANA SHUJINKO TO THE STAGE FOR THEIR FIGHT!" making a note that the kids didnt know who'd they be fighting off the back. There was a randomizer that seemed to be generating names as they came to the announcer.

And as the two would enter, they would waste no time... They would go blow for blow, hit for his and there was blood spilled! There were times that they even thought that one side had been hit so had that the arena rumbled. The students of Iwagakure were on another level. Far above any students anywhere else.

But in the end there was one victor... Shujinko! The young blade artist seemed to gain an edge early and keep it throughout... but not without her own pain being taken. Either way! And Souji would finally chime in, "Winner Yanchana Shujinko." rolling his toothpick and smirking Souji cue the Medics to swoop in to help Kyo up if he needed. Otherwise he'd escort them both from the field of battle. Leaving the announcer to begin with the next bout!

"NEXT UP! YUJIRO HARUMI AGAINST! KOGANE CHIIII!!!", and the crowd erupted once again just like after the fight from Kyo and Shujinko! They set an amazing pace for how this tournament would roll over, but could Chi and Harumi Deliver!? Once both Combatants were in the arena stage, Souji would take over again, "Yujiro-san, Kogane-san, Ready?" once they had shown their readiness he'd signal with with his right hand for them to begin. "Go."

OOC: Harumi and Chi may now send me actions. Everyone will have the duration of the time it takes me to mod to roleplay their reactions... however, if you miss a round it doesnt mean you dont get to respond. Just respond accordingly.

Thinking over the things Oyochi had said, Sabaku would try and think of something clever to say so that he might cheer Oyochi up. He seemed rough on the outside but Sabaku was fairly certain there was still some hope left in there...somewhere.

Survival is important, especially for living in Iwa... Pausing a moment to recal something his father had told him one day.

My father told me once that there is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written, or badly written.... Sabaku explained.

It sounds like the biginning of your book might be a little complicated but... Again pausing between thoughts.

Most people know no other way of judging men's worth but by the vogue they are in, or the fortunes they have met with. Sabaku said while staring directly at Oyochi, never breaking eye contact.

Sabaku thought about what he has just said and maybe that would help things...or maybe not one can never be certain about anything. One thing that usually helped Sabaku feel better about things was to go out and do something, get your mind off of whatever your thinking about.

Hey...after the fights are over, would you like to go on a mission with me? It always helps me clear my thoughts on all the shitty things that might be going on that day. Sabaku asked with a grin.

The first bout went and gone and one of the competitors seemed to be experiencing some excessive bleeding. By of the medical branch she stood up and grabbed her violin. As heard bow glides across the strings of her instrument, she infuses the sounds with her chakra casting a healing melody on the losing combatant, thus causing the bleeding to stop completely. As she continues her little song she casts a revitalizing tune on the both of them, thus restoring a portion of the chakra they lost in the battle. Kitsune was getting the feeling she was likely to play a little ditty after every battle, not that it’s a bad thing. She rather enjoyed showing off her musical talents, but after a while of focusing her chakra in healing and restoration she is going to be quite tired by the end of this tournament. She will try her best to last to whole way.

[legend="[size=4]Student Tournament. HIYAH~![/size]"]Chi watched as the students lined up. Most of them were familiar, while there were a few she didn't know. As Oyochi passed he made a threatening gesture and Chi didn't understand why. She may mistrust him but she didn't do anything wrong to him. He attacked an old lady and she yelled at him, was he really that upset over that? It had to be something else, but the girl couldn't tell and nor did she care. If he wanted to wallow in his filth then he could, Chi didn't want anything to do with him anyway after what he did. That didn't mean she hated him, though. Not in such a word, perhaps the better way to say how she felt towards him was that she mistrusted him.
The first battle of the tournament was Kyo and that girl she met briefly when she first met Kyo and Oyochi. The battle was brutal, and in the end it seemed that Kyo was not the victor. This disappointed her, when she first saw Kyo she thought maybe they would get a chance to fight each other in the tournament. But it would seem that was not the case. She wondered how he would take the defeat so soon into the finals, but at the same time she had her own battle to think about. As soon as she began to wonder just when that would be, she heard the announcer call her name. She looked at the randomizer and saw the name of her opponent. She wondered, could it be that Harumi. She walked to the tournament field and would watch for her opponent, as the girl walked on she would see that it was. The same girl who was her first spar would be her first real battle, not counting the preliminaries since it was too easy (like her opponent wasn't even trying).
"Harumi! Remember me?" Chi would say with a small smile coming to her face. She was excited now, hoping to see how much better the girl had gotten since their battle. "Time to see how much better we've gotten since our spar." With a wink Chi would prime herself for the battle as the referee checked them. She began to enter a stance, a better one than the one she pretended to enter before her spar with Harumi before. It was an actual battle stance, once that would help her in her fire jutsu use. After the 'go' it was on.[/legend]
